+News Advancement
If you do a +xp you will see a list of all of the various points that you can spend to advance your character. This news file will explain all of those points, and talk about how you can earn them.
The most basic of points are your experience points, or xp. The +xp command tracks both how many xp you have available to spend, and how many total xp you have earned during the life of your character. You may use these xp to apply for a jutsu, skill, or transformation once per week. See +news skillrules and +news skillcosts for how to spend them. To earn xp, people need to +vote for you when you have been in a scene with them. Once per week the system automatically checks to see if you've gotten at least 3 votes, and if you have, you get an xp. Your vote count will not be cleared until you get your xp, so if it takes you more than a week, your votes will still be counted. The other way to get xp is to turn in a log of your missions, or of your scenes of good RP. See +news wiki for where to send the logs. You can earn 1 xp a week from your logs.
Very similar to xp are transfer xp. This is NMR 2, and characters that were active on NMR 1 had portions of their NMR 1 votes turned into transfer xp. Transfer xp can be spent like xp, on one app a week. In total, you may make one app with xp, and one app with transfer xp in a week.
Characters also earn stat points, that they can use to buy stats as described in +news stattiers. The number of total stats you have - that's each of your attribute scores added up - determines what Tier that you are in, and the Tier you are in determines how many xp you need to earn to get an additional stat point.
