Background
Senju Youmu is part of the first generation to be born after the formation of the Hidden Villages. While war has not exactly stopped happening, her knowledge of it is mainly peripheral, and she doesn't know anything outside of life in the Hidden Leaf. Her parents were supportive of her wishes to enroll in the ninja academy, as that is mainly where children go in the Village to receive anything approaching a formal education. However, her ideas of what it's like being a ninja are largely romanticized, and despite warnings about danger, she still mostly has the idea that people are being too cautious.
It's all a big game to her, at least right now. Sooner or later, reality is going to come crashing down on her, and it will be a true test of her mental, physical, and spiritual fortitude as to how she copes with it.

Appearance
Youmu is a tiny little girl with long black hair in a high ponytail, tied up with a red ribbon. Slender black eyebrows lie over big brown eyes, and the diminutive nose and mouth of a child. She likewise has the proportions expected of a child, the scrawny stick-limbs of someone who hasn't had several years of physical training to build muscle.
Her wardrobe is consistent with both her appearance and her profession. They look very "ninja-like", with the emphasize on the "like". It couldn't be mistaken for body armor, by any means, consisting of a a white kimono with red lapels, a royal-purple obi tied with a golden string in the shape of a shuriken (or flower, depending on how you look at it), and a pair of black arm and leg stockings. Typical ninja sandals on her feet round her out!
