The Four Stone Blades’ hideout is finally found! Except it isn’t the end of it. Iwa launches an assault regardless.

Weeks had past and most of it had involved the higher ups of Iwagakure planning and plotting the attack against the base they'd found for the Stone Blades. Sadly, it had quickly become apparent that this particular base housed only one of the Blades and their minions. This Blade in particular seemed to be the one that had been raiding caravans as, over time, Iwa had come to understand some of how their operations worked. Unfortunately there hadn't been any obvious signs of communication between the other Blades…if they existed. Perhaps there was truly only two?
It's night as that had been deemed the best time to attack the base. The guards were at a minimum then and they seemed to be a little too lax all in all. There had even been enough time to mark the rotations and pick the night that the laziest guards were about. As it is, they don't move from the entrance of the base, which is of course a large cave. Instead there's a group of six guards hanging about, playing cards, sitting next to a fire. At least they're keeping relatively quiet…don't want to make too much noise and let people know they're being lazy after all.
Resources were stretched with the attacks and even with this being such an operation, you have to use what you have. Nendo was brought along, along with his two charges that he is responsible for. Of course, Kioko was added to the roster as she hasn't been field tested properly yet and Juudai believed in trial by fire. Cherii as well was along as she's been involved as much as anyone. As they approach the cave, Juudai keeps them far enough back to talk.
"We go in fast. I am going to slip ahead, silently. Cherii, you and Kioko cover me with bees to help me explore the inside of this cave. Our main objective here isn't necessarily killing the leader. We actually want him alive if possible. I want him brought down hard but kept alive. Alive, however, doesn't mean whole so don't feel the need to hold back either." She looks to Nendo and the kids. She eyes them for a moment before looking to Nendo, "This is your test. Either you did as I asked for they and you both failed." She nods, "I want the guards down hard and fast with you spearheading that effort. The enemy should think this is simply a regular open attack from the front. I don't want them to realize I'm infiltrating till it is too late."
Kaneko is here! The girl is pretty happy to be a part of this mission, but she also knows that the stakes here are going to be high… And does she even know her stuff enough to be of any use? She sure hopes so… "Yes, Juudai-sama!" Kaneko says in an excited hushed whisper, the young Murasame giving a small salute before looking around a bit at the group. People she knew… Except for Kioko, really. Not too bad. "So we're going to be going for the guards, Nendo-sensei?" Kaneko asks her sensei to confirm this order. She may have heard Juudai, but understanding is just as important as hearing. She takes a breath, then draws a kunai from her pouch. Because this was a real mission, she had brought real kunai and shuriken with her rather than the silly blunted weapons the Academy students use. 'I can do this…' she thinks to herself. 'I've been training a lot.'
Hotaru's done so well she was selected for this field trip on several ocassions, despite a previous failing to follow orders. That, or the turmoil in Iwa has been so great that even gifted students must do their part. Perhaps, today, she gets to be an actual shinobi. This time, Hotaru is going to listen completely to the Tsuchikage and Nendo of course. This time. "Okay! Nendo-sensei, I am ready this time. We're going to kick some butts, and this time I won't pick up random stones on the side of the road!" Hotaru says with a wide grin. Uh oh. Nendo's going back to the academy himself if he doesn't succeed here. Let's hope Hotaru manages to not screw anything up. What Nendo-sensei doesn't know, is that I'm 500% ready for this! Ehehe… All I have to do is aim and shoot. Aim and shoot and hit… That's it. She takes a deep breath and places both hands on her cane. "I can walk without my cane for ten seconds at a time, before I collapse, Nendo-sensei… So… plan around that…"
Nendo had stayed close to Juudai on the way there, a slight frown showing on the genin's face as he listened to her words. Rather than responding to her comments about his possible failure, Nendo simply nodded and showed a slight smile when she said she wanted it to seem like an open attack. "I've not told them to be loud, but they will do as I say unless they want to face the consequences.. Both of them have learned from the last mission as well as training." Nendo explained while turning his head to look over the girls with the usual firm expression he wore on a mission. "And I expect both of you not to make me think I've been too soft on you with the few breaks you've been given." Nendo explained before he looked toward Kaneko and nodded at her question. "We're going to be taking out the guards along with anyone else that comes out; all three of us will be focusing on that as well as keeping them focused on us. Then Nendo looked to Hotaru and nodded at her words firmly. "Be sure you don't. I want you focused on orders and the enemy, anything beyond that is secondary. I don't want either of you slacking on the attakc when things begin." The genin explained while taking into account Hotaru's warning of how little time she had to move without her cane. It would have to do and he could cover for her if anything were to happen.
Cherii nods in response to Juudai's orders. "Aye, Tsuchikage-sama. We'll keep 'em busy." Cherii looks over to Kioko. Pity she hasn't had a chance to get familiar with the 'foreign' Kamizuru before they're tossed into a mission together. Well, there's one important detail they can take care of before they start fighting in an enclosed area. Cherii sends a few of her bumblebees over to buzz around Kioko. "Get a guid whiff o' her pheremones, wee ones, that hive is friendly, even if they're nae local stock. Dinnae be confusin' them fer an enemy."
Blades… Kioko isn't too familiar with this whole situation since she's still kind of new, but a mission is a mission, and she's out to prove herself. She doesn't want to stay a Genin too long, after all… To Juudai's orders, she nods simply then looks over to her… probably distant cousin of some sort. Who knows? When the bumblebees come her way, some of Kioko's own bees and wasps do the same and fly over around Cherii and her hive. Once they've familiarized themselves, they move to make their part of the cloud around the Tsuchikage and prepare for the mission ahead.
A nod to each and then she looks ahead, "I'm going to slip inside. Once inside I will be out of contact. Cherii, that means you will be in charge. Make sure no one leaves this cave except for me." SHe then looks forward, "This goes down hard and fast, without any casualities on our side." She then immediately focuses her chakra and begins to fade as she uses her seals to cloak herself and run on.

Kaneko nods quickly to Juudai, then takes a breath. She didn't have any skills that needed chakra, so she didn't have to focus anything. The girl grins faintly to Nendo. "Nendo-sensei, do you mind if we just rush in?" Once the permission is granted, the girl salutes and gets a tighter grip on her kunai before sneaking off a little away from where the rocks the group is hiding behind is. Then she arrives before the cave's entrance. "HEYYY, Mister guards! You guys are all super lazy and you can get beat up with just a mean look, I bet!" she taunts, blowing a raspberry in their direction. As soon as they start reacting, she draws three shuriken from her holder with her left hand and throws them at the different guards. Apparently she can throw with both arms! How useful.

Hotaru winces at Kaneko's attempt to get the guard's attention. It makes Hotaru worry if they shouldn't have tried to be more sneaky this time. "K-kaneko-chan… Ano… M-maybe we shouldn't basically do what I did last time and…" Oh well, too late. Nevertheless, she does stand by until she actually gets within a good range of someone. "Hai, Nendo-sensei… Hold it until someone gets near, and -then- fire!" She says raising a hand and getting to her knees to wait for the first non-Iwa shinobi to move in front of her. Glass-cannon mode activated! "I should have eaten before we went…" She muses as she places her hands together and focuses her chakra. She sure hopes Kaneko knows what she's doing. She doesn't want to spend even more time not being a genin compounded on her lots of time clearly spent not being a genin for not listening.

Nendo would watch the kage go before smirking a bit as Kaneko, eager as she is, asks first. Who was he to deny her when that was their order anyway? "Don't run too close to them." He'd comment while nodding, giving her a moment to run ahead before a slight groan left his throat in the way that the young girl managed to get that attention. Sad as it was, he could at least spin it to be an advantage for them and was quick to form a quick handseal so he could gather chakra. He'd need to talk with the girl on her method of gaining attention later on even if it was fairly amusing to see. "Hotaru be sure to hold off on your main attack until you can see someone, I don't want you burning down chakra just to miss at longer ranges." The genin warned as he began forming hand seals rapidly with well-practiced hands.
Digging his fingers into the earth, the genin would pull them out with their fresh coating of soil and stone before leaking into the trees where he could get a better view to be fired off at those guards as well as move about while firing his attack to give the idea of a small group being the attacker rather than a single genin firing the volley.

Ever stop to think about the enormous complexities that go into what we normally think of as a simply action? Just walking, which most of us do without thinking, involves a great deal of coordination and balancing amongst the various parts of the body. Well, it's sort of similar for a Kamizuru commanding their hive. Controlling the movements and behaviors of a social-insect superorganism involves a lot of finessing of chakra and pheremones to achieve the desired effect, but from an outsider's perspective (and to a lesser degree also to the user once they've learned to do it subconsciously), it just looks like BEES FLY OVER HERE AND STING BODIES. And that's what Cherii's doing now, to make a short pose long. n.n

Since there's no real reason to try and keep tabs on the Kage's location right now, Kioko instead focuses on helping the others deal with the guards. While some of her bees are in the cave, another large wave pouring out from behind her shows that she definitely didn't send her full arsenal. Since everyone's amping up a bit, she decides to do so herself. A bit of groaning comes from her as one can hear some shifting around before extra eyes literally open just under her hairline while she sprouts a pair of antennae, some small wings on her back, and even a stinger and an extra set of arms. Seems her secret of being unique even among the Kamizuru is revealed, at least part of it, though this might explain how she was able to create that honey candy out of nowhere the other day. Not a lot of time to think about that, though, as her insects begin flying toward the guards with killing intent just as they were ordered.

The guards never even knew what hit them. One of them was quietly cursing another for winning the hand when suddenly that man wound up with a kunai in the throat. There was a moment of stunned silence before the others found themselves under attack as well. Bullets of earth break into two of the men while the other kunai continue to find victims as well. Bees take care of the last of the guards. Sadly, a little too much noise is made as Juudai would see whilst she sneaks around inside. There are more guards heading to the entrance. They peek out and around, some of them holding up wooden shields while others check on the dead outside. Yep, definitely dead. "Whoever's out there you're going to pay for this!"
Inside Juudai would find a rather intricate tunnel network. Guards were pouring out of one entrance, likely signifying where the barracks would be located for this particular group. There are three other paths one could take however, and none of them appear to be different than the others.
For her part, Juudai wasn't here to fight grunts. She frowns as she looks at the tunnels and starts list ing and examining each. She maintains her stealth as well as she tries to determine best direction.

"Got them~" Kaneko says with a small grin. She watches the entrance closely for more to come out and into her view. "Cowards! Hiding behind shields. You attack defenseless villagers and you think it's okay to run around with protection?" Kaneko once again draws more shuriken from her pouch, glad that her comrades are all behind her. If she didn't have backup, she might as well be toast! But as it is, she could do this. She had to prove she was strong! "I hope you like a blades at your throats…" she mutters then, throwing the shuriken once more and trying to aim them at what isn't behind wood.
Wood? When Hotaru spies wood from the bushes, her lips curl into a smile. "Ano… Wood… And fire… Makes burning wood, ne?" Hotaru never thought it'd be so easy. "I'm going Nendo-sensei!" She says as she gets onto her feet with the help of her cane and walks closer to the entrance, likely past Kaneko after her Kunais are let loose. "Kaneko-chan! Nendo-sensei! Watch me become a genin!" She says as she waves to the people holding shields. "OOOY! You're all a bunch stupid nomin(peasants)!" She says as she lets loose her cane and quickly runs through her seals, ending in Tori. She then inhales and exhales, creating a line of flame. She even turns her head as she does so, showing she has gotten quite a bit more skilled in using this technique…
Nendo would watch the entrance of the hideout closely while moving about the area and observing the guards. "Well done, Kaneko, keep their attention and keep baiting them, just be ready to show me you don't need another week of dodge exercises." Nendo commented while moving in the brush close enough that he could mutter the words for the Murasame to hear him. With that warning, the genin slipped back to where Hotaru should have been however the girl was shouting already… Children, shouting… the one thing the Genin couldn't say he'd love to deal with as he got older. Getting closer to the enemy means getting closer to harm and while the genin wanted to yell that out, he didn't want to give the enemy any more information on their group than he needed. Squinting, the genin again gathered earth onto his fingers once he'd gone through the hand seals and took his time eying each of the guards before fanning out his fingers and firing the next barrage of shots onto the group before him. Nendo was careful however, firing around the girl and doing what he could to conserve chakra in case he needed it for saving the Watanabe.
Cherii doesn't think it much of a misfortune that the rest of the hideout was alerted to their presence. Their current assignment is to keep attention away from Juudai-sama, after all. "Guid work, keep drawin' them oot an' takin' them doon," Cherii murmurs to those in her charge. Cherii has her bees land on the wall around the cave entrance, then once the baddies come out, ambushes them from behind. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. n.n
…That transformation of Kioko's, though…that's a little freaky. c.c; Cherii's pretty sure she's never heard of a Kamizuru actually becoming bee-like…

Well, this is easy thus far. While assisting in taking down the guards, Kioko ignores any staring that may come from the others. People will eventually get used to her mutation, or they won't. Her bees that scattered after their initial attack come back to the guards that come after their buddies died, making another sweep with intent to annihilate anything that's not a member of Iwagakure.
Having arrived late on the scene, the Gansao medic known as Kango is at the tail end of the group. As the guards come pouring out, he begins a set of handseals, exerting his will over any of them that meet his gaze. He follows this up with another set of handseals as he causes stone columns to rise out of the ground to smack random guards. He asks in a quiet voice. "Does anyone need medical attention?" He's more of a support guy, so he tends to stay in the back and..support.

The different paths inside the tunnel don't give any good indicator as to which might be outrightly useful. After a little time, however, Juudai would see that guards come from three of the tunnels but not from the fourth. From the fourth strides a man with a deep frown who mutters as he passes near Juudai, "Can't these guards do anything. Boss is all pissed off now."
Well fire definitely burns wood and the shields catch ablaze pretty easily thanks to those little flaming bullets. Others continue to defend against various kunai and earthen based bullets but they don't even succeed all that well at that and a number of guards find themselves hurting pretty bad. Then there's them bees who just keep coming around and causing problems! A few hundred stings later and there's no shortage of dead people from bee venom alone! When the genjutsu comes out some guards turn on each other and start attacking out of fear the genjutsu brings, while others are smacked by pillar of earth from out of nowhere!
The guards are finally able to move on the offensive now however as they now know where the attacks are coming from! Kunai and other weapons of pain are throws at the shinobi, generally speaking the shinobi who threw things at them! And then the Assistant appears, making hand seals as he attempts to bear down on the attacking shinobi, allowing them to see death from a new perspective. Their own.
Abusing that opening, Juudai continues to maintain her cloak to go past the guy who came out of that hallway and head down it. She only briefly glances at that man as she heads down the hallway he came from in order to find this so called boss.

Kaneko is about to draw a few more shuriken from her pouch when Hotaru jumps into the fray. Literally. "Hotaru-chan! Don't do anything stupid!" she exclaims, shaking her head a bit. But … Well, the fire was pretty strong. Kaneko let the Watanabe be so that she could focus on the battle going on around her. "Hai, sensei!" she says, forcing herself hit to jump when Nendo gets so close. The surprise threw off her aim a bit, so she doesn't release the weapons in her hand just yet.
The young girl watches the flood of attacks whizz past her head, and she doesn't see Kioko's newest form so she doesn't get scared half to death by it. Just as she's about to attack, though, she finds herself under fire! While she's able to avoid the incoming blows, it doesn't do anything for the Genjutsu. She winces a bit as she, in her mind, falls victim to the sharp objects that were thrown at her, one of them even cutting her throat so that she ends up bleeding out!

Hotaru's stream of fire lasted a good seven seconds, and add that to the three seconds it took to form the seal, and Hotaru has officially reached her limits upon her legs. She falls onto her bottom with a victorious grin, falling onto her back to take a quick breather! "Kaneko-chan, see that? They got burnt! Ha! Go team Explosive Fo-" Suddenly her big mouth stutters as blood begins to leave it. "Nnnh?" She wouldn't be able to speak, but instead begins to cough. It didn't occur to her, but, when she looks down to her stomach she realizes that… She was just impaled by an earth-release attack. "Ugh!?"
All the while, it left her completely vulnerable to incoming attack. It allowed the enemy to stomp right on her fragile little body… Clearly the genjutsu took it's toll. She was not able to respond…

The stone columns brought Nendo's attention to his own group, taking in the new member of their group as well as Kioko's new shape. The genin couldn't help being distracted by that and smirked a bit as he tilted his head. "I knew you were interesting but you're pretty too." Nendo commented on the beewoman before returning his eyes to the enemy and regretfully, saw nothing but the silvery-gray of kunai and shuriken blotting his view. He couldn't breathe in the slightest as the genin felt a barrage of kunai impaling him. Blinking, the world was normal and rather than the horde, it was just one or two kunai.
Nendo overreacted to those few weapons by overcharging himself until his hair stood on end and the genin flickered out of the path of those blades. The cold sweat flooding down his face paired with the deep breathing of the genin marked his submission to the sense of death. The genin was crouched on the ground, staring forward intensely as he tried to force the image in his mind to fade even as the false-pain of those imaginary blades still lingered in his skin.

It's so much fun taking down swathes of incompetent baddies, it can be easy to run low on usable chakra while attacking over and over. n.n; And unfortunately that's the situation Cherii finds herself in at the worst possible moment. Just as she's thinking she'd better stop and restock, an invasive influence takes over her low-ebbing chakra stream. o.o; From who-knows-what source, her belly suddenly seems to be sliced open…and most mortifyingly of all, it's mostly fat that squeezes out from the gaping wound. ;.;

Once the weaklings are taken down, it seems someone better has come into the mix. As she experiences her murder, an attempt at proving it to be false seems to fail, which causes her to lift an eyebrow a bit at how lucid she is still… If she's not gonna die in the next few seconds, she better figure out at least how to kill whoever's attacking now….

Kango knew that the genjutsu was beginning to affect him. As someone who specialized in it, he found that it was too strong for him to break on his own. To his horror, boils and sores begin appearing all over his body, mucus flows out of his nose as, from his perspective, his body begins to die of an incurable, unknown disease. The aspiring doctor is horrified and falls to his knees while clutching his abdomen as pain that is all to real in his mind begins to cripple him.

It wouldn't take Juudai long to reach the end of the tunnel and a section that's set apart from the rest by a large door. The door is currently closed, though there's shouting from behind that reaches the Kage's ears in a muffled sound. "What the gemini are you idiots doing? Can't you fight off a few stupid shinobi? Are you retarded? If you don't find a way to stop them you better hope they kill you, because I'll be doing much worse than that!"
With the shinobi falling under his genjutsu the man smirks out over the dark field. "Make sure you kill them all. Don't make me have to come out and do it myself." The genjutsu user stays back by the cave entrance while some of the guards start spreading out warily towards the shinobi. While they make out towards the shinobi the genjutsu user plays on their minds a little more, letting those imaginary injuries draw out some more.

Kaneko can't move at all… And yet through the darkness, she begins to feel pain. Pain that revives her from the eternal nothingness and back into the real world. The girl grits her teeth to keep from screaming aloud, but the pain is too much, and her voice escapes her throat in a very loud, very shrill scream. She's gasping for air by the time she recovers, throat raw and eyes watering. She swallows to alleviate the pain from her own voice and turns a bleary eyed gaze to the enemy. "You're all dead," she mutters. Her kunai and shuriken had dropped from her hands, but she was rooted in the same place for the past few minutes. She picks them up quickly, and chucks the three shuriken at the enemy. Her throws are terrible, sadly, because of the Genjutsu.

Hotaru once again, wakes from the end of a terrible painful death. She had bled out to death in her somber illusion, which was a terrible way to die. It was slow and painful, and when she woke up she would try to stand up. "N-no, please… not that technique again…" She says, panting as she attempts to get onto her knees. As soon as she does though, the same area that she was impaled by in her false death suddenly sparked an immeasurable pain. Hotaru screamed as she fell to her side, curling up into a fetal position as she grasped her stomach. How could this pain be so real, yet not be real?

Nendo was staring intently at the Genjutsu user, knowing enough to not look at the man's eyes now that he knew what the man's skill focus was however he didn't expect it could affect him as deeply as it did. Hearing Hotaru scream and fall in pain, Nendo started biting down on his lower lip until he could feel the flow of blood running down his jaw. It did nothing against the Genjutsu but it helped Nendo's racing mind to slow down to a pace that he could think somewhat clearly. When those lingering pains began growing from an ache to a seriously agonizing pain, the genin winced but refused to let the Genjutsu user cripple him a second time. As the men started to move in, the genin slowly started to force himself up to his feet despite his trembling and flexed his hands while eying the men moving in on them. "Get up, Hotaru.. It's too early to be laying down.. We've got a job to do.." Nendo ordered, his hands slowly, shakily beginning to form hand seals for his hands whipped out to his sides and began firing off a spray of bullets at the encroaching bandits.

Oh, this is not fun for anybody here. x.x Cherii simply does her best to endure the illusionary torture, and starts gathering up her chakra. Gradually it becomes easier as the genjutsu's hold fades. "Dinnae give up," Cherii gulps as she regains control of herself. "He's a braw mind-wrangler, but we can beat 'im!" >.<;

Kango grunts even more as those imaginary injuries seem to bleed a little more. He grumbles, "My mentor would be ashamed of me right now." He struggles back to his feet, shaking his head to clear it of the genjutsu. If that guy wanted to go, then they can go. Kango pushes out with his mind once again, searching for the source of the genjutsu before attacking mind to mind. "Genjutsuists like to stay hidden and strike from cover. He's out there, you guys have to find him or this won't stop. I'm speaking from experience here." Cause that's the way he was taught. He forms handseals and sends more pillars of earth to strike more of the guards.
Feeling the injuries do a bit more harm, Kioko groans a bit, but now she's only more angry. She cocks her head back a back, seeming to chew a bit and focus before she spews out a wave of honey intended to bind any of the guards she can get caught in it.

The guards certainly weren't expecting the shinobi to recover so quickly and begin attacking again! When the genjutsuist works with them on merchants they can't move for hours! Thanks to that expectation they fall horribly under the assault from the shinobi, all the way from one kind of attack to the next, all the way to attacking each other because of the genjutsu. Many fall, but a few remain and go after the Students and young Genin. Meanwhile the Assistant turns his attention to the greater threats as he attacks the Chuunin and older beekeeper with more genjutsu, distracting them while trying to let more pain flow through them.
Having reached her destination, while all the mess is happening outside, Juudai charges up chakra into her hand. She doesn't bother with cloaking anymore as she approaches the door. She simply takes a palm strike right against the door to blow that thing wide open. The explosive chakra in her hand setting off like a shaped charge. She then will stand tall in the doorway and hmms softly, "I think you should be less worried about your men and more worried about your own chances." She casually brings up a cigar to her lips and with one flickering bit of chakra lights it up.

Kaneko is still a bit slow, it seems, as she tries to avoid the onslaught of sharp things and punches and kicks. "Oof," she mutters, getting punched in the stomach. She attempts to retaliate by putting a kunai in the man's stomach while she throws another shuriken with her other hand at someone approaching from her left, then she drops and scoots around her attacker to use her kunai and slash at him again.

Things were looking bleak. Hotaru had just finally managed to get out of the genjutsu she was affected by when the one individual rears his foot back and shoves it against her side. She clearly had a Myriad of bruises on her at this point. It was getting hard to breathe, and the young academy student might have had some internal bleeding. In a desperate attempt to live she would create a her most well known of hand-seal sets, attempting to attack her assaulters at point-blank range, breathing fire at them dangerously close to herself.

Nendo was panting, arms hanging at his sides after firing off the volley of bullets but it seemed they were too inacurate in his blind hail of fire and left too many willing to still attack. The genin would wait for his own attacker to close in; wait until he'd caught his breath enough to shift out of the way of the man's swing and counter with a sharp swing of his sleeved arm for the man's throat. The glint of a kunai in Nendo's hand acted as the only signal of the genin's attack, he was beginning to run low on chakra and wasn't about to try calming and focusing his chakra in the middle of a fight.

Caught by Genjutsu and 'injured' again, Kioko lets out a growl. Since it basically breaks itself in the cycle, she spews forth yet another jet of honey intended to freeze up the Assistant. Whether it catches the man or not, she leaps forward and goes to sink her teeth directly into his throat to implant a potent poison directly into him.

A few guards stand in stunned silence when the door is just…destroyed. Standing near the middle of the room is a man with a foot long blade made of stone at his side. "You let her get this far? Incompetent!" the man shouts before he draws the stone blade. "That's it, it's time for you to die!" In a flash the man launches forward to try and slice the Kage right across the stomach with the ruggedly sharp stone blade.
More guards fall as the rather angry shinobi do angry things! A few get stabbed by an angered Kaneko, a few get burned by an angered Watanabe, and one gets gutted by a Nendo. Ouch. The guards that are left start to flee, leaving only the assistant to defend himself while shouting obscenities after the guards. "Ugh, fine! I'll do this myself!" But then…he gets smacked around by the bees. By the time it's done he's looking pretty beat up. He makes his hand seals quickly to lash out at the group again…before he starts to try and flee.

Standing there, the attack comes in at her hard. SHe tilts her head to the side as it hits her. One simple hand seal, nothing more or less. It appears that is all she does and the blade simply smashes into her gut like it were slicing titanium steel. The sound and actions are practically null. SHe looks at the man who made the slash with her cigar casually still between her lips before she simply states, "Know death and cower."
For that moment, her eyes appear to take on a feral nature as if horror itself were flowing from her. In that moment, she would impart upon this man the full weight of death that she is. For a moment he could picture all the ways he could die and may die in the next moment all bearing down upon him as if his own mind were imparting upon him his own mortality when up against this woman.

Kaneko watches all the people start fleeing. "Hey! Get back here!" she yells, just as she starts to see things cutting her… But it isn't real. The bite of the sharp object doesn't match up, and she ends up cutting her hand with her kunai, breaking her from the illusion. "Tsk… Old tricks…" She then uses her kunai to try and cut a few legs and stop the running folk, mostly the guards, but she also tosses one at the Assistant.

Hotaru was already in a lot of pain. Hotaru dies once again, in a way in which isn't quite as well thought of as the last, but it's still a terrible feeling nonetheless… She has been on the ground for nearly the entire fight, struggling her way through genjutsu… Her mind is starting to crumble under this sort of stress. She might not be able to fight any more as a result…

Nendo moved toward Hotaru to grip the girl by her arm and toss her into the brush.. that much he knew was real. What he didn't think was real was the sight of that small girl breathing her dragon's breath onto him. There was the agonizing pain of being burned alive by those licing flames but Nendo whipped free a kunai by its blade and clenched tightly to slice into his palm with the blade. Real pain. That was what brought him from the feeling of pain and the genin threw his kunai after the fleeing assistant before forming hand seals and letting off a barrage of bullets to chase after that blade. "Don't run!"

Ah-ah-ah, not this time. >) Cherii finally manages to retain control over her chakra system when the enemy tries to make her experience <strike>obesity shame</strike>death again. Her bees pursue the fleeing shinobi without respite, stinging at his face around the eyes in an attempt to swell them shut. "Ye're nae goin' anywhere bucko, we've a dainty wee cell wi' yer name on it an' plenty o' questions!"

The Blade isn't entirely surprised when he fails to injure the Kage on his first attack. He is a little surprised when he feels genjutsu flowing over him though. His hands come together as he surges his chakra. "Kai!" It's enough to keep him free from her grasp for the moment and it makes him a little full of himself as he sneers at the woman. "Nice try witch." His comment is followed by a flurry of blows to try and cut through the Kage's defense.
Poor poor Assistant he can't quite avoid the variety attacks and ends up getting all kinds of cut, beat, and stung. In the end he just keeps over, definitely dead and just kind of lying there. The rest of the guards have scattered as well, with some injured trying to crawl away as well.

The attacks have Juudai sending her arms up to deflect them only for her to get cut though the damage is negligible thanks to the defense. Even attacks that get through only seem to bruise, not cut just yet. The seal has her well protected even if it doesn't stop it all. She jumps back and points down as she does to indicate the two kunai at the man's feet which explode one after the other, the first a flash of light and burst of sound. The second one is an actual explosive that could do a considerable amount of damage, "Surrender, I grow tired of your little attacks."
Kaneko watches the rest of the people flee, and she makes a bit of a face. "Dang it…" she mutters, feeling the pain of her wounds now. Then a thought crossed her mind: Hotaru! "Hotaru-chan!" she exclaims, forgetting her injuries in favor of seeking her friend. The girl fell back behind Nendo to go and check on the Watanabe, shaking her a bit to try and make sure she was okay. "Hotaru-chan? are you alive?"
Hotaru was bleeding, legs cut up, jacket cut through, skirt frayed. Bruises were where skin could be seen, hinting more underneath. The Watanabe's eyes were barely open, though as she lay within the cover of the bushes after having been dragged there by Nendo, she would see Kaneko approach and shake her down. Hotaru coughs a little, a little blood dribbling down the side of her lips… "Kaneko…" She calls, eyes looking a little glazed, "A-no… I… didn't… know you were… an angel Kaneko-chan… But, I'm glad it is you there to take me away…" Hotaru has died so many times already today, that she doesn't seem scared about it. Even though she is in a safe place, she doesn't realize that she wasn't dieing. The lasting effects of previous genjutsu still affect her. Still, the young Watanabe has reached her limit, and thus she does close her eyes remaining still. Some rest in the hospital will bring her back to good health, surely.
Nendo visibly relaxed when the man fell, sighing and beginning to step away when Kaneko's calling reminded him of the badly injured dragon and drawing him to reach into his pouch. As they neared the girl the genin could tell she wasn't anywhere near good shape and kneeled down to start working some of the healing ointments onto her wounds. Soon bandages and gauze would be bound onto her more severe wounds. It was basic first aid, enough to help ensure the girl didn't slip further away due to her wounds but the genin was only able to do that much. When he was done, rather than moving her, he set down in the brush so he could keep an eye on her and the cave… Hopefully that genjutsu user was the end of their troubles tonight.

Well that's disappointing. :/ The guy drops dead just from some bee stings and such. Genjutsuists must not come from very sturdy stock. Oh well, hopefully Tsuchikage-sama will capture somebody higher up the chain of command with more secrets to spill anyway. Cherii helps Nendo out with the first aid. And doubtless Kango gives her some even more effective treatment while the amateurs are working on the minor cuts. 'Cause he's an actual medic. Who is here. c.c

That blade of stone flicks through the air when Juudai points out the tags, cutting the air between he and them and forcing the blasts away. With that done the man shakes his head. "You must be drunk woman. No, you can die now and make my life that much easier." He rushes the Kage again, slicing and dicing a few more times as he just tries to drive her back and cut her at the same time.
As for outside the cave the guards are dead or fled, leaving the shinobi to clean up themselves and anything else.

ONe attack simply scrapes off her seal and then the second cuts into her and she attempts to step in close and glare at him again, "I will not die to some fool like you. I will put you in the ground myself, but not today." She shakes her head, "I will break your will first and learn your secrets. I will draw you and anyone else like you out of this land like poison drawn from a wound. I will purge you." The pain of her glare and her mind pushing down upon the man comes again even as she gives him thoughts of her killing him repeatedly.
Kaneko is not too happy about the current state of her friend. Her injuries were nothing! She should have tried to protect Hotaru more! "I'm sorry, Hotaru-chan. I should have tried to protect you…" she says, eyes tearing up. Relief crosses her face visibly when Nendo starts to patch Hotaru up. Sure, the Watanabe looked a bit more like a mummy than before, but as long as she lived, Kaneko would be happy. "Nendo-sensei… Should we get out of here?" she asks tentatively, looking around at the destruction. Their Kage was fighting still, by the sounds of it, but it's not like they could help her.
Hotaru is still out. Though she'd be happy to know that Kaneko is crying for her, and caring for her alongside Nendo.

Nendo nodded to Kaneko's question, lifting the injured mummy of a Watanabe and holding her to his chest with one arm as the other arm reached out to pat Kaneko's head before the genin would start leading the smaller girl back the way they'd come from so he could get them to the base. The Kamizuru could stay behind and tend to the Kage no doubt. At the very least the two were stronger than Nendo for the moment so he knew in comparison, he would just be in the way. "Let's get Hotaru to the hospital, and you too." The girls did much better today though, to keep from boosting their egos too much, he'd save such words of praise for when they were all safely inside the stone walls of Iwa.

If only things were so easy for the Kage. But alas, one of the four blades is not going to be so easily cowed by the woman. Another "kai!" later and he frees himself again from the woman's touch. She growls softly and then she simply attempts to vanish from sight. Even as she does, she is pulling out a familiar globe from within her robe.

Even as he looks around for the woman, she is already moving idly around him moving her hands quickly as the orb floats up from her. She starts to move slowly around the orb as it charges up. She nearly drops the cloak due to the pain she feels from the bleeding from her gut. She is now, however, in hte doorway to the cave area as she starts to turn and walk off. She pulls up a new cigar and growls softly as her seals end and her cloak falls, "Run away?" She shakes her head, "No, I was just preparing your tomb." She starts off toward the exit as the mist within the orb fills the air around her opponent, "Let this mountain be a monument to your failure." The tiny orb at the center then sparks for just a brief moment before it ignites the very air around it.

The Blade turns to regard the woman when she speaks from the doorway, seeming entirely unconcerned by the woman's words. "You can keep dreaming top." But then, well, that ball sparks and he finds himself covered and breathing in lots of exploding needle while the world around him blows up as well. The tunnel network begins to crack, quake, then start to fall apart. The man has no chance to escape. "You mag-!" he's cut off as the interior collapses on him.
