Kaguya Odori Takeshi was born to a family almost thirty years before the start of the great shinobi wars. His family was a well respected lineage within the kaguya clan and recognized for their unusual ability to control the effect the typical kaguya rage has on them while still being able to benefit from the added power. Due to this his family were slightly different from the main stream Kaguya and many looked down upon them for wanting to control the natural power they had been granted. Despite that fact they contributed to the clan in meaningful ways until Teshi came of age. At that time he was put through training and forced to fight in the clan wars.

The clan had hoped that by putting Takeshi through training, they would be able to break him and force his release of the full unmitigated power he held at bay. However, they failed. It seems that his family teachings had already prepared him for the times when people would attempt to overpower his consciousness to get at the power bubbling beneath. Once they saw how badly they had failed, they sent his entire family to the war in an effort to kill them off. It worked too. Every single member of his family soon met deaths surrounded by suspicion. Some suspected an inner working of a few familys from the clan to be the cause of their death instead of enemy shinobi. Whatever the cause, Teshi knew that he had been put on the front lines to be killed and he wasn't about to bow down.

Unfortunately, they failed and Takeshi continued to survive every encounter and every mission just to spite them. At the end of it all, they had the village and they were on a slick precipice that would either lead to a functioning world power or a disastrous attempt at being allies. Either way, once the wars were over, Takeshi semi-retired. He was older now and better suited to teaching and protecting the village itself. He got himself a walking stick and a nice little home and now spends his time teaching other shinobi and being an old man. However, there are many who still believe that he's playing old. No one is quite sure what exactly it is he's doing.

Personality

Takeshi has a full range of personalities. In a typical manner of Multiple Personality Disorder, he has established six different selves and yet seems to retain his original self in each one. While it could be said that he is six different people in one body, that is rarely the case, as each one seems to have no disconnect with the other. Either way, it's hard to tell which Takeshi will come knocking on your door from day to day.

As a person, Takeshi despises his clan name. So much in fact that he openly challenges anyone who calls him by the name Kaguya. He espouses a profound hate for the idiocy of his clan and the apparent disregard for life that is common amongst its members. To counter act that, he calls himself by his family name, Odori. There is nary a soul outside of Kirigakure that knows the man is Kaguya.

Otherwise, Takeshi's general personality is that of a caring, father like figure with a severe case of the lazies. Despite that, he manages to show up just in time to save the day or impart age old wisdom that will enable others to do the job for him. He favors thinking with his mind and is a master of meditation techniques, rumors going so far as to say he can willingly achieve a mind-body separation at his leisure, though these rumors are largely unproven.

As a fighter, Takeshi is multi-fold. He can roll the punches, absorb damage or simple evade it. He can be an in your face fighter, a long range ninjutsu fighter or a fighter that relies on stealth and perception to strike vital points. A very versatile taijutsuist, it is hard to pin him down with any one field of techniques. If he has any weakness at all, some will say it is seals, but it is unsure as to how much he knows of the world of seals.

New: There's a new Takeshi in town. one that is older, more serene and smart. Calmly taking his time to take in everything and react appropriately. He rarely fights now, only when it is deemed ceremoniously necessary or he deems it worthy of lifting his hand. he is an elder, his job is leading his people at the moment, not fighting wars.

Appearance

Standing at 5 feet even, the man before you features black, short, croppy hair and soft features that belie his age. His skin is noticeably smoother than most and his eyes are a deep greenish brown hue. The eyes themselves never seem to dart around at all and his entire stance speaks of a completely relaxed individual. However, the eyes do speak of questions that are pondered over constantly. His body is lien and muscular, obviously that of an athlete.

His forehead bears the mark of the Kaguya, the tattoo that has caused many lesser men to cower in fear from sight alone. Draping black robes flutter about in the breeze along with the white overcoat. The black robes simple and beneath them a set of thin, white clothes. The sash at his waist is old and simpler yet, but contains enough information in kanji to tell you about everything he has done and mark him as a clan elder of the kaguya.

Journal

Entry 1: Stupid Books

I didn't want to write in these stupid books. There's a whole pile of these things over by my doorway and I keep getting more. I have a sneaking suspicion of where they're coming from and well, I hope they're happy. I guess they want me to write things here. Perhaps so when I die they can read my innermost thoughts, the things I never said to them, or perhaps because they just want me to write for my future generation. It is getting that time and I would be the only one in the vault without a memento book. So maybe it's not all bad.

I guess we can start the entry off with the clan. Yoma is an interesting person. He's purely from the clan wars era. This new era of politics and peace doesn't suit him, but he's going to have to learn to adapt and soon. The structure doesn't suit him either. It's interesting talking to him because he only understands one form of strength: Outward. The Kaguya clan as they exist now is weak to him and he doesn't take the time to look past the outward and into the inward. It sounds corny, but inner strength is a lot harder to come by than muscles. Anyone can grow muscles after all, but not everyone can have inner strength. The Kaguya Clan of today has existed in the peace era however we haven't grown weak. We're simply sure. Plenty have called us weak and attempted to prove it. They've also failed every step of the way. As a clan, as a unit, we're stronger than ever and without the need of constant outward strength. Surety is a strength of its own.

But enough about that, the clan is doing fine. Also I have a granddaughter now. Yuriko. I use to think the most important thing in my world was my family, Aoi, Sumiya, Yuuji. Sorry guys, but you just got kicked to second place. Yuriko is absolutely the most important thing in my life. Yoma once told me I was incapable of protecting her. Of protecting my daughter Yuuka. I wanted to kill him for that. Still, I didn't. It wasn't that important. I know I have the strength to protect them but i'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting weaker. So perhaps I'm glad that Yoma has taken to them and it's good for Yuuka to have something to hold onto after Keisuke's untimely death.

About this weakness thing. It's strange. I guess I understand now why old shinobi become ambassadors and kage's. We're too old to go on missions. Every month I feel some of my strength slipping away. I have to train three times as hard as a genin just to keep my strength up and even that is becoming hard. I don't know how told me that aging was a good process, but they were full of crap. Aging sucks.

Relationships

+Odori Aoi

Aoi is special. On a mission to the land of waves he destroyed her home. He found her, standing near the edge of the village, rocking on her knees. She only looked at him, not sure whether to trust or hate him. It appeared she hadn't seen him destroy her home. Before anyone could kill her, he picked her up against orders and brought her home to his house. She was always his favorite, the quiet, calm and mannered one.

+Odori Sumiya

Sumiya was a thief. On a journey through land of fire she tried to steal from him. She never once gave up, no matter how hard he hit her. She did lose, consciousness slipped away and she was out for a day. He took her home, brought her to Aoi and Aoi patched up Sumiya. Takeshi adopted her and she quickly became his favorite sparring partner.

+Odori Akiko

Akiko was picked up from the land of wind. Half dead and clinging to life in the desert, Takeshi took pity on the girl and brought her with him, slowly nursing her back to health. When they reached Kirigakure, the girl seemed to have lost her memory. Takeshi, Aoi and Sumiya decided to give her all new memories, slowly but surely.

+Odori Yuuji

Yuuji came out of no where and tried to kill Takeshi. Takeshi was impressed by his lack of fear and took him in. Yuuji is now a contributing member of the Odori family.

+Odori Kaguya Keisuke

Takeshi had always blamed himself for what happened to Keisuke as a child. While he will never tell Keisuke this is the reason he has seen to adopting so many people into his family and caring for them, It is the reason that Keisuke is surrounded by people Takeshi picked up off the streets on his travels. Takeshi is beyond proud of his son, more so even than he can put into words without cracking up.

Recently, Keisuke was named Head of the Odori Household since he was finally settling down. Keisuke was also given his choice of any weapon in the Odori vault, a long standing tradition of the family.

+Kurenko Sekisetsu

Sekisetsu is the niece of Kurenko Niyami and has been adopted by Takeshi as an unofficial daughter. Taking her under his wing, he seeks to teach her various forms of martial arts and most importantly help her learn how to control her demon.

Extremely protective of the girl, which is both a good and bad thing if you ask Niyami, he has no qualms with trading his life for hers.

+Kurenko Niyami

Kurenko Niyami is the clanhead of the Kurenko clan. While the Kaguya as a whole had little to no interaction with the Kurenko, Takeshi's family, the Odori, had contact with them through missions and other activities.

Niyami and Takeshi became acquainted through a single mission and a bloody duel that resulted in a tie between the two. From that day on, they became blood brothers, swearing their loyalty on the blood from that duel and the blood they'd loose from then on together.

When Sekisetsu was born, it was Takeshi who organized the official 'Niyami Congratulations Party' and it was there that Takeshi was unofficially dubbed Uncle Odori to the newly born Sekisetsu. In a lightning fast attempt to stop any future embarrassment, Takeshi threatened Niyami with blindness if he told Sekisetsu to call him Uncle Odori. Since then the title is used by Niyami to annoy Takeshi to no end.

+Okumo Meruin

A rather misguided Okumo who apparently wants to rule the world. Takeshi keeps his as close as possible knowing full well that the Okumo would turn and kill him in his sleep, but that this Okumo would never kill him face to face.

It is a mixed friendship, one fraught with perils and brotherhood.

Being as it's obvious that he and Sekisetu now have more than a friendly relationship, Takeshi is putting up with this Okumo more than usual and even resigning himself to protecting the okumo when necessary.

Additionally, he was recently made an honorary kaguya by the elder.

+Kaguya Mitsuo

Mizukage of Kirigakure and outstanding fighter, Takeshi fought alongside Mitsuo when he was still just another Kaguya warrior. Having been responsible for the deaths of the Odori kinsmen save Takeshi, their relationship would have logically seemed to taper off but instead remains friendly, albeit jaggedly close to the edge of a war.

Mitsuo has been missing a long time now. Dead? No. Hiding out on an island with babes? Yes.

+Kaguya Tsun

For all intents and purposes, Tsun is probably the only Kaguya who doesn't automatically cringe at the mention of Takeshi's name, at least, not for the same reasons the rest do. Ever since she entered his class he knew that she was special. It was so painfully obvious from how quickly she learned techniques to the sheer amount of chakra reserves held in her body. It wasn't until later he found out about her gift and rather than grilling the girl about it or stamping her with a refused due to danger stamp, he stays close rather than far away. While Mitsuo merely sees the girl as a weapon, Takeshi sees the girl as a girl and tries his best to appease her needs and random wants.

Kaguya Tsun was also adopted by Takeshi into the Odori family.

+Yamayuki Kazuki

Kazuki came to Kirigakure following a mission to rescue the deserter from Kumogakure lands. Apparently, he has decided that Kirigakure is more his roll in life and while Takeshi doesn't trust him to even pick up milk from the store, he at least tolerates him since Mitsuo seems to have some deep seated plan for the kid. In day-to-day interactions, Takeshi says little to Kazuki but answers any inquiries readily as to not give the impression of dislike. Perhaps one day Kazuki could earn his trust, but for now, A cold shouldered takeshi is the best he gets - Or is it?

Takeshi hasn't seen this on in a long time either. Probably hiding out or the Okumo finally killed him. Either way!

+Kaguya Yasushi

Generally, Takeshi has little to do with any member of the Seven Swordsmen and thinks of them as nothing more than uncontrolled idiots who do whatever the even more idiotic daimyo wants them to. Yasushi is the exception to this rule. Yasushi seems to have at least some human side and for all intents and purposes doesn't just blindly follow the idiotic pleas of the daimyo. This gains him brownie points with Takeshi. That and his care taking of Kaguya Yuuka - Or it would, if he didn't think the man was abusing Yuuka.

Well damn. He ran off. Who knows where to, who knows if he ever comes back. If he does, Takeshi will have to slap him a good one for Yuuka's sake. Turns out she really missed the big lug.

+Kaguya Yuuka

Takeshi has made it his personal mission to release Kaguya Yuuka from Yasushi's influence. It is obviously not doing her any favors with whatever training he's giving her. At least, from Takeshi's point of view, Yuuka is being cruelly stripped of her time in Kirigakure and most importantly of her freedom. To takeshi, the two things that make an amazing shinobi amazing are their freedom and their past experiences. If one is not allowed experiences, one never learns and cannot grow as a shinobi. Takeshi will fix this in his own way through mission invites and involving her in as many activities as possible.

When Yasushi ran off, Yuuka was depressed for a long time, but it was Takeshi who took her in and clothed her, giving her a place in his home and people who cared for her. She is basically an Odori now and will always be Odori.

+Kaguya Nori

He isn't entirely sure yet what to make of Nori. Nori seems nice of enough, even if he does have a tinge of 'i want to kill you' in his eyes. Still, fun to have around!

Nori decided to declare himself separate from the Kaguya clan. That works, since Nori is much like he use to be, Takeshi understands the reasoning and works to ignore it. It's not up to him and this is something Nori has to want.

+Kaguya Takehiko

Yuuka's chosen interest or something. Either way, Takeshi doesn't really know much about him, but tolerates him because he seems to like Yuuka and Yuuka seems to return the feelings. However, Takeshi tends to test him at every opportunity. Something about caring about Yuuka.

What? Where the hell did this guy go? He owes him a death for making Yuuka sad again.

+Daeshiro, Maikeru

Maikeru is a jounin, someone that washed up on the shore of Kirigakure and then built a giant house. While conventional wisdom says Takeshi should be all up in this dude's face because he's an outsider…He isn't. Hell, he's not that bad a guy.

+Shirayuki, Hikan

Hikan is a student of Mitsuo like Takeshi and they grew up around each other - or rather, Hikan grew up around Takeshi. Takeshi feels that Hikan is a friend and fellow student, someone that can be trusted and someone that he will support - even if they haven't always seen eye to eye.

+Suzaku, Yuri

Yuri…Okay, she''s okay with him…if only because she's…Yeahhh…Hot? Yeah, we'll just say hot.

+Tachiro, Sakura

Sakura came out of no where. He knew she existed, had never met her and WHAM, he finds out she's not a bad person. She's actually pretty fun. So far so good, Takeshi has a great impression of her and would trust her to guard his back any day.
