At six feet and eight inches in height, with a physique which wants not at all to match, this man's stature is quite impressive. He nevertheless carries himself with a certain fluid grace defiant of his proportions. Tan flesh decorated like a tapestry with scars from what were obviously past battles is drawn taut across his heavily muscled body. The pock marks of spears, the long lines of matted tissue from sword strikes. Every wound speaks to a legacy of violence, though he's obviously endured it all. Considering how callused his hands are in very precise spots, odds are he was well involved in retaliation for whatever suffering he endured. The man otherwise keeps himself in good condition, washed and groomed to the best of his ability under ordinary circumstances. His hands might be the only delicate things about him, yet even they appear to be something more, with seals in the form of circles inked in a curved, sharply pronged design gracing the palms.
It's in the face that one can see he isn't all that old. Certainly, adolescence has long since begun to flee his body, for his jaw is strong and his features are hard. A straight nose dominates the center of his countenance, above a pair of straight lips, and as a perch for a pair of black-hued eyes. Unlike the rest of his body, his facial features seem not to have suffered quite as much punishment in the course of his life. An old slice across the eye which spared the organ itself, a nick upon his lower lip. Were it not for these things, he might well rank among the stereotypically handsome. In militaristic fashion, the young man shaves all but the central length of his very dark hair, which is tied off at the back in a long topknot. Only a thin bristle of hair remains anywhere else upon his skull, a mere shadow upon his skin.
His choice of clothing is as telling as his hairstyle with respect to his profession. He wears loose black clothing as a base for his attire, with a long wrap-around tunic tied off by a belt, and a pair of loose black trousers which tuck into high sandals. Overlaid upon vital areas of his body are sections of banded steel grey armor. His chest, abdomen, forearms, shins, back. Everything's granted some protection in those areas without sacrificing maneuverability. A steel grey cloak has been wrapped about his shoulders and left to hang, its surface embroidered in black with the heraldry of the Reizei clan. This conceals much, but at times, one can see two scabbards of varying sizes to either side of the man's hips - and that's just what one can see from that angle. Completing the ensemble is a headband with a metal forehead guard attached, the symbol of the Cloud etched upon it.
