Hiro is the only child of Katayama clan; Kijuro, a generalist shinobi in the service of the Raikage, servant to the Yotsuki clan. Hainako, researcher for Kumogakure Medical Research and Development Division. Hiro himself is an accomplished combat medic, an avid naturalist which stems from his traditional adherence to Zen Mastery. Known to be a little too smart for his own good, a little goofy at times, and at worst condescending to those who staunchly appose his views.

In the twilight, three springs before the great war, a male son was born to Kijuro and Hainako of the Katayama family. A Lesser family in the Kumogakure of no real major note, reliable and of adequate demeanor and skill, their family service in the city and land was just one of the many lower families who serve. Kijuro, a Shinobi, spent much time away from his family and wife, perhaps to his own chagrin assigned with his cousin by wedlock, Yotsuke Kenshin, to whom they shared a healthy but heated rivalry, spawned out of resentment that Hainako had married into a lesser family than her birthright would dictate. His beloved Hainako, an adept medical ninja and herbalist spent her time away from the front-lines tending to her duties as medical ninja and as a mother.

Soon the days stained with the blood of conflict ebbed and receded into the relative peace that followed, and their son becomes of an adequate age to begin his training. In absence of his father, many of his earliest instructions came from his mother as he tagged along with her while performing her daily duties. He idolized her passion for the well-being of others and her ability to affect their lives so positively with her healing art. His idyllic worship of her art always seemed to detract from his studies that conflicted with his vision, while others learned to save themselves with; replacement techniques, clones and transformations. He would instead focus his efforts on helping others before himself, leaving him ill-equipped to brandish; taijutsu, and genjutsu on par with his compatriots. However, the constant honing of his chakra and stamina with the demanding precision of the medical arts, pushed his understanding of ninjustu beyond those same peers.

His time in the academy was fraught with teasing for his inability to grasp the more basic tenants of the ninja arts, however, his intelligence and chakra reserve afforded him a quicker grasp of the defensive arts, particularly the use of seals. While some afforded their time to mastering paper-tag explosives and the like, he continued on his crusade to defend others before himself. It was not beyond his pride to beg, apologize, and flatter his way to avoid physical altercations. While this furnished him little respect as a fighter, his vehement defense of his teammates and tendency to rejuvenate anyone fatigued, This tendency did portray him as one who works well with others and has a tendency to temper the tenacity of his group.

His father, whom had stayed in state of constant transience from mission to mission over the span of several years, finally found himself with a period of time to spend with his family. To his disappointment, his son had not progressed quite like he expected, lacking in the basic skills but possessing an odd assortment of jutsu techniques. He sat down with his son and spoke with him rather frankly "I will not tolerate your dereliction of your studies and I am disappointed in you, but that is no excuse for me to shirk my duties as your father. I will instruct you in my knowledge of Seals, and in return I expect you to promise me that you will endeavor to make yourself a more well rounded shinobi, and be of better use to your friends and teammates. Until you have achieved this, I want you to wear a badge of shame, as time has been cruel to me, you will mirror this by shaving your head bald as well.". And true to his word, he did share with his son some of his ninjutsu acumen but only after a very long and very loud haircut.

Hiroyasu, endeavoring to gain back the faith of his father and more importantly his hair, continued his studies until his time to graduate to a Genin. He barely passed the physical examinations, mostly based on his endurance not his strength, but his academic scores, and chakra control scored well enough that he was moved along. Now he awaits assignment to a team and for his journey as a Genin to begin.

An Intellectual enigma, his personality is strongly affected by his experiences as a Medic, his spiritual beliefs in pursuit of Enlightenment. In Social situations, he can be jovial, light-hearted, and chatty. When it matters; be that a mission or tight situation his demeanor is usually quite the opposite, he is quiet, cold and serious.

Appearance

A young man whose youthful complexion is shadowy by nature; an earthy tint stained upon him by his heritage. He stands about 1.6m tall, his build is slim, and carries with it a slight wispy fragility. A curious feature draws the eye upward to his head which should be covered in hair is lacking any such inclination, it seems smooth and unblemished, cordially wrapped neatly in a pristine white Hitai-ate with carbon steel plate, the etching of the clouds signifies Kumogakure of the Land of Lightning. Resting calmly upon his nose are a pair of wire-frame glasses from which his vibrant jade eyes peer. When visible, a Lotus blossom tattoo is splashed across his left shoulder.

His manner of dress is simple, consisting of a black koromo with white accents, covered by a pocketed rakusu, it's color that of slate accented with carbon steel and a Kumogakure emblem emboldened in white on the center. Although rarely seen underside the koromo is the layer of mesh armor. Upon his feet a pair a black shinobi sandals also trimmed with white. Resting at the small of his back is a medium sized pouch with a medical kit resting atop it.

A web of thick ropes cradle upon his upper back a large boulder concave on top, the ropes adorned with sutra charms making it seem more like a monastery decoration. Along the top of the boulder a thin rim is barely visible but betrayed by sunken earthen handle.
On this occasion, draped across shoulders flows a thick traveling cloak whose color and cut form fit to his ensemble bringing a utility and harmony to his appearance.

Satomi	Casual Friend	One of the first people I met from konoha, she seems lazy and is but she is kind and liked to tease Hiei. Has a good eye for bathing suits.
Nori	Friend/Mentor	He's an unusual soul, just like me. He talks to tree's and has a smart horse. His abilities are mind boggling, but his spiritual view taught me to see the soul
Fudo	Mystery	I met him once or twice, once during a mission but he didn't say much was very intense and focused.
Daisuke	Asshat	My first encounter with him was not pleasant all he did was look down on me.. But at his house, we was very gracious but I think satomi had him by the fleshy bits with her shadow capture

Kanbei	Rival/Antithesis	The only thing we agree on, that neither of us agree with each other. He is combat obsessed and has 0 respect for the well-being of others. He does keep me busy with all the people he harms.
Iminari	Interest	She is such a muted personality, but her intelligence and skills are definitely interesting. I feel like she has more beneath the surface.
Sado	Rock Enthusiast	Rocks, Rocks, Rocks, this kid has rocks for brains, and displays all the typical markers of a Yotsuki clansmen.. sigh
Kayaru	Mentor	Sensei and Kayaru do not get along, but it doesn't matter Kayaru seems to be typical for Reizei. Cold and Detached but he does provide us with training and guidance. More than Sensei has.

#1	Dear Mother, I've have arrived in the Land of fire, its poorly named because it doesn't actually burn, at least our land has lightning storms. The escort group that came for us is unusual, there is a lazy Nara chuunin and her pupils. She made them do exercises almost the entire way while she slept on the back of a ox. These Leaf ninja are queer to say the least. I expect to send you other letter once we arrive in Konohagure. I miss you already. <3 Hiro
#2	We have arrived in Konohagakure, it's a beautiful place mother, green trees, babbling streams and very generous and kind people. They a little strange, This guy Inuzuka Atsuro has a talking dog! He can have conversations with you and is really polite! Atsuro is not so much his sense of humor escapes me currently. I also met this timid young yamanaka, he was outside in the fields which his trained horse. I think we will be good friends <3 Hiro
#3	The Yotsuki and I are getting along fine, more or less. All he wants to do is eat ramen (Yuck) and train. I've setup a small camp at the lake here I just can't stay in that cramped lodging. I'm learning to cook mother isn't that great! While at the Lake, I met some strange gentlemen from Iwagakure, I had no idea other villages travelled amongst each other so readily why don't we see foriegn nin in Kumo? I wonder. Anyways, I love you mother and I miss you <3 Hiro
#4	Today, Sensei brought a terrible little animal girl named Misaki to the team. I do not like her, she's mean and cold and distant. She even kicked Sensei. I don't know what sensei sees in this girl, I think she is worse than a feral cat.

+  The True Fire Burns Not

#1	A group of villagers and disgruntle shinobi have formed a group called the True Fire Movement (TFM). They have started to strike at the village in a passive aggressive sort of way. But not for long, it seems that tempers are flaring as violence has broke out. I helped the Yamanaka help to stop from TFM from getting their hands on a cache of explosives. And I killed my first enemy, not sure I feel he deserved it..
#2	Hiei and Misaki have really come together, in more ways than one, but as a team we are really connecting. She has become like a little sister to me, we get along a lot better now. She has very strange abilities, I think sensei knew this and chose her for her Kinjutsu or Hidenjutsu whatever it is. Her and Hiei still eat too much ramen, they smell like it, I wish I could tell them they stink like rotten beef stock.
#3	The True Fire have struck, they got together a massive force, but they just threw rocks and marched at the wall of the village. The Damiyo has declared them insurgents and instructed both his forces and the leaf shinobi to deal with it. The Leaf here with me are just murdering them 10 and 20 villagers at a time. Hiei has joined them, I had no choice but to defend myself.. So many corpses, the leaf refuse bury them. I guess it will be a long night.
#4	It didn't take long, but it's been several days since the "Incident", the Hokage has been gracious to us and even extended the friendship between our villages. The True Fire seems mostly broken and disorganized, the only groups left are the ones supported by Missing Nin or foreign interests. The Villagers have gone back home to mourn the dead, I feel like shinobi may be not welcome in the outlands for a long time. I hope they understand the difference between the villages, Kumogakure did not murder their friends and family, it was their Damiyo.

+  The Exams

#1	Leafies! errr Konoha Shinobi started showing up with invitations to the Chuunin Exams.. I'm not really interested, barbaric sport for the entertainment of the various Daimiyo and clan heads.. but really what does it prove that we will beat down friends? Family? lovers? all for the promise of a juicy carrot disguised as a promotion. Naturally Hiei and Misaki are frothing at the mouth at the chance, I don't understand them
#2	So we arrived in Konoha, to little fanfare or greeting.. I guess I expected a little more than, let me see your info.. proceed.. Anyways, when I arrived first place I went was the lake, I had so many good times there. I ran into several people I knew and a couple I didn't. Atsuro's humor hasn't improved but at least Taizen makes up that deficit in character. My Princess is also in town for a little while too! The written part of the exam is coming up very soon, that should be a piece of cake but I worry about Hiei and Misaki on it.. they aren't known for training much with the pen.
#3	First off, that written part was silly, only in Konoha do they have to worry about such minor or ridiculous things. I fear they have grown really complacent and lazy. So I am about to go into the forest of death with my friends and allies this should be fun.. Atsui, Nori, Hiei, Amani, Sosuke, Katsurou, Fudo so many allies we should easily beat out Kiri, Suna, Iwa, or the anyone!
#4	Wrong, Wrong, Wrong… I don't even know.. I can't even begin to explain how wrong this whole village is.. If this how they train or allow their chuunin to act. Fudo, what is wrong with him, he went for the throat of konoha shinobi almost immediately by the end the other nations didn't have to do much to even pass. Only Amani made it to the finals, Fudo saw to that, attacking me and nearly finishing me off in the interim.. I hope to never have to deal with him.. in fact I am going to see if we can ban him from ever entering Kumo or Land of Lightning again.. we don't need allies who seek profit and pride over duty and honor.
