Inuzuka Shinobu is a survivor of the Kidnapping Ring. She was badly treated for her whole life and has come out of it with many deep scars. Now that she's back in Konoha, the people in her life have been working to heal those wounds.
Shinobu attempted, for a while, to be a shinobi of Konohagakure. In the end, though, she decided to step down from active duty to remain on the sidelines and just live a simple, normal life.
Background
Shinobu is a member of the Inuzuka Clan in Konohagakure. More specifically, she is a member of Omega Clan.
Before she was kidnapped:
Shinobu's first name was Ayano. She used to be a plain girl with nothing special in her life. She only had to deal with going home everyday to a mother that seemed to care little for her. Ayano never went to the shinobi academy. She never knew her father. Her mother always changed the story of why he was not a part of her life, to make matters worse. "He died in the wars." "He abandoned us both." "He was a criminal." While the story kept changing for her father, at least she was able to cling to something good. Her mother was another matter…
Inuzuka Chisato. The woman was widely known amongst the Inuzuka as a sort of failure. She had essentially married into the clan and rejected them all as soon as her husband had died. Instead of living within the Inuzuka village, Chisato took her daughter to the very edge of the village. The only reason she wasn't far away was because Ayano was still a member of the clan by blood, and any member of the Delta clan could track them down with ease. As mentioned, Chisato rejected the clan. She forbade her daughter to have a partner, sheltered the young Ayano, and forced her to stay at home with no friends.
Chisato was able to go out, of course, leaving Ayano home alone for long periods of time. When she returned home, she typically smelled drunk, and was a cruel one at that. All her rage over her husband dying spilled out when she was intoxicated, and the only target for both physical and mental abuse was her daughter. Sometimes her mother was cruel and took a blade or a still-burning candle to the girl's body. Other times she was 'nice' and only hurled cruel words around. Both punishments, though, left deep wounds.
As time went on, Chisato eventually met with one of the members of an association. They told her: We are attempting to create an army using kidnapped children as soldiers. We want to start a revolution. We will be great.
The widowed Inuzuka was tempted… To take revenge on her so-called family, though they were as accepting as possible. To be rid of the 'thing' that so often reminded her of her dead husband… To feel successful… To be wealthy… Greed and selfishness overshadowed any love that may have been in her life. As such, Chisato gave up her life to the organization, even going as far as to offer her own daughter up.
Ayano was in her house like any other day, looking over some of the books that her mother had owned on combat. Strategy and Tactics, specifically. The day seemed like any other day. The door opened, and she quickly moved to greet her mother and assist her with any bags she may have or Groceries she may have bought. This day, though, was far from what she was used to. The open door revealed her mother, who forced Ayano unconscious before carrying the girl away. She was very careful not to leave anything that 'her clan' could use to track the girl. As such, the kidnapping went off without a hitch, and Ayano began her new life.
Ayano found herself in the training barracks when she woke up. There was a lot of shouting, then pain as she didn't seem to wake up fast enough for them. The girl struggled to get to her feet in time, which only resulted in more punishment for her already scarred body. She learned, eventually, that it was a bad idea to try and escape. To disobey. To make any friends. None of those things were too difficult, of course. She didn't have much experience with anything except withstanding torture and suffering.
Wake up. Eat. Train. Hide your exhaustion so they don't beat you. The only thing she hated to do was kill, which often resulted in punishment. No food. Whips. More scars to bear. Every day was like that, monotonous and pain-filled. They drilled it into her head: 'The shinobi villages are an evil. They cast you out, they let you live terrible lives without caring or attempting to help you. They are the ones you should turn your rage towards.'
Ayano didn't believe it, but whenever she showed such resistance, she would find herself beaten even more. Fighting even more, which she hated because it meant fighting children who also didn't wish to fight. There were a few who loved it and rose swiftly through the ranks, yes. But she was not one of them. All she wanted to do was hide somewhere and never have to deal with it.
Ayano was close to giving in after two years of the terrible treatment in the compound, and then the six years that she had to suffer under her mother. But rumors of other compounds being freed gave her hope. One day, she heard that there were shinobi that were near the place she lived. The place she had been forced to call home for a quarter of her life. But they abandoned her again, and she disappeared from the world of the living. The crushing disappointment of having her hope smashed to bits was too much for her to bear, which only brought down more punishment.
Guards were stepping it up. The children were all being escorted by at least two adults. But apparently that wasn't enough to stop a large group of shinobi from infiltrating the compound. The day of the rescue was the day that brought the most fear out of Ayano, and also the day she felt the most happiness. Inuzuka made up the attacking force, and Ayano was able to see the might of her clan first hand.
Ayano was treated and taken back home, the girl indicating that she had come from the Inuzuka clan despite not seeming to have any of their features. It may or may not have been fortunate that she had the slightly larger fangs of her clan to prove her bloodline, as it meant she had a lot of explaining to do. But eventually she was permitted back into the clan. There was no one to dispute it, either. She could also prove who she was, showing the disbelievers her former home, which a few may recall.
Ayano came out of the eight years of pain with many scars on her body, both mentally and physically. On her body were marks from whips, cuts from knives, burns from brands, and a few scars thanks to swords piercing her skin. She also had an eyepatch over her right eye from when someone had thrown a knife at her and been a little too lucky… Somehow she was able to survive that.
Ayano hated herself after the entire ordeal, though, and requested a name change. She wanted someone to gift her with a name, though, as she didn't trust herself to come up with one. As such, she was given the name 'Shinobu', meaning 'endurance'. She was assigned a nin-ken and returned to the Omega Clan of the Inuzuka, many of whom began to work on healing her.
Shinobu started living with her nin-ken and an older woman. Her nin-ken is 'Kame', is still a relatively young pup and small. The pup is a black labrador retriever, fur black all over its body. The one who watches her is Inuzuka Mana. A skill test revealed that, after the long years of imprisonment, Shinobu had highly trained Taijutsu skills, but her ninjutsu and genjutsu were suffering badly. However, she was still able to avoid the Academy life because every time she neared the building, she would have flashbacks of the compound.
Personality
Shinobu doesn't know what life is like outside of torture. She's never had any friends before, and no one in her life ever cared for her. As such, the girl is extremely withdrawn. She fears adults the most, though the girl is learning to trust them. Other children make her nervous, and she prefers one-on-one interactions above all else. Her nin-ken, Kame, is a big supporter in her life despite the pair only just meeting, and Kame is often used as a living plushie. Thankfully, the pup is very small at the moment.
Shinobu is rather meek in personality, though it's difficult to tell if that's due to her upbringing or if it's just a part of her nature. She is kind, though, disliking when she has to hurt other people. She has discovered, though, that she those she cares for a lot, she aims to protect to the best of her abilities. Right now, the feeling is exclusive to her nin-ken.
Appearance
Shinobu is a young girl, looking no older than ten, with many marks on her body. The most obvious mark is covered by an eyepatch over her right eye. Her left eye reveals the fact that she has brown eyes. They look out from under black bangs that fall short of her eyebrows, meaning that her vision isn't (even more) impaired. She looks to be about four feet in height, which is just a bit shorter than what is typical of children her age. If Shinobu ever opens her mouth, one would notice the elongated canines that many Inuzuka have.
Shinobu has done her best to conceal her marked body. Her arms and legs are completely covered by long pants and sleeves, each a dark navy blue. She has a sweatshirt on, grey with fur along the edges of its hood and at the cuffs of its sleeves. It also has the same fringe running along the bottom of the jacket. If she gets nervous, she will sometimes end up hiding, covering her face in the hood. The sandals she wears are tradition shoes that all shinobi usually wear. Around her right leg is a pouch for any supplies.
Kame, Shinobu's Nin-ken, is usually never far from her side. If the black labrador pup is not required to walk, Shinobu will use her as a living plushie, the pup clutched close to her chest. As an Inuzuka dog, Kame is larger than a normal labrador pup. However, Kame is also a 'runt', being smaller than other dogs. It's likely due to the fact that Shinobu and Kame are part of the Omega Clan within the Inuzuka.

Obaa-san said I should write down things that have happened to me… Because she said I would be able to get over what happened faster… But it's scary to think about. The writing gets a bit shakier I was really happy when everyone came to rescue me… I don't know if I'll be able to get along with the other kids if I see them… It's already scary trying to get near the Academy here… Even though it's nothing like there… The ink is getting a bit blotchy I don't want to remember it ever again.
The Inuzuka clan decided that I really was a part of their clan… And apparently Otou-san was a member of the Omega clan. I suppose… That's good news… She didn't tell me much about him, but according to records that the clan found, he ended up dying on a mission. She blamed it on the village, and I wasn't born yet… I wonder if this would have happened if he didn't get killed…

Since I'm a member of the Omega Clan, apparently I can get a nin-ken… They gave me a small black labrador retriever named 'Kame'. She's really cute. I like her. And she seemed to like me too! She likes to snuggle into my arms when I feel upset.

I was sitting down under a tree with Kame, relaxing… Obaa-san said I should try and get used to the training area even though it makes me so scared… I suppose Hige-kun could smell the fear on me, since he came over to talk to me… We just talked for a bit. He was kinda fun to talk to, and really nice even though he's a Chuunin. Konsho played with Kame, too, which was nice. I don't think she played because I'm always holding onto her…
Apparently Hige-kun was one of the shinobi that assaulted that place. He said he wanted to kill all the people who were kidnapping us… That made me happy to hear, but I also got really nervous and scared… There's a large ink blot that covers the rest of the page
I went to the training grounds… Kame wanted to see Konsho, and I wanted to see Hige-kun… But I guess he wasn't there because he was on a mission… And I couldn't even step near the forest… So I walked around Konoha for a bit. It was strangely peaceful. A lot of the people are really nice. I wonder why she didn't let me see everyone… It doesn't seem as scary as she made it sound… The Academy still made me nervous, though… I stayed far away from it… And I guess the police place that the Uchiha Clan control… It reminded me too much…

I was in the tree house today. People kept showing up, and I didn't want to leave it… Even though it was so late at night. I was scared most that Obaa-san would be angry at me, but when I got back, she just seemed happy that I was okay…. It's … still so odd… That people are happy and nice…
When I came down from the tree house, Taiki-sama approached me… It was really scary… Even though I know no one here would hurt me, I just get nervous when someone comes over…. There's some unrecognizable scribbles that are crossed out many many times H-he said that he was sorry… And he bowed to me on his knees… It felt so weird… I didn't know how to react, and I panicked. Kame had a lot of fun, at least… She played with a fox and Bolt until Taiki-sama came over… I'm glad she's with me now… I know I'm safe with her, at least.
Today I was just by the lake when I met Nakota Izara. She's a student, apparently, and older than me… I was excited to see someone my age, but it was also a bit scary because she mentioned… And then some kid came in. And he looked a lot like those kids who would take advantage of their age and position… And then he grabbed Izara-san, and I couldn't stop him, and I ran…
Eventually I went back… And the one kid was still there. And then another person. They started fighting more, and it was really scary again. So I ran away again to a path off the side. The fighting settled down, at least… It reminded me of when we had to fight…
I don't remember his name, but the other boy that stopped the rock from hitting me came after me. And then Kaido-san came and he played the flute. It was really pretty to listen to, and I guess Kaido-san saw that. So he taught me how! It was really hard, so I'm gonna practice. There's a small paw print Oh, and I guess Kame's learning from Bandit-san.
'Safe'. It's a word that keeps coming up. I don't quite understand what it means, but … Yuuki-san said I was. I was nervous around her… But she's nice. And there's something about her that I feel is okay…. It's hard to describe. Soren-san is nice, but I prefer Ayame-chan. She's a really cute fox. Kame gets unhappy… Because Ayame-chan likes to take all my attention…
Yuuki-san said I could go to her house if I wanted… Maybe I will sometime… It sounds like fun. She told me it was in the Hyuuga compound, and she even talked about a way to get inside without people noticing. Maybe I'll try and find her tomorrow…
I was down by the lake today when I saw someone. There was someone who looked like she was only a little bit older than me… So I went up to her, sort of… And we started talking a bit… Or she talked to me… It went alright until this one boy showed up… He reminded me of the older kids… There's a large ink spot in the middle of the writing
The writing is a bit shaky Izara-san, the girl I met, called him 'Zori'. I don't like him… He was really scary and hurt Izara-san. And I ended up running away from everything… I didn't want to, but I couldn't stay… And when I went back, Izara-san was gone… I dunno where she went… I hope she's okay…

I was practicing… The flute in the gardens… And someone, another Uchiha, came to listen… He was kinda silly being scared… Of Kame. Then he just disappeared… I dunno… The other Uchiha… Kyuketsuki… He played the flute with me… With Kaido-san. I don't mind him… Hige-san doesn't mind him, either… Sometimes I don't trust Kame-san…
A bit of blood appears, and words are scribbled out
Umm… After that, Izara-san appeared… And we played a bit of hide and seek. I was… better at finding with my senses… But it was still hard. I'm not used to… using my nose… I hide it… After that place. It was safer… The writing is a bit shaky towards the end, and the ink goes in a line off the page. At the bottom is a pawprint that is slowly making its way through the pages as the writing continues onward.
I… found a really nice place… Near the Hokage mountain. It's really pretty…. And it's nice to stay because no one finds me… I guess Hige-kun found me… Since he's really good at tracking. And then others came. It was nice… And Kyu-san played the flute… It was really pretty. I like it when he plays…
Except then Zori came… and he messed everything up… It was scary… The ink makes a slash mark on the page before continuing on But he went away after a while… Which was good. And then we listened to Kyu-san play the flute… And I think I fell asleep because I woke up in my bed.
Obaa-san… really wanted me to go on a mission… I guess she and Kame really want me to know my options… The mission was with Izara-san… And Zori. And Kyu-san. So … It was okay. Nothing happened until near the end. … And bandits showed up. Zori got a bit… carried away… It was scary… But they were going to hurt me… So I was glad they were taken care of… It's confusing….
When I got home, Obaa-san was really nice and made me really yummy food. I like it when she makes soup the best. But… I give Kame all of my egg… It tastes weird to me.
I was in the garden… Just playing my flute. Soren-san appeared… And then someone… odd… He seemed to understand the Inuzuka language, which was weird. Since he wasn't an Inuzuka… Soren-san seemed to know him, though… So I guess he was okay.
Kame says he smelled like sand… So… I guess he's from the Land of Wind… Obaa-san talks about all the Lands and how they're different from the Land of Fire, which is where we live. She even brough out a map… It was weird… to see how big everything was… so tiny…
June 2015
Kame was making me run after her, but then I guess… the lake is a good place to hang out… Because there was someone fishing… And I guess he thought I wanted food? And he called Kame a boy when Soren-san appeared… I hid behind him and Kame kept being rude to the fishing person. And then Ayame-chan appeared, and I just snuggled her while the grown-ups talked. It was a boring conversation, so I ended up falling asleep.
I went to the Academy. It was scary… There were a lot of kids there. But they all seemed happy, which was … odd… Hige-kun said that no one would hurt me… And then a teacher came out. And she was nice to Kame, so I guess that means she's nice. She said she had a desk and Kame could sit with me… Hige-kun wants me to try to join, so… I guess I can… But not now. It's too scary right now. I don't wanna go yet.
Today I was at the hospital. Obaa-san had a checkup, so I was waiting for her… But I didn't like it. It was scary and there were all these people who looked scary… There was a nice lady who brought me somewhere without lots of scary people, though. And Kame found Kenta-san… He showed me a book filled with lots of flowers. They were really pretty. I looked through the all while we sat there, and then… I guess time passed really fast. Mana-san was had come to get me. I wanna look more at the pictures… Maybe Kenta-san will find it for me again.
I went… to the training grounds… Zori was there…. But so was Hige-kuna dn Izara-san. So I guess things would all be okay. And Zori was too engrossed in his training to pay attention, so I got to learn… Umm… 'Tsuga' is an Inuzuka technique. I wonder … if I''ll be able to get it… It's hard… Because the spinning makes me dizzy. And I keep traveling off-course… But it's fun, and I want Hige-kun to know I can do it..

Interestingly, the hand writing is much steadier than it has been. The style of writing is also vastly different, looking a bit cursive in nature.
Shinobu-chan went to the training grounds today, but she was a bit startled by someone. I'm not too sure who it was that she ran into, as she never got his name, but Kame was a bit worried. So much so that Kame attacked someone who was attempting to help Shinobu-chan when she fell from a tree. That's not nice, Kame-chan. You should accept help from anyone who comes.
I suppose I have my work cut out for me. I truthfully shouldn't be writing in Shinobu-chan's journals, but I thought this event might be important to document. As such, here it is.
Kame sensed someone… Kenta-san. In the village. It's a bit odd that he was here, but I guess he had official business? Umm… Hige-kun and Konsho-kun were there. And Atsuro-sama and Taizen-sama. Hige-kun was gone for a while… Umm… But he brought me back a small doggy from Kumo. It sorta looks like this.
There is a rough sketching of a dog figurine. It's pretty obvious that the person isn't an artist, but it's a pretty decent sketch with plenty of mistakes.
I put it next to my bed… So I can see it before I sleep. Now I have to sleep, so night-night.
Hige-kun invited me and Kame over to breakfast. I guess… He wants to see how we're doing? I guess… fine… Obaa-san joined us. And Hige-kun asked a bunch of questions… I don't like talking that much, though… So Obaa-san answered a lot more… Or Kame. But it went okay, in the end… I guess… After that, I went out to train a bit. Obaa-san is showing me… A new jutsu. It's called 'Omega Genjutsu'. So I guess it's genjutsu..? I thought it took more… But I guess I can do it… So… I'll keep trying it.
Kyu-san was doing something…. It's called 'water walking'. I guess… It's harder than tree walking…? Hige-kun said… I should learn tree walking first… I sorta wanna try, though… It looks fun walking on water… Kame tried. She was able to stay partly on the surface. But then Konsho-kun and Kame started playing around, so she never actually got it. Umm… Then Kenta-san appeared, so Kame was able to get pets. And I watched Kyu-san and Hige-kun spar. It was interesting… because Kyu-san uses genjutsu. So you can't see his attacks. I guess… that's what it looks like when I use genjutsu?

I was at… the lake. Practicing. And Kyu-san was there. He said… He wants to be my friend. That's a good thing… I think. Kame is happy about it. Since she always says her job is to have people like me… and to get me to talk to others…. I don't like talking, though. It's too difficult… Obaa-san seems happy about what I said, too. Except she was… sort of angry… Because I stayed out late… But I made it home, so she wasn't too mad…
I was outside with Kame looking for flowers, but then… Zori appeared… He was being really creepy, and then I'm not sure what happened. It was all a bit of a blur. Kame attacked Zori, and then there was a big fight… I just remember… Hitting Zori a few times. And then he trapped me, and it really hurt… Like from back then… drops of water smudge the ink a bit I don't remember after that, though… Kame says that Kyu-san and Soren-san came over to help, though.
Umm.. I still don't remember much… But Kame said that Kyu-san, Hige-kun, and Soren-san came to visit. She told them what happened while I just sat there… I guess I wasn't getting better… Because…
I just want to put it behind me, I think… The date's actually… August 12. But… Kame said I should put when it happened. So I could know later if I look at the journals… I don't know if I want to… If they bring back bad memories… I don't want to remember that place.
Ayame-chan visited me today. I like her… She's super nice and fluffy… And it's fun to snuggle her. Soren-san was here, too. He played really nice music on something… an 'ocarina'. It… sort of sounds like the flute I play. But different. I like it… The tune was nice, too. Maybe he can teach it to me…. So I can play it. I … think I fell asleep… The song was in my dream… instead of that place.

I… was finally out of the hospital… I guess I'm okay? It doesn't feel like it… Umm… I have to write in my journal more… I saw Soren-san today. Obaa-san took me to the lake… It was nice, though… And Yuuki-san was there… Umm… I think they're both really nice. I wished Ayame-chan was there, too… And then she was. I really like her… She's fluffy and snuggly. And I like hugging her. She's really soft. Umm… I wonder if Kame is jealous, though… Because she's grumbling at me now…

Today… I was training with Mana-san. And then Atsuro-san came over… with Kenta. So Kame got treats. And Kenta-san gave me some herbs … I'm not sure what they do, but they smell nice. Umm… And then I asked if Atsuro-san could… train me… A bit… It was scary to ask, but… Kenta-san likes him. So I thought I should. Kenta-san and Hige-kun both said he was a good sensei… So he must be. I wonder what we'll learn first… I want to start, but I haven't started at the Academy… I think… Umm.. Atsuro-san might want to wait until I finish there… But I don't know if I want to go…
I… decided to try and spar someone…. His name is Uchiha Kenji. But I don't think I like him… It was a scary spar… It made me remember… And then Kame had to get me to move… I guess Kyu showed up… Kame said that he brought me back home… And Hige-kun and Kenta-san were there… I remember Kenta-san being there… He showed up at some point… I remember hearing him… Umm… It was weird… Like he was right next to me… Kame said that he helped bring me back from things, so… I guess I should thank him later…
Hige-kun came over for a bit. Which was nice. He just… wanted to say some things… Like that I was safe here… I think I can believe him… But how come… The two fights… I guess… they didn't mean it… Umm… And Hige-kun said I should talk more. I like it better when I just have to listen, though… I prefer listening… Talking is scary. They didn't like it when we talked, so I don't… Didn't… It's a lot easier. I think… But Kame says I should try, even though she doesn't want to force it… I suppose… I can try…

Life was normal up until now… There was much going on… So I didn't write about it so much… But then Kyu-kun ended up in the hospital! I'm not sure… Hige-kun said that there was a man… Someone he knew. I helped track down the man, though… So I think everything will be okay. Hige-kun said he would track him down… So I'll believe him. Me and Kame-chan wanted to go with, but I guess not… But maybe the next mission… If I grow stronger… maybe. Oh, I guess I should talk about… what happened between then… It's so much… I should write it all down… Umm… Maybe in a different entry… I should say what happened then… And what happens now… yeah… There was… The academy… Reading… The codex… Umm, maybe I'll do this later.
Umm… So I decided to join the Academy… And Kaido-sensei also gave me the Codex… It's a super secret book that he made himself… It has a lot of different things in it about the different clans and different plants… Also different poisons and medicines. It's really interesting to read, but Obaa-san has to translate some things because the kanji is hard to read. But it's really interesting. I've been looking at it everyday since I got it… I guess it's part of the reason why… I joined the Academy. Because I want to learn more… Umm… And then one day I was called in, and I was graduating… I'm not sure why. I learned everything, though, because Hige-kun taught me a lot of things. And … it was fun. Difficult, but fun. Oh, this is a lot… Maybe I should extend this into even more… Ummm… Okay, so I joined the Academy… And graduated… And I got really close to Kyu-kun and Hikaru-kun and Isamu-kun. We're on a team together, actually… Me and Tatsuo-kun and Isamu-kun… Oh, that was after I graduated… Umm… Nara Tatsuo-kun… He's really nice, but also quiet like me. Umm… I'll talk about him later. And Isamu-kun is really nice. He likes to charge into things a lot. I wonder if he thinks at all… He only recently graduated, really… Oh, maybe I should go back again…
Tatsuo. Nara Tatsuo-kun. He's a strange Nara that uses water instead of shadows… I guess it's because he has the three tails inside him, but I only learned that recently. Apparently it was sealed inside him recently… Or since I met him. I don't see… why it's that big of a deal. It doesn't do much, does it? I heard that it sometimes does things, but I haven't seen it do that…. Anyway, we're on a team together. And we also learned medical jutsu with Kenta-san. I wasn't as interested with the jutsu, but I really like the herbs and poisons. I wonder if maybe someday I can combine those… Or something like that. It could be useful… Someday. Oh, and I learned with Kyu-san. He taught us a bit of medical stuff too… And we learned with Hikaru-kun. Hikaru-kun is a Sarutobi. And he's really nice. He brought me to look at flowers, once. I like flowers… I haven't seen him in a while because we're so busy, though.
Oh, I should mention… That we took a trip to Kumogakure. It's a really strange place. The air up there is super fresh and nice to smell. Umm… Also, it felt like I could smell for miles. It was interesting… I met someone… Asato-san… He was kind of scary, really… He was super rough, but … He also didn't seem to think much of me. I guess I just proved him wrong by beating him in a spar, though… I hope he isn't too angry… Meeting the Raikage was interesting, though…. Oh, Kaido-sensei is friends with the Raikage, which is why we were able to meet with him, I guess. Interesting, ne? I helped out with some of the missions. They were attacked by the Recluse, so we helped them… rebuild. And patrolled. And stuff like that. It was a lot of work. Oh, I should… write about the Recluse, too…
November 2015
The Recluse were a bunch of people that infiltrated the villages. I'm not sure when it began, but Taiki-sama has been at war with them ever since I joined the village. They attacked us at our gates, so we attacked back. I think we were fighting with shinobi from Kumogakure because of the alliance… It was really interesting, and a bit strange to go on such a difficult mission. There were a lot of different people there. But I guess I'm still… Ummm… Used to it all… I just don't like it afterwards. As long as I'm helping my friends, at least, I suppose it's fine…. In the end, we were able to destroy all of the Recluse, so that's good. I'm glad they won't be a problem anymore.
Daichi-san… He's nice, I think… But he sometimes doesn't seem to care… He's a student right now, and he's focusing on Konoha Strong Fist stuff after he learns all the Shinobi basics. I hope he graduates soon. I wonder what team he'll be on… I guess he wouldn't be on Kaido-sensei's team… I sparred him the other day because of Kame… And he did pretty well for a student, I think..? Kame didn't join us, really. But I think… she might for the next one. Because Tatsuo-san wants to join… For some reason…
There was this new person, Ryuusei… I don't know who she is, but she smells a bit different… Odd… I'm not sure why, though. She's… quiet. A bit like me… Though I guess… She's worse? Or better? She only gets nervous around people and isn't scared of them. So I suppose that's better than what used to happen. I still… Still need to get used to strangers, but it isn't as bad… Ummm… Hige-kun is making me read out loud, so that's helping, I suppose? Umm… He said we should read to each other to help the other get used to talking to people… I guess that's a good idea. So I hope I can find Ryuusei-san and do this often.
There was a shinobi in jail from Kiri… She had red hair and green eyes, and she was a bit scary… Hige-kun made me heal her… So I did. And she was nice… I suppose. But it was a bit strange… I wonder who she is… She didn't like us much, though. I remember she was giving Hige-kun grumpy looks… Atorei-san was there, too… I wonder why… He smelled guilty, so I guess that means he wasn't a part of the guard duty? But why else would he be around? I also remember… The prisoner, I think Hige-kun called her 'Akane', smelled like poison… It smelled yucky…

I was coming home, and I wanted to give Hige-kun a present because it was his birthday… But I found out he was just rushing back and forth. I …. guess Ryuusei-san disappeared? I'm not sure why… I remember… she didn't like the Academy, though… Is it because of that? Hige-kun told me later that it was fine that she disappeared, though. He gave her permission. But the problem was she might have made people angry. I guess there was a letter about it? And it wasn't all that secret… Scary… I wonder if this is all a trap sometimes… But Hige-kun wouldn't let anything bad happen, right?

Ryuusei-san is going to stay in the Land of Tea with Shuuren-dono. I guess it's safer there. A bunch of… water… came and threatened her. She's not allowed to come back to Konoha anymore, I guess..? I'm not sure why, though… She didn't do anything wrong. And I think Daichi-kun will be kind of sad… Because he was friends with her, wasn't he? I'm going to miss her too, I suppose… But we really only read to each other….
The other day, Hiei-sama brought someone to the Inuzuka village. He … kind of looked like Hige-kun. Hige-kun was there, too. He's sorta taken over the village… Since Taiki-sama has been busy… And Atsuro-sama is in charge of the whole village. … Umm… Apparently… The person Hiei-sama brought to our village is Hige-kun's lost brother. But… He betrayed the village… So I guess he's not really that good of a person… I wonder what happened… I feel like I don't know anything that's going on…

Taiki-sama called council. The Elders are judge and jury, and the verdict against Inuzuka Osamu was guilty. Taiki-sama was scary during the trial… And so was Hige-kun… Everyone was so angry, even Kame-chan. He was decided to be interrogated, and then he would be killed after being erased from the records. I didn't like him… He said that his ninken was stupid for saving him… But I would do the same thing for Kame-chan… Why wasn't he upset?
Umm… Hiei-san, the Raikage, came to Konoha recently. And he's supposed to be good at lightning manipulation. And we ended up talking a bit about training, … Umm… Me and Daichi-kun were out eating Ramen. So then Hiei-san was there. And we ended up talking about the training… And ninjutsu was brought up… So Daichi-kun was going to learn how to use fire manipulation. And I was going to learn about lightning manipulation. Me and Daichi-kun sparred a bit, technically, against the Raikage. He made us show him what we knew. And then Hiei-san taught Daichi-kun the Fire Bullet Barrage. And he taught me Lightning Arc. It's kinda hard to do… Because you have to let the lightning flow instead of concentrating it. But I think I'll be able to get it down… Eventually. Kame can do it pretty well. But she uses the lightning needles that Hige-kun taught us more. By the end of the training session, I could hit a target, but it was still not as arcing and more shaky than Hiei-san's. Daichi-kun seemed to get the fire move right.
Umm… I've gotten sort of close to Daichi-kun lately… I think he's really nice… I trained with him a lot with genjutsu, and I think he's doing well with it… I think that Tatsuo-san and Hige-kun tease us about it, though… So I'm not sure if I really like him… Or if they just teased me a bit too much… Umm… I know that Kame approves, though. Maybe I should ask for some advice from Obaa-chan..? I think I like him… But… Umm… I mean, we fell asleep on a roof after a Zori incident…
Ummm… I forgot… But… I saw Daichi-kun sparring Zori, and I was worried… That Zori was going too far… So I hopped in. But then Zori wanted revenge, so… So he ended up hopping into a spar between Kyu-san, Daichi-kun, and me. We defeated him, but… I think I ended up hurting Zori too much… Maybe I should apologize… Or something… He really scares me, though… I dunno if I want to talk to him. Taiki-sama said I wasn't allowed to see him, anyways… So I guess I couldn't apologize anyways.

I've been working on four-legged lightning with Hige-kun. The stance is really hard, but I think I finally have it down. I used to wobble all over the place, but now I don't. I think I'm finally starting to get things! Umm… Oh, and I was talking again with Taiki-sama. Tsuna-san was there with Onyx-san too. Kame played with the other ninken a bit, and it was fun to watch. I asked Taiki-sama about Daichi-kun, and he said that he thought Daichi-kun was good. So I'm happy about that. I hope things keep working out well…
I also helped Suzu-san with some of her training. Umm… She's not that bad. I feel bad for putting her under genjtusu that one time… And I'm also helping Tsuna-san with his training. He said… he was having trouble with things… So I offered to help… Taiki-sama seemed to approve. And Soren-san… So I gues I did a good thing.
Also… I ran into someone… On a mission. They smelled familar. And then I noticed that… they were from that place. We caught them, though… Me and Tatsuo-san and Daichi-kun. I suppose… I have to deal with them soon… I just don't want to…
I was traveling with Kenta-san and Daichi-san. There was a mission. I guess… Umm… We had to go and help deliver something to the Land of Tea, and the merchant was sick. So we helped out. But when we were traveling, we were attacked by some people. I don't know who they were, but they wanted to take me away, apparently. Kenta-san and Daichi-kun kept them from taking me away, but… I wonder why they wanted to take me so badly. They had this sleeping gas with them, and then Kenta-san got me when they were trying to run away, but he was also able to kill the bandits. We ended up in the Land of Tea for a little bit. I mostly stayed in the room and slept. I also met someone new, though, when we were about to leave. His name was Akio-san. He seemed nice. And he sorta… went through what I did, too. At one point. So… I hope he's okay now.
Since we returned to Konoha, I've needed to stay in the village. I thought it would be fine… since I never really went on many missions anyway. But it's sort of boring. I wonder… I haven't done anything different, so maybe that's why? Or maybe because I know for sure that there's no incoming mission. I've been training, at least. I think I almost have this new technique down. Umm… It's hard to tell if it's working or not, though. But I'll know once I try it against someone. I just hope that someone isn't someone I like. I don't want that to happen… Maybe later I can train with Daichi-kun. We worked on ninjutsu together when the Raikage came to Konoha, so maybe we can work more on it together. I also want to work more on the lightning style Taijutsu. I finally can settle into the stance without falling over, so maybe I should find Hige-kun… oh, but he's in Kumo… he said something about visiting Zori.
Today was Valentine's day. Obaa-san said that I should do something special for people I like, so… I decided that I would do something special for Daichi-kun. He's always taking me out for food, even though I don't want him to. So I made him some chocolates. Or I tried… It didn't come out very well, though. I hope he doesn't mind… I bought some other chocolates so that he could at least have something edible. And then Kame-chan made me go invite him to the Teahouse so that we could sit down and eat. We didn't eat much, though… I think we were both feeling silly about this all. So we went to go train in ninjutsu when Taiki-sama appeared and he wanted to talk to us about the kidnapping thing. Umm… I didn't want to talk about it much, but he seemed to decide that we should talk about it later, so… That made me happy. And then I could train a bunch more with Daichi-kun, too. So we'll just talk about all that later.

| Four Legged Lightning | The skill to combine Lightning Manipulation with Four Legged Style. |
| Lightning Manipulation | Proof that the one in question can use Lightning Release. It may or may not be the primary affinity for a person. |
| Medic Nin | The ability to heal and harm the body through excessive knowledge on how it works. |
| Omega Genjutsu | Not necessarily a style, but a representation that the Human is from the Omega Clan and has a stronger genjutsu than others of the Inuzuka. It tends to have a 'canine' theme. |

| Kame's Intuition | B | The pup is able to work by herself, but it is better if she works with her partner. Kame's intuition during battle has grown, and she and her partner can communicate easily, allowing for warning to be given. |
| Kame's Experience | A | No longer relying on pure guess-work, Kame has learned to recognize the signs of an attack and help her partner change plans accordingly. The duo work well and in sync, with everything said and done. |
| Kame's Soul | S | The ultimate sign of the pair's bond. It takes nothing at all for them to be moving together and in sync. |
Shinobu has begun to master both her clan's taijutsu and her genjutsu. While Ninjutsu seems to be a struggle itself, the girl is working more on her chakra control, which has permitted her to help heal others (with limited effects).
After living in Konohagakure for several months, Shinobu has started to learn the basics that all Shinobi must learn. She has improved her Ninjutsu, to a degree, and honed her natural talent for Genjutsu into something that could be considered 'skilled'.
Shinobu has been trained in the martial arts exclusively. With no training using chakra or chakra control, she is unable to use it (effectively). At the moment, Ninjutsu or anything like it seems like a magical thing that she can only dream about or fear.
