A mysterious woman possessing a strange form of Ninjutsu requiring no hand seals. She wanders from country to country, performing missions for an unknown benefactor. She doesn't appear to carry any money or personal possessions, aside from a vast collection of dresses, and books.

Following her impressive showing during the Steel Soul Tournament in Kirigakure, there are rumors that she is in fact, not human… but some sort of 'monster'. Lately, Shiryou has been seen in the company of several others who travel with her from time to time.

Shiryou's first notable appearance was within the Land of Rivers, where she was introduced into Hanpa by Soubi. While she hasn't done much with the group itself, she hasn't betrayed them to their enemies either, and on occasion can be found with one member of Hanpa or another.

Appearance

Standing at a striking 6'1", Shiryou is a tall, slim, statuesque woman. Her hair, silvery white, falls down to her hips in straight, silvery cascades. It spills over her shoulders and down her back, and seems particularly well cared for, without a single knot or snag, nor a single hair out of place. Her bangs are swept aside, out of the way of her eyes, a deep, dark blue color, surrounded by silvery white lashes, and porcelain pale, nearly luminescent skin. Her face is flawless, with a small, sharp nose, high cheekbones, and a pair of pale pink, full lips.

Shiryou's neck is long and elegant, her skin pulled tight over tendon and muscle, before disappearing within the high, ruffled silk collar of a black dress. Shiryou's neckline dips low, displaying a valley of pale white cleavage, and hugging her breasts firmly. The dress sweeps over Shiryou's shoulders and down her slender arms. Her sleeves flare out a little around her wrists, displaying slim hands and long, slender, almost delicate fingers, devoid of any jewelry.

A black leather corset lies cinched tightly around Shiryou's waist, pinching in her waist to an almost unnatural slimness. Her hips flare out from the underside of the corset, and with them, the black silk train of her dress flares out to cover her hips, thighs, and nearly drags on the ground, resting so close to the ground itself that even when walking, Shiryou's feet cannot be seen.

Yamanaka Maiko	Ally	A young merchant girl often seen in Shiryou's company. Sickly, and often requiring outside assistance, which Shiryou is willing to provide. Her similarity to Shiryou in appearance is uncanny.

+ Show Joined Hanpa

After several years of having not seen her, I came across Narusegawa near the Land of Rivers… She had taken on the name Soubi, but it was impossible for her to hide her identity from me for very long — not that she tried of course. She introduced me to the group Hanpa, and asked if I would join…

We spoke for a time, and I agreed to join… Though truly, my loyalty is not to Hanpa so much as it is to Narusegawa. I'll follow her example. As long as she doesn't betray them, I will not either. If ever they are at odds however, I cannot say that I wouldn't follow Naru.

There was a brief moment where I thought that there was… something else, in the way she watched me. But perhaps I am overthinking things… maybe even being too optimistic.

+ Show Steel Soul Tournament

So a tournament has been announced in Kirigakure… I have some things to do in the Land of Fire… but I've decided to put them off for a bit, to take part. It may ease some of my boredom to involve myself in a friendly collection of fights. Win or lose, when I'm done, I'll return to my job in the Land of Fire, hopefully with some idea of how to pull off accomplishing my mission there.

Two fights for the first round. A unique way of doing things, but not unwelcome. My first match was against a pretty young woman… Or at least I had thought so at first. Though she was a bit… unstable. Multiple personalities, each with distinct effects on her fighting ability. She wasn't a particularly skilled fighter in the end though…

The second fight was a bit more interesting… A clan head from Iwagakure, come to represent his village. The fight was close for a moment… but in the end, he had been bluffing about his skills, making my caution seem silly. He fell easily enough, and I almost felt pity for him… but it was his own fault that he wouldn't surrender.

Today I learned something about myself… Apparently, I am a monster. That was what my opponent called me during our fight. A monster. An inhuman beast. Perhaps he's right… I've never considered myself an unnatural being, but thinking back on the fight… Perhaps I am. He cut me, and I did not bleed. He poisoned me, and I expelled the vile substance from my body effortlessly. In the end, he gave up, unwilling to continue fighting… He did well though. He had several tricks that I hadn't expected.

I spoke with Iga Ryouji today. We discussed Naru, and my future plans… He offered to come with me back to the Land of Fire when we're ready to go, to help deal with my mission. Hopefully he will provide another way to look at the issue at hand. If not, he can certainly assist in threatening my target… He has more experience in these matters than I do, I'm sure.

+ Show Meeting Maiko

I met a young woman in Kirigakure… She had wandered outside, and was caught in the rain… I helped her locate the local inn, and secure a room. We spoke for a bit, and I learned that she was a merchant… I enlisted her help in my mission in the Land of Fire. Her expertise will make the mission much easier, and we may not need to resort to threats in the end. If she proves useful, perhaps I can convince her to come with me to the Land of Wind afterwards… I plan to collect quite a few new things for her to sell. Right after I deprive their former owners of them.

A swordsman from Kumogakure. That's who my opponent was today. Little more than a child… and a child who refused to give up until the very end. Truly, I'm impressed… while he was fighting a losing battle, he kept going even when he was beaten, bruised, and exhausted… In the end, I let him wind himself down. Nobody can keep up the speed that he was exhibiting without exhausting themselves… Stalling tactics were useful, and he eventually collapsed from exhaustion after succumbing to a few of my screams.

I lost. It was unfortunate, to be sure… but perhaps it was for the best, that a Kirigakure shinobi won so flawlessly in the finals of the tournament. It takes the focus off of me and makes my leaving the village that much easier, without celebrations or crowds of fans. I wish the blood user I fought well, she did very well in the tournament in the end.

In the next few days, me and Ayumu will be leaving for the Land of Fire, hopefully with Maiko in tow. We should arrive in the Land of Fire within a week, then it will just be a matter of locating the target and coming up with a plan of action.
