Background

+ Reveal: Childhood

Like most children within the Hebisuuhai clan, Kie never got to know her mother or father. When she was just four they left her within the clan so they could wander on their own. Shortly after, she became one of the many wards of the elder Yusai and received her serpent's egg to raise. Yusai wasn't the kind and caring guardian most children would hope for, but he taught them everything they'd need to know to survive on their own. This is why he is one of the council that was trusted to pick out children to send to their most recent allies, Kumogakure. Kie didn't bother Yusai and focused all of her attention on the egg. She made sure it was constantly incubated and turned to stay the correct temperature. It didn't take long for the egg to hatch under her guidance. The baby was the most majestic creature she ever witnessed, so she named him Suoh, after the stories she heard about dragons from other villages.

When they weren't learning lessons from Yusai, they were together for everything from sunning to hunting. Her independence and unity with her snake impressed Yusai, and when the time came she was chosen to be sent to the academy. At first Kie refused, because there wouldn't be as many of her clan and more strangers in their place.The elder helped explain to her that no matter where she went, she would always have the family to go back to and this was an opportunity for her and Suoh to grow. She came around and travelled to Kumogakure to be enrolled in their shinobi academy.

By the time she got to the academy, Suoh had already gotten to be four feet long. It was still just a fraction of the size most grew to in the clan, but the sight still frightened the other children. They most often avoided her, and Kie was alright with that. She didn't need the friendship of those outsiders, so long as she had Suoh she would be fine wherever she went. There was always the hope that she'd meet some of the clan in this village, since they were sending their own here to be shinobi. The lack of distractions helped her to master what they taught her at the academy. She was always lacking when it came to using her chakra to make a connection with Genjutsu. She was much more used to using her chakra to help her better her connection with Suoh. Thankfully it was touched on so little, that she could still graduate easily.

There weren't any other graduated students who trusted her enough to be on a team, so she was fine with handling her duties with her companion.

+ Reveal: Genin/Current

She couldn't handle many top rated assignments on her own, but her finely tuned senses and Suoh's versatility did give her a special niche most newly graduated Genin couldn't have. Whenever there was a territory that needed to be scouted and didn't pose too much danger, they were able to send Kie and Suoh to document everything they needed to know quietly. She continues to train with Suoh to ensure that between the two of them nothing will be missed but themselves. Like most in her clan, she also works with the venom that Suoh can produce to make it more potent and useful for a variety of combat situations. The documents Kumogakure keeps show high hopes that she will continue to show the growth she has shown, so there would be no question of whether or not she was prepared to gon on the more dangerous assignments later on.

Personality

Kie could be described as an antisocial nutcase to anyone outside of her clan. Her family would know her as an honest and capable of holding a pleasant, intelligent conversation. Those who aren't family end up being treated like prey, or at least tools that can help her and Suoh become better hunters. She keeps them at a distance, but observes them quite often, learning everything she can about them as she can. Their likes, dislikes, fears, and their preferences when it comes to combat are just a few things Kie tried to become attuned to. There are secret sides of her that she doesn't even show her clan though. Only Suoh sees a very protective and maternal side of the little girl, and her true fear and doubt when she thinks she can't keep him safe. As far as hobbies go, Kie enjoys brewing and working with herbs. Sometimes it helps her make a more satisfying cup of tea, and others it helps her to learn more about the venom she often works with. She dislikes aggressively friendly people and people who live excessively luxurious lives.

Appearance

This pale-skinned youth barely stands at four and a half feet tall from the looks of it, but her wiry and toned physique leaves her far from looking sickly. Her charcoal hair may be naturally longer than it appears, it's been barely pulled back into two short, low hanging twin tails. The rest of it has been chopped into irregular locks that don't interfere with her line of sight. Thin green eyes rest in a calculating gaze set behind her rounded, wire-framed glasses. A leather belt strip has been modified to remain hooked comfortably around her neck. She wears a black and grey kimono that appears to have originally been made for a boy around her age. She keeps it tied modestly though, so only the top of her bared chest is exposed, and when it is colder than usual she wears a white tunic underneath as well. Plain white socks and wooden sandals keep her feet protected.

Almost always with her is her serpentine companion, Suoh. He is long enough at six feet long that he can wrap around her neck and drape comfortably. His scales look rough to the touch, and they are an even blending of black and varying shades of pale green. His head comes to a rounded point with small thermal pits lining both sides of his jaws. His eyes are perfectly round and match the coloring of his scales. His black underbelly has thin slits between the layered scales to help with slithering around easily.
