Background:
The Kemonoken are not a clan so much as a martial-arts style; users of it
can be found in almost any village. Beast Fist is an ancient style of
martial arts that is centralized around beasts, bringing out the power of
the beast in a person. Each Beast Fist user is born with the certain
characteristics and traits of an animal. For example, one born with the
traits of a tiger would be wild and hard to tame, while someone with the
traits of a snake would be more of a cruel and/or suspicious person.

The Kemonoken are split into two opposing schools: Fierce Beast Fist, and
Confrontation Beast Fist. Each school has their own ideals, and their own
styles. Fierce Beast Fist is traditionally the more virtuous school of the
Beast Fist. Their ideals teach obtaining power through positive traits such
as honesty, friendship, and kindness. Animal styles contained in the Fierce
school are typically hot-blooded mammals and less vicious animals.
Confrontation Beast Fist is traditionally the crueler school. Their ideals
teach obtaining power through negative traits such as hatred, jealousy, and
anger. Animal styles contained in the Confrontation school are typically
cold-blooded and vicious animals. Confrontation Beast Fist is a strict
school that demands perfection and absolute loyalty from its students.
Although each school has its own ideals, the line between them is a blurry
one at best. Not every Fierce Beast Fist user is a kind and virtuous
person, and not every Confrontation Beast Fist user is evil and hateful.

The Fierce Beast Fist and Confrontation Beast Fist each have a Grand
Master who leads their school. They do not hold the sort of political
authority that a traditional clan leader does because the Kemonoken schools
are not actually clans, but the students of the Grand Masters are often
fiercely loyal, giving the Grand Masters a lot of influence.

Specialties:
A character who decides to become a Kemonoken must also choose which
animal their Beast Feast Style should follow. Any animal that can
reasonably be studied and imitated by a human is allowed (there will be no
amoeba or mythological beast Styles, for example). For a list of current
Beast Fist Styles, please see +news beastfiststyles.

Kemonoken cont…

Although each school has its own ideals, the line between them is a blurry
one at best. Not every Fierce Beast Fist user is a kind and virtuous person,
and not every Confrontation Beast Fist user is evil and hateful. It is
possible for a Fierce Fist user to feel anger, jealousy and hatred, while on
the opposite side it's possible for a Confrontation Fist user to be kind,
friendly and honest. However, these feelings would not be extreme in any
case, and a Beast Fist user at heart is almost always either good or evil,
rarely in between.

The competition between these two schools can often be vicious, with a yearly
competition being held between each school's best. And though they share the
same name, Fierce Beast Fist and Confrontation Beast Fist are a lot different
in their own rights. Switching between the styles, at any time in life, is
extremely rare, almost unheard of due to the process of converting Chakra to
Geki/Rinki.

(OOC Note: A PC who chooses the Beast Fist clan must choose which school they
belong to, and which animal style they use. Any animal that can reasonably be
studied and imitated by a human is allowed (no 'human fist' or 'amoeba fist'
or 'mythological beast X fist' please). These details should be included in
one's background. When choosing an animal style, the first person on the grid
to app a character that uses it is the style's "moderator", and chooses all
the specifics of that style. Any PCs after this must adhere to the style and
ask the style's moderator for the specifics of it. If the style's moderator
is nuked, the second person to use the style becomes its moderator and it
retains its attributes. If only one person uses the style and is nuked, it is
wiped clean and can be redefined by the next person that chooses it. See
+news beastfiststyles for a list of current styles and their moderators.)

Clan Leadership:

The Fierce Beast Fist "Beast Art" and Confrontation Beast Fist "Aku Gata"
each has a Grand Master who leads their school. They do not hold the sort of
political authority that a traditional clan leader does because the Kemonoken
schools are not actually clans, but the students of the Grand Masters are
often fiercely loyal, giving the Grand Masters a lot of unofficial influence.
Who the Grand Masters are, what style they use, and where they train are
currently unestablished.
