A monk and a ninja. The conflict of two roles, all being possessed by one person. The first of his breed in this new Kumogakure, Hoiishime is determine to be a ninja and do in his own special way, working for the common good. But in the end, who is he? Is a monk, a ninja, both, or in the end, none?

Hoiishime was literally dropped on the doorstep of Kumogakure, specifically that of the Monastery of the Jinrai shrine. He was a small frail babie, and apparently, damaged good, found in a wicker basket and sickley from a snake bite. Hanma Yuujiro, would find the boy and assume that there was no hope until something weird would happen. When he would reach for the small baby, Hoiishime's little hand would reach for his thumb, and show amazing strength. Something unexpected, and rather impressive to Yuujiro, showing that the small boy, had still kept a strong life force despite such a fatal injury.
