Background
From birth Tsiro found trouble. While his eyes were the typical red found in the clan, his hair was black as night, though if one looked closer they would find a heavy silvery tint. Being as his parents were already unstable, this caused things to become worse between the two. Combined with their Kaguya blood and pride, neither side liked to back down. Often times these altercations ended with one of them knocking the other out cold. That was until Tsiro's third birthday.
On Tsiro's third birthday, he witnessed an altercation between his parents. The altercation ended with his father being killed by his mother's kekkei genkai. His mother followed to the next world almost moments later. The boy was found a day later and sent to live with his uncle.
His uncle served as a Chuunin to the village for a while and was definitely just as unstable as Tsiro's father. While the reason has never been exactly clear, the Uncle treated Tsiro as a punching bag. It was there that Tsiro grew strong and even where he practiced most of his taijutsu during his years in the academy.
Unlike other students, Tsiro only practiced his Taijutsu. He never learned the basics like the clone jutsu or the substitution jutsu. He also had no friends. If he was not practicing his taijutsu on other students, the boy remained distant from others. At first his teachers saw a lot of promise in him, though as time went on they began to wonder if he would pass the final exam.
For the final exam, the teachers selected a student, who had a high success rate of escaping Tsiro, to be his partner. The two boys were taken to the Blood Marsh and pitted against a giant Crocodile. The battle went on for hours and when it was finished, only Tsiro left alive. The kid had taken a beating but proved to have a higher level of endurance.
Only a few days after graduation, Tsiro found a sensei to further his shinobi training. Her name was Kaguya Yuuka. He found her different from the rest of the clan in that she did not look down on him for his feelings about the clan. A few days later she accepted him as her student.
Shortly after his graduation war broke out between Kirigakure and Konohagakure. Tsiro's first mission was a recon mission under Okumo Meruin. That mission turned into a total failure on his part. The start of the mission went well. Even after he and the Okumo had been attacked by five leaf shinobi. He had easily kept up with two Uchiha Genin from the Leaf. The mission ended for him when he slipped up and was burned to a near crisp by those two girls. His life should have ended there, except due to an interference on Okumo Meruin's part. He was healed just enough to make it back to camp for medical attention. Meruin held all five shinobi at bay. That defeat caused Tsiro to understand the need for other jutsu. It also fueled the boy to further his own Taijutsu.
Due to some combination of Yuuka's training and the boy's sheer tenancity, others began to notice pair's results. Despite low chances of success, the pair managed to turn total failures into partial successes. Things like stealing a supply wagon of medical supplies. One wagon may have made it to Konohagakure's forces but the other was being used to aid the Mist Village. It was during one of these supply raids that Tsiro was taken hostage by a member of the Nara clan. Yuuka decided to let the caravan pass in exchange for his life.
With a growing success rate, Tsiro was no longer being selected for missions as cannon fodder. Now they actually sent him into battles that required success. These missions usually varied. A few involved blocking off supply roots from Kumogakure to Konohagakure. One mission involved recon deep in enemy territory. Tsiro managed to scout the gate of the Hidden Leaf Village only to be discovered by Inuzuka Taiki. While he did battle with the Inuzuka, Okumo Daomi tried to work a date with one of the Leaf's female Aburame. The battle was short with Tsiro emerging victorious. The pair then returned with the information from their mission. Daomi never did get a second date to Tsiro's knowledge.
Tsiro had been reassigned to a task force that sought to destroy a bridge. The destruction of the bridge cut off the naval forces of Konohagakure. It was a huge blow to the joint enemy forces. During the mission, Tsiro was engaged on the beach by a shinobi who entangled him in some form of wrap and then kicked him in the face before retreating from the field of battle. Tsiro had become so enraged that his Shikot activated. Though his Shikot had activated, the enraged Tsiro was unable to hit his next target which happened to be Shirokiri Rise of Kumogakure. The bridge was blown up and the forces of Kirigakure retreated.
In the final days of the war, Tsiro met Uchiha Naru on the battlefield for a second time. The battle took place on the outskirts of the Fuuma Basin inside an abandoned temple. Again Tsiro, under the command of Okumo Meruin, faced off against two Leaf shinobi. The difference though was that he had become adept at using his Shikot. He easily bested both of them. The battle officially ended when Meruin decided to attack everyone with acid, including Tsiro. Due to the inevitable victory, Tsiro swiped Uchiha Naru's forehead protector as a personal trophy. It was a sign he had over come his weakness.
For Tsiro, life in the village was so much different after the war. Things continued to go well for himself and the Kaguya Clan. Kaguya Keisuke had returned to the village. He was the wielder of the executioner's blade. One of the famous seven swordsmen. It seemed he had taken a liking to Tsiro's sensei, Yuuka. He tagged along for many missions and became like another member of the team. In a sense Yuuka had become like a mother to Tsiro and Keisuke was starting to look like a father in his own right.
Training became a large part of Tsiro's home life. Yuuka had specifically shown him ways to train alone. During his time training near the black sands outside the village he was confronted by an old rival. Her name was Shirokiri Rise. She attacked him like a girl possessed. It mattered little. His skills had grown enough to easily outclass her. He left her there a beaten and bloodied mess. The war had only ended for some.
Another part of his life became staying away from home. Tsiro no longer felt like fighting with his uncle. On one of the walks he was confronted by yet another rival. This time it was Uchiha Naru who had tracked him down. She flung a few accusations and then attacked him near the lake inside the village. Just like Rise, she was no match for his skills. He left her unconscious in the shallow waters. Two visiting shinobi had intervened before he could decide if he wanted to take her life.
There were also rivalries forming inside the village. Kaguya Yui had tried to order Tsiro around due to her status as a Chuunin. In typical Kiri fashion, Tsiro beat her senseless. Though she truly hated to admit defeat, her attitude towards Tsiro changed. Another notable rivalry was Kaguya Kiku. Despite Tsiro being clearly out of her league, she continued to try and surpass him. On several occasions she refereed to him as a "Mini Keisuke". During a mission where Tsiro went toe to toe with an escaped convict, Kiku punched out the supports for the floor in the basement. She successfully dropped a house on the young boy and his target.
The first set of promotion exams were held in Sunagakure. Tsiro had advanced all the way through the Shikot to the Dance of the Larch. Despite this he opted not to take the exams due to the fact he had never been to the Land of the Wind. His sensei Yuuka, whom had recently become pregnant, wanted to participate. Keisuke only allowed her participation once it was assured by a medical professional that their unborn child would be safe. So in support of Yuuka, both Keisuke and Tsiro travelled to the Village Hidden in the Sand.
Yuuka took part in the exams but dropped out early due to a poisoned water supply. The trio of Kaguya were then summoned to a home and given a black ops mission. The mission was to kidnap and smuggle a specific target out of the country while making it look like the kidnappers were from the Leaf Village. From planning to execution, the mission took some work. The three managed to pull it off flawlessly. Before the exams had even ended they were aboard a smuggler's ship heading for home.
Once they had arrived home, no one spoke of the mission. The girl was taken and the trio was sent on their way. Like it never happened. There were no pats on the back or quiet thumbs up signs or anything. It seemed almost like the people pulling the strings were not from the Mist village.
Tsiro had been wandering around near the Kyuusen Fortress when he saw a familiar face. Rise had just been promoted to Chuunin. She was on her first mission with her new team. Like usual she attacked him. Like usual, he beat her until she could not stand. This time though he did it in front of her newly formed team.
The next actual mission Tsiro got to go on was the defense of a large resort building. The place had been built up like a fortress. There were bombs in the water and barbed wire fences. Tsiro never really knew what was there that the enemy was after but he knows the enemy showed up for whatever it was. They sent a small task force. One that was easily repelled until the Akimichi Jounin got serious. At that point the few Kiri forces defending that wing of the resort were forced to flee.
The truth of the matter was that the black ops mission had never been sanctioned by the Mist village. The girl being kidnapped was the next in line to become the Fire Daimyo. The Leaf village had actually been framed for the kidnapping. The resort held the girl. It was attacked by a joint task force to free her.
Despite the fiasco of the mission, it opened doors for Tsiro. Soon he had been recruited into the Hunter Nin program. The news had been delivered by the elder Takeshi. The decree came down from the new Mizukage. Tsiro never truly understood the old man. He also never understood the previous Mizukage. Both seemed crazy but in different ways. After spending more time training with Takeshi, the perceptions in Tsiro's mind started to change.
Yuriko's birth came at a very busy time for Tsiro. While Yuuka had been on maternity leave, Tsiro had been learning to play in the shadows. It was a secret life that allowed him to escape the normal one. Things appeared to be going well but that was short lived. Unfortunately news would arrive only days after Yuriko's birth that her father, Kaguya Odori Keisuke had been killed in action. Keisuke had been kind of like an adopted father. A scary, freakishly tall father with one of the seven legendary swords. Due to Tsiro's lack of positive interaction with male figures, the two never really bonded. He saw the pain it caused Yuuka though. For the first time, he seemed to care about the feelings of others. He had found people that he wanted to protect.
A blow had been dealt to the village, though things were starting to look up for Tsiro's career. He had already learned quite a bit in the Hunter Nin program. One day the Mizukage summoned him. Despite feeling that he was going to be on the receiving end of an ass chewing, Tsiro went. Things turned out pretty well. He entered the office as a Genin and left as a Chuunin. He had also been given something else. His first Hunter Nin assignment. Tsiro had naturally wanted to participate in the 2nd Chuunin exams, but the recent death of Keisuke seemed to change his perception of duty vs desire. He wanted to fight on a stage infront of people. The village had other needs. At that moment it needed him to accompany Yuuka to the Land of Fire as more of an ANBU role.
The success of Tsiro's career did not stop as a Chuunin. There was a lot of work to do and few shinobi to do it. He began to do mission after mission by himself. Many of his missions pitted him against people from Konohagakure. On one of these missions, Tsiro boarded a ship with an assignment to kill the politician and his family aboard it. The team guarding the man and his family tried to subdue Tsiro. The Yamanaka team leader tried to enter Tsiro's mind but obviously did not care for what he found on the inside. Tsiro then completed his mission.
Often times when Tsiro worked near the Land of Fire, he would venture home through the neutral zone and then catch a ship heading due east for the Mist Village. This was not the quickest way home but the most likely not to be followed. This time he happened upon one of the members from the team he defeated on the ship. The girl's name was Chiaki. She was a beast fist user and obviously unhappy with her current village. After some kind words, she agreed to defect to the Mist village. Unfortunately the Yamanaka team leader tracked them down. He insulted Chiaki several times. Enough so that Tsiro took offense. That night there was one less member of the Yamanaka clan. Upon arrival to the village, the Mizukage accepted her into the village. She became Tsiro's first student.
Soon the second Chuunin Exams would begin. Like the first, there was a Jounin exam held with them. Tsiro figured most of the Chuunin would jump at this chance. He was wrong. Only Kitaru and Kiku had joined. Tsiro had reservations about both. He had previously worked with both of them. In the past, Kiku took the foundation of a house out while Tsiro had been fighting a criminal in the house. She had been jealous of his ability and the lack of her own. Even the week before the exams she had mouthed off to him. He beat her senseless inside Takeshi's home. The elder really did not appreciate the damage. Kitaru on the other hand was someone Tsiro could work with. He hated Genjutsu users in general but always found himself working beside them. Together the three formed a team.
In the survial round of the exam, the team faced Naru once more. Kitaru had started a battle with her. Tsiro showed up to find him losing badly. He quickly evened the playing field and together they beat her. Her defeat gave him his second scroll. Tsiro wanted to end her. She had grown strong and became a threat to his success. A mystery figure stepped in on her behalf and the two mist shinobi decided to save the battle for another day. After that Tsiro became separated from the other two. As he made his way towards the completion point of the exam, he ran into another rival named Rise. Unlike Naru, Rise had never beaten him. He had destroyed her on several occasions. Most of which she failed to even touch him but continued to not learn her lesson. This meeting was no different. He put her down easily and then made it to the extraction point without the others.
Tsiro had made it to final round of the exams. The tournament. Kitaru had been killed in the survival round. Tsiro felt bad but it was not something he truly would grieve over. In the first match Tsiro faced one of Konoha's Chuunin. He was from the Hyuuga clan and very skilled. He managed to evade most of Tsiro's blows using his Byukugan. In a final ditch effort to disable him, Tsiro used the Clematis Vine attack followed by the Dance of the Clematis. In a matter of minutes the Hyuuga admitted defeat.
In the second match Tsiro faced his old rival Naru once more. This time there was no one to help him fight her. Tsiro started the match with a lot of aggressive movement. Naru had planned for such and took advantage of it. In the end it would come down to the combination of the Vine and the Dance of the Clematis. She had drained Tsiro's stamina using Genjutsu, but he had worked a massive hole into her stomach. She was barely able to stand. With the whip raised for the final blow, Tsiro asked the proctor to call the match. If he would not, she would not survive. Then her eyes changed. It was some advanced form of Sharingan. Luckily before she could use it, the proctor had agreed with Tsiro and declared him the victor. Barely able to stand, Tsiro decided to give the forehead protector back that he had taken from her. Naru was not happy. She hated to lose.
The last round of the Tournament had him fighting Reizei Ogo from Kumogakure. The match was not even close. Ogo beat the day lights out of the Kaguya infront of his own people. Tsiro continued to get back up each time he was knocked down. He threw attack after attack even though defeat was certain. Right before the end the match Ogo impaled him with a blade. Tsiro continued to fight and managed to catch Ogo with the larch bones protruding from his back. It was a personal victory but not enough to be declared the victor. After that Tsiro conceded the match. He had placed second in the Jounin Exams. When the results came back, Tsiro was promoted to Jounin of the Mist. He had not even spent a full year as a Chuunin.
Once things went back to normal, Tsiro continued to do his expected missions. Between them though he was training new members of Anbu and Hunter Nin. It was around this time that Okumo Meruin had returned to the village. Under his code name of Yari, which had been given to him by the Hunter Nin Yuri, Tsiro trained the recently promoted Jounin. He bestowed him with the code name of Fukiya to continue the tradition.
Things had been fairly peaceful in the village. Tsiro had worked with several other shinobi including the now swordsman Aoitsuki of the Shirayuki clan. He also worked with another swordsman named Ishino but he never joined the seven himself. No peace can last forever. A Kaguya uprising began. The leader of the rebellion had threatened Yuriko's safety in an attempt to get Yuuka to step down as an elder. This only infuriated Tsiro. He left the leader's second in command impaled to an outside wall of the local tavern. Tsiro carved a one into his forehead. The Kaguya supporters of the rebellion then seemed to have had a change of heart. It seemed a little violence was all it took. It was the first of a long line of bodies. The leader of the rebellion ended up fleeing to a safer location somewhere outside the Land of Water after a group of Yuuka's friends attacked him. The rebellion had ended for now.
After the clan rebellion there was a bit more fall out within the village. A Shirayuki heir named Katsurou had gone to Konoha. He had been marked as a missing nin but no order was given to hunt him. Eventually there was one to bring him back. Tsiro and Ishino were sent to capture him. Upon their arrival, they met with Tsiro's old nemesis Naru. The battle was long and she had managed to outclass both Tsiro and Ishino. It was only in the end that through their combined strength they were able to bring her down. This time though, Tsiro had no desire to kill her. He found a villager to take her to a hospital. He had somehow managed to best her again. He was not sure why or what caused him to spare her. Katsurou had been returned to the village.
While Tsiro was away on a mission, Meruin would take over as the Mizukage. It was a surprising move. The people had grown unhappy with the lack of movement on specific issues during Yuge's rule. Someone had entered the village and placed seals on a group of children. These seals aged them several years. For the most part things calmed down and a peaceful time began.
Tsiro still had plenty of work. Once more Katsurou left the village. This time he did so blatantly with a kunai and a note declaring his decision. Yari was dispatched to hunt the Shirayuki prince. He caught up with him in the neutral zone. Infront of the Shirayuki's new apprentice, Yari took his head. He then knocked the young boy out and destroyed the Shirayuki's body. He returned to Kirigakure with the young boy, who then went on to join the village.
On a mission in the neutral zone, Tsiro happened to pass by Rise. He ignored her and continued to walk right past her. She was upset and demanded respect. This lead to the two of them tearing up part of fuuma basin. They beat each other half to death. As the dust settled, Rise was missing an arm and left hanging by the other arm off of a warehouse. Tsiro was not much better off. He was still completely in tact but now he had to run before the authorities got there.
Things were quiet for a long time. Maybe a year or People did not defect from the village and missions were plentiful. Tsiro spent his time trying to teach the Genin of the village how to act. He found them difficult to deal with. Even Meruin's own team had issues working together. This including his sensei's daughter Yuriko. The overall lack of being able to put aside ones differences to complete a mission infuriated him. Soon though he would have a place to take out his anger. Meruin had decided to host a tournament in the village.
The Steel Soul Tournament invited fighters of all ages and skills to the village. There they were split into four brackets. Tsiro was placed in the legendary bracket along with the likes of Rise and Ishino. Each combatant in the bracket had to face two others. His first match was against Rise. The results were the same as the majority of matches before. Tsiro picked up the victory. He then moved on to face Ishino. The match was a quick one. In the end Tsiro remained standing. He was the only one of the four combatants that won both his matches.
For the final round, Tsiro faced off against Rise again. This battle was gruesome and pushed both fighters over their limits. Rise refused to be ignored. The match was extremely close but came down to Tsiro's Dance of the Seedling Fern. Rise ended up impaled at several points and bleeding out. He had sent her to death's gate once more. Rise would survive the battle only to be rewarded with two new prosthetic legs and a new arm to match the other one he had given her. Tsiro was crowned champion of the Steel Soul Tournament.
The arena had proven over and over to be a home for Tsiro. Ever since he was a boy, he had enjoyed fighting in front of the people. Deep down he had hoped it would not be his last tournament.
Several times Tsiro returned from missions only to find a lack of leadership in the Village of the Mist. While some shinobi blatantly went rogue others just left to do their own thing. Amongst those who left was Kirryu Kiyoshi. He was the host of the Five Tails Bijuu. Things were in a bad state.
Not long after, Tsiro was chosen for the position of Mizukage. Once more it came down to a decision of the village's needs versus Tsiro's desires. While he had grown comfortable in the freedoms he had before, he accepted the position. It was time to focus on the future of the village.
The first order of business for Tsiro was to place a chain of command. This resulted in the Triad Leadership Policy. Former Seven Swordsman, Doihara Ishino was granted position of Head Jounin. The wielder of the Kiba blades, Kaguya-Hozuki Yoichi was granted the position of Head Hunter. For a brief while this triad policy seemed to work. That is until Yoichi turned traitor and attacked the village. It was a major set back.
For the first time in his life, Tsiro was unable to go hunt the enemies of the village freely. Instead the former Mizukage, Okumo Meruin returned to the village. He headed up the task force to take down Yoichi and the Storm Brigade. Immediately upon his return, he was raised to the newly vacant position of Head Hunter.
Through combined efforts, Yoichi and the Storm Brigade fell. The former Mist shinobi had taken Okumo Kiji captive. Upon her release, she was deemed a traitor and declared rogue. Okumo Kiji was then sent out into the world with a team of shinobi on her heels. Tsiro believed that at one point the rogue, Jinchuuriki Kirru Kiyoshi had loved Kiji. It was his plan to use that bond to draw him out into the open.
Though the plan took a little longer than Tsiro expected, he never could have guessed where they would find their missing Five Tails. The team was lead to the doorstep of Iwagakure. Now on the verge of war, things become a little more intense. After a few weeks of waiting a team managed to take down Kiyoshi and return the Five Tails to the village. It was not much, but another box checked off of a to do list.
Personality
Personality as an Adult
At some point, its possible to say that Tsiro has appears to have dual personalities. It is not a disorder as he is able to switch between them at will.
The first personality is the one of public expectation. Because of his Kaguya blood, he maintains an attitude of a Kaguya. This is where you will hear him cuss under his breath about Genjutsu users or Medic nin. He's understood their purpose and accepted them for years. Its the charade though that he maintains. This is not to say that the rage he shows may not be real. His blood still quick to boil. Just not as quick as it once was. On his off days you will not see him awake before noon. If he is, someone likely will be on the wrong end of a bone shank. During his free time he will either be in the arena or visiting with people he considers family. Despite this, Tsiro often tries to better the situation of others. Especially younger shinobi growing up. He realizes that life must be hard to grow strong, but that does not mean life has to suck.
The second personality is the work horse. This is the shinobi that is sent on the mission most would not have the brass to finish. The one that completes tasks most shinobi would refuse. Not only will he complete the task. Moments later he will seem oblivious to the fact it ever happened. This is not to say that he is without a morale compass. If the task is in the best interest of the village, then it needs to be completed. If deviation from the task at hand is in the best interest, then deviation is the course he will take. Due to the depths of his beliefs, he is often better off working alone.
Personality as a Child
While Tsiro does not suffer from any type of multiple personality disorder, he does have many parts to his personality. In general the boy shows a strong work ethic, even as a shinobi. While he will not throw a physical tantrum over failure, it is obvious that failure does bother him. Enough so that he would strike to become stronger due to it, instead of dismissing it.
In general Tsiro is a calm person. He strives to be the opposite of most Kaguya. Despite this calm nature, he often speaks his mind. In Kirigakure, this usually leads to trouble. Even against people he knows would or will beat him up, the boy shows no signs of fear.
Like the rest of the Kaguya clan there are some traits even Tsiro cannot escape. In a fight, his attitude becomes that of a natural killer. His blood begins to boil. Though he has yet to hit a full on rage, he has had times where he is not far from it. There is also the pride of being a Kaguya on the battle field. A pride he does not carry off the battle field.
Appearance
Current Appearance
The man before you looks to be in his late teens or early twenties. An estimated height would be just short of the six foot mark. His broad shoulders and muscular build put his weight somewhere around one hundred, seventy-five pounds.
The hair on his head is dark as night, except for a single silver streak that moves across the front. It is obvious that the hair is well groomed and only allowed to fall as far as the man's neck. Two red dots on his forehead give away his heritage as Kaguya. Two crimson eyes peering around him only seem to confirm this.
The broad torso of the man is covered solely by a shirt made of loose netting. It does little to hide the definition of his muscles and abs. A belt, formed from a Kirigakure forehead protector holds a few pouches to carry any shinobi tools he may need. The belt holds up a pair of black and white camouflage pants with slits carefully sewn into the fabric. The man's feet are covered in a pair of black tabi socks. The only other noticeable thing about the man is a pair of swords strapped to his back.
Appearance as a Teen
The boy stands a few inches over the five foot mark. He is about at that age where his shoulders have started to become more broad and his figure is putting on stature. The boy's skin is pale, but not milky white. He obviously does get at least a little bit of sun.
His upper attire is composed of mostly wide netting. It allows one to see the muscular torso and abs of the boy. He does keep a few pouches on a belt made from his Kirigakure Forehead Protector. Their purpose seems to be to hold any shinobi supplies he might need. His pants are black and white camoflauge with small slits in the fabric sewn in every so many inches. His feet are covered by a pair of tabi socks.
A silver streak down the center of his hair contrasts the natural black shade. The hair remains short and slightly spiked. The fact he does not ball it up like most Kaguya is possibly the only feature that seems deliberately kept. The crimson eyes and two red dots on his forehead are dead confirmation of the boy's clan.
Appearance as a Child
The pale skin of this child stands out the most. Though it is not milky white, it is a few shades lighter than the average person. There are a number of cuts and bruises across his skin. Some of them are fresher than others. The kid stands around the 5 foot mark, though for his size he would seem almost malnourished.
His attire is on the simple side. A red velvet shirt and darker pants. Both would appear to be riddled with tears. He wears the head band marking him as a member of the hidden mist village. The band seems to sit fairly low as it is right above his eyes. His feet are bare.
One who did not know of this boys origins could swear he was of the Kaguya clan based on his eyes alone. They are of the deepest crimson color. His black hair is kept extremely short. It was not nearly long enough to ball up in the traditional fashion of his clan. This seemed deliberate. Though if caught in the right light, one could spot a heavy silver tint to the hair.

Name | Relationship | Notes |
Kaguya Kiku | Rival | One of the odd members of the clan. She chooses to use Genjutsu over Taijutsu. I never did understand that. At one point I did consider her a rival. That was a long time ago. |
Kaguya Yuriko | Adopted Sister | A child born of two of the strongest Kaguya I have ever met. One day she will surpass even me. She will be the future of the clan and the village. Until that day I will kill those who attempt to bring her harm. |
Kaguya Yuuka | Adopted Mother | She hates when I call her sensei. She's the only mother figure I've ever known. She's so different from the rest of the clan. She is family. |

Doihara Akane | Friend | She is fearless to the point where it could be harmful. Not many can say they've stared a Kaguya in the eyes, let alone while displaying a dojutsu and survived. If I ever end up in the hospital, she is the one who deals with me. She's the highest survival rate of any mednin I've dealt with so far. ** |
Doihara Ishino | Friend | This guy might be one of my oldest friends. He is one of the few I trust. Kind of odd that I would trust someone who uses Genjutsu. I hate Genjutsu users. |
Okumo Meruin | Former Mizukage | We go way back. If it were not for this guy, I would have died before I ever got started. Sometimes I think had he known that at the time, he would have let me die. The village seemed to thrive under him. I have large shoes to fill. |
Okumo Naoya | Subordinate | Despite his known allegiance to his clan over his village, this guy has always had a very promising career in the village. He would have made an excellent Hunter Nin. |
Okumo 'Shimizu' Kiji | Subordinate | Some might have called her damaged goods. At one point I even pondered killing her. I am thankful I did not. She has proven to be a useful shinobi and has earned the title Jounin. |
Shirayuki Aoi | Friend | Though she is not as active as she once was, Aoi and I go way back. She once was one of the seven swordsmen. The village could use her return to duty. |

Gansao Kitaru | Rival | Another one of those hated Genjutsu users. I really did not mind working with this guy. It's too bad he died during the 2nd Jounin Exams. He might have gone somewhere. Now we will never know. |
Kaguya-Hozuki Yoichi | Traitor | He served the village a lot longer than most. Then when he was rewarded for it, he turned and betrayed us. I know not why. What i do know is that there is a special place in the afterlife for his type. I hope he was not wearing a sweater when he died. |
Kaguya Nori | Clan | I only met Nori a few times but he seemed strong. |
Kaguya Odori Keisuke | Possible Father Figure | I know he never meant to leave Yuriko without a father and Yuuka without a husband. He died defending the village and for that was a hero. I never had a real father to look up to but if I had to choose one, he would be closest I have found. |
Kaguya Odori Takeshi | Clan Elder | There are some people who rise above your expectations. Then there are those who flat out blow them away. Old man Takeshi was one of the latter. He was a weird one in that he adopted people like most drink water. I know I was a difficult kid. Thank you for what you taught me. Rest in peace. I got it from here. |
Kirryu Kiyoshi | Subordinate | One of the people who lived as a host to the Five Tails. He was not meant for this life. I know it killed him on the inside. I just wish he knew all the pain his death caused people. Maybe that would have prevent him from becoming a rogue. |
Mizukiyo Chiaki | Student | My first student. I am not the best teacher. Had I been better, she might still be alive. |
Okumo Daomi | Friend | We came from opposite walks of life. He was one of the reasons that I hate Genjutsu users. I found him funny though. Like that time we were scouting the gates of the Leaf Village and he tried to get a date from that Aburame girl while I beat her Inuzuka partner senseless. I often wonder what life would be like if he were still alive. |
Shirayuki Tsubaki | Student | Her death was a tragedy. I regret not avenging it. |

Inuzuka Taiki | Enemy | We met on the battlefield twice. Twice I destroyed him. The war was a long time ago, but I've not seen him since. I have heard that he became the leader of your clan. I would love to see the look on his face if I ever showed up to congratulate him. |
Satonezu Eremi | Enemy | The one who kicked me in the face during the war. We did meet after the war on a mission. I believe I bested him. Since he has been hard to follow. Rogue, not rogue. Who knows. |
Uchiha Naru | Arch Rival | At first, she opened my eyes. She forced me to get stronger. Then we had some of the fiercest fights anyone could ask for. I began to believe that our lives were intertwined. Much of the evidence suggested that for much of our lives. Then she vanished. I had always thought I would one day die by her hands. Where have you gone my rival? |

Shirokiri Rise | Rival | I lost count of the beatings that I gave this girl. I have taken all of her limbs and yet she still continues to fight on. I am unsure if I should admire her tenacity or if I should feel sorry for the pain she must endure. She is the only rival that has ever come close to Naru like status in my eyes. I will never tell her that though. |

Watanabe Itami | Fellow Kage | The Kazekage may be the eldest Kage in the five great nations. Her village struggles. I know she wants what is best for that desolate wasteland. She is the only real leader that I deal with from any of the villages. |

Tsiro's Journal
I have spent a few days as genin now. Most of the shinobi in the village are hostile towards everyone. Even those of my own clan.
Nori practically challenged me to a fight. He has something against our clan. A Kaguya who hates Kaguya and picks random fights with them. I cannot say this guy fell too far from the tree. The sad part is I guess I can relate. Does that mean I did not fall far from the tree?
Takeshi gave me a lecture on how he could not understand the youth and why they feel like they do about the clan. It seemed like nothing was good enough for this guy. He's also the clan elder. If this is any glimpse of how things are life is going to get harder.
Meruin seems to be pretty powerful for as young as he is. The way he talks drives me nuts. He's always precise and speaking like he is better than others. I guess at one point he use to beat on Nori. That seems sort of impressive. He basically told me even if I become a wild beast I would serve the betterment of Kirigakure.
Maikeru seems like he has a level head though it is obvious he does not get along well with Nori. He also told me that we all are animals, but the reason is our own choosing and there are no excuses for what we choose. Supposedly this guy adopts people into his clan. Not sure why…
Sekisetsu is an obvious drama queen. She requires lots of attention or becomes easily upset. She also wants to roast me over a few comments. I really do not see playing into her delusions just because she cant handle failure. That's now how I work, even if she can roast me.
Yuuka seems to be the only one of the group that does not have any mental defect or open rage towards people, random or deserved. Everyone seems to show her respect. For a Kaguya this is a new concept to me. She is kind to me and reminds me a bit of my mother, at least what I know of my mother.
All in all I am surprised to have lasted my first few days as a genin. I wonder how much longer I will live at this rate. Luckily no one has thrown any punches at me yet.
In order to survive, I am well aware that I will need someone who can train me to become stronger. Given my first impressions, there are only a few people I think would be willing to do such.
Nori
Pros: He is strong.
Cons: He hates the Kaguya Clan.
Takeshi
Pros: He is a Kaguya Elder.
Cons: He does not ask why. Instead he voices displeasure at what is. Also will being an elder take time from training me?
Yuuka
Pros: She is respected by EVERYONE. She has the clan's kekkei genkai.
Cons: She has not shown any signs of physical strength.
I think Yuuka was the obvious choice. Some how she has managed to get the respect of the Kirigakure Animals. I hope that it is because she is strong or because she gives others reason to be strong. I am not sure either way, but she has accepted the offer to become my sensei.
She even gave me this bone dagger. She called it the 'Epigaea Dagger'. It is very detailed. Almost like a ceremonial knife made of bone, but I think she expects me to use it in combat. I would hate to break it. That would make me a bad student would it not? I think for now I will stick to kunai weapons.
I had received a summon to the entry way of the Village from Nori. Which seemed slightly off. But when I got there he was waiting with a wagon of goods. Sensei was there too. The mission details were to deliver the crates to the Smith in the Valley. Though it was never confirmed, the crates were filled with weapons. There was plenty of clanking during the ride.
It was a simple D rank mission. We had a single problem along the way. A pack of rabid wolves attacked. We killed a good number of them before they retreated back into the woods. I managed to kill two of them. I also sustained a wound. One of the wolves bit into my arm. I bashed in the skull of the beast until it let go.
All in all, mission was a success. This so beats catching stray dogs.
Today was suppose to be a simple mission. It was basic preemptive scouting of the Konohagakure Border. Though a few of us were suppose to show up at the designated spot, only two of us got there. Though I did not think it at the time, I was lucky Meruin showed up. The condescending bastard slapped me. I guess he could tell I would not be one to sit in his fact section of the arena.
Soon after that a force from the leaf village showed up. We were easily out numbered. I ended up fighting two Uchiha girls while Meruin fought an Uchiha girl and some guy with a cleaver.
My taijutsu allowed me to keep up with both of the girls for quite a while. Both of them seemed to use ninjutsu, mainly the style of fire. I held my own for the most part. Meruin stepped in twice. Once to block a huge fireball and the other time after they knocked me out.
I remember moving between the two of them. I had already been burned, but they managed to trap me and burn me from both sides. The next thing I remember I am waking up quite a ways from the field of battle. Meruin had some how revived me. He went back to fight more and sent me to the next location point.
I am not sure how I feel about Meruin after this. He is really strong. He proved it by fighting two people and still having time to save me. Then after I got dropped, he still went back for more. To think he is young than I am. He is still so condescending. Even during battle. He blamed me because we were spotted and suggested he cannot keep saving me from the weak. Maybe he is right. I still do not have to like it though.
As for those Uchiha girls. Their faces are burned into my memory. I will get my revenge. The next time I will have a few more tricks of my own to get around those fireballs.
Due to my injuries I was sent back to the village for a few days of down time. I guess Sensei noticed I was pretty upset about the loss to the two girls. She tried to cheer me up. I would not have it though. The taste of defeat was really bitter, especially with Meruin there.
I am not sure if Sensei is right, but she says that I have a misconception about those in the village around me. She told me the people around me really do care. Like Meruin and Sekisetsu. I am not sure if I believe her yet, but she is my sensei.
Also, she began teaching me how to use the Shikotsumyaku style. Mainly with the Epigaea Dagger. I was reprimanded for trying to protect the dagger. I was told that we are Kaguya and naturally hard on weapons. The dagger was made to last under those conditions.
I learned the basic slash of the style. It is a really simple concept. As you swing outwards flick the wrist going into the longest portion of the slash. This maximizes damage to an opponent. I practiced on a tree. The first time did not go so well. The second time I nearly broke the small tree in half. While this is not the elemental style I wanted to counter the Uchiha girls, it is a good start.
Again I was deployed into the land of fire. The target was anything that moved across the road. Well it happened to be a supply caravan from another nation.
The ambush was lead by Aoitsuki of the Shirayuki clan. It was my first time working with the Chuunin. There was also another Kaguya. His name is Takehiko. I've never met the guy before. The three of us attacked towards the caravan. Takehiko managed to kill a driver of one of the wagons while Aoitsuki attacked the shinobi guarding the other wagon.
The goal here was to prevent the supplies from reaching the leaf village. Instead of attack the shinobi I went to the driver-less wagon and attempted to steal the cargo. The horses were unresponsive to me, so I cut them free. The battle looked as though we were losing, so I pushed the cart over a hill and went for a ride. The others ended up retreating soon after. The second wagon made it through to the village.
While the mission goes down as a failure, I was able to bring the Mist supplies that would have otherwise been used against us. I believe my portion of the mission was a success. I guess in war you take what you can. I am still not sure why they did not destroy the wagon.
As for the shinobi guarding the other wagon. He seemed to be from the land of lightning. He also seemed very capable. I hope not all shinobi from there land are that good.
I was really excited to go on this mission with sensei. That way I could show her how well I was doing. Again we were guarding a road. This time we were waiting for a specific caravan. It was on time.
As sensei attacked the caravan a masked shinobi emerged. He stayed with the caravan. I waited for him to move and sensei even tried to get him to move from the caravan but he stayed planted to it. Finally I lept from my hiding spot. The masked shinobi appeared in front of me and used some form of shadow jutsu to lock me in place. He ransomed me to sensei for the safe passage of the caravan.
I was really shocked by his actions but even more shocked that sensei gave in. Once the caravan moved on he released me. Sensei could tell I was upset. She did not say a whole lot to me. I felt kind of worthless. Had I not been there she would have destroyed the caravan.
After that she took me back to the village to get checked out. I guess sensei finds me more value able than the mission. Part of me is happy for that, but part of me is still bummed about the mission. As for that leaf shinobi. I thought it was against their way to take children hostage. Oh well. He did have some beef over lost loved ones killed by Kirigakure.
This was suppose to be a basic scouting mission. We had gotten deep into the land of fire. It was Okumo Daomi and myself. He's from the same clan as Meruin. I never really worked with him, but he seemed less condescending than Meruin.
As we approached the Village, we were spotted by an Inuzuka and his dog. There was a girl from the Aburame clan as well. It was easy to decide opponents. I fought both the boy and his dog while Daomi… chatted with the girl.
The Inuzuka was unable to keep up with me. I sliced through both him and his dog like they were water or bread or whatever. I was happy. I felt something unique. It was as if this was my destiny. As the fight went on, eventually it became apparent the boy was not going to survive. The Aburame intervened and saved the boy. He sent his dog off for reinforcements.
Both Daomi and myself decided it was time to leave. The Inuzuka made it out with his life. I sure hope that Daomi got another date with that girl. I figure as enemies are concerned they got along real well. Damn Okumo.
Sensei and I were deployed to one of the northern islands in the land of water. We were guarding a supply ship to the village. Really I had thought this would be a very relaxed mission. Our forces were deep in enemy territory. The front lines were not even close to us.
That all changed when we were attacked. As a storm came in, two shinobi tried to blend in with the crew below the deck. I stayed above deck and attacked the first enemy shinobi I saw. If it were not for sensei's senses, I would have missed these guys. She went below deck to deal with those two. The guy I fought though seemed to be an expert at something other than taijutsu. I sliced his hand pretty good. He was no longer able to make hand signs. From there I was able to kill him.
I found another shinobi and attacked him, though he was better at hiding. Sensei had finished up below the deck and returned to help me out. Between the two of us, I was able to gain the upper hand and kill him. The mission was a success. Soon after the boat docked and we were back home.
This was a guard mission. Some hot shot rent-a-nin by the name of Kyoumen Satsukiyami was leading a sensor party or something like that into the land of fire. I am not sure exactly what they were after but Aoitsuki and Daomi were along with me for the protection part. We ran into some resistance soon after the rent-a-nin formed some water rain jutsu.
The force from Konohagakure consisted of a very round man wearing brown. He was probably from the Akimichi clan. A man that used a crystal jutsu. He did not seem to be from the leaf village, but an ally. Then there was the Inuzuka and his dog that I had hospitalized not too long ago. Daomi went back to the village to get some help before the large Akimichi shinobi made a giant wall to lock us in.
The rent-a-nin and Aoitsuki fought the Akimichi and the crystal user. On the other side of the inside of the wall, the Inuzuka and I battled again. We were under orders to retreat as soon as we had an opening though. I cut him and his little dog a few times. I would have gone further but the Akimichi launched some attack with a huge earth ball. The forming of the massive ball made a hole in the wall, so I was able to retreat.
On the subject of the Inuzuka boy. In our next fight, I will either kill him or at least learn his name. Aoitsuki seemed to be pretty out matched by the crystal user. The rent-a-nin seemed about even with the others. He was strong. I am not sure exactly how they got out. I followed orders and did not stick around. I think the mission was a success.
Before I get into what happened, I have to recall my first memory of Tsun. I found her in the woods. She was surrounded by injured men from both Kohonagakure and Kirigakure. The girl wore a blind fold and was playing a sadistic game with one of the leaf nin that was barely alive. Needless to say she is the first person, let alone a girl to actually scare me.
So… tonight Sensei brought me to the Elder's house. Takeshi and Tsun were both there. Tsun seemed rather upset. The girl was throwing a temper tantrum or so it seemed. Thats when things got a little hectic. Takeshi seemed to be conducting buisiness. It was then that Yuuka dropped a ton of bricks on me. She let me know that we we're interviewing for an arranged marriage. If Tsun's eyes could kill alone, I think my skin might have been attached the wall. I felt a piece of my soul enter into hiding as she scowled at me.
I tried to go along with it. Both Takeshi and Yuuka raised points to the marriage, though neither one actually stated me as a superior specimen. I kind of felt like a piece of meat. It was not really that bad a feeling. Tsun on the other hand showed how spoiled she actually is by leaving the interview. She returned by making a hole in the wall. Takeshi seemed okay with it. I guess she is not well disciplined.
The interview was really without a result. I guess this goes down as a failure, but I will keep an eye on Tsun. I think she is lonely and could use a friend. I might be wrong though.
I was sent on a mission to protect some cargo in the Fuuma Basin. Meruin was leading the mission. He seemed a little better for the time being. Either way, we ran into some shinobi from Konohagakure. One of them was an Uchiha girl from my first fight.
Like before she tried to hit me with a friend. I was able to cut her boyfriend down with my Epigaea Dagger. I then tore into her. I was lost in combat when I was hit by an acid like webbing. I vowed afterwards that one day I would pay Meruin back. Every single time I go out with him, he manages to piss me off.
Either way, I grabbed the girl's headband. I was the clear victor of the battle despite the interference from Meruin. Now we are tied. When the girl comes to get her forehead protector back, we will meet on the battlefield again and decide the true victor.
The mission was simple. Blow up the massive bridge in Konohagakure. I was with Kibushi as we made our way into enemy territory. Kibushi saved me as our boat came under attack. We abandoned the boat and reached shore. As we did, we were met by a group of combatants.
I was dueling against a boy my age. He was quick. He kicked me in the face and then wrapped me up in some cloth jutsu. I remember my vision turning red. It was like a dream, except for angry. It was very angry. Bones began to protrude from my hands as I watched the coward run back into the woods. I shredded the cloth and then went after the nearest enemy. I could smell blood on the girl. I was unable to hit her. It fueled my rage even more. Hatred filled the air. She managed to escape.
A rent a nin from the village hidden in the rain was able to blow up the bridge. We managed to keep the forces occupied long enough. I even gained the next step in my evolution.
The war has recently ended. Supposedly the allied force won because they destroyed our lazer. Oh well. I think I did rather well for a genin. Majority of my missions were successful and I ended up winning most of my personal battles.
Onto the subject though. There is a new guy in town. He's the son of Takeshi. I am not sure how this eight foot monster came from his four foot father. Either way, I met Keisuke the other day. He was kissing Yuuka though I'm pretty sure she had just met him. He seems to follow her around quite a bit. He's been okay to me. I mean he has not yelled at me or treated me like some of the other Kaguya.
Watching him though makes it obvious how the clan works. It is like trying to establish dominance over animals. Most of the Kaguya refuse him and then they have a verbal stand off. If that does not solve it, it becomes a physical stand off. It is because of the pride as a Kaguya. We naturally do not believe in being lead, unless they are a lot stronger than us.
I have seen the guy fight once. He is able to manipulate bones just like Yuuka. I have no idea how he gained this ability, but he has it. I am pretty sure I have yet to see his true power. This is just the tip of the iceberg. On a side note, he seems to like water clones though he does not appear to be able to make water from nothing.
I had to get out of the house. My uncle was drunk again and I really did not feel like fighting. He always gets drunk and then becomes so hostile. I decided to go for a walk across the lake. I like to at least be productive. I can practice my chakra control while thinking over situations in my head. Not this day though. Oh no, not in my own village.
As I walked back towards shore a girl decided to attack me and accused me of theft. I knew she would find me but how did a kunoichi from Konohagakure get into Kirigakure. She was the Uchiha girl that had burned me in our first fight. I beat her in our second fight and took her forehead protector. Well, she came looking for it. Our record was tied and she made it known it was time to see who was going to win the tie breaker.
She attacked first. Her physical assault was no match for me. I proceeded to beat her until she was knocked out. I am not sure if I wanted to kill her. Two shinobi from another land intervened and rescued her before I could decide. Simply amazing. I am attacked in my own village by an enemy and two outsiders come to her rescue. Is there no justice in this world?
Despite not wanting to fight, it did seem relieve my stress. I'll probably camp out tonight. Doubt it would be safe to go home. If they invaded my village, they could get into my uncle's hut. He might help them out. Bastard. Guess I'll have to remain on guard all the time.
So sensei a while back Keisuke announced that he was dating Sensei. He did so at Takeshi's home then vanished. I followed suit and vanished soon after. Then a couple of times I visited her home to find him there. It was not a huge shock. He never seemed to stick around too often.
Then came a night when Yuuka invited me over for dinner. Keisuke was there as well. The food smelled great. I was really hungry until Yuuka sat down and said she needed to talk. She then let me know she was pregnant and that there was a bone barrier protecting the baby. Keisuke then suggested I should feel lucky cause without it he would insist she stop teaching me. For the record if it would harm sensei, I would insist she post pone training me. I want what is best for her.
I felt sick to my stomach. It is not that I dislike Keisuke or that he has really wronged me. It is just like every single time we talk, he feels the need to remind everyone he can destroy nations in a single motion of his blade and that everyone should always remember it. It's like I win a spar and instead of being proud of myself, he has to rain on the parade by reminding me about his power level. His suggestion that he would not allow Yuuka to train me seemed to be in the similar spirit of reinforcing that he is in charge. Now does he do this because he is worried some day someone will surpass him, or is it simply how he is? If he is to remain with sensei, I wish he could almost be more like her. She is the closest thing I have to family.
As for Yuuka, I excused myself and just kind of left quickly. I have no idea what it means. She's going to have a baby and I dont know how things will change. Will I go back to being the stray? Does that make me like an older brother? Where does it sit with Keisuke? Does it make me a bodyguard? I know Sensei was unsure what to think.
She came out and found me later. She even brought some food. She told me she would have to have a talk with Keisuke about things but she assured me that I still had a place there and that things would not change. She has been pushing for me to move in with her, but really I do not want to come between her and Keisuke. I guess I enjoy missions a lot. There are less questions and everything seems better.
Sunagakure was chosen for the site of the first Chuunin Exams. A land of desert. Unfortunately the land does not support my ninjutsu style. Although I am sure my Taijutsu alone is enough for me to pass the exam, I see possible issues with defending against Genjutsu. Needless to say that I will feel better prepared for the next exam. Tsun is in the exam. I wonder how she will do.
I have been working on my ranged taijutsu skills. I can spit bone needles from my mouth and bone bullets from my finger tips. Both are pretty good against a single foe. I need to work on multiple foes. My defenses could also use some work. I am fast but not all things can be defended with speed. I need to work on different ways to block using my bones.
Among other things that are on my list to think about are water defenses. I would not mind learning to create water so then I could go into placed like Suna and use it without having to worry about a source. Water clones would be helpful as well. Then there is the subject of stealth. I normally run in screaming and drawing attention. I destroy stuff and make loud noises doing it. I really need to learn more stealth. Not just hiding but moving while doing such. My goals are there. Now I need to make sure I focus enough to achieve them.
Sensei, myself and Keisuke were summoned to some house in Suna. There was an elder from Kiri there with a mission for us. The mission was simple. Use some ninja-tech compass to locate a girl. Retrieve her and bring her back to Kirigakure before the third portion of the exam ends. Though not much information was given, we accepted the mission. Also, on the use of the word retrieve, it could mean liberate from captors or act as captors. We were not sure.
After some time of using the compass we found that the girl was going to the tournament. We also located where she was staying at night. Though I ran up on the building to get a better idea of which floor she was on and Yuuka entered the building to speak with a guard, they moved the girl. We were able to quickly locate her new residence.
We have done a little bit of planning towards how to go about kidnapping the girl and my part is to figure out how to get her out of the country without drawing attention. There are really two options. Head inland towards the neutral zone and move majority of the trip by foot, or head towards the coast and take a ship directly there.
We had been aboard the smuggler's ship for a few days when Yuuka called a meeting. She revealed to us just who exactly our cargo was. She turned out to be royalty from the Land of Fire. Things were starting to make sense now. Originally the lack of information and the extremely generous price to kidnap some girl set off a few flags but no one thought we were being sent to kidnap the last heir to a royal throne. Our actions could easily be seen as a declaration of war. Now Keisuke, Yuuka and myself were all wondering just how much the village elders really knew. We had also been told to make it look like shinobi from Konoha had done the deed. Now we knew that would only buy us a little bit more time.
Yuuka and myself had noticed a tattoo on the girl's foot back when we redressed her in Suna's hidden village. I had no idea what it meant. Also when asked to check the locket, I figured it for a regular locket. Yuuka looked it over. Between the two she was able to put it together. It had been fairly obvious that something was bothering her. I think both Keisuke and myself had notched it up to her pregnancy. Neither one of us really knew a lot about things like morning sickness and other afflictions caused by pregnancy. So it seems to make sense that we thought her lack of ease with the situation could have been in part due to the child in her stomach.
Now though we were stuck with a decision. How do we proceed? I suggested that we hide the girl in another land and send one member on to the village to let them know what we had. If we were able to track her, we had to think they could as well. Also if she was found elsewhere there was a chance that Kirigakure would not take the blame. Unfortunately Keisuke decided to take charge. I understand why, but doubt it was the best decision. He decided that we would continue on to Kiri where we would have a numerical advantage. Then we hand her over to the elders and they can figure out what to do with her.
We knew there would be a few storms, but in an attempt to get around them the captain ran the ship into the ground a few days later. We ended up taking the cargo and making a dash for it at the first signs of clear weather. We did not have time to wait around for them to repair the ship. We were certain as soon as they could mount a chase, we would be seeing them soon.
We managed to make it back to the village. Once there we handed over our cargo to the elders. Surprisingly the one who hired us was not there. After explaining what happened and who the girl was, We recieved a pat on the back and the gold for two A rank missions. The evidence was a bit light, but a case could be made that the elder who gave us the mission might not have been from our village. There is some evidence to make the opposite case as well. Either way after the exchange of the cargo for money, we were informed that this mission never took place. We are under direct orders to never speak of it. On our official records kept under lock and key, though this one counts as a single A rank completed. So in a sense we might not be able to speak about it, but I am sure when future considerations are made, this mission will stand out.
This was all fine by me. Had this Sabaku been some normal girl, no one would ever have even cared. Our village would have happily kidnapped her and Suna probably would not have done much after the fact. Since her family comes from power and no doubt has lots of coin, all of a sudden everyone is worried. Shinobi are made to be weapons. We are paid to kill targets and even each other. Some of us move on to kill higher cost targets and some of us move on to kill higher ranked shinobi. We trade all the wrath someone can bring down on us for gold coins. It is simply a matter of how many of them you have against how many we are willing to do it for. Do not get me wrong, war sucks for the majority of people in it. Not all of them walk in and come out ahead like me. There are always those who gain from it and those who lose. I guess this allows me to enjoy war more than others in most situations.
Plus since I know what is about to happen, I can go and spend some time relaxing. I was thinking about taking a small trip to the neutral zone. Maybe get my mind back to fighting. All of this has made me reconsider what I want to do with my talents. If I worked a bit on my stealth and tracking, I could possibly become a Tracker Nin recruit. That would allow me to learn some new skills and possibly even gain better missions.
First my travels brought me to Fort Kyuusen. I had been there once before. I was sent there on a mission. Basically two overly rich men had nothing better to do than to pay for hidden villages to send out shinobi to fight each other for their entertainment. It was confirmation of something I already knew. At the end of the day we were merely pieces placed on a board. If we made it to the end of the game we were simply brought back for another game. Those who did not make it were forgotten. If you did really well you were upgraded to a different piece. There was a little more importance placed on you but not much. You were slightly less expendable than the game before. Eventually if you made your way to the top of the ladder, you were the least expendable piece still played in the game.
On that mission, I was unable to spend a lot of time in the Fort. This time around I spent two days. On my way to Fuuma Alley, my second destination of the trip, I ran across Rise. She had been promoted as the Chuunin Exams. Unfortunately this girl is a victim of fate. She attacked me on sight under the assumption that I was in town to foil her mission. After destroying her in the fight she picked, I let her know that she was in the wrong. I also let her know I was unsure exactly what the point of the exams were if garbage like her managed to pass. I then continue on my way. Unlike the pieces on the board, she has been allowed to live despite all of her failures in battle. I wonder if she is content with the shinobi system as it is.
On the outskirts of the Fuuma Alley is an abandoned temple. Many shinobi use it as a place to stay when in the area. Sometimes you bump into others there. This place was the first time I had won an actual battle against someone who had beaten me. It was my first taste of vengeance. A week after that battle, I unlocked my Shikot. The temple will always hold a place with me. It felt like my start in this life. Unfortunately I ran into another that I had met before. The Inuzuka boy I had fought and beaten on several occassions. I was not shocked that he asked not to fight me. Unlike most of the ladies in my life he decided to use words over his fists. He is the first Konoha shinobi I have had history with that did not seem to want to settle the score. After Taiki went on his way, I spent the night in the temple and went home in the morning.
Back home things seemed the same. Keisuke as usual was no where to be found. In general I wonder if I would know the guy if it were not for Yuuka. I get that he is the son of Takeshi, but for him to just show up and be made clan head seems a bit off. It would have been easier if he seemed to deal with clan issues. I guess in a sense I am jealous. You would think as clan lead he would be able to make time for those coming up in the clan. Instead the only time I have had with the guy is when Yuuka is present.
My uncle still sucks. I do not even spend time at home. I'm considering building my own hut. Then I do not have to hold back when he gets drunk. Not that he's better when sober, but he seems less chaotic. I know Yuuka had offered to let me live with her, but I just cannot do that. It would be odd. I think in general my goal is to get an upped pay grade and move out. That or slaughter my uncle. For now he's in good standing with the village. I doubt that would help my cause. If the day ever comes though that he falls from grace, I'm going to be the first one to take a shot at him.
I am starting to learn that in this thing called life, I've only got a few friends. These days its looking more like they are me, myself and I. Then again thats all there seemed to be from the start. I guess I'll see as this board game goes on. I also think I'm alright with the shinobi way. We cannot all buck the system.
The mission was simple. Guard a resort from attacks. It was a resort on an outskirt island. There were watch towers and bombs placed in the water. It looked more like a fortified prison camp without prisoners. There were a couple of us selected. Aoitsuki, Kagami and myself. I do not think anyone was told who the resident at this resort was, but I knew. There was only one person being brought in that people would want at. I am not sure if the bombs in the water were to keep her in or others out. Probably the latter.
When the attack finally came, we were attacked by a very light force. It looked like they sent a single Jounin with a group of Genin. We were able to do some hurt to the three. In fact they were all badly wounded by the time the Akimichi called for everyone to fall back. He then covered their retreat with another of his size jutsu. We had thought we were winning the battle and were about to converge on the large man when he proved he could have come alone and things likely would not have been different.
The battle itself felt like kind of a sham. I did not even get to go all out. I fired off a couple of bone projectiles and then it ended. They had come with the intention of distracting us and that they did. I wanted to continue the fight and prove myself against the Jounin despite knowing I would lose. It just seemed like it would have been something worth while. Instead I called the retreat. I am surprised Aoitsuki listened to me. Kagami decided to run off after kidnapping one of the Konoha shinobi. I am not sure what she plans to do with him, nor would I trade places with him under any circumstances. Not sure what the Touketsu clan does to their prisoners.
Things were starting to happen in Kirigakure. The new Mizukage was starting to handle buisiness in the past few weeks. It took him a while to get around to thingsbut now it seems like a nice change of pace. Though I never met the former Mizukage, rumors were that Hikan was preoccupied with his own inventions. At least that is the opinion that I had recieved from Maikeru before his exile.
I had become quite adept at tracking my prey, be it creature or shinobi. In a previous mission, I was brought along to hunt down escaped criminals. Of the group, I was really the only one to remain standing, despite an angry Kiku dropping a house on both myself and the convict leader. If that had not killed him, the several brutal attacks I had used on him would have. It was only a matter of time. I guess the point is that I was already a proven brawler. Now I was gaining a name as a tracker, at least to those who authorize my pay.
It came as a slight shock when I was selected to join the Hunter Nin. I know Keisuke had previously tested my ability to deal with situations but this was unexpected, especially since I am still a Genin. Most kids grow up hearing tales whispered about ANBU. Even fewer are whispered about the Hunter Nin. At one point I did not even think they really existed.
It was Takeshi who brought the news to me. As a clan elder, I wonder how much he truly knows. First came the oath. I am sworn to protect this identity until the end, even in death my body is not to be captured as a Hunter Nin. I believe this means learning another form of Taijutsu to hide my Shikot. There are still only a few Kaguya with the Shikot. Given my size and ability, the style would be a dead give away to my allies and a good hint of where to find me to my enemies. I will also be looking into to expanding my Water Style Ninjutsu.
The mask is an honor given to me. I will gladly protect the secrets of my village and erase those from history, who would seek to betray us to our enemies.
Shortly after our return from Sunagakure, Sensei went on leave for her pregnancy. Although I have been keeping pretty busy, I have stopped by her hut a few times to visit Yuriko and her. Keisuke has been there a few times. Our schedules never seem to match up a whole lot. Yuriko seems to be a happy child. She likes to make faces and lots of happy noises.
Well, it seems Sensei has returned to active duty. I am not sure what brought her back to it, but I am glad to have her back. Something is still off. She made mention of not being able to feel Keisuke. I am not sure what out there could take the giant down but I assured her things would be fine. Maikeru has returned and I know she was happy about that. The two have been friends for a long time.
I am eager to show sensei how I have grown. My Shikotsumyaku is not quite as advanced as hers, but I am close. It will not be long before I am the one who protects her and Yuriko. For now, going on missions with her once more will be a nice reminder of how life use to be.
Our first mission together was not really special. Some guy from another land needed his caravan protected. Turned out Kiku knew him. She spouted some back talk to Yuuka. I am surprised Yuuka did not drop her down a notch or five. I know if I meet Kiku in a dark alley, I may hospitalize her for her threat against my sensei.
Only a few days have passed since Sensei stated she could no longer feel Keisuke's presence. The Mizukage recieved an official report of his death. The news has come as quite a shock to the village. It lost one of it's Seven Swordsmen. There was even more pain from the clan. It lost much more. A father, a teacher and a clan head. Rumors have circulated around the village that it was a Hyuuga from Konohagakure that brought the giant down. I hope for Keisuke's sake he put a nice dent in whomever it was.
I have moved in with Sensei to help with some of the chores around the house. I know she grieves for her late husband and she fears raising a child up without a father. This is one of the many hardships of our life as shinobi. Death of loved ones is something we never get use to but risk every time a mission is accepted. Now we do what we must to continue on. Future generations may hear of the Seven Swordsmen known as Kaguya Odori Keisuke but at least one child will have known him as Kaguya Odori Keisuke, her father.
I have not recieved any word of a funeral date set yet. Due to the loss, from a political stand point, the village is now considered weaker. There is now a responsibility to every shinobi from Genin to Jounin to step up and fill in where they can. For some it means training harder to accept a tougher mission. For others it means teaching those they normally would not. For me, it does not just extend to Yuuka and Yuriko. It means being there for his team. Even Kitaru, no matter how much I hate mental tricks. Hopefully the rest of the village is able to come together. I have a feeling we will be heading towards war soon.
Official summons often times lead to trouble. This is because someone higher up than you wishes to communicate something of some importance to you. Often times this is some behavioral oversight that you made or how you botched a mission. Usually it involves a closed door and yelling that can be heard on the other side of that door. It's not a good thing. Most the time if your summoned for a mission, its a specific person that sends for you. That or they send the mission briefing with and your able to go on your way.
Well… today I recieved an official summons to the Mizukage's office. Almost certain I was in trouble for something, I spent the entire trip their pondering my last few months to see if there was anything I had done worth being chewed out by the big man himself. I was pretty sure this did not have to do with the passing of Keisuke and that I had kept my nose clean for a while. By the time I got there, I had decided that the Mizukage was probably backed up on paper work and just now coming across that black mission wiped from my record. It had to be that. It was the only blemish on my record.
So when shown in I started my protest. The guy would have nothing of it. He just said sit. I kind of felt like a canine of some sort. Either way things turned out alright. He was giving me a promotion to Chuunin and wanted to talk over my first Hunter Nin mission. I am to accompany the Mizukage and Kaguya Yuuka on a trip to Konohagakure. We spoke a bit on details of the mission and he is aware that Sensei will likely recognize me. He does not seem to worried about it. I was then dismissed from his office to go prepare for my upcoming mission.
I guess after being promoted to Hunter Nin, Chuunin does not seem like that big of a deal. I had always guessted that the Chuunin promotion would have come after proving myself in the Chuunin Exams against the other great nations Genin. There are only a few things I can read from this. The first is that the Mizukage likes to keep his toys hidden from view until he uses them. The second is that he is updating and promoting those under him in preperation. This mission to Konohagakure could lead towards war.
This all started on a mission. I was paid to prevent a man, and his family, from reaching the shores of the Land of Water. He was some sort of politician that people feared might gain a following or something like that. The family boarded a ship in the Land of Fire. They had a shinobi escort. Little did they know, I had also boarded the ship. Once we were a safe distance away from the Land of Fire, I proceeded to carry out my mission. The leader of the escort was some jerk who called his subordinates pawn one and two. I beat all three of them senseless and then fufilled my mission. The leader was from some clan of mind invaders. Before the end of the fight he invaded my mind momentarily. It caused him to freak out. Luckily for him, I had other things to do like finish the mission.
A few days later in the Neutral Zone, I ran into one of the girls I had beat on the mission. I remember she was a beast fist user. Her's was a Viper style. I asked her why she stayed on a team with such a jerk. She really did not have a good answer. After a while she realized Konoha was no home for her. We agreed to meet later and I would help her defect from Konoha to Kiri.
There was a bit of humor in the extraction. I ended up working alongside Kitaru. Even though we do not see eye to eye, we make a decent team. When the two shinobi from Konoha came for Chiaki, we were not only able to beat them, but I managed to kill her former sensei. Through out the heat of battle, he had called her scum among other things. He treated her like dirt up to the end. I did Konoha a favor by ridding the world of Yamanaka Sanada.
Chiaki seems to be doing pretty well with adapting to her new life. She has been given Genin status within the village. Though she will be watched, she was accepted. I am not sure if the Mizukage sees my actions as a positive or a negative. I lean towards the positive since she was accepted. For a residence, I set her up in Takeshi's home. Everyone knows its like the unofficial village inn. She is my first official student. Because I agreed to train her, I want her to succeed.
Unlike most shinobi who rely on elements and jutsu, she relies purely on her physical ability. Her knowledge of poisons makes her an excellent candidate to become an assassin or even a Hunter Nin. One of her abilities allows her to start a transformation into a snake. If her senses also improve, she may become an excellent tracker. The only down side is her appearance. She does not blend in well. She seems to neglect fashion. This is a first that I have seen of a girl refusing fashion.
I have set her up with Yuuka to do a make over. Every project requires work. This one will be no different. I will help her succeed. Once she can blend in, she will become a true viper, only seen right before she strikes.
I turned thirteen a few days ago. It was an experience unlike the other birthdays I had. Instead of it being another day, Yuuka went out of her way to plan a celebration. I was surprised by how many people actually showed up. There was a lot of food and lots of presents. I guess I had not really recieved many presents. Though I was really shocked by the turn out and touched by the effort, I tried not to show it. I am not sure if it felt like weakness to be touched or if I was a ashamed that I had lacked all of this in my life. I found it much easier to focus on Yuriko while moving around talking to others. I figure Yuuka put a lot of effort into it, I could as least watch the munchkin for a bit.
There were several gifts. A few of them stuck out more than others. Takeshi gave me a plot of land to start building my home on. I think he plans to kick Chiaki out of his home soon. Not sure if she did something wrong or not. It will be nice to build my own home though I have kind of dreaded building one. I guess she can live with me. The other present was given by Maikeru. He gave me some obsidian blades incase I needed to use something besides bones. I am fairly sure he knows there are some situations where I cannot use bones without giving myself away. I think they were a pretty good present. I guess this means, I will have to be growing up sooner rather than later.
The Second Promotion Exams came as a shock. I had always thought that I would become a Chuunin through the exams, but that did not happen. I did not go to Sunagakure for the exams. I was actually on a work assignment. One fiasco that has seemed to be placed in the past now. This time the exams are being held in my own country, so someone has to represent our people. I decided to join the exams. I kind of figured that Kitaru would. I was shocked that Aoi did not. The biggest surprise was that Kiku had joined.
I went over to Takeshi's house and she was there. I was taking a break from building my own home. She left her Kirigakure guards outside the residence. What kind of Kaguya has to have guards? I can understand an elder, but other than that there is no excuse. Once inside we traded comments back and forth until Kiku decided to show off her latest dance. So naturally I showed her mine. Takeshi was not happy that we tore apart his wooden floors. I intentionally left the fight unfinished. I wanted her to know that I was stronger and holding back.
As for the exams, I sent in my answers and now I am waiting to hear back from them. I am sure there are going to be a lot of strong competitors there. I only hope that I am able to keep up. There were not a lot of Genin that could keep up with me. The range for Chuunin is larger. I'm pretty sure I am going to become one of the smaller fish in a big pond.
I am not sure who originally thought up the plan, but it went something like this… Kiku, Kitaru and I were suppose to form a team to collect scrolls in the second portion of the exams. Also known as the Survival portion. I knew everyone else was formulating their plans as well. That is the point of survival. You either pass or fail based on your decisions. While Kiku was not the strongest of allies, Kitaru seemed like a decent person to have on my side. So I agreed.
Not long into the exam this little alliance already called upon me to answer. As I approached the meeting spot, I found Kitaru battling a familiar face. It was Uchiha Naru. Boy had she grown strong. All my life she has been a rival. She is one of a few that can claim to have shaped my life. I embraced my inner beast to fight this girl. I was not the only one whom had pushed themselves. She was tossing Kitaru around like a rag doll. I wasted no time entering the fray. If Kitaru were to fall, my job would become twice as hard.
I reached back and pulled my spine out. She responded with Genjutsu. Soon we were able to subdue her. As we did, Kitaru began to preach to her. He made mention of me being his team and helping him grow strong. I could care less for the kind words. He seemed not to take Naru very seriously. That normally goes down in the mistake category. All the time I've known her, she does not quit. I continued to slash into her with my bones. Even then she refused to go down without a fight. I admired her spirit.
As Naru was finally down, Kitaru grabbed her scroll and tossed it to me. I wanted to knock her out of the tournament, but some unknown guy came to her rescue. Neither myself nor Kitaru were in any real shape to continue fighting. He decided to help Naru out. It was a move I know I'm going to regret. Either way I got my second scroll and Kitaru and I left the area. Kitaru managed to pick up some stray Kumo chick.
The plan seemed to be working fairly well. The only issue is Kitaru seemed intent on helping a lot of people get scrolls. I understand the thought behind it. If you give weaker people scrolls and they are able to keep them, you have a better chance of fighting them in the final exam before fighting a real opponent. That is one tactic. That much is simple to understand. The problem is that during survival you run a greater risk of being found by others. Not only that but if you are found chances are high you are not at full strength.
Well, Kitaru seems to have gone missing and I am not certain as to where. I guess from this point I have to continue on without him. My guess is if he ended up in bad shape, he may have gone to the temple. I hear it is being used like some medical bay. If I had to guess that would be the place where Kiku would be found. I think I am going to keep a good distance from there. Places like that go against the survival concept. Those who would have naturally fallen are given a second chance. Others may focus on the stronger people brining weaker people there.
Either way, I am heading the opposite direction. I just need a stream with fresh water, some shelter and some game to hunt. They can keep their medical bay. As for Kitaru and Kiku, if they survived the round, I'll meet up with them in the next. At least I know Kitaru's a smart enough guy.
I found my fresh water stream. Unfortunately it flows through the center of a clearing between the woods. Not exactly ideal for the survival purpose. Each time I go there I have to scout the area out for a little bit before making my move. I have two scrolls and really do not desire to run into anything that will cost me the next round so late in survival. Today however I spotted someone rushing out into the clearing. It was a girl. One from my past. Her name was Rise. I could not help but mess with her.
The last time we had fought, Rise had been promoted to chuunin. She merely saw me near Fort Kyuusen and launched her attack. I put her down swiftly. She never even landed a single attack me. That was the difference in our abilities. She, like all my female rivals, tends to be the type to strike first and ask questions later.
So I stepped out into the clearing and made my presence known. I could see it in her eyes. She wanted to attack me. I decided to add a little bit of verbal encouragement. I let her know I had scrolls and that I was almost certain she did not. That did it. She came forward trying to kick me in the face. I am not sure why everyone wants to kick me in the face, but its not cool. The fight lasted a bit longer than I had wanted, but I put her down once more. I guess this has been a one sided rivalry.
Survival ended. I made it to the finish line. A finish line that was not made up of whom I expected. Naru managed to pass the exam and Kitaru did not survive it. That kind of sucked. I know the guy had started to grow on some people. I no longer wished to kill him like I use to. I think a few people actually liked him. The time for mourning was not then though.
After a look at the brackets, I found myself fighting a Hyuuga in the first round. The Hyuuga are known for their Gentle Fist style of Taijutsu. So I planned for a close battle. I expected more of a brawl. I started the match like any normal fight. A few projectiles before running in heavy on the attacks. Hiroshi was quick on his feet and able to evade almost every single attack I made. He was not even trying. By the time I realized what was going on, I figured it was too late to win the match. So I moved to plan B. That was to disable my opponent.
I grasped the base of my spine and yanked it from my body. I know most people find the move disgusting. It actually hurts quite a bit, but I had little choice in the matter. I whipped the spine towards him and caught him. The bones in my left hand formed into that of a drill. I impaled him upon it. To my surprise, he did not scream out. Instead he remained calm and conceded the match. He also informed me of the error of my ways. While I was feeling fatigued, I still had enough to try and escape him as planned. Winning the match came as a surprise.
Naru, Naru, Naru. My opponent in the semi finals of the tournament. After watching her fight Kitaru and then me in the survival round, I was pretty sure I would not survive this round. Things started off in my favor though. I knew I would have to unleash my full power in order to compete with the Uchiha girl. It seemed like she was taking me lightly. With my ripped out spine, I tangled her up. It all seemed too easy. As I moved in to impale her with my drill like hand, she managed to break free of my spine and evade the impalement. She had anticipated this and I fell for it.
She attacked me with a Genjutsu. My mind was still on how she broke free of my spine. It angered me. I started to see red. I managed to break free of her Genjutsu in time to defend myself. I was in disbelief that my deadliest move had failed me. I had to attempt it once more. It was truly the point of the match that would determine the victor. Like before she was unable to get away from the vine. The drill impaled her with full force causing a huge wound. She took the damage rather well. She was barely alive though and really unable to stand. I was physically better off but I was out of steam.
It was at this point that Kuroki Kuoroke, the proctor reminded us he said no death at the start of the match. That was going to make things difficult on me. Naru's eyes changed, revealing some different type of Sharingan. I knew she was not ready to give up. Despite Naru's verbal challenge to try and finish her, I raised the whip upwards, but could not bring it down for the final blow. I informed the Proctor he needed to call the match otherwise we would be going against his wishes. Although the next few moments seemed like hours on end, I was declared the winner of the battle. I had made it to the finals.
There was more than just the finals in this victory. I had surpassed Naru once more. Deep down I know it was because she took me lightly. She did manage to toy with me a little. I have become predictable in my movements.
After a little time in the hospital on a fluid drip and a few days rest, I was back to the arena for the final match. My opponent's name was Reizei Ogosokamaru. From the moment the Mizukage said go, this fight went down hill. Though I am considered a freak of nature due to my age, this Reizei had me easily out classed. I did not even see him move and I was slashed… twice. Like my previous battles, I removed my spine. For most who saw the fight, the attacks of my spine looked as though they were hitting air. This battle became more about proving I could take a beating. Winning was no longer an option. After being thrown into a wall and stabbed through the chest cavity by a sword, I managed to wrap my spine around Ogosokamaru.
I pulled the sword from my body and moved forward, spinning the bones from my back and chest to tear into him. That is all I had wanted to do. I then let the Mizukage know I conceded the match. I have come farther in the tournament than any other shinobi from my land. I even defeated two shinobi from the land of Fire. Although it was not a perfect record and I did not win the tournament, I believe I proved everything that I needed to.
The visiting people have gone home now. Things are starting to get back to normal for a lot of the shinobi in the land. Then there are those who competed in the exams. We go about our daily duties pondering how well we did. Though I am confident in what I've shown, there is always that voice in the very back of my head that wonders. It is a lot different from being caught up in the flow of how things work during the exams. You go from one match to the next match. You always expect something more and prepare for it. Once the matches are over, you are left to wait. To think about everything.
Well, the verdict is in. I Tsiro, of the Kaguya clan have been promoted to Jounin of Kirigakure. While I hear the pay is better, it does not seem too much different from being a Chuunin. It seems like there is a bit more prestige in the position. Not that it matters to me. I guess being in charge and making more ryo to do it are the big pluses.
There has also been out cry from the other countries about how many people actually died during the exams. They act like they sent their people to Konoha. This is Kirigakure. People die here if they are weak. It was a shame about Gansao Kitaru. Then again this is survival of the fittest. As for the others, I believe Konoha lost a couple Genin. Thats not surprising.
I only heard about the demise of Maikeru. I really know very little about how it happened, but a lead surfaced. The man was a mercenary named Wu, Youkio. When we began chasing him, he was heading for the Kumo border. I was travelling with Aoi. She recently was promoted to one of the Seven swordsman. I am not sure if this is one of those ranks that places her in charge of Jounin or if this is like an ANBU rank. Either way she took to commanding me around like a dog. No matter.
The mercenary was pretty skilled. It took me a while to track him. Though I think he knew we were coming before Aoi created the snow storm, he expected us. I was ordered to go first while Aoi stood back and watched. He was slightly above my level, but not so much that I could not keep up. I think Aoi realized this. The guy refused all of her orders to give himself in. She entered into the fray right before the end. Then she gave the order to go ahead and kill him. I think she had some personal feelings towards Maikeru that played into her decision. I did as told though.
Then she gave the order to search him. Not like she was going to do it. I did manage to find an emblem of another country, that he was likely not from. Somehow I go from promotion to lap dog. I know Yuuka was a friend to Maikeru. I guess I'll put up with this situation because he meant something to her.
Once upon a time in my short shinobi life I believed that all Puppet Ninjutsu was restricted to those raised in Sunagakure. Sure it was known that these puppeteers from Sunagakure could become rogue shinobi like any other style user. It just always seemed that the Land of Wind kept a tight lid on these specific styles, because you almost never see a puppeteer on anyone else's pay roll. Perhaps it is because they do not hail from a clan but only a village. This means no clan specific jutsu to protect and die for. Then again, maybe the style is not potent enough for it to be desired by other lands. I am not sure the real reason.
Imagine my surprise when I was dispatched to the neutral zone with a puppeteer that hailed from Kirigakure. His name is Ishino and the puppet he uses is called Time Keeper. I believe he said he was born in Kirigakure but his people originated from Sunagakure. I wonder how this would affect the alliance between the two nations. I am not sure if either side really cares or if it could truly be a cause for war.
The mission was simple. A group comprised mostly of bandits and a few shinobi were attacking people from Kiri. Merchants from our home land were especially targetted. Needless to say, this was not an issue for us. We did not have to blend in or anything. We simply walked towards the Fuuma Alley and a fight began. I moved to the front of the group while Ishino stayed with the wagon. Wave after wave of bandits fell to my bone blades. They continued to focus on me until the leader showed. He was an older man with many forehead protectors on his body. He wore each of them like a trophy. We traded blows but for some reason he ended up becoming slower. Ishino was using Time Keeper to slow the man down. I think it had something to do with a genjutsu. I am certain I could have taken the guy, but Ishino did his job and proved to be an excellent support partner.
There are many unique styles in Kirigakure, but someone who is able to seemingly control time could become dangerous. I will have to keep an eye on him and monitor his growth. My Taijutsu may be one of the ultimate forms, but if my brain is slowed down, it will not matter if I am on target or not.
Since Aoi became one of the Seven Swordsmen, I have pondered if the difference in our strength has truly become that great. For that matter I am not sure how much difference there is between mine and Yuuka's power level. I guess the issue is simply that I have no idea what level of power one of the Swordsmen truly have. I had to add it to my list to spar Aoi. I do believe she is still stronger than me, but I needed to know how much.
Well that day has come and past. I was out in the middle of the lake with mist surrounding me. It was early morning and the Shirayuki appeared. We decided it was a good time to spar. At least I thought it was going to be a spar. She used her elements. They were as impressive as my bones if not more. She did use the sword at the end of the spar but it was too late. She ended up calling the spar. She had not used her true power. I had not really used mine yet either. We had gone through a glorified warm up and she decided to stop before we did too much damage. I understand why though my desires said otherwise.
For now I remain in the dark as to how powerful one of the Seven Swordsmen can be. I will continue to work on my own power level. One day I will be a force to be reckon with. I will truly be the most gifted Shikot in the Kaguya Clan.
In the past I have been summoned to the Mizukage's office to train a new Hunter Nin. I am given their file and tell them a place to meet. From there I design a training method to get them on the right track. I do not decided their operative name or anything like that. However recently, my handler decided to have an elderly moment infront of an ANBU recruit. I informed the recruit if he ever released my indentity that I would end his life. I trust that he will keep it quiet. Not due to my threat, but due to loyalty. If this one bite's me in the butt, it will be many years from now.
Either way I was asked to test the recruit for Anbu. Since I was selected as a tracker, I never actually spent time in the ranks of ANBU. I had to pick my brain for a task that would suit their purposes. I am given a file and told to dispose of them before they become a threat. ANBU is sent off on stealth missions to observe or steal information. This recruit's mission would be no different.
I dropped a letter off under his apartment door. There was a merchant from the neutral zone in the village. He was to find him at the local pub and tail him until he made a drop. The drop was suppose to be with a shinobi looking to betray our village. He was to find the traitor and report who he was. Needless to say I was going to be playing the part of the merchant. I remained henged at the pub until the recruit showed up. Once he had, I waited a little while before leaving the pub. The recruit followed. He was not too bad while we were in town. Out in the woods he was not the best. I continued anyway to the drop point and made the drop. Now came the first twist in the test. I walked off from the drop point making two points that needed to be watched. I walked off through the woods in another direction. The recruit remained behind. At least I had thought. After a while I noticed something following me beneath the ground. It had been the recruit. While he was not stealthy, he had been able to track me the entire time. I left the woods and headed home.
I am currently waiting on the recruit to show up at my door. There was no other shinobi showing up. I wanted to see how long he will wait before checking the drop.
This time I was dispatched out towards the Chill River in a small group. Uzumaki Isra was the most helpful of the group. She seemed to know the most about the area. We were told that there were some discontent in the area. I imagine there was a tip from someone that something was going on in the area. This did not seem to be an open rebellion of any sort. At least not yet. We began to move away from the river and someone took a shot at us. He was an archer. One of those home town heros that could out run the rest of the boys. Unfortunately for him, he was no match for me. I managed to spit a piece of bone at him. Isra was able to construct a barrier around him. He pulled out a seal and ignited it. It was a form of suicide that I guess I admired a bit. Isra searched the body and came across a piece of paper. I recognized it from earlier.
We had passed a home with a similar piece of paper on it earlier. It was chakra paper. The place turned out to be a paper mill. They were making chakra paper. After a threat and a few broken bones, the Miller was more than happy to point us to a trap door. It lead beneath the river into a cavern of paper. There were all sorts of scrolls and documents set to be sent out to the other villages. This was special paper that ignited when torn. It made for easy destruction. Someone was trying to create a coup. I gathered some of the scrolls for evidence before telling Isra to ignite the rest of them. Once she did, it easily flooded the cavern. They had placed the cavern there for a reason. It was an easy way to destroy the cavern and hide the evidence.
This was not a good sign. I am certain we postponed a rebellion for a small amount of time, but these things usually do not go away so easily. I am not sure why the people are so upset. Maybe someone is using them to gain political power. Maybe it is unrest from the last war. I cannot be certain the cause, but I do know that the only guaranteed outcome is trouble.
I recently return to the village from… some Shikot training. The first matter of buisiness was to find someone to practice my new found techniques against. Takeshi's dojo was the first place I went. Kiku and the old man were both there. She sought some kind of a spar against him as well. Something about preparing for some Kaguya named Raiji. She wanted to know if she would be enough to take him down. Takeshi peaked my attention when he stated I would be a better match for the man. It was then that I was informed that Raiji was heading some kind of Kaguya rebellion against my sensei Yuuka. While a rebellion did not bother me, he threatened to kill Yuriko if Yuuka did not hand over Takeshi. Needless to say my blood began to boil. Of course Kiku was trying to befriend him to stab him in the back. Takeshi did not put up a fight in the spar and we easily beat him. I did not even get to test my technique.
The next stop was the Mizukage's office. I had been summoned. I was to bring Kiku in for questioning. When I arrived, Meruin was there. I listened to the two sides make proposals. The village wanted Raiji left alive for questioning. The Kaguya needed him dead. Kiku wanted to subdue him. Meruin wanted Yuuka to kill him in a display. I agreed more with Meruin. There would be a death here. I was then ordered to make both of his direct suborindates vanish. I was later given orders to train Meruin in the ways of the Hunter Nin.
Okumo Meruin was use to poisons and toxins. There was little chance that I could knock him out the same way that I did Jynn. So, instead of taking him to the classroom, Meruin was moved directly to the field test. I selected a low level opponent that I could have taken out myself. The name was Hozuki Ikkaku, also known as the Water Scythe. I gave Meruin his new codename. He is now known as Fukiya. I chose to stick with the tradition passed on by Yuri.
Once Fukiya arrived, I gave him the rules of engagment. First, clan related jutsu were off limits. They only allow witnesses to have an easier time tracking us down. Mission-wise, we were to move in undetected. We were to kill the target and retrieve the head. I even let Fukiya go forward into a few traps. He was perceptive and spotted them before hand. A hunter who lacks perception is nothing more than fodder for the battle field. Once in the facility, Fukiya tried to inject poison into the target. He vanished into a water clone. Had it been any other target, that would have been enough to kill him. As Ikkaku turned towards Fukiya, I managed to take his head. We then used a fire tag, from earlier to cover our escape to draw the attention of the guards, while we escaped.
Yuuka and I decided to pay Kaguya Raiji a visit. He tried to lie and tell us he did nothing. He then claimed we were the instigators and that we were attacking family. He tried to leave and I placed up a bone wall over the exit. Or so I thought. Yuuka moved to attack him. Then it was revealed we were under a Genjutsu. Yuuka stabbed a child and I created a bone wall over a normal wall. After that I managed to hit him with my Dance of the Clematis. He was wounded. No one survives that attack twice. Most are unable to fight after once. Either way, he managed to escape. He was heading somewhere safe where he could try to regenerate. Yuuka and I parted ways for the night after leaving the bar. Yuuka wanted to settle this with a single corpse. I'm not sure I agree with her that a solution could be made by simply killing Raiji.
A night later I returned to the bar. This time my target was a small Kaguya named Todoshi. He was the subordinate of Raiji. A man I was ordered to kill by the village. Instead of making him silently vanish, I decided he needed to die. He needed to be an example to the others of the Kaguya Way. I attacked the smaller man. He fought a lot better than I thought he would. In the end we were both bleeding badly and exhausted. He refused to die. Like a mosquito he continued to buzz around until I finally managed to nail him to the side of the bar. I carved a "1" into his forehead. He was not the first corpse I planned on making in this battle. After that I thought the others might attack me in my weakened state. Instead they began to cheer me.
Recently the heir to the Shirayuki throne was deemed a missing nin. Yep, Kirigakure officially dispatched me to take the head of a prince. Well, capture if possible. Ishino and I ventured lightly into the land of Fire to gather some intel. Shortly after our arrival in one of the villages we were met by a familiar face. Uchiha Naru was there to greet us. I doubt it was intentional, but she wanted us gone from the land. I last heard she herself was no longer working for the fire village. That did not stop her from going straight into battle. There was little small talk as she struck out with her lightning based jutsu. She managed to bring the pain to both myself and Ishino. She had even unlocked some new eye jutsu with her Sharingan. Needless to say it was time for us to retreat after a few minutes of combat.
Ishino tossed a poisoned kunai at her and I whipped my spine to tangle her up. We were both surprised when both landed. She was badly hurt and without medical attention, would die. I am not sure what it was the caused me to turn back. I sent Ishino onwards to the next village. I had already decided to take her to the hospital. I was not going to lose my greatest rival like that. Ishino decided to give me the antitidote to the poison, in order to nullify it. I gave it to Naru and then directed a villager to take her to the nearest medical facility. As I gave her the antitidote, I told her that I will never truly understand her and that I thought she was evil. As I left, she told me that she would never understand me. In this rivalry, I know I have more tallies in the win column, but I am not sure if either of us has come out ahead. In this encounter, I managed to walk away, but we both remain confused.

Thoughts on The Shinobi Lands
Iwagakure
I have never met anyone from this land though I hear they are very disciplined and well trained. One would expect that out of any of the Five Great Shinobi Villages. What makes this village different? An affinity for earth style ninjutsu? Hopefully one day I will find out what separates this village from the others.
Kirigakure
Home. To everyone else we are simply an aggressive nation. Chances are they might be right. At least we are good at what we do. We have remained true to the ways of the shinobi. Our ninja are at home among the beasts of the swamps because we do not pretend to be something other than beasts.
All is not chaos and death as it might seem though. Even among us there are places for things like friendship and loyalty. We just do not place them in every single person around us or hold
them as high as other ideals.
Konohagakure
This nation has managed to separate itself from some of the beliefs of the shinobi world. They seem to have adopted new beliefs to make up for the ones they have gotten away from. I understand how sheer numbers in a battle can be an advantage, but is mass quanity really better than quality? Does believing the person next to you has your back really make you fight harder? Can a ninja that has never really felt on the verge of death fight with everything they have?
In my only experience with the leaf, the answer to those questions seems to be a yes. In the same battle though I did watch a single mist chuunin out perform a leaf chuunin and a couple of genin. I guess I am still undecided. Only the future will really answer these questions. It would seem for now there will be a lot of future conflict with the leaf.
Kumogakure
Supposedly they are as good with a blade as those from Kirigakure. The fact people compare them to the shinobi of our land only makes them seem like they are second rate. As far as other weapons, they probably have us. Like the other villages they are said to have disciplined shinobi.
I did have a mission where I crossed a monk from here. We attacked their convoy. He was well versed in water style jutsu. While he fought a chuunin and a genin from our country, I was able to steal one of his two medical wagons.
Sunagakure
The Land of Wind is a desolate wasteland that no one truly wants. The people there have adapted to the harsh conditions. Normal people might visit but no one in their right mind stays there. Even rogue shinobi hate the idea of living there. I would hate to ever go to war with these people. Their village is hidden deep in the land. There are only certain times of year that would even make an attack viable due to the environment.
There are a lot of shady people found in the Land of Wind. I am sure the village has a lot of problems protecting the roads let alone its borders.
Lesser Villages
For the most part, I wonder why lesser villages exist. Are they villages trying to gain power and become a great shinobi nation? Why have they not just joined with the larger villages? Are their personal beliefs that different from the majority of other villages? Do they even get missions?
I have only met one man from a lesser village. He seemed to be a master of the water style. He took out a contract with our village. I wonder why he is not working for his own village, or is he?

Weapons of Interest
Shinken (The Hunter)
Full name: Shinken
Rank: A
Wanted by: Kirigakure
Reward: 600,000r
Bounty Status
Bounty Still Unclaimed
Very little is truly known about Shinken due horrible record keeping during the foundation of Kirigakure. Of what little there is to go off of, he is believed to have been one of the first Hunter Nin tasked with hunting down Missing Nin. Somewhere in his duties, something snapped causing him to start hunting down members of the ANBU task force. Investigations showed he had been responsible for the massacre of three units. There are several other cases from the time that have gone cold, but he is believed to be responsible for.
Subject shows no signs of original personality. Only the Shinken persona. Subject is only known to have two factors that can make him violently unstable. visibly spotting other people with masks in their posession or removal of his own mask. As long as neither of these criteria are met, subject seems harmless.
Shun (The Black Rose)
Full name: Gushiken, Shun
Rank: A
Wanted by: Kirigakure
Reward: 500,000r
Bounty Status
Bounty Still Unclaimed
Gushiken, Shun came up through the village system. She was one of the most gifted Genjutists known at the time. However on her last A rank mission, she did not return. Neither did her team. Reports of villages filled with zombie-like villagers poured in causing a task force to be sent out to deal with the issue. After following the trail of villages, the force finally caught up to Shun. Reports show she had been crying.
Subject is known to use a Withering Rose Genjutsu. The jutsu causes severe depression to it's victim. No longer does a victim wish to perform any daily task such as eating or drinking. After a while the tears dry up followed by the victim's strength. If left untreated, the victim will die slowly. Even if treated the victim is never the same as they were before.
Shun appears to be jealous of any type of joy brought by love or companionship between others. Subject herself does not tolerate rejection. Her favorite game is to count the petals of a rose. If she comes up with an even number, it ends in "he loves me not." I only hope she runs into all odd numbers of petals. The first sign of violent instability is tears. She is best left alone in isolation.
Misaki (The Chosen)
Full name: Kosui, Misaki
Rank: S
Wanted by: Kirigakure
Reward: 5,000,000r
Bounty Status
Bounty Still Unclaimed
Subject's name is believed to be Kosui, Misaki although that could be an alias or a name picked up from someone she sacrificed to Jashin. There is actually nothing to confirm who she is or is not. Due to a forehead protector she had on her at the time of capture, it was believed she could have originated from Kumogakure. They have refused to claim knowledge of her. Subject shows signs of having some form of shinobi training, but nothing extensive.
When she was finally brought in, subject was wearing a skeleton like face paint. The paint soon vanished. Since we have not been able to duplicate it. In other notes, the subject shows an extremely high pain tolerance that seems linked with her devotion to this Jashin god. Even when an arm has been severed, it is able to be attached once more. This is claimed to be a gift from Jashin for her devotion. When she was apprehended, she claims to have been sacrificing the impure to Jashin.
