Uchiha Mayu is the only daughter of Uchiha Takako and Uchiha Rokuro, two members of the Konohagakure Police Force who have worked hard to try and move past the feuds which have colored the Clan's past. Mayu has lived in Konoha for almost all her life, and strongly believes in the vision of ninja clans banding together to create a greater, united whole. She can still come across as somewhat cold and arrogant, though - mostly because she's got a very sarcastic tongue for a girl her age and she doesn't hesitate to use it.

Ninja Profile:
Mayu is the daughter of Uchiha Takako and Uchiha Rokuro, two individuals who have displayed an earnest desire to move past the disfunctional nature of the Uchiha Clan and repair relations between the Uchiha and the Senju. Their daughter does not seem to have any particular animosity towards her fellow Leaf Ninja. Unfortunately, she has developed something of a complex regarding villagers (see Addendum 1).

As expected of a Uchiha, Mayu shows a high degree of aptitude in all ninja arts she has been exposed to; taijutsu, where she favors the kunai, ninjutsu, where she has shown great competency in the standard genin skills, and she has expressed a desire to learn genjutsu as soon as possible upon graduating the academy. She is a surprisingly sharp-tongued child, and she displays a methodical and logical approach to her assignments.

Unfortunately, this methodical and logical approach may work against her in the long run. Although she is able to incorporate new information quickly, she tends to presume that the limitations of others are similar to her own limitations - or those she has witnessed in others (e.g, assuming that all Aburame use the same kind of bugs as her classmate). This is something which experience will hopefully cure in her - and should not be taken as a reason to hold her back from Genin rank (although it is a flaw she will need to address before she can be considered for Chuunin-level advancement).

I have worked with Mayu for several years now, and it is my belief that she is ready to become a Genin in technical terms - I can find no logical reason to hold her back any further. She is at the point now where further advancement will necessitate fieldwork and training beyond the classroom environment.

If she continues to maintain the rounded approach to training and does not allow any flaws to develop in her style, it is exciting to think where she could be in ten or twenty years time.

Addendum I
Although Mayu hasn't displayed any truly disturbing psychological signs, I did once hear her mock a villager for his inability to carry a large crate unaided - she called him 'a weak and pathetic burden on his family and the Village'. I rectified this by making her carry the crate for him, which she did without complaint. I hope this was a one-time event and she understands that villagers and ninjas are necessary for the Village to prosper.

Mayu shows a high degree of intelligence for a girl her age - as is expected of the Uchiha Clan. With her superiors, her attitude is usually one of polite obedience, and with her peers, she maintains a similar air of polite detachment. This attitude only tends to break when she sees something she feels is worthy of mocking; then her sarcastic attitude can reveal a bit of a mean streak in her.

Despite this, Mayu believes wholeheartedly in the idea of the Village and of ninja working together. She doesn't find it easy to make friends, but she does believe that ninja complement each other and are made stronger when they work as a team rather than working as families all sharing the same traits.

Mayu does have some difficulties because of her strongly logical mindset. She tends to assume that all ninja, broadly speaking, play by the same rules and are capable of roughly the same things; unique exceptions can throw her off-balance. More worryingly, whilst she accepts fellow ninja without hesitation, and can even be very supportive of her weaker classmates… she does not understand the point of having villagers. She has a strong streak of 'ninja superiority' in her which is a concern.

Appearance

Uchiha Mayu is tall for a girl her age, standing at five and a half feet with a long, dark black ponytail. She may only be twelve years old, but she's growing into a very fine young woman indeed!

She's pale, with a delicate bone structure and dark brown eyes. She wears a forehead protector across her brow, with the leaf mark of Konoha proudly displayed on the front, and the cloth tied together tight behind her skull.

The rest of her outfit is surprisingly elaborate for a genin. She wears a black dress with gold trim, and a fitted, dulled bronze midsection to add protection over her chest and upper body. Her arms are clad in gauntlets, the gloves running all the way up her arms, and her legs in thick brown woolen legwarmers; her feet protected by soft-soled slippers.

I have finally graduated from the academy today.

Mother and Father were proud, of course. I am glad. I do not want to be a disappointment to them, and I feel I have mastered the basic techniques as well as I will be able to in that environment.

And yet, even though this is everything that I had been hoping for, I can't help but feel nervous anyway. From here on out, I will be expected to take on serious duties within the Village. I am not a student any longer. I may not be a high-ranking ninja yet, but it is my responsibility to work hard and keep the Village prospering in these violent and dangerous times.

I must seek out a mentor, I must train harder than I have trained before, and I must not hesitate - I must help my parents show that we have moved beyond the past.
