Summary:
A kiri genin stumbles upon the enemy in the land of waves. A fight ensues, looking oddly resembling of the situation with the war as a whole, and results in both sides retreating, though one does so with the promise of reinforcements.
"Confrontations"
Land of Waves - Forested Area
Meruin rushed through the boughs of the trees, his hair whipping behind him as he did so. Many others would find this day to be a pleasurable one, if they could unwind enough to enjoy it. The day was bright, warm, and cheerful in both sound and sight. The land of waves was generous this day. The seven year old looked about himself as he moved, though it was only for precautionary measures. He had places to be…
The young masked genin is on watch duty, to either capture, injure or deal with opposing shinobi. takeda is currently high in a tree watching, his orders deal with those who come into his area..Somewhere not far away is a higher-ranked Kumogakure nin, watching over Takeda
Meruin made a large leap, soaring over and between many branches before landing lightly on one further away. He rises in a single supple motion, his expression suffusing with a calm coldness as he slowly brings his gaze skywards, seeming to search for something. It was a lucky things — A small creaking of a branch out of sync with nature's natural sway. It brought Takeda's position to Meruin's attention and he looked, readying himself as he hid and began to draw chakra into his body both. Hopefully, this would be a quick finish.
Oh shit thought he had saw something, guess his nerves was just a bit on edge, for now the masked genin continues to watch, hiding up in the tree. (Takeda)
Meanwhile Hoiishime, had been part of the same watch, as designated according to order for all available mednin to be assigned to a localized platoon or unit with every assignment. Now he had been very much in charge of healing the squad but as a ninja had been also charged to a duty as a guard. He would do this with his own self being hidden in plain sight, with a Henge as a supply barrel. His own goal had been to either injure, defend or subdue, but not kill, his own moral fiber, as a representative of the Jinrai Shrine, being full well part of this.
He would not have been to keen on thr feeling he got within moments as it seemed that someone else had been around. He would see Takeda, and then something else that he would only feel a threat. It was fast, whatever it was. "Hoo there!!! Ya be coming out now, or ya be finding of those using extreme force!!" A threat pure and simple and if Meruin had not been smart enough, Hoiishime would have no choice but to face him.
Meruin's eyes flickered over towards where Hoiishime's voice could be heard, head staying still so as to avoid giving away his position with sudden movements. Another Kumogakure ninja, it would seem, and he had not placed himself in a spot hiding him completely from view from this one. Another few moments of searching and he could like tell where Meruin was. Just like that, his chances of making a swift kill and continuing on his way dropped by an annoying amount. Swiftly, the silk of his sleeves unraveled with a softly hissing sigh. It flung shuriken from beneath towards Takeda's back and at Hoiishime. Both were aimed towards deadly spots — Hopefully, his aim would be true.
Perhaps it was the whistle of it thru the tress, however at the last second, Takeda marginally avoids the shuriken, and begins looking in the direction it came from, having heard hoiishime's voice, he leaps off his branch flickering as it were towards the direction the shuriken might have come from..
Seeming to slide, and weave, balls of his feet gracefully skating across the ground without not even a single bit of movement, Hoiishime would avoid the shuriken, and sigh, making a sharp break for where the Kiri nin had shot from. Looks like this was not going to fair well. Violence. Ugh. Hoiishime would then seem to vanish for a small while before all of a sudden, Meruin, would see the monk, tam cap and all, right in his face, and beneath his guard, shoulder charging him in the side, all before the Kiri nin's arm would be grabbed, and in a hard pull over his shoulder, Hoiishime would grunt, and toss the Kiri nin, right towards the Yamayuki best friend of himself, shouting, "Now mon!! Do eet!!"
Meruin stood still as stone when Hoiishime appeared in front of him, seeming uncaring on the outside but truly startled and shaken behind that mask of his. Only the steadiness taught by surgeon's ilk kept his movements controlled, and in this case, non-existant. Because of this, he was unprepared for the grappler's attacks, the shoulder charge clipping him despite his effort to evade it. Because of how small he was, even that bit was enough to make him stumble and he moved away from Hoiishime sensing the next grab coming. His arm was grasped firmly at the wrist and he took a quick, silent and calming breath as he began to be flung. Clear of mind, he instructed his body and it responded. As he was thrown, he lurched forward, flipping him even as he began to move so that he struck Hoiishime's elbow with the heel of his foot.
It was very little in terms of damage — Not enough momentum, as the grappler was adept in his throws and again, Meruin's compact size led to him being thrown Takeda's way regardless. Not the position he wanted to be in, if the genin had felt the need to come his way regardless. So, he flew the Yotsuki's way, actually upside down from being tossed. shuriken burst from his chest in a flailing of silk to strike at Takeda and his back to surprise Hoiishime.
Some droplets of blood show, from the two sharp things that have pierced Takeda very deeply. Despite having heard hoiishime's, and his display of grappling on the other nin, the other guy was still fast enough, to fling out some stuff, and injure him a bit
Time to get nasty, as he moves to strike at the other nin first with two open-palm strikes, then the last attack into fist, trying to disable him quickly
"Takeda!!", would be screamed by the dreadlock monk, as he would see the flourish of throws produced by the Kiri ninja. Man.. this little guy was dangerous. Hoiishime, right after the scream, would seem to perform the same graceful movments, twirling and swaying between the throw, moving almost in a straight line, before he would then slide into a lower stand, right behind the Okumo, before saying, "You be movin along…now!!" before he would shoulder charge into the boy's back, pushing him upward, before bear hugging him from behind, and crabbing backward…into a harsh backward throw.
This would have only meerly served a way for Hoiishime indeed to get near Takeda, who had been hit twice. He would be only meerly trying to get to his friend to heal him, for after his attacks, whether he had been succeeded in his offense or not, he would say, "Touch me shoulder, mon and you be feelin good in no time." hands ready with an unknown seal but nothing happening yet.
Giving a mental grimace, the seven year old managed to twist out of the way of the first blurring open palm, though it was something of a close call. He twisted the other way to avoid the second, though this time he continued to motion, whipping out with his hand so that even as Takeda tried to punch him again, Meruin's fist crashed into his chin, sending him away.
He moved away from the shoulder charge by rolling around it, landing on the ground with a backwards roll. 'He's quick…' he thought to himself as Hoiishime persisted. He thrust his arms out, crossing them as he put his back to the grappler, to keep them from closing on him. Webbing on his back flicked out towards the monk before he spun around once more, whirling to set on the ninja with swift taloned hands. And again, the silk on his back flung shuriken in Takeda's direction, not forgetting about the Yotsuki. However, he deemed Hoiishime to be the bigger threat as the moment, and from he'd seen so far, his weak point was his offense, and that was where he'd try to hit home…
The movements, have Takeda impressed, even when he is smashed in the face.. Still this guy is extremely tough and after hoisshime now, so he moves to try and deflect a blow, then attack him, with a fist of sound
But just before Takeda even moves, Hoiishime, who had defensively positioned himself in front of the sound ninja, would be seen with an unusual handseal, his own arms, even beneath the full shroud of bandaging, would began to glow gold. The glow would move from his fingers in the seal, which had been in the form of fingers clasps to thumbs, and then the tops of the hand, pushed against each other, and when the glow had ended at the shoulders, a bright flash would spark from Hoiishime. Takeda, who would have touched the monk nin, would feel his own chakra accelerate, causing the wounds he sustained, to began to steam, and then mend, bring him back to newness.
All of this would happened, before the webbing, as well as the taloned attacks, which had been shot at Hoiishime, would have been evaded by a quick formation change by the two. Hoiishime, now following Takeda's lead as he would attack Meruin with his sonic strike, first, jab two fingers into the Okumo boy's thigh and leg, and after flipping into the air, try an attempt at landing upon the Kiri nin in a Flying Cross Body style maneuver.

Meruin tried to dodge to the side of the blurring attack, this one vibrating faster and more noticably than the last. 'Speed…' was his thought as Takeda rushed at him. When he was thrust in the chest, a strangled grunt was pulled from his lips and some small measure of agony tore through him. He stood on uneasy legs, his mind blank as sound ran rampant through his insides, both damaging and pausing him. He began to recover, however…
Not relenting in his attack,a more physical attack, towards his legs,to trip him, which would assist Hoiishime's grapples against him,at the same time Takeda focuses a bit, to regain more energy, fighting this guy has been too much.. A nod to hoiishime for his healing abilities..
Meanwhile Hoiishime, now following Takeda's lead as he would attack Meruin with his sonic strike, would first, jab two fingers into the Okumo boy's thigh and leg, and after flipping into the air, try an attempt at landing upon the Kiri nin in a Flying Cross Body style maneuver. This battle seemed to be turning in tide for Kumo, seeming weirdly to be only a genin level version of what had been the entire situation of the war. A Kiri ninja, farely skilled, and powerful, versus more than one Kumo nin, though fairly in experienced, still amounting up to the team work, and diligence that could overwhelm even the most skilled ninja.
Meruin staggered backwards from the blow given him by Takeda, his senses returning to him a tad. Yet and still, he was still too dazed to move when he saw Hoiishime's blows coming. His mind was one thing that he had not been prepared to lose touch with — not in this fight. He began to get his wits about him now… Another blow, and now an attempted dodge, but this time Hoiishime only managed to clip him.
The seven year old saw the next attack coming, and set himself up for it. He spun, aiming to make the blow catch him on the left shoulder and help push him around and aid him in a counter attack. With the way his limbs were being, he needed the help. But his timing was off, and he only managed to give himself a bruise on his back. He made a small leap away from the other two, breathing slightly heavily and he'd just realized that that bruise he'd taken on his back was only one of many and that this sudden barrage had been severely detrimental to his status.
"Very well…" said the Okumo nin with the first words he'd said all battle. The first words he'd said in many a battle, actually. He was starting to tire and it was lowering his concentration. Poison glistens the black talons covering his nails and he takes a steadying breath before firing forward, slashing once at both of them and truly desiring this attack the best of luck.
Needing to avoid that attack was critical, as the opposing nin was trying to leave,Takeda was flickering morein his direction,as he wasn't about to let this guy get away,as he was way too tough, so a kick to try and sweep his legs from up under him, followed by a strike to his lungs
Hoiishime was not as quick as Takeda, this being a reason for the lot of the spars they had being won by the Yamyuki nin instead of himself. He had been slower, but stronger, often his body being 6 times stronger than many he had faced in the pass. These things went through his mind as the poison, which seemed to work in his system quickly, would cause him the feeling of fading, the simple nature of this poison causing his muscles to loose all intensity, and making him feel gone…
Hoiishime's mind, still was intact despite all of this, the meditation he had practiced as a monk causing his heart to slow down, in response to the spread of the poison, helping to move slightly out of range of the fight just moments before he would feel limpness take over. "Takeda… get em…mon.." being mouthed slowly and softly.
"Mm…" Meruin front flipped low to the ground, evading the sweeping kick by being airborn. "Here's my chance," he said aloud, although he immediately bit his lip for doing so, and then ceased to do even that, chastising himself for losing control like that. He continued through the air and extended a leg out so that it crashed onto Takeda's knee as he landed, sitting on his other heel, both hands extended upwards and to the side. As the punch came in, he drew his arms in and swirled, throwing his fist out in his liquid motion to crash against Takeda's jaw. He had surprised the seven year old with the speed he displayed.
But now wasn't the time to begin admiring or praising his enemies. As Kumo nin, they were on his hit list if he could kill them, and his evasion list if he could not. He was hoping that he had not mixed the two up. In any case, he flung his arms outwards, seeking to take thorough advantage of hoiishime's current position. Strands of silk shot form his arms and hands, damp with a caustic poison. He twirled, lashed, and whipped, hoping to land a hit and have the copious webbing wrap around both ninja, prolonging and extending their burns.
Using ninjutsu,to avoid the attacks of the Kiri-nin,Takeda,hops backwards, and grabs Hoiishime, deflecting all attacks against the monk.. for him nothing is more important, than those on his team..The masked genin isn't one for talking at all, despite the blood-loss and wounds he has suffered. Though he doesn't appear strong, he is a lot stronger than he lets on,so getting the monk to safety is his only concern.
Poor Hoiishime had been slipping fast, his own health seeming to fade but not kill him, as his chocolate skin would pale alittle. The boy was a ragg doll, who was being handled with care by a friend in the midst of another turning of the tide. If Takeda would last longer, just perhaps the poison in Hoiishime system would work its way through, but for now the monk was helpless. Prayers were to Takeda indeed.
Meruin was not at all pleased that all of his attacks were deflected, but they had served their main purpose. Both of his foes were in the throes of fatigue, and now he simply needed to outlast them — Takeda is going to try to take them away. This was nowhere in Meruin's plan; far too many of those he'd set himself on hadn't gotten away alive. Granted, he had far more successes than failures, but he was used to a nearly spotless record. Active war had caught him unprepared.
He shook this thoughts from his mind and clenched his fists quickly and tightly before easing them, keeping the muscles in his arms loose. Sudden and swift, spiders swept from his body towards the two Kumogakure ninja in the form of a writhing darkness. They sought to chew and tear and hinder, moving ahead of Meruin even as he ran behind them. He was breathing heavily and was that sweat dripping into his eyes? He was hoping to avoid tiring himself out too quickly. Shuriken flew from him, thrown by the silk of his clothing; silk that he grabbed with an arm and slung at Takeda, hoping to ensnare him in its sticking grasp.
Barely able to sustain, what he is doing Takeda, still carries the monk, now heading towards the more senior members that are also here. A whistle is made, to alert them to an incoming threat.. though the masked genin isn't moving as fast as he was earlier, but at least diverts most of the attacks away from the stunned monk..
With the throw seeming to connect, Hoiishime would seem to wake up just in time to see that his friend had been exhausted, and other than the poison he had now been infected with, and the stab wound, he himself had been okay. He would look to Meruin, with a stare that seemed far from what had been the obvious frustrations of the day, and when he had been standing up fully, he would then form the familiar seal of fingers clasps to thumbs, and then the tops of the hand, pushed against each other, and when the glow had moved up to his shoulders, a bright flash would spark from Hoiishime before his body would then began to glow all over.
Hoiishime would then say to the Kiri nin, "Look brudda. Ya be fighting us and all, and though at dis point, we be enemies, I and me friend here, and I am sure even yourself, probably can say that this fight has been extremely enjoyable." Hoiishime would manage a smile, though the fatigue in his body had been a might bit apparrant. He would sigh and say, "However, I be sure dat you be not wanting to drag this on any longer than you can last. Your stamina, no matter how impeccable, and excellent, den took a beatin, as well as me and Takeda's.
Hoiishime would then say, "Just leave… dis be a long war, and though I be sure ya be wantin our heads, at dis point, fighting any more would be a waste." Hoiishime would then smile and say, "Its a big battle field. I be sure dat you be seein us again so if I be you, I be gettin strong. Cause da next time you see us, I be sure we be a might bit entertaining." All of a sudden, it would seem that Takeda's whistle had gotten through to some more Kumo ninja who had been heading there way. "Go, mon… survive and fight me again. I be waitin soon."
Meruin stared at Hoiishime with placid eyes, his face around them beaded with sweat. He said nothing, his demeanor as implacable as falling snow. Fight later? After the war is over, there would be no reason for Meruin to have an encounter like that with any other Kumo nin. But, he did have one response. Shuriken suddenly flicked into his right hand, which he raised. He spun two full rotations before launching them at the two and using the rest of the motion to propel him away from them, fleeing form the scene. With him as tired as he is and the pursuit that is soon to come, momentum and efficiency will make a large difference…
