Characters will get experience points, or xp, from three different sources in NMR2. The first source is other players. Just like in the current MUSH, players should +vote for each other if they're in a scene. It does not matter how many people vote for you when you're in a scene, the game systems will just be tracking that you got votes for participating in a scene. In any given week, you can get credit for participating in up to six scenes, and you will receive 1 xp for every three scenes you participate in. Credit does carry over from one week to the next, so if you do, say, 2 scenes in your first week, you won't get an xp that week, but you'll only need to do one scene the next week to get your first xp.
The second way characters will get xp is via missions. If you run a mission, or are a part of a mission, and submit a log of it to the log group, our log reviewer will be going over logs on a weekly basis, and he can hand you one or two xp a week for participating in missions, depending on how impressive your RP is. If you have a really cool RP that's not a mission, go ahead and submit that to the log group, as well. Our log reviewer has the discretion to award xp for that if you didn't participate in a mission during a given week. But please don't bombard poor Jude with a log of every scene you're in. We like him, and don't want him to burn out! Also, you will only receive xp for one log per week, the one which the log reviewer judges to be your best performance. If you participate in two logged scenes and give a decent performance in each, you will receive 1 xp for that week; if you give one decent performance and one really good performance, you will receive 2 xp for that week.
In addition to regular xp, NMR2 has a second type of points reserved for special purposes, called prestige points. Prestige points are used to purchase special skills, such as styles, transformations, and A-rank or S-rank moves. They are earned solely by performance in scenes sent in for log review. For each xp you earn from a log, you will also earn one Pvote (1 Pvote for a decent peformance, 2 Pvotes for something really good). Earning 4 Pvotes will give you one prestige point.
