Hozuki Komachi is a former infiltration and espionage expert of the Hozuki Clan who now works as a ninja instructor at Kirigakure's training facilities. Most younger ninja and those who did not directly participate in the Clan Wars are unaware of her shadowy past and even Jounin may have only heard rumors and not have a solid grasp on what Komachi has been involved with, what she may or may not be capable of, and where she has been for the past half-dozen years only to reappear and start teaching new ninja without fanfare.

Background

Hozuki Komachi is a kunoichi of the Hozuki Clan from the Land of Water. Though born and raised during the Clan Wars, trained in ninja arts, and involved in various ninja pursuits on the behalf of her Clan, Komachi was not actively engaged in combat during the Clan Wars. Her parents are both alive, though her father is getting on in years and has a bad back. Her mother is starting to have back problems too, though for reasons not strictly related to her age. Coughcough.

Komachi has little interest in direct combat, though it remains something she is capable at. Her expertise, however, lies in the skills of a spy: infiltration; surveillance; sabotage; and similar. Combining the Hydrification Technique with the need for "merging" into various enemy Clans or organizations, Komachi has managed to make quite a reputation for herself amongst her Clan mates, and to a degree amongst the rivals of the Hozuki. By performing minor "shape shifting" to appear to be a woman slightly different than her true physical appearance, she has been able to gain information from very secure locations and forces. However, her techniques are only partially responsible for this.

More important is a special spy skill for "deep cover" missions that lets her "submerge" her "core personality" and take on a new personality, background, mannerisms, and so forth. While not the best in this field, she was sufficiently skilled that she was given the codename "Miss Deep". This is the only identity that most people know of, and those same people don't really know who Miss Deep is exactly, other than a dangerous spy.

+Deep cover...

For many years, that is all Komachi was. She was Miss Deep, the spy. She became other people at other times, depending on the mission she was given. Eventually, however, she failed at her final mission. She obtained the information she had been sent to retrieve, about a secret organization that was involved in manipulating the minds of at least two major officials in Kirigakure. However, she could not find out who exactly was being manipulated, how, or who had done the deed. Further, she had alerted this group to her presence as an infiltrator. Out of all the people she had ever been and all the places she had ever slipped into, none had the security, awareness, or resources at their disposal that she had encountered on this mission.

She has returned to Kirigakure after awakening from her self-hypnosis, and she has reported her findings to her superiors. Now all she has to do is wait for the leader of the Hozuki Clan and his ring of spy masters to put the data together and determine the next course of action. It's no longer safe for Hozuki to be "Miss Deep". She can potentially be identified and linked back to the Hozuki Clan now. She has abandoned all her other identities and now works to "become herself", and obtain a life she has never before led.

+Becoming oneself...

It's time for Miss Deep to be Hozuki Komachi: a woman who hasn't existed for the past 15 years. It's tough breaking free from all those "other selves", all the lies, the deception, the make-believe histories, the friends, the enemies, and everything else. But with the help of her family, her Clan, and her Village, Komachi has hope that she can be successfully "deprogrammed" and live some semblance of a normal life. The first step is to find something unrelated to spy work to do. That step has been made very easy by her assignation to the post of instructor in Kirigakure's ninja training facilities.

Personality

Komachi can seem cool and distant to some due to her self-control and calm demeanor. However, her sense of humor and her willingness to become close to others shows she is simply what one might call "unflappable" as opposed to "unemotional". Few things seem to surprise Komachi, or if they do she accepts them in a somewhat subdued fashion — typically with a clever quip or obviously-fake outrage. Komachi is a very dynamic individual, able to change her schedule, her plans, or her tactics to suit the needs of a situation. Much like the water that her Clan is such a master of, Komachi tends to follow the path of least resistance and bypass obstacles through "lateral thinking". She finds her way to her goal by working "outside of the obvious parameters", to put it simply. This means high adaptability, among other things.

This is probably going to be useful in her new job. The kind of trouble that younger people can get into can cover a wide range of possibilities and it will take a great deal of patience to endure it all, even for one with Komachi's self-control.

Appearance

Hozuki Komachi is an adult woman, 5 feet and 10 inches in height. She has peach-colored skin, with pale-brown eyes, and long, sweeping, ebony hair that curls at the ends. Her hair typically hangs over her right eye due to its length and style. Her lips are often coated in lipstick of one coloration or another, and a small 'beauty mark' lies about an inch to the left of her mouth.

Komachi is very shapely, with a significantly above-average (for a ninja) size to her chest and seemingly very few concerns for covering up. She is in the habit of wearing necklaces consisting of a thin chain with a single pendant, ring, or other item dangling from the chain at about cleavage-level. Her build really does seem to be more fitting to a civilian than a kunoichi, as there are no particular indications that she is rippling with absurd amounts of muscle or similar.

Komachi's outfit varies, but her standard clothing is an open white-and-tan blouse that is buttoned somewhere around her navel, and white pants held in place primarily by the strings along the sides, at about thigh-level, and her wide, womanly hips. She also wears tall, leather boots. Because boots are awesome.
