Background
Having lived alone with her father since birth, the Nara girl was named after her mother Mayoi, who passed away while giving birth to her. Upon learning that both her father and mother were shinobi, Mayoi followed the same path, but with some difficulty. While she was talented enough, many were concerned that the girl was unable or unwilling to shoulder the responsibilities of being a ninja. Mayoi was disinterested and bored by many things, even by certain ninja fundamentals like Taijutsu. Concern by her instructors led to Mayoi failing to graduate from Konoha's Academy. She spent another year in the Academy, earning teasing and bullying from students and Genin alike, as well as scorn from her Father and clan. Mayoi would eventually graduate from the Academy, a year older than the other Genin.
Two years later, Mayoi participated in the Chuunin Exams to the surprise of many. Even more surprising was her passing, becoming a Chuunin and promptly hating the added responsibilities.
Personality
Mayoi's personality is extremely unusual, combining the usual laziness of a Nara with a bizarre, introverted mind. Her thought processes are often nonsensical; her weird, sometimes circular logic and strange sense of humour are enough to frustrate or even anger anyone who tries to fully understand her or get to know her. Emotion plays little into Mayoi's words and thoughts. While making acquaintances is easy enough for her, Mayoi struggles to make friends, and is often shunned and regarded as a "weirdo".
