Chiba Chiyoko is a relatively unremarkable genin from Kumogakure, that nevertheless has big dreams for the future. Specifically, she wants to become someone recognized as a sage. Not someone who is the representative and partner of a certain class of summoned animal necessarily, but rather an individual known for their wisdom and knowledge of mystical topics. She has a good ways to go, but her determination certainly speaks for itself.

Background
Born to a pair of laborers in Kumogakure, Chiyoko's education took a strange turn when she interpreted the sound advice of great sages and philosophers as puzzles and koans meant to display majesty rather than educate. Particularly latching onto the tales and stories regarding the Sage of Six Paths, she decided to pursue ninjutsu as a means to acquire glorious mystery. For a good deal of time, she was taught by a retired ninja on a personal basis, as her parents wished her to have an education by way of a friend rather than the academy. It took some time, but eventually she acquired a grasp of the basics. Her teacher saw danger in her mentality however, a willingness to pursue ninjutsu without thought for safety or perhaps later in life morals, would surely doom her and many others. A harsh lesson was in order. Taking Chiyoko to a ruined village, she was shown a rough recreation of the battle that decimated in a genjutsu illusion. Shocked and appalled at the potentially destructive nature of ninjutsu, she retreated into a near-catatonic state for a week.
After coming out however, she eventually gathered the strength to talk to her teacher once more. He thought that she had given up entirely on pursuing the ninja arts, but in truth she was determined to take it more slowly rather than rushing headlong into it. Accepting her declaration of determination to continue, she eventually graduated through the academy's genin exams in spite of not having attended the academy proper.
Personality
Happy and energetic during downtime but relatively serious on a mission, Chiyoko's personality very much distinguishes between work and play. The life of a ninja is rife with pain, both given and taken. While she accepts this, Chiyoko nevertheless wants to minimized the pain of the world. She's somewhat curious and moderately inventive in her actions yet ultimately tends to pursue more frivolous things such as wisdom for the cool factor of a sagacious individual's mysteriousness rather than the true value of wisdom.
Appearance
This girl seems to be a bit on the younger side at 4'11" (150cm) tall and has a bit of an overly energetic presence about her. When standing still, she fidgets. When moving, she seems to move with a bright and outgoing display of movement. However, when on missions this seems to invert for the most part. She becomes a bit more collected, still fidgeting and only acting in short bursts of energy or action. Black hair and silver eyes stand out against her equally contrasting outfit, black fingerless gloves and open-toed boots with red shorts, a red top, and a white overjacket.
