Background

+ Reveal: The Past

Naota was born to Chiaki Rankoro and Hun Rankoro. The three of them were quite a happy family, working further and further on the research of the clan, trying to understand that seal and scroll calligraphy to the point of holding the elemental abilities. His father was able to unlock that ability first, quickly showing his mother how to do such and resulting in Naota starting with a small heads up on such things. He spent most of his child hood in books, learning the methods and scribing styles of his parents instead of playing outside. While this resulted in him being stronger in both ninjutsu and seals, it also made him weaker for strength, taijutsu and speed. This resulted in him generally being the last picked for quite a few teams and the like. In the end, Naota didn't seem to mind really, more intently focused on his learning of that calligraphy. He always had a pen on him as well as ink and the special paper for such things. A minor trick he'd do to anyone who did try to pick on Naota was a simple seal, written onto anything it'd cause a small spark that would zap the closest person to it. His life within Kemurigakure area, before the villages were formed was a simple one, his family together and happy was something that very few of the shinobi world ever obtain.

Being such a book worm, he was good at what he did, quickly obtaining what was considered genin level, although this was still before the villages existed. He started assisting his parents on various missions, working with them as a trio to do more together, than any one of them could alone. As he grew older, he learned some other skills required for chakra manipulation, both the water walking and tree walking fairly simple compared to the complex calligraphy Naota was having to learn. Having mastered those abilities, the villages were founded around this time, causing much interest for both his family and the rest of the clan. As time has moved on and the major villages become fully established, it was decided by the clan they needed to find out more. Each of the villages got a representative sent to them. His own parents were contacted in Kemurigakure to send him to Konohagakure to both see how they might interact and if further information could be gotten from them.

Working for a good two years now with Konohagakure, Naota has been sent on various missions to prove both his usefulness and loyalty. These missions, along with the ambassadorship from Kemurigakure allowed him to be officially known as a chuunin within Konohagakure. While he continues to send reports to his parents about Konoha, he's in inner turmoil about Konoha and it's interaction with his own village. They don't seem to be in conflict yet, however if the wrong person was to get in charge, it could be dangerous. Mayhap even deadly. Generally a quiet person, he's quite keen on taking notes about many things, only one potential item among the many scrolls he carries on him. To some, it's a lot of extra paperwork. To Naota, it's his entire ability to both defend himself and prove himself useful to others.

Personality

Naota is a polite, curious and knowledgable shinobi. He's quite happy to make friends and tries to avoid conflict when possible. While avidly interested in what similar shinobi might be doing, he is focused on obtaining skills similar to his parents and increasing his own ability that much more.

Appearance

A tall teen, he was dressed in a casual outfit that one would generally associate with a shinobi. Simple shoes, not quite skin tight pants and shirt, with a vest over the top of that. Light brown hair was slicked back into a low pony tail at the back of his head, it framed aqua eyes in an otherwise friendly looking face. Fit, without being overly so, the one thing noted about this teen was the amount of scrolls on him. Not only did he have an overly large scroll on his back, but he also had scrolls in side pockets at each hip, smaller scrolls at pouches beside his knees and even some scrolls in that vest. There was a thin set of frames for glasses that looked to help with vision on his face as well, only certain moments having the light hide those eyes behind that sheen of glass.

Ninja Journal

+ Show Entry #01: Initial contact with Konohagakure

Greetings,

I have successfully entered Konohagakure and joined their shinobi force. These notes, as part of the agreement of me working here, are accessable by the Hokage and her workers. I will both write down my findings and thoughts about what occurs while I am within Konohagakure. Initial reactions have been approving, most people are friendly and easy going. I look forward to further work with Konohagakure.

+ Show Entry #02: Interaction with shinobi of Konohagakure

Greetings,

This is entry one of the ongoing reports I am writing during my time period within Konohagakure. I have settled in well enough with the rest of the shinobi. There are a few notable personalities that I have come in contact with.

The first one whom I have to write about is Nara Satomi. From what I can tell, there is something of a strategic history for this girl. She's very elusive on the field, manipulating the world and (Removed due to protection of clan secrets. ~Hokage Secretary). She has taken to assisting me with more specific strategies on the field. While my own personal focus has been defense, working with her has enabled me to start on that focus with what I call a 'Ring of Defense' of seals. I have also become part of what she calls 'team shadow strike'. Rather bolsterous, in my opinion, but not that I would come up with much more.

There is also the student Uzumaki Miyo. She looks to be one that is also involved with seals, although nothing like the calligraphy that I have been taught. While still a student, she has a certain intelligence to her that will make further interactions interesting, to say the least. There is a certain innocence to her as well it seems, leading to a very unique shinobi.

While I have more to report about, I will continue to fill out this type of entry system in following letters.

+ Show Entry #03: An interest in drawing

Greetings,

The world of shinobi is a very unique situation. On one hand, everyone seeks to become stronger. On the other, they try to be human at the same time. This causes quite a few to have unusual dynamics between having to be in conflict and 'down time' that is generally assigned to either interactions with others or training. Of course for a shinobi to be as extreme as they can be, they have to train hard. Making for very unusual scenarios.

This leads me to Atsuro. The man has a partner in a large dog named Taizen. Together they make quite the formitable team. While Atsuro seems a bit on the braggart side, Taizen has a quiet demeanor that compliments Atsuro nicely it seems. As they work together so well, it is very hard to think of them in combat as anything other than one unit. Considering I am now part of a team, I wonder if I may ever get to that same interaction with my team mates at some point. I have done a few drawings of Atsuro, bringing out what seems to be a latient admirer of art within him. It will be interesting interacting with him further.

This report will continue as I write more throughly about those that I meet.
