Background |
Terrible things happen to good people sometimes. Life twists people into monsters of their past, bringing individuals to a darker path on their way towards eventual death. Inuzuka Hitomi was a girl with a name that meant little, if anything. She was born in Konoha, and lived there for many years of her young life. She was not always called Totoro. That was merely a name she derived for herself later in life. Her original name was Hitomi, which means pupil as a way to stick to the usual naming conventions of the Inuzuka. Her mothers name was Inuzuka Manako, her name meaning eye. Both of them were very close, especially since her father was an unknown entity. Having conjugated with another outside of the clan, Totoros mother wouldnt divulge the name of her father even to her. Not until she was far older, for the young girl wouldnt understand it anyways. She also had ninken, whose name was Koenmaru, whom was a gray puppy, almost like that of a wolf. She was only beginning to get close to her dog at this time, with the promise of a future in the Inuzuka clan seemingly bright and unmarred by ominous events. The chance to learn of her father or become a true member of her clan never came, and it was because of a certain event that caused her eventual spiral and separation from her clan. It all happened when her mother had taken her for a trip up to Kusagakure to witness the First World Ninja Tournament! In fact, her mother planned to participate! Their journey had taken them towards the Land of Rivers, a journey that would take an abrupt right along a major river to lead them right to the Land of Grass through Amegakure as if it were a road in itself. The countryside seemed peaceful, and the sound of the rolling rivers kept spirits high. Then it happened. She and her mother were attacked by unusually skilled bandits, who proceeded to remove the life from her mothers eyes. Totoros mother and her nin-ken were not able to fight the number of ninja that had come, but she was far too proud an Inuzuka to submit to their demands. Filled with weapons drawing blood from her body, she fell to the ground in mess, her last breaths telling her daughter to run. Even as they approached Totoro, her own nin-ken moved in front of her to defend her as the young girl was curled fearfully on the ground. Her Nin-ken was killed as the boots of the bandits crushed the young puppys neck, right in front of the scared little girl. Their only response to her curled form was laughter, and the promise that shed be useful to them, Little girl will fetch a few pennies, and she already looks thoroughly beat. We'll ransom her to her clan. Come on, boys." |
So she was treated like any wild animal, picked up by the collar of her shirt, and caged. Deeper into the land of rivers she was taken, and placed into a rather large and organized bandit establishment. There she was subject to foul treatments no human being, and especially no young girl should never be treated to. Harassment of all sorts plagued her. She would be beaten often, and cut into with blades to make an example out of her. She would be called terrible things, and subject to filthy conditions. She was only a young girl, and she eventually broke. A full year of these conditions, and no help came from her clan. They didnt even know anything had gone wrong until weeks after, and by that time the trail and grown cold. No one was coming to save her, and day in and out she was starved and beaten. When relief came, it was not at the hands of her clan. It was at the hands of shinobi from Sunagakure that came to end the bandits lives. Scared, she made not a sound or peep as she watched her tormenters killed by people who looked even scarier than they. She kept silent, and once left amongst the bodies of the dead by herself. Her hate of the civilized human reached its peak there. It was merely a day later, small girl sitting in hunger and watching the corpses from her cage that she saw her first wolf. A pack of them had come to return the corpses to the circle of life, by devouring them. She had gotten too close to the edge of her cage, and one happened to see her, approaching the cage. She sat face to face with the wolf for moments, before the wolf attacked the cage and managed to break through it. Death could have been inevitable right there. She could have been killed, but her body language was no longer human. The small cage she was in forced her to her hands and knees daily, and crouching was as high as she could go. She had become estranged to humanity so much, that at the moment the wolf looked upon her, she was no longer human or food fresher than the corpses outside. She was a blank canvas, cowering submissively. The young girl would, by chance, be adopted by this pack for a time. Her torment had become so great, that even the spirits of nature allowed her some reprieve. She would be raised a wolf for a very long time after that. |
There would be no speaking, writing, or even appreciation of art. She grew under the protection of this pack deep in the wilds for many years as she learned to hunt and fight as one of them. There was no mothers milk for her lips, there was only the hunt. If she did not participate, she learned quickly she would starve. She became one as a wolf, to live as one and eat as one. They became her surrogates, and the year she would have spent as a student was spent being wild. Her clothing that was an attachment of her former life fell apart, and in their place she loosely wore the skins of that she killed. From a clan of dogs did she shift back into the undomesticated wolf? Her Inuzuka senses caused her to thrive, and her presence among the wolves left her with no true skills that an Inuzuka would be raised with. She had to fight using relentless speed and force to bring the enemy to their knees. Those years of spending time with the wolves were proper training for a different type of style. In the end, Totoro adopted her final name before bringing herself out of the wilderness to use her skills. The name was adopted because it was the easiest way in her limited grasp of the language to express how the wolves she had lived with sounded when they howled… |
Description |
A woman that appears as a stunning example of untamed appears before you. Her face shows little regard for human life, as if the only thing keeping her from attempting to take yours is the fact that she cannot estimate whether you are easy prey or not. The canine features of the woman are enough to stop one's heart, her red eyes showing bridled rage and sparse compassion. Her black hair is unkempt, though signs of hair ornamentation that compliment her eyes are apparent. Their length reaches only her upper back. There are fang tattoos upon her cheeks, indicating the Inuzuka clan. There are also sharp fangs within her mouth, which are the more true indicators of her clan. Her body has a fair amount of musculature, enough to differentiate her from the normal woman. She has above average endowments to add to this, and stands at a rather tall 5'11". Totoro's clothing consists of a black sleeveless kimono that drapes past her hips and down to her knees. Such an outfit has clear disadvantages when it comes to her activities, thus she also wears a tight cotton shorts beneath for modesty's sake. The Kimono appears to be stitched in red, almost like lacing, but those are just repairs made to the garment as combat has Though her shoulders and upper arms lay bare, elbow-length long gloves, fingerless to make way for her claws, are set upon her arms. A red band hold an additional seeve upon it, white yet seemingly dyed in a washed out pink. Perhaps blood soaked the sleeves. Upon her feet are simple sandals, finishing this dangerous woman's outfit. |
