"Third Promotion Exams - Duty & Revenge: Hibiki vs. Fudo"
Forest of Death - Outside the Tower
Having been teamed up against by five genin, drained of nearly all of his resources and essentially left for dead, Fudo had found a way to survive in the most extreme way fueled by one ambition: Revenge. He was betrayed and taken advantage of by those he considered t obe friends, comrades, allies even in this exam… as well as one whom had called him brother. But now he was recovered, and he was on the war path. He would no longer hold any quarter for those who betrayed him. Not a single ounce.
He swiftly moved through the jungle like forest, keeping the high ground and cover of the branches as both his path and his initial stealth as he searched for them all. His crimson gaze smoldered deeply with the darkness that began to consume him.
It would seem to be, amongst the rolling waves of darkness cast through the deathly forest, swallowing away whatever hope existed in furtive spurts of light splashing through the tree line, that Hibiki was to set himself failed. He sits amongst the thick branches of one of the trees surrounding the tower, staring sleeplessly at the rising masonry and it's locked entrances. A scroll is held in his palm, the youth slowly rolling the thing back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, forth and back, staring still at the tower.
"No, no, this is a fine plan. We just need to be lucky is all. They'll come, they'll come."
It's not entirely obvious - or at all, for that matter - to whom the boy is speaking, but he seems to be speaking to someone nonetheless. It is by his distraction, however, that he does not hear the ravaging, revengeful steps of Fudo in the undergrowth.
The sharingan allowed for the Uchiha to see chakra far easier at night, as well as subtle movement, making him a bit more capable of being a predator even in the darkness. He would eventually have made his way towards the tower to see if any of them were setting up ambush there, or even waiting it out, when he would detect someone ahead, and what looked to be a scroll they were fiddling with. Gritting his teeth, Fudo's gaze would narrow as kunai were sent ahead of himself, streaking through the darkness with black steel glinting just barely in the moonlight as he himself sailed towards the target with a sharp side kick.

It is perhaps in the silence that accompanies the desire of death that Hibiki hears the sharp whistle of kunai speeding towards him; or perhaps he himself is not paying attention at all — perhaps it is Hibiki who notices the tranquility of pain, for erupting from the Genin's side come two arms, covering the intended spot of impact, glancing the kunai aside for it to go churning away into the distance. There is no cognizance of the succeeding attack, however, a slow dodge too late, leaving the boy open to be kicked from his branch and onto the ground. Thud, goes the sound.
And yet up comes Hibiki smiling, his own free hands brushing dirt from his cloak, the other appendages having disappeared.
"I told you. Oh, yes, I know I should be careful. Shush, shush."
The boy's neck twitches, his shoulder shuttering, but then he rolls himself out smooth, a vigor brightening his eyes in the thick, underground dark. The scroll strains within the youth's fingers. His voice comes louder now.
"I suppose you want the same as us."
And tucked away becomes the scroll, coming forth anew in the youth's hands a pair of kunai, so casually flung at Fudo, yet how swiftly they unburden the sky, passing through as almost the wind itself.

"Likely." Fudo would say back to Hibiki, whom he would remember just a bit, but not very familiarly. Another kunai was produced as two were thrown at him, and he would swat one of the kunai out of the way, jsut as he'd let slip the blade to throw at Hibiki in one smooth motion. However, his movement didn't allow him the proper footing to quickly manuver out of the way of the second kunai, earning him a scrap along his cheek as his eyes focused in on Hibiki.
Fudo would suddenly have a crushing aura of power that would be felt down to the bone. His chakra and sheer visage would seem to quake the area with unlimited potential as he stared down Hibiki and would say, "Give up now… I have no reason to harm you, but I will.", as the sheer gravity of his power would sap the will and the energy from Hibiki, almost as if he snuffed it out. At least, if he succeeded it would.

It would seem that the darkness is no ally of Hibiki, for against his own throw, a kunai comes forward, gashing him along the arm, brightening his robe in the night with quills of spilt blood. A hand - so far before tucked within the coat - comes out to grasp the wound, the top-side of the youth's massive garment flopping off his shoulders, to hang around his waist. Blood brings droplets rolling from between the boy's fingers. He is thus unawares as Fudo's intangible power is flexed the world around, bearing down like a vacuum to usurp courage and vigor from the lad.
He is left panting after the ordeal, cast now on one knee, blood freely flowing from his arm — but a passable wound, it seems. Hibiki stands, but he feels worn, buckled with the effort. The youth pushes his hands forward, flexing his fingers, and from his sides come two additional arms, identical to the first pair. And then a head - too identical - protrudes from his neck. Both pairs of hands flash together with hand seals, and then - from each mouth, respectively - a ball of water and a bullet of wind are shot towards Fudo, assailing the night with the fervor of blood and the potential of Fate and her friend Doom.

It seemed that his warning was not heeded, and that Fudo's opponent was wanting to fight on any how. The dual attack of wind and water would fly at Fudo in the night, his body reacting by twisting out of the way of one sharply, crouching as the other came straight at him. It looked as if he was hit dead on, but that imagery faded as a small wound would show up on his shoulder instead as he would scowl. "I don't have time for this…" Fudo stated as his eyes would glow a vibrant crimson suddenly and he clasped his hands together, gathering chakra as he stared down Hibiki. "You were warned."

It was there, in the swirling transformation that clouded the way for a minute moment before erupting - at least to the boy's own - that he saw, into the triple tomoe of the Sharingan; into the Uchiha. Hibiki's face draws slack as Fudo's eyes glow crimson and black. The boy has never before seen such a thing, only heard of it; that such actually existed, and here, at such a moment, such a time: a cardinal in the midnight snow. The boy's additional appendages have not retracted, nor the head, and all are motionless, until: laughter. Not enough a slow bubble of laughter, but the volcanic explosion of the mad, of insanity clamping jaws over head like wolves to babes. The youth seems lost in it a moment, but it does recede.
"Yes, yes, yes, we have been warned, we have been warned. However, you are - as I see in your sight now - of Kon-o-ha."
The last word is said so separated, so intentional. The mouth of the other head moves.
"And I am not sure you have it to take."
And with force, the extra pair of hands smash together rapidly, forming hand seals… but nothing comes after save for twisting sound of wind around. Then they mash together again, and again there is silence, save for now the sharp rasp of invisible sabres.

Fudo is able to see everything… and is still unable to avoid the attacks that come at him. He was slipping… he was getting sloppy. He was allowing this person to defeat him because he was in a rush. That simply would not do. His body was torn up quite a bit, reminding him of Katsurou's treacherous whirlwind of ice, and Fudo's eyes would widen as he was blasted back against a tree. He would fall to his feet, haggered and tired, shaking slightly as his gaze would turn from crimson… to a nightmarish purple color.
An aura of purple flames would dance across his flesh for a moment before he would suddenly be hurled in to action as if he was possessed. His body flying high in to the air as a storm of fire balls would blast down towards Hibiki, shuriken slipped in to mix with rapid working of the hands as he went on a full on assault.

Before Fudo had even a chance to respond, for immediately after his own attacks, Hibiki is fatigued. His breath is labored, his chest roaring with each gasp of air taken. The boy is clearly worn, clealy tired, and it will be a wonder if he survives this encounter, let alone his remaining time in the Forest of Death. It is a wonder even then that his hands find the strength, the mouth the wherewithal to release the necessary water to build a wall afore the raging balls of fire, extinguishing them in the stream. But behind - or within, as it be - come shuriken, entangling the youth, slapping pointed stars into his skin as he drops to the ground, unable to move for the wires tight across his body. And yet… and yet, from his perch upon the forest floor, Hibiki grins, amongst the mashed dust against his cheek and the boiling fatigue in his chest. He is still four arms and two heads, and one of the heads speaks:
"Now it is Kon-o-ha. We see if you meant your warning."
COMBAT: Hibiki finishes his turn.
COMBAT: It is now Fudo's turn.
The strange, malevolent chakra that seemed to eminate from him like a cold fire would slowly die down as his gaze would remain that strange dark amethyst. "Unlike the others… I mean what I say." he would state darkly before bringing the razor wire to his lips and exaling the legendary flames of a dragon, bathing Hibiki in it without a second thought as he would grunt and growl, drawing his sword suddenly in a diagonal slash when the flames were done, but appearing to be several yards behind Hibiki. Was Fudo truly that fast? And had his strike rang true?

Even as the spitfire rage carves it's way towards Hibiki, the grin never leaves neither of the mouths. It is perhaps unknown whether Hibiki and Hibiki are aware that they could retract themselves to loosen the cord so tightly wrapped; that they could have escaped the onslaught of fire and sword. It is unknown. But what isn't is the flames tickle first, then cackle, then burn, then scream, yet how quickly it fades in the drawing slash of Fudo's blade, the rent of the air and the sick sweet slash of flesh quieting the night.
Hibiki is not dead, per say. His body lingers, his consciousness a dream of black forest leaves and stars which seem so bright, so bright in the oozy, fading night. Hibiki is not dead. But he will certainly die this way if left. By duty. But of duty to whom? Kiri? The Onkyou? Or of duty to Death herself?
COMBAT: Hibiki finishes his turn.
COMBAT: It is now Fudo's turn.
Fudo would pant heavily, his sword still drawn out to the side from the slash before his arm dropped, still clutching the blade. He looked behind himself, mostly to make sure his enemy was not going to attack him. And that seemed to be the case as Fudo would wobble a bit. He still hadn't fully recovered from his betrayal, and now he was in worse shape due to finding the only opponent in this entire forest that's been able to harm him without him already entirely weary from another battle. Whether it was due to him being off his game or not didn't matter… he still had to deal with the wounds some how.
Resheathing his blade, Fudo would turn to face the strange amalgamation of body parts that was Hibiki. He moved over towards him, wincing a bit and closing an eye. He would keep an eye on his chakra, just to make sure there were no tricks. He could see that he was still alive, though barely so. Now Fudo had to decide… to leave him and take cover, try to find help for himself, carrying Hibiki to the protors to be treated and removed from the competition, or taking a chance that Fudo still had help out in this forest that he could have attend to Hibiki too. Fudo would say clearly to the boy whom may not be able to respond, "One of you, answer me. Do you want to take a very slim chance of surviving to fight on in this payback forest… or do you want to make sure you live through the night?" He would ask of him now, though Fudo also would look for his scrolls, having earned them again and not willing to let anyone steal it from him this time.
COMBAT: Fudo finishes his turn.
COMBAT: It is now Hibiki's turn.
What words crush the quiet of the forest, Hibiki does not know. He is aware of the rummaging amongst his things, and of the procurement of his scroll from within the folds of his robe. A spit of blood rolls from Hibiki's first mouth, and he spits it into the dust. The other Hibiki slowly - as if unawares of its own doing - retracts, and a splash of vigor seems to return to the youth, the coiled wires now slack in the absence of an additional self. Hibiki's eyes flicker, intermittently, and even in the grim light the Uchiha's eyes burn. The youth's voice is gravelly, and mush.
"We will kill you if we can."
No more said, and the boy's eyes close.
COMBAT: Hibiki finishes his turn.
COMBAT: It is now Fudo's turn.
"You and everything else in this forest…" Fudo would mumble lowly to himself. OF course he could kill the boy and be done with it, but Fudo admired strength and honesty. He was far more impressed with him stating his intentions while face down in the dirt bleeding to death as well done offerings to the beasts of the night than the pretentious posterings nad lies of those who would call him friend, ally, and 'brother' at the drop of a hat. Fudo would seem to groan to himself before lifting the multi-boy from the ground. "I know where to put you…" He would say before taking off with his limp and unconcious body.
