Many years ago, long before Eiichi was born and the Great Ninja Wars occurred, a star fell to the Earth and brought with it a strange power. The people who found this star, and discovered it's powers, settled around it to not only protect their treasure but to also learn from it. This settlement grew into a village and Hoshigakure, the Village Hidden Among Stars, was formed. Skip ahead a few generations and two young individuals, both trainees of the star, met. Their names were Fujihara Kaito and Shimizu Mika. These two individuals were a few of the selected villages to undergo the rigorous training which Hoshigakure developed to harness the power of their fallen star. During this training, and subsequent missions, the two fell in love and were wed.
Even after marriage the couple continued their training, as was expected of them, and became quite adept in their chakra usage. Unlike most trainees of Hoshigakure Mika and Kaito used their enhanced chakra to further jutsu beyond chakra molding. Mika was a well known Genjutsu user while Kaito was a Medical Nin. Together they furthered the knowledge of their respective fields and led a good solid life.
Many years after being wed Mika became pregnant, however she was not aware of it at first and a fear arose when she found out. She had been pregnant for many weeks before she was given the news. At first she simply believed herself becoming ill from the stars power, a common occurrence for trainees, and therefore did not tell anyone as she wished to continue her training. When Kaito found out she was sick however he quickly began to treat her illness. It was during the initial examination that he found out she was pregnant, and his joy knew no bounds. However Mika became horrified, telling her husband that she had been continuing her star training every day up to this point.
In the weeks, and then months, that followed Mika was placed on bed rest and Kaito rarely left her side. No one knew what affects the stars radiation would have on an unborn child so the young mother was watched closely. As the baby grew closer and closer to term some abnormalities were noted during examinations. The baby's heartbeat was slower than normal and it's chakra flower was denser and more regulated than normally seen in a child, let alone an unborn baby. Because of these abnormalities a Medical Nin was kept at the bedside for the remainder of Mika's term, though normally it was Kaito as he refused to leave.
When the day finally arrived many people were on edge, wondering if the baby would be healthy and what, if any, side affects had occurred due to the training. And after many hours of labor their wait was over as Mika gave birth to a baby boy. The child appeared normal, slightly smaller than an average baby but that was not unusual. The only odd things noticeable were the child's hair, formed of various shades of pinks and lavenders, was a stark contrast to his parents auburn and his pale waxy yellow eyes, which held no visible pupil. Others noted however that the newborn did not cry, something in itself which was odd, but the parents never noticed that as their lovely child was born, healthy, and so they named him Eiichi which means prosperous one.
Due to the villages' size everyone heard of the child's birth quickly and most were relieved, however some still wondered about the boy and the circumstances of his birth but said nothing. As things calmed down in the following weeks and the parents settled into their new roles things within Hoshigakure went back to their normal routine. Kaito and Mika were removed from duty for the time being, however Kaito would sometimes be called upon for some training accident or some other small incident. The two shined as parents and young Eiichi was never left wanting and was taken care of far better than most. To his parents he was a blessing and a miracle and they smothered him with affection.
As Eiichi began to grow though some things became noticeable about the young boy. When it came to the intellectual growth he was quicker than most at things, his mind much like his parents and his curiosity peaked by every new and interesting thing he could find. Physically though his development was somewhat stunted. He began to crawl, and later walk, at a much slower pace than developing children. His physical strength and stamina were also somewhat lacking and after numerous examinations it was decided that the star's radiation had indeed had an affect on the developing baby before he was born.
And while his physical attributes were somewhat lacking his parents did not let on that something was wrong, instead they focused on his more developed attributes and helped those to become stronger so the young child would not feel out of place. Eiichi was taught by his parents at their home, years before he would go to an academy or be tutored. His parents focused on their own strengths and instilled them into their son. From this he learned compassion, strength of character and will, and determination. And while his body could not stand the rigors of strenuous exercise, his mind was as sharp and his will and indomitable as anyone else.
Soon though his parents were once again called back into duty and when they were gone Eiichi stayed with his grandparents. The moments when his parents were on missions were not met with worry by Eiichi as he had complete faith in them and when they would return they would always have some kind of present for him. As time went on though he noticed his parents demeanor change at times, especially after village meetings and the like, but he never let on and they would always return to normally shortly afterwards. He never really focused on it soon after, his parents would also start laughing or go on about their adventures they had.
It was times like these Eiichi remembers the most, those times and also when his family would go into the forest on picnics. Eiichi loved these outings the most as he could explore and just be free, no one looking at him or his parents and everyone was happy. His grandparents would come along with them and make a day out of it. It was during one of these outings, on a full moon, that Eiichi found something that would leave a mark on him. As he sat with his parents and grandparents, gazing up at the full moon, when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. At first it looked like a small cloud, maybe mist, but then it started moving. At first Eiichi was somewhat startled however his parents calmed him and simply told him to watch. Before his eyes Eiichi saw a group of lunar moths slowly glide through the field they were in. The insects to him were beautiful, their soft pastel green wings glistening in the full moon's light and it mesmerized him. Many of the moths came close to his family and one even landed on his shoulder. It's gossamer wings slowly folding in and out before it took flight again and moved on.
Eiichi would later find out his parents knew the migration of moths was coming through and they had planned the moment for their young son. The reason this was done was not apparent at first, but then the couple were sent out on a mission for a neighboring village and were gone for quite a time. At first Eiichi waited like he did whenever they went on a mission, but as the days passed and weeks started to form the normally happy child became somewhat depressed. For the first time in his life he began to worry about his parents and while his grandparents tried to console him it did not work. During one of his trips into the forest he was met by an unexpected, but welcome, visitor. It was a moth, just like the ones that had come through that night, and it reminded Eiichi of his parents and what they had told him. He remembered his worry and fear at the swarm, but his parents calmed him down and told him it was nothing to fear and that they were always there with him.
This moment caused him to set aside his doubt, a doubt he had never once had about his parents before, and continue his studying like they would want him to. And so Eiichi began to practice and study, he wanted to make his parents proud of him when they returned. His grandparents had never seem him with this much determination and even though each day he went to be exhausted, due to the nature of his physical body, he would get right back up the next day and keep on going. Months had passed and his grandparents had tried to instill within the young boy the possible truth that his parents may not return, but Eiichi never gave up hope and soon he was rewarded for his beliefs.
Over three months had passed since they left, but both of his parents came back to him. They were battered and worn out, but they were safe and alive. Eiichi was so happy and relieved, but he tried his best not to show worry for them and kept strong. They enveloped him in a large hug and he kept his tears back as much as he could. He wanted to show them he could be strong too. And as he wiped away a tear from his mother's battle worn cheek he focused his chakra into his hand and it glowed a light pale green as a small cut on her face was healed. His parents simply looked at him, his grandparents smiled, and he just laid his head on his mother's shoulder and held her.
The next few days were chaotic at best. While his parents were back something was not right and he could feel something was going to happen. The truth behind the mission was clouded in controversy and his parents were not prepare for a ranked mission that high and found out the leader of the village himself had given their names specifically for it. Eiichi's parents feared it was to get closer to Eiichi, a task easier if they were out of the picture. Both Kaito and Mika came to the decision that the boy would be better off if they moved, however that was quickly reminded of their oath to the village. So it was decided that Eiichi and his grandparents would move to Konohagakure, a much larger village with which Hoshigakure had ties with.
On the day of the move the village leader appeared outside of Eiichi's home and there was an argument between him and Eiichi's parents. During the argument another man came around the back of the house, his parents distracted, and began walking towards Eiichi. He attempted to take Eiichi however the young child was not going to go without a fight of his own. He knew he could not physically get away from the older man, so he focused his mind and created the saru, or monkey, hand sign. At that moment a beautiful, and somewhat large, lunar moth fluttered slowly in front of the man. The sun's light glistening off its wings, and he watched it as it slowly circled his body. When the man looked back up the boy was gone and so was the moth.
Eiichi had performed his first Genjutsu, quite well, and quickly made his way to his parent's side. The argument had come to a standstill as Eiichi would go to Konohagakure with his grandparents, but his mother and father were told they could go no further than the gaseous fields which surrounded the village. So with a heavy heart Eiichi was forced to say goodbye to his parents, and once again he held back his tears as he wanted to appear strong and brave. His parents were not so determined however and enclosed him in a hug filled with sobs, tears, and goodbyes. He ventured to Konohagakure, silent the entire way, and soon found their new home. It was small, but he did not care much, instead what he did focus on was the Academy his parents and grandparents had told him about. It was there he would learn things and become strong so that one day he may go back to his village and meet his parents once again.
