Despite finally being exposed to the horrors of war, Kuroko has maintained a certain idealist nature, believing that the world could know peace if only they would accept the beautiful philosophy that the Aburame had. So Kuroko made that her sole mission as the clan matriarch: To be a beacon of hope to all other shinobi by her shining example of selfless loyalty to her people. At age 15, when the Uchiha and Senju formed a permanent alliance and founded the village of Konohagakure, Kuroko rejoiced in the name of peace and felt like she finally had a real chance to restore her clan and create a positive name for the Aburame. One of the ways that she decided to do this was by joining the shinobi forces, much to the protest of some of her clan members who prized their matriarch's safety above all else. But it was through learning the shinobi arts that Kuroko felt that she could best serve and protect her clan, and so she enrolled at the newly formed ninja academy to begin her studies.
Kuroko learned quickly, and felt no shame in studying alongside students much younger than herself. It was a little bit awkward sometimes, because the other children knew very well that she was a Clan Head, but she was very likeable all the same, and was well loved by both her classmates and teachers, who saw her potential in her sharp mind and prodigious ninjutsu abilities. Kuroko acquired the rank of Genin in a mere eight months, and her natural teamwork and leadership abilities made her a candidate for Chuunin just a year later, when she would make her mark on the arena with her mysterious and deadly insect-control jutsu.
Kuroko passed the exams with flying colors and was given the rank of Chuunin at age 16, when she began to dedicate her time and efforts to the leadership and education of younger shinobi, as well as looking to further hone her skills so that she would become a better asset to her clan. She learned the art of stealth and reconnaisance, which helped her to put into practice her ideas on keeping the element of surprise, as well as various tracking and sensing skills which would aid her by providing crucial information on her surroundings.
Kuroko spent five years as a Chuunin, serving her village as a vital asset on many missions, many of which served in the protection of the village from outside forces, a cause that she was fully invested in. Her information-gathering skills only grew further during this time, enough so that she considered being a permanent member of the Hokage's intelligence division when she received his invitation. However, she felt as though she could still improve on her skills and serve the Hokage better as a universal shinobi, so she politely declined and continued on her path.
When Kuroko was 21 years old, after much experience in being a shinobi, the matriarch was granted the rank of Jounin, and was assigned her first junior Genin squad to train and look after. It was then that Kuroko realized just how invested she was in children and their education, as well as how much she cared for them as individuals, and subsequently began making visits to the academy on a regular basis to assist in student instruction and act as a mentor figure to any who wished to talk to her. Seeing all of the potential that these children had inspired her to work even harder to protect her village and her clan… and also got her to thinking about her goal of restoring her clan's former self: a large, cooperative unit who worked for the good of all. So far, she had accomplished all but the 'large' part. Since the ambush seven years previous, the Aburame Clan had been reduced to less than half of what it once was. It was now one of her goals to restore it to its former size /and/ glory.
Now 28 years old, Kuroko has been working as a Jounin for seven years, advancing her skills to an unprecedented degree and continuing to be a force to be reckoned with in the shinobi community, gaining the respect of her peers and colleagues for not only herself, but for the name of Aburame, exactly as she had hoped. Now her only goal left to realize is the restoration of her clan, and it just so happens that she has a few ideas in place on how to do that.
