Iori Hayato was born to one of the bigger broods within the desert. Son of Benito and Chikako, he was the 2nd of 4 children. Their brood was strong enough to actually control 4 of those seasonal oasis with their family and the livestock they had. The falcons that were just as much a part of that family as the people helped them keep ahead of preditors and other broods.

His elder sister was Kana who was killed rather brutally during the ninja wars. His younger brother Ikuei worked well with their mother for tending to the live stock. That youngest Koreya was only three years old when Iori left for the sunagakure village.

During those ninja wars, their brood tried to stay out of the conflict that was sweeping the world. It wasn't until Kana was killed by a shinobi from the Land of Fire that Iori turned those skills of hunting predators with that falcon Heero to hunting enemy ninja. Quickly, the green fletching of that young archer become something to dread out on the sands.

While Iori and his brood, along with the other broods did defend the lands, their brood still lost ground, one of the normal oasis drying up for 2 years during that conflict. At the end of when it all settled, their brood had more mouths to feed than the live stock they had could support.

Iori was changed in that war from a relatively innocent kid to a slightly bitter teen that went to the village instead of putting more stress on that brood. Once in sunagakure, Iori was quickly able to prove to the leaders of the village his ability in combat. After being sent out on harder and harder missions and returning successfully even when alone.

When Iori reached that chuunin ranking, he decided to forgo his name from the brood, taking on that much more descriptive name of Sogekihei or 'sniper'. Iori, now Sogekihei is a constant figure inside the village when not sent on missions by the Kazekage. Between him and Heero, they have become a strong figure to be sent on missions for that village.

Personality

Sogekihei is a friendly enough ninja even if slightly bitter after the ninja wars. One thing that can easily make Sogekihei go hostile is any threat towards Heero, his falcon companion. Otherwise, he holds a deep grudge against anyone from the Land of Fire.

Appearance

Sogekihei stands at about 5 feet tall. He wears that fairly standard ninja outfit, close fitting clothes that give full range of mobility, a utility vest with several pockets on it for a multitude of items to be gotten at in any given moment. That head was covered with a cloth turban, part of that cloth covering a portion of his face to help with any potential sand storms. The one eye that was easily seen is a brilliant green hue, close to the green grass of a wide meadow. Across his back is a compartmentalized quiver with what looks to be at least a dozen arrows and carefully hooked to the quiver was a long shaft of wood with a twisted thread wrapped around that core. At the base of the quiver looked to be a small scroll tied to quiver with an easy release strap. On Soge's shoulder generally sits his falcon, Heero. The falcon is about 2 feet in height with that wing span easily being double that in size. It is a dusky sand color, allowing it to blend well from above, as well as having a pale blue stomach for blending into the sky.
