Background

+ The Quiet Past

At the age of 12 year old she was enrolled to the academy. She caught on quickly and graduated two years later. At this point her mother, Sorako had seen the direction things were heading in the village and was asked to help in grooming the girl, teaching her how to activate her kekkei genkai of Blood Release. This training was harder and caused Kiji much frustration but she learned Blood Rain finally. It took place mostly at the internment camp where Sorako worked as a doctor over the course of two more years.

At a time when she was 16, Kiji was allowed to move out of the camp and live in the village itself. Due to reasons she kept to herself, Kiji spent the first few years hiding her gender, pretending to be male as well as dying her hair black in a hope to fit in better. She was socially awkward and wasn't sure how else to act around people.

After some time she finally admitted she was a girl and began wearing a skirt something she felt was required of females. (She really didn't know much about social life.) In the process she ended up getting close with Okumo Sei and Moto Kiyoshi. Her heart, unguarded as it was against emotions, was split between the two.

Personality

Kiji is usually a serious type, though she has been known to relax around certain people. She does have a few triggers, though. She will fight to defend something she considers hers or Kirigakure's without a second thought. When it comes to friendships, once Kiji is your friend, she will do nearly anything for you. But she is not the best at meeting new people. She does not trust easily or fully. When it comes to jokes and such she can be a bit dense, not picking up on someone flirting with her, for example, would be a typical Kiji thing.

Appearance

Kiji stands about 5'4" tall with long raven hair and opal eyes. Her long hair is typically allowed to fall freely to her waist. She wears a black t-shirt and black pants over which is a typical ninja's kunai holder. On her feet are black sandals and around her waist is a belt with many pouches on it. One her right hand is a unique metal ring, the top of which is very sharp and along her left forearm are faint white lines, remnants of old scars.

 For the Love of Two

I have a word for this feeling between me and Kiyoshi and Sei. Meruin-dono says it's "love". But even with that people expect me to choose between them. Can a person not love more than one? I do not understand this pairing off of people. Why do they feel the need to insist on their mates not loving anyone but them? I do not understand and no one seems willing to talk to me about it. I have spent weeks on this, wondering if I could choose between them…. I.. I can't comprehend a world without either of them… I don't know what to do about it either. Kiyoshi is pressing me to choose as well…. It's.. It's hard. I don't want to hurt him…

 A verdict and a Fate

My choice has been made for me. I will be Kiyoshi's mate. So I must hide my feelings for Sei completely. Kiyoshi can't know this was chosen for me either. He would be so hurt by that knowledge. I don't know why I'm even writing about it. I can't allow him to know. To make things a little worse, I have a suspicion that I am a pawn in a certain man's plans… I cannot shake the feeling that he chose Kiyoshi because he knows Kiyoshi doesn't like it here. Am I just a convenient way for the leaders to keep Kiyoshi 'in line'? I really hope not….

 Chuunin Exams

I have been in these barracks for a few weeks now. It's not a comfortable place to be but it's tolerable. This was my chance to show Meruin-dono that I'm worth the life he gave me. But mostly I feel like I'm losing track of reality. I can't seem to separate the visions from reality. Everything starts in the barracks anyway and then… I saw the village burn and flood, I saw Meruin-dono die… I failed him in that test because I leapt up to take revenge even at the cost of my own life… I could tell that displeased him… I don't want to face his other students who clearly did so much better than I… But I have to try anyway… If I am useless i will be destroyed. It's that simple. So.. climb the ranks…

 Jounin Promotion

I've been promoted to Jounin. So has Naoya. Sei told us privately but it seems… strange. I'm more of a soldier than a leader.. At least that's how I feel. Though people have seemed to look up to me i the past I wonder just how much they rely on me. I suppose I have the ability to lead when it comes to it. Like in the chuunin exams. Those visions really messed with my head though.

 New Abilities

There has been a group of Shirayuki working on the fringes to gather the components for some kind of weapon. Yoichi, Naoya and myself went to see if we could figure out what exactly they were transporting. We expected resistance, bringing three Jounin and no others, but we came up against a practical wall of ice and snow monsters. Yoichi-sensei was singled out by the apparent leader of this group, a woman. She seems to be focused on him for some reason.
In any case, there was enough resistance that we were pretty heavily pounded on and Yoichi-sensei moved in in one last desperate attempt to see what was in the wagons. I had no choice but to use the jutsu that I've been working on but not quite mastered. My bloody pinion.. wings made of blood. It took quite a bit of study of various predatory bird shapes and anatomies to get it right… buuuuut…. I suck at landing. I swooped in and picked up Yoichi-sensei and got him out of there. Naoya-san had already headed for safety. Apparently he trusts me. Anyway.. I.. really need to learn how to land….

 Second Shirayuki attack

The three of us, Myself, Yoichi-sensei, and Naoya-san went to try and break the strength of the Shirayuki military. We thought we were facing a caravan and instead we came up against an army encampment. Once again I Used my wings (they're great for being flashy and drawing attention). But this time we had to withdraw. There was too many… I managed to capture two enemies but in the process I took an Ice blast right to the spine. Than the sage that Sei's spiders were there to help reinforce my wings before I just fell from the sky. I was apparently unconscious for a few days.

Now I'm in a wheelchair. I have been in this kind of situation before. Some things take a bit more work to heal, especially when the injured person is low on chakra.

 Wheelchairs and Ninjutsu

Being lame like this is getting on my nerves. I tried to stand using my blood to make braces for my legs. But I can only go a few steps before I lose control entirely and the braces shatter as if they have been sucked dry of chakra. Sei scolded me, Naoya would smack me. But I really feel a need to DO ../something/. In the meantime I have learned something about one of the students at the academy.. It makes me worry even more about the Shirayuki clan… They treated Tsubaki like crap and a splinter cell of them is trying to destroy the village… and now this? I have serious doubts and concerns about the.. But I will keep my peace for now… See how things work out…
