Chitose is known to have been a delivery girl for her parents for as long as she has been able to run. Her mother creates delicious food and her father creates works of art. Both can be ordered and even now the arrival of Chitose often signals the arrival of something delicious or art. She has completed the Suna academy and is a full fledged genin.
Background
Born to a pair of artisans, Amaro Kitane and Yamauchi Akira. Kitane was born a cook, she was very good at it and her meals became quite well known among her clan. Akira was an artist with his hands, able to craft beautiful furniture out of wood or stone and also quite a talent when it came to figurines. They both cared deeply for one another and settled down. They had a child and named her Chitose.
With the founding of Sunagakure, they moved into the village with their families for both protection and so Kitane could be near to her clan. She was never cut out to be a ninja but she loved her family none the less. To help his favorite neice, Amaro Arata offered to help deliver her and her husband's goods to those who ordered them. He had grown tired of the life of a shinobi, now only teaching younger shinobi and of course delivering goods.
As Chitose grew, it became natural for her to join this act. At first, she only delivered to people within the village but soon she was doing deliveries to people outside of Sunagakure. Her great uncle, Arata, offered her a great deal of training in this respect. He didn't want to see this girl harmed while out doing deliveries and taught her many of the ways of the shinobi. Stealth, speed, using kunai against desert animals and even began training her with some basic jutsu.
People around Sunagakure knew that to have Chitose arrive was a sign that food or art had arrived. Something fun or interesting. She was often welcomed with a smile whereever she went. Her own smile becoming a well known symbol of good tidings. None the less, there was a part of her that felt incomplete. A sadness she couldn't place, yet it always seemed more prominent when she saw a true shinobi moving through the village or heading off on a mission.
It didn't bother Chitose too greatly till one day when she was out for a delivery outside of the village. While moving along at a good clip, she spotted a man being attacked by bandits. Hidden behind a rock, she pulled out one of her kunai, staring at it and then at the bandits. The poor man was being beaten to death and she knew she could hit one of the bandits…but didn't. She just shook, scared, watching. Even as she sat there shaking, one of the bandits started to notice her, moving toward her menacingly. She only got more scared till a kunai slammed into the man's side. It wasn't hers.
Shinobi from Sunagakure had been hunting these bandits and luckily they had found them right at this moment. They came in and cleaned the bandits up handily. They weren't even that much older than her. Maybe 4 years older than her 9 years of age. She was struck by how quickly and handily they had dealt with these bandits. She was also saddened by how she had done little about it. It hurt her inside. She told no one. The shinobi never spoke much of it but she smiled brighter at them when she saw them in the village from that day forward.
It haunted her for a while, that moment of inaction. She kept being amazed by the shinboi of Sunagakure. She started bugging her Great Uncle for more and more training. Finally, he helped her approach her parents about this new found interest in the way of the ninja. Her father was none to happy but her mother somewhat understood. After all, her family was a ninja family. Outwardly, she was telling everyone that she wanted to be a ninja cause it always interested her. She didn't want to spend her whole life doing deliveries. Her father gave in reluctantly under the eyes of his daughter, wife and Uncle in Law.
Her time at the academy was well spent. She wasn't that great at Genjutsu, due to lack of fundamental training in it, however, her work with Taijutsu was superb and her Ninjutsu was on par with what one might expect. She graduated easily and smiled proudly went she presented herself to her parents with her new headband on. Even prouder was she to show it off to her Great Uncle.
Her time at the academy had solidified friendships with people she had already known. Many of the kids constantly bugging her to bring in enough of her mom's cooking for everyone. They all knew her to be the delivery girl who brings good food. Even after the academy, she went back to delivering for her mom and dad. Her father, however, grew somewhat distant from her. He'd grow more so, as the days passed.
Life rarely keeps free of speed bumps, however. Her uncle, Arata, had a debt to repay. A debt that would come to call when the shinobi of Sunagakure were able to capture Gyuki. Nearer to the founding of Sunagakure, Amaro Arata's wife died of what was said to be natural causes. No one questioned it, life in the Land of Wind is harsh. The truth of it, however, was much more shameful. His wife had plotted with a couple of other Amaro. They did not agree with their clan about throwing in with Sousa. They put together a plan to quickly deal with Sousa. If he were gone, the Amaro would quit this madness. Sadly, when they were finalizing their plans, Arata overheard. Worse, Kuoroke overheard.
Arata pulled Kuoroke away, pleaded with him to let him deal with is own wife. To let this end quietly to prevent shame to himself, his family and his clan. Kuoroke agreed and went after the other two conspirators while Arata quietly ended the threat from his own wife. Kuoroke may have turned in a report to Sousa…but this all was kept quiet for the good of Sunagakure. 7 years later, this debt to Kuoroke would haunt Arata.
Shinobi from Sunagakure came across Gyuki. The Eight Tails was brought in but a vessel needed to be found for him. Kuoroke knew that Arata had a great neice recently graduated from the academy. One that had little ties to clans, was not someone anyone knew much about and she has shown many reasons to be loyal to Sunagakure. From living there nearly her whole life to being saved by their shinobi, she owned Suna much. Not to mention she had been toughened by years of deliveries across the Land of Wind and early training from Arata.
Preperations were made to have her brought in for the ceremony. She was prepped for it, told that she was doing a great service for Suna. Her mind reeling, she was reassured by her Great Uncle Arata telling her she must. Her parents weren't even informed. The whole ceremony was kept secret and she herself was sworn to secrecy. By the time it had all passed, she was the Jinchuuriki of the Eight Tails. Prepared to be trained even more deeply than even she wanted.
Personality
Chitose's personality is that of one who is generally cheerful. She has spent her life bringing people what they want, and typically she isn't late. She brings a smile with every delivery, a cheerful attitude and giving spirit. She sees herself as offering help to others. She has always wanted to help others. Not being able to can cause her great doubt and melancholy within herself. Her inability to help the man who was attacked by bandits still haunts her. Even after her training, she is still the type who isn't always sure what to do when the answer isn't perfectly clear. She freezes up at times, afraid to fail.
Friendships are something she fights for fiercely. She defends her friends, loving them and trusting them somewhat implicitly. Being constantly greeted with friendship, she hasn't ever faced real betrayal. Which to a degree, has left her with a somewhat odd idea of morals when it comes to cheating.
She tends to enjoy cooking and even likes to work with wood some, just due to influences from her parents. She appreciates art and food, finding a great deal of joy in finding new art or food to try to understand or try to enjoy, respectively. Outside of all that, though, she does sometimes just enjoy finding a nice spot off by herself and listen to the sounds of nature. Her time spent off doing deliveries to areas outside of Sunagakure have been her most fun times enjoying solitude or just being with her Uncle listening to silence.
Her Uncle taught her a lot about what it means to be a shinobi and how important it is to finish her missions. As such, she is often seen doing underhanded things if it means the completion of a mission. While she'd never harm a friend or a fellow shinobi, she'll break rules if it means victory.
Appearance
This girl has her black hair tied up in a pony tail atop her head, hair that flips down to her middle back. The rest of her hair is hidden under a beige bandana which the pony tail comes out of, all of it except for a few slips of bangs that hang over her forehead protector, one that marks her as of Sunagakure. Her eyes are almond colored, with thin eye brows over the top of them. Her button nose sits over a small mouth with lips just beginning to blossom wider. Her neck leads down to a beige top that covers her torso but leaves her arms completely bare with occasional peeks at her under arms due to the a slightly lower cut to the sleeveless arm holes.
Her gi like top is tied in the middle by a dirty grey belt that leads down to a pair of loose gi like pants with cuts on either side at her hips, cut up to her belt and down to mid thigh on the sides. Her feet are covered in wraps that act as the only type of coverings for them, going over her ankle and down over the bottom and tops of her feet. Her wrists are wrapped as well with a further brace around her wrist that leads to leather that goes over her knuckels and wraps around the palm of her hands.

Ninja Journal
It happened at night. I don't even know if it was just a dream or not. I know it is inside of me. I didn't know for sure what it was. I was told but that doesn't mean anything. While I slept though, it spoke to me. It was angry. A giant creature, with a bull's head. Locked up inside a cage of rock. It's arms locked out, each of its tentacles locked into a bundle. Its head leaning forward. The creature was enraged. It screamed out at the world in which it was trapped.
After a few minutes, it stopped raging. I was just staring at it. At first I was taken aback, startled even. However, I saw it was trapped. Unable to move so I examined it, watched it rage. Just stared into it. It stared back at me. After a long time of staring into each other, as if searching for something more, it said but one word. "Child." And then it made a dismissive type of noise and I awoke.
Was it all just some strange dream? Strangely, I seemed to know more about myself than I had before. A jutsu in which I could bend my arms in odd ways. I think I know what I must do.
I don't get it. I had another dream and when I arrived it saw me and raged out again. It pressed against its bonds and they seemed to shudder against its strength. It spat at me. It stared into me again. It spoke again. "I see the fear," it all but yelled at me. For the first time I was startled. I felt a pang of something as it stared into me. It then said, "You are still that hiding girl!"
It knew me. I turned away from it and stepped a few steps away. It knew things about me that I didn't tell it. Was it a part of me? Could it see my thoughts? After some thought, I turned back to look up at it, staring at it with the same impassive face I stared at it with the first time. I then smiled and pointed, "And you are a trapped beast." And then it roared out in rage and I turned away. I looked back over my shoulder at its tentacles. I smiled as I did and then pointed at my arms.
Focusing on the thing and then at my arm, my arm bent slightly at a point that wasn't my elbow. I grinned as I looked back into it and it raged again. This time, however, I felt its rage well up in me. The rocks around it shudder again, pebbles shaking loose.
I woke up.
I am sure they aren't just dreams now. It wants to see me. It always looks so angry when I arrive and it wants free. It wants to come out through me, I think. It wants me to see it and it wants to see me. This time, however, when I arrived before it. I focused and took a seat before it. I stared at it hard. I stared deeply into the creature, watching it and watching its eyes.
It stared at me back. It seemed intrigued by my way and then I smiled when I stared it. I realized something and it tilted its head down, grinning back at me… if one can call that a grin. I wasn't just a prison and it wasn't just a beast. I know it. Then I stood up and walked toward, but when I got close it went wild again, its prison shaking once more as its arm tried to get near to me, to grab me. I backed off, and this time I raged back, screaming at it, clenching my fists and screaming at it.
It screamed back and for a while…we both just screamed. After a while, we both breathed heavily, staring back and forth at one another when suddenly I was shaken awoke by a very concerned mother who was wondering why I was screaming in the night, my body covered in sweat and my body feeling as if my chakra had been drained.
What does this all mean?
