To gain a new skill, a ninja must have the appropriate Style (+news
styles), and they must also have the necessary standard prerequisites.
E-rank and D-rank are the ONLY skill ranks which do not require standard
prerequisites (though they still require an appropriate Style).
Certain techniques may also have additional, or distinctive, prerequisites,
but the list below is the standard requirement for most techniques.
-Ninjutsu (General): 2 Ninjutsu of the Style + 1 General Ninjutsu
(For example, applying for Chakra Suppressing Seal would require two
D-rank Seal Ninjutsu techniques plus any one other D-rank Ninjutsu
technique.)
-Ninjutsu (Elemental): 2 Ninjutsu of the Element type + 1 General Ninjutsu
(For example, applying for Gnawing Stone would require two D-rank Earth
Ninjutsu techniques plus any one other D-rank Ninjutsu technique.)
-Taijutsu (General / Kenjutsu): 2 Taijutsu of the Style + 1 General Taijutsu
(For example, applying for Dynamic Bear Hug would require two D-rank
Konoha Strong Fist Taijutsu techniques plus any one other D-rank Taijutsu
technique.)
-Taijutsu (Elemental)*: 2 Taijutsu of the Element type + 1 General Taijutsu
(For example, applying for Lightning Physical II would require two C-rank
Lightning Taijutsu techniques (one of which must be Lightning Physical)
plus any one other C-rank Taijutsu technique.)
-Taijutsu (Chakra): 2 Chakra Taijutsu + 1 General Taijutsu
(For example, applying for Chakra Physical II would require two D-rank
Chakra Taijutsu techniques (one of which must be Chakra Physical) plus any
one other D-rank Taijutsu technique.)
-Genjutsu: 2 Genjutsu of the Style + 1 General Genjutsu
(For example, applying for Time Lapse would require two D-rank Delusions
Grandeur Genjutsu techniques plus any one other D-rank Genjutsu technique.)
* C-rank Elemental Taijutsu techniques require three D-rank General
Taijutsu techniques plus the appropriate Taijutsu Elemental Style plus the
appropriate element manipulation.
