Uzumaki Rana's past isn't that much of a pleasant one. Her earliest memory is of her family fleeing from an Uchiha squad that the group of Uzumaki her parents were traveling with wound up at odds with on a mission. The Red Moon of Tsukuyomi trapping all of them in its grasp, its image burning itself along with the Uchiha's eyes permanently into Rana's mind, was certain to be their utter downfall had a group of Kaguya not been at odds with that same group. Most of them perished, but Rana and her mother Raina managed to hang on through the time the Kaguya chased the Uchiha off despite both being dealt grievous injuries.

Whether by kindness or by their seeing the merit of having an Uzumaki among their forces, the Kaguya brought Raina and Rana back to their home and tended to their wounds. Both of them had suffered rather bad injuries, Raina's being particularly debilitating, but they would live, though Raina's existence would be cut short and her days rather painful.

With the years she had left, Raina spent them raising Rana as kindly as she could while preparing her for harsh years to come. They finally got a stroke of luck when the Hidden Villages formed, allowing them to move with their new family into Kirigakure. There she would be raised in an environment that, while not exactly sunshine and roses, would be alot safer than growing up in the Era of the Warrings States.

As she grew older, Rana began to notice that injured people were often brought to her mother after missions and battles and would leave basically fully healed. This seemed incredibly odd since Raina herself was basically bedbound due to her lingering injuries, but Rana did her best not to question it. One night, though her curiosity got the better of her and she peeked in on a group of shinobi that had come to the small house they lived in in the Kaguya Village in Kirigakure and saw something pretty disturbing.

The shinobi that had come to visit were actually BITING her mother one after another. A young Rana, only about five years old at this point, was pretty horrified and ran in to try and stop them. Raina, however, stopped her and explained what she had been hiding from her for a long time. Due to their clan heritage and her healing abilities as a Medical Ninja, Raina had the ability to heal even the most serious of injuries almost instantly by allowing the patient to bite her. It was kind of scary for her to find out, but also pretty cool. Rana's mind slowly went from horror to pride that, despite her disabilities and the pain she had to constantly be in, her mother was doing her best to help the people that helped them and gave them a home.

Rana's favorite place to visit in Kirigakure when she was a girl was the Boneyard Gardens. It seemed to be the most beautiful place in the village, always maintained well and respected. She was told not to play around there, but it was still fun to visit and just look around and smell the flowers and such while paying respects to the Kaguya that had fallen and those that paved the path for the village. It was in this place that she met a boy named Senichi that was hanging around the gardens with his father Shin. They played for a few hours while Shin was doing some work there before parting ways, and Rana decided that she would introduce her mother to her new friend.

It was very difficult for Raina to pull herself from bed and move around, but Rana making her first friend in the village was important enough that she made the effort. As luck would have it, Shin had accompanied Senichi to the gardens again. The two children played while their parents spoke, finding out that both of them had been widowed and left single parents by the Clan Wars. They talked for hours while the children played and decided to meet again and then again until it became obvious to even Rana and Senichi that the two had become an item.

After about a year of courting, Shin and Raina married. Despite knowing her life would not be as long as his own by a longshot unless he died in battle, he wanted to give her what devotion he could while she still lived. The two families became one and bought a new larger house that they could all live in comfortably and just enjoy life. Raina worried often about Shin being gone on missions and how that would leave their children if he died before she did, but she never asked him to give up his life as a shinobi because she knew it meant a lot to him. Luckily enough he was strong and, though he suffered injuries sometimes, he was never fatally injured in battle. Life was simple and happy enough for them even in a dark place like Kirigakure, and that was just how they liked it.

As the years for the new family went on, the time came to begin preparing the children for life as shinobi. Along with entering them in the academy, both parents took the time to train them. While Rana's injuries kept her from being really much good at Taijutsu and she never practiced Genjutsu, Shin showed her how to start slowly building her muscular structure back up while training Senichi to be a Taijutsu master like other members of his clan. Raina taught both of them Ninjutsu, which would, become Rana's specialty. She even began teaching her about medical jutsu before she even became a Genin to give her an advantage that would make her useful as a shinobi despite her shortcomings with some jutsu. Their opposite strengths and weaknesses made them competitive, even giving them something of a rivalry, but they were always cautious not to do any real damage to each other, especially Senichi since he didn't want to stir up Rana's injuries from before.

When the time came for their Genin test, Rana and Senichi both did quite well. Senichi used pure Taijutsu prowess to overcome the Blood Marsh creature he was pitted against. Rana herself had to be a bit more wily and used stunning seal jutsu to bind the creature she fought up and blast it to oblivion. In the end both of them graduated. Both of them were battle-scared, but it was a happy occassion and they ran home to show their parents their new hitai-ate.

Happiness, however, could not last forever. When the two got back, Shin informed them that Raina's health had taken a turn for the worse while they were gone. She had only moments to live, and so they gathered around to say their goodbyes. Once they had done so, she passed on and would be laid to rest in the Boneyard Gardens with the Kaguya Clan, where their family had begun.

After some time went by, Shin felt it was time for Rana to be given the gift that Raina had left for her in passing. Raina had taken her free time while Shin was on missions and the children were in the academy and created a small library of scrolls of jutsu for Rana that were from her personal moveset as well as some that she had purchased elsewhere. This was done in hope that Rana would become a strong shinobi in her own right and give her something to remember that she would have her mother's support even after she was gone. Shin, of course, would oversee her training, though he would call in Ninjutsu experts from the village to assist at times.

Rana and Senichi were both soon placed on ninja teams in Kirigakure and would perform missions for several years learning to be shinobi as great as they could. Senichi would outrun her a bit. Due to his physical strength and ability to perform more types of missions because of that and showing of leadership skills, he became the first of them to become a Chuunin. Rana was a little jealous, but she was also happy for her step-brother to have accomplished that.

Another thing that made Rana glad was that Kirigakure started sending her on some missions with Senichi as Ninjutsu and Medic support. Their friendly rivalry made things fun, and it pushed her to get stronger. She even managed to secretly master her mother's healing jutsu that scared her as a child, Heal Bite, along with some jutsu with the Uzumaki's chains and seals.

Rana's skills finally received a test on a rather dangerous mission in the Land of Rain with a number of Kirigakure shinobi teams when she and Senichi were fifteen. They ran into a large number of Amegakure shinobi and the entire team wound up inured. Despite her own injuries, Rana allowed or rather told Senichi and the others to bite her to heal themselves, which, at her level of the jutsu, took a number of times and severely drained her. They were worried about doing damage to her… and their worries were founded because pushing herself so hard did some serious damage to her that set back her physical rehabilitation and even damaged her chakra system to the point it would take some time to recover. Her actions, however, helped Kirigakure to overcome the Amegakure shinobi and accomplish their mission.

For her leadership and effort in helping to accomplish that mission, Rana was set to be promoted to Chuunin. However, due to her injuries and the recovery time that would be required, she was temporarily removed from shinobi work. She had to rest for some time before she would even be allowed to begin to rehabilitate. Once that period had passed, however, she got right to work getting herself back in shape to go on missions again.

It took quite a while, in fact two years, before she had recovered enough to be reinstated. She was given a physical by the village to evaluate her for duty, and, once she had passed, she was reinstated and given the promotion she had been waiting for for two years. Since then she has begun going on missions again, some with her brother again and others she has actually begun to lead.

You may also just put in a picture if you would rather not write a description.

Relationships

This is a section for listing people your character knows or has connections to, whether they be other player characters or non-player characters. To add more tabs to the Relationships collapsible, just copy and paste the unmodified tab sections that already exist, and rename the "[[tab Group 1]]" to the name of the new tab or tabs you are making. For instance, you can rename Group 1 to "Family", Group 2 to "Friends", and a new tab to "Enemies/Rivals". You may delete this text when you have read it.
