A wandering writer who has to take up other jobs to keep herself fed. Recently joined Sunagakure as a civilian worker, hoping to expand her knowledge (and her wallet). B-but it's not like she wants to be here or anything, baka! Tsuntsun~
Background
Waffuru is of the Uzumaki Clan. A kunoichi from the Land of Whirlpools, her primary interest is in studying and developing Sealing Techniques, and to write about them. While wars may rage on, she has no interest in any of it except as it impacts her. Even from a young age, it was scholarly pursuits that entranced her, not the endless bloodshed. She does not seek vengeance or justice or to fix the world… She acts solely to advance her own interests, her own understanding, her own enlightenment…
Even her desire to spread her knowledge to others is centered around the concept of gaining renown and influencing others to develop their own Sealing Techniques. She wants them to conduct research that she might never consider on her own, and then learn them in turn. Language, and writing in particular, are how Uzumaki Waffuru puts to paper the laws that she wishes the world to abide by.
Unfortunately, for someone who has only minimal ninja training, sometimes other work not related to her passions must be taken. Serving drinks in costume, handing out advertisement flyers, delivering ramen orders to peope across town… Writers don't tend to make much money until after they become famous. So for now, it's bunnygirl outfits and roof-hopping food deliveries. She recently has accepted a position working in Sunagakure in order to improve her finances and instruction, and mainly handles the aforementioned civilian jobs around the Village.
The Jounin of Sunagakure, Rinako and Ruri Rurohashi, were encountered on Waffuru's travels, and are who directed her to Sunagakure as a place of employment opportunity. Ruri's own sealing techniques were fascinating to Waffuru, and so she has gladly accepted the task of watching over the twins' apartment in Sunagakure, since they mostly operate in the field these days.
Personality
Waffuru has what some might consider an unpleasant personality. She blusters, boats, and bashes, but she is flustered easily, and can be nice if she's given a chance. However, pulling her from her studies is a great way to get on her bad side, and she can't stand painful levels of ignorance. Someone who doesn't know what they're talking about but insists on doing so anyway press her "rage button". Unfortunately for her, when she's "on the job" she can't always afford to show her anger, though if she is pushed enough, the sentiment may come across regardless.
It is possible that, after seeing enough of a world in ruins during her travels, she will wish to change the laws of the world through her writings and seals, to end the killing and hatred. But for now, she would rather not get involved unless she must. Seeking knowledge, for Waffuru, is the noblest of pursuits. Not power, not justice… The darkness that engulfs the world is due to ignorance. And with enough knowledge, perhaps those who murder and covet will also learn the futility and embrace learning as Waffuru has.
It is the written word that pulled her from the darkness as well, and showed her that worlds existed beyond comprehension and measure, if one is only willing to envision them. To provide books and scrolls that others can use to escape the darkness as well, whether in educational or entertaining form, is a way of spreading language and returning to it the gift it gave to Waffuru in turn.
Appearance
Uzumaki Waffuru is a 5'0" tall, red-haired young woman with large, green eyes. Her hair is ridiculously long, easily touching the ground, and actually dragging on it if not subdued through some sort of epic styling maneuver. She is fairly curvy, at least in certain areas, while remaining fit and slender in others. She is proportionally an adult, but very short, making her seem more like a doll than a person. It's not uncommon to see her frowning or looking haughty, but she can be quite the actress about her emotions when she needs to be.
For some reason Waffuru appears to be wearing what is known as a 'bunnygirl outfit'. A black and white-lace maid headband with black and white rabbit ears protruding from it, a black and white lace collar, a lowcut black leotard with lace trim and a cut-out in front, fishnet leggings, black high heels, and a pair of fingerless gloves. And, of course, there's a fluffy white bunny tail around back.
This outfit clashes heavily with her personality, but if pouring drinks in costume's what pays the bill when ninja work is slow, so be it. She only has to PRETEND to be pleasant after all.
One of Waffuru's more common outfits, a flashy kunoichi ensemble in red and white. It's rather abbreviated and doesn't cover a lot, but it also doesn't tend to get in the way. Black tabi on her feet, a red-and-white top with a white tied-belt, and a flap hanging down in front and back for "modesty" are more or less the entirety of the outfit. But Waffuru's ridiculously long red hair is also done up in a huge ponytail long enough to drape on the ground.
Waffuru's "work outfit", librarian clothes that don't quite fit her properly. A dress suit vest, a white button-up shirt that is often not fully buttoned up (due to the heat, definitely), a pair of eyeglasses perched on her nose, a thigh-length skirt, a pair of white socks, and black buckled shoes. it's a fairly simple outfit, and not exactly what most librarians in Sunagakure wear, but it's Waffuru's preferred manner of dress. A life time of dress-up has left her with some habits that are hard to break. Waffuru's ridiculously long red hair is also done up in a huge ponytail long enough to drape on the ground.

Ninja Journal
So there I was, just finished reporting in to Sunagakure for citizenship. I'd gotten it, and I'm already looking for work. BAM. At some point I must have decided it would be a good idea to go back out into the desert, and I'm still not sure why, but I ran out of water. So on my way back, I ran into these two kids. Cute, but clueless. One of them gave me a canteen, but not until after the girl he was with refused!
What a trombone face!
Long story short, I made it back to the Hidden Sand and I'm avoiding the desert for awhile. I owe the boy some candy or something though. Maybe I'll just return his canteen.
