Yorishiro was born to a dishonored family within the Saito clan that had since moved further out into the Land of Lightning to be away from the rest of the shinobi world. He was the first child born to the family and was followed by a sister a few years younger than Yori. When his sister was born however it was a difficult birth and in the following days his mother died despite the doctors best efforts. Since they lived outside of the recently founded Shinobi Villages there were no medic nin to help and was likely the ultimate reason behind her death. Despite the death Yori's father decided to keep his children away from Kumogakure and, as Yori got a little older, to train him in his own way.

Yori's father had developed his own style of fighting, something that he intended to pass down to his son. While the man had been the one to develop it he only got so far and, because of his lack of other general shinobi qualities and abilities, he had been shamed from the clan. His thoughts now centered around starting Yori early so he could grow the style to be his own as well as learn other abilities. Thus as soon as the kid was able to walk the basics began and continued through his early years. Time that others spent playing he would be training. After the first few years his father gave him the keys to the style he'd created - a pair of specially made vambraces, layered over the length with a special metal that could conduct and absorb chakra. Using the special vambraces the style was one used more to defend oneself and others with attacking being secondary. This went well with the Saito clan's position of being Senshi and, in this way, he hoped to gain back his own honor through his child.

Years passed and training continued, only becoming more intense as Yori got older. One day when he was eight Yori and his little sister were out enjoying some of the little free time the boy was allowed and playing at a nearby lake. They were attacked by a vagabond, a man trying to kidnap Yori's sister though no explanation was given as to why. The boy managed to fend off the vagabond and, in the end, he killed the man with a kunai. Yori didn't escape unharmed however and would forever more bear a long thing scar across his chest. During his recovery from the attack Yori and his sister were taken out of his father's care by relatives he'd only met once before and was brought to live in Kumogakure. It wouldn't be until two years later that he'd find out his father had hired the vagabond to test Yori's abilities.

The next three years Yori lived under the more civilized household of his aunt and uncle, both Saito clan members of high esteem. Through this time he would begin his training at the academy as well as receiving extra training from the relatives that had now adopted him and his sister as their own. While his goal didn't change the reason behind it did. He no longer cared to restore honor to his father, only to himself and his sister after being from such a dishonorable family. The style his father created did continue to grow and expand with the boy as he aged and even his relatives had some new ideas. Thus his focus became on making something good out of everything bad and he practiced as much with the metal vambraces as he did with other shinobi tools. He made his own defensive and offensive skills though he had help and he quickly became better with the special vambraces than anyone had thought would be possible. Now he's graduated from the academy and is beginning his life as a genin, his ultimate goal of being a Senshi at the forefront of his mind.

Yori is very much a respectful youth. He treats all others with respect and reverence and can sometimes be considered a bit overly formal. He's intelligent and that comes through in the way he speaks, sometimes confusing people who don't know him. With his age it's surprising his intelligence. He tends to be silent in the presence of people of higher rank and is willing to do anything he can to help others, no matter the cost to himself. He's a good boy and does his best to make sure everyone else is safe and taken care of before he ever thinks about himself.

Appearance

Show General Description

Yori is a thin boy in his teens, tall for his age at a bit over five foot. Light brown hair tops his head, cut somewhat short but having somewhat of a moppish quality that keeps it from doing anything but tangling despite its length. Intelligent and bright golden brown eyes peer out from gentle features giving the boy a bit of a hawkish piercing look when he looks at people. While he may be thin the boy has a lot of tightly threaded muscle hiding beneath his clothing, showing that despite his age he's had years of intense physical activity.

Yori's clothing is fairly simplistic in that it's all a somewhat faded black and all a little loose on him. The long sleeved shirt covers down to his hands and even falls past them when his arms are straight down. A matching pair of loose fitting pants helps to give him ease of movement and no real restriction. Wrapped around one thigh is a standard shinobi pack that carries the supplies any shinobi should have. Beneath his long shirt sleeves one might catch the occasional glint of metal though it disappears as soon as his arm moves again and the sleeve falls back into place.
