A young student determined to explore the world like her parents had done until her birth.

Background

Aburame Kyoko is a young girl that was born to a pair of Aburame that were not a part of the Land of Fire. However, upon Kyoko being born, they decided to go to Konohagakure for greater protection than what they currently had. Aburame Umi and Aburame Kin were both uneasy about joining the Great Nations, but they wanted to do what was best for their child. And they couldn't continue to wander about the desert, especially after encounter some strange graveyard in the Land of Wind that seemed to haunt their minds. After that visit, it felt like they always had a watchful eye on them, and there were a number of random attacks that the pair were forced to survive.
As such, Kyoko found herself growing up in Konoha with many of the other Aburame. Like most members of her clan, she chooses to wear clothing that covers her entire body. A grey hoodie with a hood that covers her head and goggles that mask her eyes. Sometimes, a kikaichu bug can be seen crawling across her body. The girl was offered to the bugs of the clan and nested in readily, proving that she was definitely a member of the Aburame, and she discovered that she could sort of sense people by their chakra. It wasn't a refined sense, but she was decent enough in finding people or knowing when someone was nearby. It's what allowed her to stay isolated.
The girl mostly stuck to herself except when her parents made her interact with them, but she never provided much to the conversation, nor did she seem too thrilled to start practicing controlling her bugs. They did her bidding, though, easily enough. And so she learned some basic attacks and defenses that all Aburame seem to know. She also worked on her stealth prior to joining the Academy so that she could not be found and bothered. For now, the girl is about to join the Academy, though she's a bit weak in body due to lack of exercise, and her genjutsu skills are atrocious since no one's taught her formally.

Personality

Kyoko is an amazingly stubborn and hot-headed girl, though is that a surprise given her age? Perhaps she'll grow out of it! She's quite fond of her kikaichu, though, and would like to minimize their loss. To do this, though, she focuses on breeding the best kikaichu she can so that they can live longer as generations continue. Kyoko isn't accustomed to working with others, and she's prickly when it comes to sharing information with people she doesn't trust. But is it any different for those she is close to, or do they still feel the bite of her words?

Appearance

A young Aburame that is very hard to distinguish thanks to her clothes. But perhaps it is her clothes that detail who she is? A grey hoodie covers all of her top half, long sleeves and hood pulled to cover as much as possible. Goggles frame her eyes and hide her pupils, allowing her sensitive eyes a break from the sun. Long brown pants cover her legs, and traditional shoes protect her feet. She's young, only about four feet in height, maybe a little more.

+ Under the Hood

Beneath the hood and goggles, the Aburame has brilliant red hair that's surprisingly long. It's pretty amazing that she can hide all of it under that hood, really. Her goggles masked eyes that were equally red, and they seem to spark with confidence, as her tone usually suggests. That, or perhaps it is arrogance? Either way, it's clear that she's not going to be the strongest shinobi since she relies on her kikaichu for battle. They continue to swarm over her body, regardless of her cloak being up or down.

Inuzuka Bandit	Sensei	He's all gruff and serious. And he always fights with the Tanuki. It's pretty funny, actually. But he seems to know what he's doing, for a dog.
Inuzuka Bolt	Sensei	The happier one of the quartet. He's kinda cute. I wish I liked dogs more sometimes, especially when I'm around him. But dogs make me nervous. They're too big and they get too close sometimes. And they slobber sometimes. Ugh… Bolt doesn't do that as much, but he does lick my face.
Dorobou	Sensei	Some sort of racket-maker. He likes to carry around this long tube, but I dunno what it does. Silly, if you ask me. But oh well. I don't like working with him, though. He pretty much hates everything.
Ishikawa Isamu	Classmate, Rival	Baka. He keeps doing stupid things to try and get Sensei's attention. He should just figure out that he isn't going to get it. I guess Sensei put him in his place, though. He's better than he was.
Nara Tatsuo	Shy-nin	He's the quietest shinobi ever. I'd give him points for stealth, but he doesn't seem to do anything except research. I wonder if he's even useful. Given that chakra signature of his, though, I bet he can become a real power-house.

+ Show Entry #01: Academic Ruling

So, my parents signed me up for the Academy. Great. I don't really wanna go, but I can't leave the village. I know my parents don't want to be here, of course. They don't say it, but I can tell. Just the way they seem when they talk about their travels. So I'm gonna make sure they don't have to worry about me. And they don't. They both put a kikaichu on me to keep an eye on me. So I suppose everything will be fine. I just don't want to go. Plus, I heard the teacher was super mean and scary, and his tests were so hard that almost everyone fails.

The Aburame have such a nosey clan head. I never realized it. Probably because I'm a big nobody and Clan Heads don't care about students. Until now. She kept pestering me and pestering me… and wouldn't stop! I don't care if she's the matriarch, she can't just go butting into my personal life like that! She should know everything, anyway, right? That's what a clan head is supposed to do, right? Know everything /without/ meddling? Whatever. She's stupid. I don't get why she's around. I bet we'd be perfectly fine without her, even.

Isamu really is a baka, I think. He decided to challgnge Kaido-sensei so he could get his approval. I don't see the point in doing so, though. There's no reason. I bet that Sensei would be rolling his eyes… It's probably why I was so surprised he accepted, though. Who would have thought. I guess we'll be waiting at the fields. So silly…

Indeed, Isamu is a total baka. If Kaido-Sensei wasn't holding back, Isamu would have been killed. Could have been k… Yeesh. Good thing Sensei knows how to hold back. or things could have gone much worse. But … I can see now why sensei is the head instructor. And I guess Isamu learned his lesson properly, as he seems a bit different.

+ Show Entry #04: Flames and Zori

The flames keep getting more and more noticeable. It's hard to tell, but… I'm glad that they aren't very bright in the Academy. It sucks trying to look through them. The Hokage is a huge bright spot that's already distracting. And Sensei, even though he's pretty bright, pales in comparison. It's odd… But.. I'm getting used to it. The flames before. They were just specks of light. All of them. And then something happened and they turned into fire.

I found someone who has a rather small flame. Zori. But the flame is so weak… I think they're weakening him on purpose. Because they don't want him to escape. He keeps insulting my family by mentioning that girl who almost killed a genin in a spar. And apparently Zori's in jail for the same thing. I like how my clan handles this sort of situation better, though. Jus throwing someone in jail doesn't teach much.

+ Show Entry #05: Fists and Bugs

I have found two new rivals for myself! I am determined to get the better of them. One is my own clanmate, Aburame Liao. She's interesting, wanting to do all this research. A bit silly, if you ask me. I don't study to see if a combination will work. I test it in the field. If the experiment fails, then obviously it was not meant to be. The only one I don't think of like that is Shana. I'm trying to extend her line as much as possible, only mating her with the most durable and long-lasting. Her children seem to be doing much better. I will need to be careful, though, as in-breeding weakens the line…

Ishikawa Isamu is impulsive. A classmate. His fists hurt, and my bugs do not affect him, as he has little chakra. But I will figure out a way to des- err… beat him. If not with my bugs, then through some other means. I wonder if he has any weakness for not being able to use chakra… Hmm… I suppose I can't detect him that well? He's barely a candle to my eyes, at least…

+ Show Entry #06: Graduation

I took the graduation exam. I'm not sure if I even passed, though. Kaido didn't like my little performance with the proctor. If I don't get this interview right, I'm done for. There goes my dream of becoming a shinobi, free to roam the world. I'll get it, though…. I just need to answer his questions and tell him what I think. Then he can give me the rank or I'll bolt out of here. If attitude is the thing holding me back, there's no way I'll be staying in the Hidden Leaf.

Many hours later

Finally! Graduated. It's such a relief to not have to go to the Academy. My parents won't bug me, either, so the only thing that can possibly wake me up is a mission. But for now: I need to sleep. I just beat up Liao, so I'm good to go. Next up in my book to challenge is Isamu. He beat me up good the other day, so I need to beat him back! I'll challenge him at the windmills again. It'll be fun. For now, though, sleep…

+ Show Entry #07: It's Electric!

Today Kuroko got me and Liao in the forest and gave us this weird paper. Liao's crumbled into dust, so I guess that means she can use earth style jutsu. Interesting. Mine crinkled up into a little paper ball, so I guess that means I have a pretty strong affinity for lightning. I have no idea how to use it, though, so this information is pretty worthless.

So I found out this Jounin-kid, Hige, can use lightning. He's helping me out a bit, teaching me how to use it. He showed me this technique and some handseals that made controlling the lightning a lot easier. It's completely different from my Kikaichu, though. I have to make seals… It doesn't flow… It's hard to control… Annoying.

So, apparently that kid, Tats. He's not so bad, I guess, once you get past the fact that he lights up the room like the freaking sun. Sorta like Daisuke, I guess. Apparently, he's got something inside him called Isobu. Talk about odd, but yeah. That's what's going on? Some sort of chakra beast is locked up inside him, making him something called a 'Jinchuuriki'? It's a bit farfetched, but I doubt Tats would lie. He doesn't seem like the type. He always looks guilty! Every time you ask him a question, he'll make some excuse up just to avoid lying. Kinda silly. Oh well, I'm gonna keep an eye on him!

+ Show Entry #09: Hearing Voices

Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy. Because I've been hearing the little voices in my head. They all seem to belong to my kikaichu, too. I tried to tell Kuroko, but I don't think she gets what I'm talking about. It gets better in battle, though… The voices. But when I'm just standing around, I can tell that they all get restless. I'm not sure what to make of it. For now, though, I guess I have to grin and bear it. More headaches for me. And the stupid Daikon isn't going to extinguish his lamp, nor is Tats, so I imagine I'll be getting some real good sleep.

I've been going on a number of actual missions since becoming a genin. I'm not sure if it's fun, exciting, a pain in the butt, or what. Usually it's nothing exciting. Once, I had to go and find the reason for some… Poison. We found paint in the river. Tats was able to clean it out so easy, though. I felt pretty useless. I need to communicate better with my Kikaichu, I guess. That would help a lot. But I did get to practice my sensing skills. I met this one girl, Hanami. She's from Kumo and is training to be a sensor. She says that everyone looks a bit like a whirlwind, though. Which is odd since I see lights. I guess it's different for everyone? Or maybe it's just the difference between being a born and a trained sensor. Either way, that mission wasn't too fun, either. Just scouting. I wonder if I'll get to go on a good one ever.

+ Show Entry #11: Annoying Bugs, Crazy Dogs

People say bugs are annoying, but I think the Inuzuka are even more of a pain in the butt. They're all crazy! Just the other day, that shrimpy Jounin, Hige, said that I should go on Atsuro's team. He doesn't even want me on his team, I bet, so I'm not sure why the heck Hige was saying all that. Baka. I'm fine without a team. I'm doing just fine, too. I'm trying to catch up to Tats and keep ahead of Liao, and it's working fine. So far so good. But I wonder if it's enough… Tats seems to get stronger when he's talking about his friends… Would it be the same for me?

Ugh, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the headaches have gotten worse. Not even the meds I started taking are improving that. I really need to figure out a better way to figure this out. But I'm starting to identify people… They're no longer just vague bright spots. The only reason I can tell Tats and Dai apart is because they're so freaking bright. It's like you have two suns in the village or something equally as irritating. I wish the goggles helped. They don't, but I like to think they do. All this light is just in my mind, after all…

+ Show Entry #13: Tatsuo's Shyness - Pain of the Century

Augh, Tats is such a pain in the butt. If it's not one thing, it's another. But the most annoying thing is that he doesn't stand up for himself! I mean, he's gotten better, luckily. That turtle in him is apparently doing /some/ good, wanting him to be more outgoing. But the kid wilts at the drop of a pin. It's not so much my own, of course, since I'm usually like that. But the other day, Daichi - I'm not sure who he is, but Tatsuo said that was his name - got a prank pulled on him by Tatsuo, and then Tatsuo just ran. Ran! Of all things, just dunking water on someone is /not/ enough for there to be hate between the two. Ugh… once I cleared that up, I was gone.

+ Show Entry #14: Chakra Sensitivity: More Apparent

I think I'm getting even more sensitive to chakra. I dunno why it's suddenly happening now of all times… Puberty? Who knows. But I'm getting used to some of the intensities and can actually think when I'm being confronted by a headache. I can use it to my advantage and actually figure out who is who. Not particularly well, but it's better than before. I can actually locate people, and I already have a sense of who is who. Even if the strength of the chakra is the same, it /looks/ a bit different. Either way, I wonder if I can give this knowledge to my kikaichu. I think… that might work. I could know when to attack an opponent with them or with lightning.

So I finally actually met this kid, Daichi. He's apparently a super great Taijutsuist? I'm not sure… I wonder what he thinks of me, as he ddidn't seem to mmind me…. And then he did. Weirdo. We sparred, and I was able to beat him. Of course, I don't know if that's saying much since he really only just got out of the academy. At least, I think…. Did he have his hitai-ate? I suppose it doesn't matter, nor do I care enough. Well, he's the one that was giving Tats all that earlier grief, so he seems fine enough, at least. A little dense, maybe, but fine. I can see why Tats thought the kid was mad at him. Hmm… I wonder what I should attempt to do next… Expeerimenting with my own Kikaichu, I think I need something… more. Turning on the onnection is useful, but not always. I forgot… I think I turned it off once, but nevermore.

Hige just threw me on a random team! Geez, without my permission, even. He decided that I should be on Atsuro's team. I find it amusing, even, that he would even consider me for the Jounin Commander, or whatever his title is. Hige's gotten a bit too big for his britches, which really isn't that hard considering they're so small. Mini-Jounin… Yeesh. At least the dog is fine and friendly. Hige is about as terrible as I am! The only difference is that he has the rank behind him to make it so he doesn't have to listen to anyone's BS. So not fair… I don't get what the Hokage sees in him, either. Tch… Whatever.

+ Show Entry #17: Facing Daichi: Take Two

So, remember that kid, Daichi? Well, I sparred him, and I won. And then I left. And then I sparred him again just now, and it was way too close for comfort. I need to train more… But anyway, I was able to win again. When he beats me, I guess I'll tell him why I wear my goggles. But until that time comes, I'm going to make sure he's on his toes. That dang Leaf Gale was a pain in the butt to deal with, but it seems like I'll be able to rest easy for the time being. I got him good with both kikaichu and lightning, so he should be sore for some time now! Hahaha… Also, have you heard? There's this student, Ryuusei, who ran away from the Academy. Well, apparently she got leave, but still, she's one crazy student. There's no way I'd run away from Konoha. Not now, anyway. No point in doing so.

Nara are either lazy or meek, it seems. Tats still has about as much backbone as a jelly fish, and the new one, Shugo, seems intent on doing nothing but his worst. At least, that's the impression I got. He didn't really try that hard until his life was in danger, and anyone can try when their life is in danger. At least he's planning to work a bit harder down the line, I suppose. It's annoying that people like that can become genin. Then again, just look at me. I'm probably the bitterest pill to swallow. Anyway, we ran into these black panthers, and one of them was just huge! It made me wonder how they even snuck up on us. A cat's grace, I suppose…

Oh, huh… I was out walking when I noticed some spikes in chakra. Apparently some pair from the Academy got all grumbly. Uzumaki Jun and Yamanaka Katsumi. It was kinda hilarious to see them, and I'm really glad I don't have to deal with that Academy crap anymore. Just another day in the boring life of the Hidden Leaf, I guess. Maybe if I cared more, the whole things would be more exciting… Nah… I wonder if I could just leave. I heard that someone left. Just up and gone off. I can't believe someone actually just quit the Academy, though. Don't most people wanna become a shinobi? I mean, I'm not one of them, I guess… I just wanted to see what I could do and learn a bit of ninjutsu and hopefully control my headaches… But that apparently could have happened without heading to the Academy. Stupid parents…

+ Show Entry #20: The Rumor Mill

Rumor has it that the Uchiha Clan Head is going crazy. No one's seen her at all except for a select few. Isn't that suspicious? I heard that she and Kuroko were actually pretty tight, so what if those two ran away together? That'd make for quite a tale. But I can confirm that the rumors are all false, sadly. It's pretty easy to figure out where the chakra signature of Kuroko is, and it's pretty much always in the village. There are times it isn't, but that's probably because she has some important mission to go on. I dunno what Kurome feels like, but I bet it's the same with her. Forever trapped here until she has to go on a mission.

Y'know, sometimes I wonder if we're all just prisoners of the Leaf. I wonder if that's the reason that guy has the iron shackles on him all the time. They go clank clank clank, especially when he's tap-tap-tapping on that gourd of his. What the heck is it filled with, anyways? Well, I remember fighting him, and it was pretty intense. But I could tell…. He was kind of going easy on us. His chakra sucked like Isamu's, but it didn't take much for him to just casually avoid our attacks. Did he even give his name? I think it was like… 'Ernie' or something…
