What's a Jutsu?

Ichiyo, what can be said about him currently? He's a student for the newly reopened acadamy of Sunagakure. He was raised by Morri Tadashi, a local watch maker and part time inventor for the ninja of the village. Ichiyo never knew his mother and father who were killed in the great ninja war before the village was formed. Dispite that, he wants to train to become a ninja, hoping to keep a connection alive with his real parents. Because he grew up with Morri Tadashi, he has a love of the mechanical and is a little eccentric for an 8 year old boy.

Ichiyo was orphaned soon after he was born. Both parents were chuunin mercenaries hired by the land of wind to protect caravans. They were lost in the war during such a mission. The person in charge of Ichiyo was unable to care for him for very long after news of his parents death reached what is now Sunagakure. So she handed him over to the orphanage, but several years later when it closed down, he left to wander the streets for a time. As it was for many orphans of that time, he was picked up by Nai. There were few couples willing to take Ichiyo in who could provide him a stable home. So having few choices Ichiyo was left with an old, but kindly, watch maker and part time inventor named Morri Tadashi. Tadashi helped the village from time to time developing weapons and technology for the Sunagakure shinobi. It was a rough start and he still calls Tadashi his 'ojiisan' or 'old man'. But, it was there that Ichiyo became interested in machines and technology. But also a fondness for the ninja his 'father' worked closely with when he wasn't working on clocks. Ichiyo worked hard trying to emulate the ninja he saw. He felt the more he practiced, the closer to his real mother and father he would be. It was the only connection he had with them. They were ninja and he wanted to be a ninja. It was through this bond that Ichiyo eventually joined the ninja academy once it was up and running again.

Ichiyo is an inquisitive sort, always willing to go the extra mile to find out a fact or put himself in danger to discover some important bit of information. Ichiyo is as perfectly at home covered head to toe in grime and oil than he is scrubbed clean and practicing in a dojo. He is a gear head, someone who collects and paws over technology. Ichiyo loves gears, cogs, pulleys, and levers. He can never have enough and his room is covered with them. He'll even incorporate them into his ninjutsu if he ever had the chance. Ichiyo admires well crafted tools as others would admire an art object. Ichiyo is a smart boy with the knowledge of mechanics taught from his adopted father, Ichiyo knows more about it, second only to his father. All of his training to becoming a ninja, and to keep the bond with his real parents going, has paid off. It's given him a much higher skill level in hand to hand than a normal child going into the academy. He believes his family imparted such skills to him, being that they were ninja themselves, but it was through hard work in keeping the bond with his parents open that allowed him to have such skills.
