Not so long ago (maybe two weeks or so?), someone was captured by a team led by Tatsuo. This someone and a few others were taken in for questioning, and it was eventually revealed that the leader of the few attackers was a former officer-in-training within the organization that had plagued the Land of Fire and even parts of the Land of Lightning what seemed like ages ago. Worried that they were starting to reform, another team was sent out to seek out anything that might lead to a budding hideout. That was one week ago, and nothing was discovered.
Within those past few weeks, though, Shinobu wasn't inclined to go on any missions. She would train, yes, but she basically feigned illness or busy-ness whenever offered something. So today was the first time she's been missioning in a while. Thankfully, it was just something simple, according to the short missive she was given. Daichi was given something similar, and their leader would be Kenta.
Today's mission? It was something that involved escorting some goods. The merchant-client had thrown out his back, and he really needed this stuff to get to the Land of Tea. It was important or something. Shinobu stood at the gate with Kame sitting next to her. The young Inuzuka sorta watched the cart that was already prepped for travel with horses at the front.

It's just a run of the mill mission, so Kenta's not too worried. That doesn't mean he's not prepared for trouble. Run of the mill missions have a tendency of blowing up into something bigger half the time that he leads missions, so he's an experienced horse by now. The young man's fully equipped with weapons, travel rations, tags, medical supplies and anything else that he might need in an emergency. He also has a warm cloak wrapped around him to keep off the winter chill. The young man's positively lost in the folds of fabric, so that only a bit of his face is showing.
While Shinobu stood back to watch the cart get prepped, Kenta's actively walking around it to make sure he knows every nook and cranny of the horse drawn vehicle. It'll be important to know the weak points and where to defend if the cart gets attacked somehow. An immobile cart would be one of the worst things that could happen on the mission. Kenta heads towards the rest of the team when he finishes his inspection. "Ummm… are all of you ready?"

Daichi just sat around lazily as he was ready for the mission to begin. Then he heard Kenta speak up and ask if they were ready and of course he answered quickly. "Yeah. I am ready Kenta." He then hopped right off the cart and over to where Shinobu was as she was probably answering and smiled a bit upon landing. "Seems like a simple mission huh?" He pulled out a sketch book to draw more of the cart… So Shinobu could see that he did seem to be doing something while sitting up there, and they might remember he did look around the cart before getting up on it.

Shinobu nods quietly to Kenta when he asks if they're ready, and she glances over to Daichi and nods slowly. "M… Maybe…" she offers, having an odd feeling. She was sort of in Kenta's boat in terms of the 'Simple missions usually end up having a ton of weird things that suddenly go on' line of thought. When Kenta gives the order, she would nudge the horses into a steady pace so they could get moving on the mission and all. Then she climbs onto the cart to help Daichi with keeping an eye out for any trouble. Kame sat at the reins, tail wagging as she gets this new view from 'up high' and all. Both have their noses attuned for anything that might be trouble.

Kenta doesn't get on the cart yet. He jogs next to it to make another final round of inspections, being all too cautious sometimes. This also gives him a chance to make sure that the seal tags he stuck to the sides of the cart are still holding up well. Once that's done, he quickens his pace to reach the front of the cart. Then, the medic-nin jumps up to join Kame, though he doesn't take the reins. He plants himself on the side seat instead, where he'll have a good view of the road. Shinobu and Daichi has a better view of the surroundings, but he still need to keep his eyes open for trouble.

Daichi looked at Shinobu and smiled a bit before relaxing on the cart and looking around. Then he sees Kame driving instead of Kenta. "Does Kame actually know how to do this? Kenta shouldn't you be steering?" He just sighed and looked around a bit. He hoped this wouldn't be a long trip. It shouldn't be as long as they encounter nothing AND they were heading to the land of tea where Ryuusei was.

Oh, Kame is driving? The pup perks up a bit at this realization and puffs out her chest since she feels super important at the moment! The pup still tries to keep an eye out, but the first leg of the journey is as unexciting as usual. Nothing pops out to anyone whatsoever, not even the very scent-sitive Inuzuka duo. Shinobu is pretty fine with being able to relax, at least. The entire trip would take about two days total if everything went well, so she brought her flute for some entertainment, though she wants to save that for nighttime. Since she can't play, Shinobu peeks over at what Daichi is doing. Kame huffs. ~I can drive!~ No she can't… c.c;

Yes… yes, Kame can drive. At least, that's what Kenta wants the pup to think, since he doesn't have the heart to pop that bubble of hers. Nevertheless, the medic-nin would reach over to give the reins a bit of a tug and a steer whenever they need to turn a corner or urge the horses to do something specific. Luckily, the horses are used to road travel and it's not hard to follow a straight forward road anyway. Kenta doesn't have to do that quite as often as he fears, which gives Kame plenty of time to feel good about herself. Whenever he doesn't need to make adjustments, the young man continues to scan the surroundings.

Daichi looks at Shinbou as she looks to see if he was doing anything and he shrugged. Then he had an idea and pulled out his notebook and a random page of paper. He set it on the notebook which in turn was on the cart and drew a bunch of dots in the form of a box before putting dots inside the box as well. "Wanna play a game? We can take turns looking and taking our turns." He then looked around as she answered.

Neither Kenta nor Daichi would notice the rustling that was taking place not so far from the cart. They had some folk that were following them, it seems… As they got further and further from Konoha, the time for an attack would get better and better. Around three hours into the journey, a canister would be launched to the top of the cart, expelling sleeping gas that would affect everyone almost instantly.

Shinobu would blink when something whizzed past her head, the girl instinctively ducking to avoid the canister. Sadly, it was not the object she needed to avoid. It was the stuff that was hissing out of it. Shinobu would feel sleepy a bit, and the girl would yawn and doze off almost right away. zZzZzZ

Clink. That sound and the hiss of gas escaping from the canister is all the warning that Kenta needs. "On alert, now!" the young man exclaims even as he makes a few quick hand seals. A skin tight barrier of seals immediately washes over his body to block off harmful substances and attacks. Kenta flicks the horses to a stop and jumps to his feet to see where the attack came from. "You guys ok?!" he calls out as he peers over the roof of the cart at Shinobu and Daichi while focusing a little of his attention on maintaining his barrier.

Yeah Daichi didn't see it coming, and he simply fell to the side asleep. This is why he needed to work on looking around so he didn't get caught so off guard by these things. But it was too late for him as he had simply passed right out for the moment. Hopefully Kenta could protect them…..hopefully.

Suddenly, kidnappers descend upon the young Inuzuka. Kame was ignored in favor of Shinobu. Two smallish agents would swoop down and try to take her away without alerting Kenta, moving quickly to get away, then. If they're successful, they'd have a good head start on the leaf ninja. The good news is that they seemed to be heading in the direction of the Land of Tea! So Kenta and his remaining teammates won't be too off-course.

"Uh oh…" Kenta utters when he sees that everyone is are knocked out by the gas. The young man hurriedly tries to figure out where the attacks are coming from. He sends out a wide pulse of medical chakra and listens to the returning echoes for biological signatures. Left, right, forward, backwards, down… up! Kenta's head snaps up when he detects the two flying agents. He seems them right as they swoop down and grab Shinobu. But at that point, it's too late to drive them off, since Shinobu's body hangs as a shield in between.
"Daichi, wake up! We have to catch up to them!" Kenta exclaims as he jumps onto the roof to shake the boy awake. "Take the reins and follow! I'm going on foot. Report if anyone attacks you or the cart!" The young man quickly establishes a telepathic link between himself, Kame and Daichi before he dashes off down the road. It's working if this is the enemy's tactic to separate the team by making the leader choose following a kidnapped Genin or staying with horses loaded down by cargo. Doubt they thought that Kenta can at least keep in communication with those left with the cart.

Daichi did not wake up at all. He just napped away as Shinobu was stolen. What a sad day really…just good luck to those bandits when they woke up because if Daichi could catch up they would be in for a world of hurt. But for now…just sleep… Well good luck for Kenta right now then.

The two strangers would continue to run away from Kenta, using hooks and wires and jutsu to try and get away from the man. They got their target, so it was time to get outta here! Kame would be sleeping for a bit longer, but then she would wake up upon Kenta's urging and she'd yip. The pup would tackle Daichi to try and get him to spring into action before she'd try to chase after her partner! ~Come back!!!~ D:

"Stop! Stop right now! I'm warning you! You're not taking Shinobu-chan away, you evil… evil… people!" Kenta keeps running as fast as he can. As he moves, he begins to tap into the reservoir of chakra stored in the seal inked to his chest. The young man's begin to blur and flicker as he molds some of the chakra into a form that would vitalize his nerves to give him small boosts of speed.
"You made a big mistaken!" the medic-nin exclaims as soon as he starts to close in on them. The young man begins to form a series of hand seals. Black characters form on his body and flow down his legs to rapidly spread along the ground. Kenta sends the wave of black characters spearing forward to close in on the kidnappers. He can't use the Nara's shadow binding technique, so here's his own version… Kenta makes a final seal. Long, glowing filaments of chakra explodes out of the black seals to reach skywards and lash out at the kidnappers.

Daichi got hit by Kame and it only took him a split moment to notice what was going on. Shinobu was gone! So he swiftly removed his weights…out of habit more than actually needing to now, and with help from some chakra he flickered quickly from the cart. Multiple body flickers happenend in rapid succesion which sent him right to the spot they were all fighting. Them being captured already seemingly made him pause and he decided to question Kenta as chakra began to flow through him. "Kenta…what do we here?" If he had a way to grab Shinobu and land elsewhere with her then he would do just that while the bandit folks stayed trapped.

The kidnappers pour on the speed, but it's just not enough for them to get away completely. They end up getting caught, and they drop Shinobu, too! Owwie x.x; At least the enemy wasn't too far up off the ground. They sort of struggle within Kenta's grip, and one of them is even able to slip out of Kenta's grip. He flees again, disappearing into the earth to hide his presence completely. The other one just sorta glares daggers at Kenta.

Kenta blinks when Daichi suddenly shows up… sans cart. "Wait! I thought I told you to follow with the cart." He pauses to send a query back to Kame. «Do you have the cart secured, Kame-chan?» Then, he looks at Daichi with a slight frown. "Get some answers out of the one we caught and watch out for the one that managed to make it out of the bindings. He might try something else. I'm going to help Shinobu-chan." The young man jogs over to kneel at Shinobu's side. He immediately begin to heal her and try to wake her up from her drug induced unconsciousness. "Umm… don't you try anything stupid either," Kenta shoots towards the captured kidnapper.

Daichi hopped down next to the captured one and pulls out a kunai before holding it out in front of him. "Are you working for the same people that held Shinobu captive before." He went straight to asking. If so then they seemed to be coming back for her, and he was not alright with that. Also he did not know where that other person was, so ehhh. "Kenta….is Shinobu alright?"

Shinobu blinks a bit when she's woken up, rubbing a bit at her head. "Owwie…" she mumbles. The girl would try to look around, spots dancing in front of her eyes as she peers. "What happened..?" she asks, blinking a bit at the one person stuck by seals. He was still struggling, but to no avail. But the seals were, simply due to time, weakening. Suddenly, the ground would turn to mud, the underground man attempting to force Kenta and Daichi to stay in place.

"Umm… Shinobu-chan is ok. She's just still under the effects of the sleeping gas. She must have breathed in a lot more of it than you did," Kenta starts to explain to Daichi when the ground suddenly starts to change around them. "Daichi! Watch out!" He quickly forms several hand seals and a flood of seal character start to pour off his body again. This time, as they spread across the rapidly churning ground, they form a lattice of force that resolves into a wide golden barrier to cover the surface of the swamp. The effort makes sweat bead on Kenta's forehead despite the cold, since such a powerful jutsu requires a large amount of chakra. "Watch my back!" the medic-nin instructs his student as he finally taps into the full power of the seal on his chest. Seal characters appear on Kenta's face while a subtle aura forms around his body. Kenta also starts to as much chakra from the rest of his body as he can.

Daichi was saved by Kenta and just glared at the man that tried to attack them. Then Daichi flickered from view and ended up underneath wherever he was now standing to kick him high into the air. Daichi would shadow him and hop into the air to shadow him….hopefully. Otherwise this is just on the ground, but in case he was knocked into the air then Daichi would prepare his next attack. This attack would bring his foot from his side and downwards upon the mans chest aiming him hopefully towards his trapped ally.

The man that was partly in the ground didn't expect for Daichi to come at him, so into the air he flies! Wheeeee… And then he goes crashing down, part of his brain wondering if he broke his spine or something. Well, regardless, just because he's down for a bit doesn't mean his friend is. Said friend unleashes a very large smoke bomb that would obscure everything and everyone from view! And maybe he'd be able to grab Shinobu /this time/.

Kenta covers his mouth and nose when the smoke bomb detonates. He desperate sends out medical chakra to figure out where the shinobi that released it is, but is unable to detect anything despite his best efforts. «Daichi, get back to Shinobu-chan and cover her! They're probably going to try again!» Kenta does exactly what he tells his student to do. He tries to reach Shinobu again and use his own body to guard hers, hoping that the kidnappers would have to get close to him to reach her.

Daichi couldn't see nothing, and tried to get to where Shinobu was… "Kenta…. this is something.. Dangerous." He frowned as he felt useless.. The last time he felt this useless was on his B-Rank mission as a student. "I should…use those." That was all he said, but he didn't say anything else yet. And he didn't activate the gates…not yet… he wanted to be sure Kenta was okay with it. Though he couldn't guarantee he would listen to Kenta if he said no.

The smoke bomb also contained some sort of pepper powder D: This peppery substance would burn Kenta and Daichi's eyes, nose, and throat :( Unfortunately for them, by the time all the pepper smoke was gone, so was Shinobu. The bandits took her underground and fled! D: Or whatever these dudes were. They were obviously highly skilled… It was still possible to track them down, right? Maybe? Shinobu can't be gone forever!!!

"Do whatever you need to, Daichi! Protect Shinobu-chan!" Kenta exclaims as he tries to peer through the smoke. Unfortunately, that's all that he manages to get out before he starts coughing and choking. The young man rubs at his tearing eyes to clear them after the smoke dissipates enough for him to peer around. No Shinobu. «Kame-chan! Kame-chan! Abandon the cart! We need your nose!» he sends through the telepathic link. He also speaks aloud to Daichi. "They might not have gotten far. There's no enough time. See if you can pick up their trails!" Kenta starts to send out pulses of medical chakra again to see if he can sense anything. If only he had real long ranged sensory ninjutsu like so many of his Yamanaka cousins do.

Daichi blinked a few times as this stuff covered around him. All of a sudden he started coughing and choking. When it cleared all he could see was Kenta and he frowned. His head moved quickly from side to side as he looked for Shinobu. "But…" Where are they taking her. He didn't want to use the gates now…he needed it for when he had to fight people again. So all he could do was look.

After a few moments, Kenta would notice that the fleeing kidnappers were heading towards the south and east. Still towards the Land of Tea. They were weaving back and forth, though, trying to make it harder for the medic to find them. One of them suddenly stopped, too, while the other continued to move on. Kenta would note that the one still moving had something else attached… Implying Shinobu is still being moved.
Kenta's eyes narrow. "This way! I think they're traveling underground! They're still trying to reach the Land of Tea," he exclaims. He starts running in the direction that the kidnappers are going. South and east. "Daichi, we have to be care. These shinobi are very powerful. If something happens to me, I want you travel back to Konoha as quickly as you can and get help. You won't be able to do anything for Shinobu-chan alone."

Daichi followed, but he seemed like he was already giving up in a way. Kentas words didn't help the situation. It just showed that(for good reason)not even Kenta thought he could do anything. He couldn't even save Shinobu……but he had to try. "Kenta… I can't just let them take her… The least I could do is keep following them or something to keep an eye on them. I just.." He was falling behind as it was, and he just sighed.

All the exertion and the massive chakra usage is beginning to have a toil on Kenta. The young man's forehead is beading with sweat and his breath begins to catch as he races to catch up to the kidnappers. "If you get captured or die trying to follow them, -no- one will be able to help Shinobu-chan." He launches forward with renewed speed. «Try to keep up, but I can't wait for you.» Kenta sends through the link as Daichi begins to seriously lag behind.

Daichi was trying his hardest to keep up. He wondered if the gates would help him move quicker… Could he get to Shinobu and save her with that? Could he…. He could try.. Yeah… he was going to open the first one at least… Would that give him the speed he needed. Well probably not, but it was worth a shot. "Kenta… I won't fall behind… I won't let you or Shinobu down." He says to no one but himself.

As Daichi and Kenta suddenly pick up the pace, the one who stopped would shoot out of the ground. A sudden barrage of earth/mud would shoot up to try and drown Kenta while the person used a kick and punch to try and drive Daichi away from Shinobu's captor. Said captor was still moving, but not as quickly. He used a lot of high-level techniques earlier, and it was wearing on him.

Kenta pops a small red pill into his mouth as they start to catch up to the fleeing kidnappers. A bit of molded chakra dissolves the pill inside his stomach and turns it into a reservoir of potent poisons. He follows up with a white pill and a black pill. Each of them form a different reserve inside Kenta's body. But the poison will be kept for the one that actually has Shinobu.
When mud shoots out of the ground, Kenta immediately wraps himself in a skintight seal barrier. The mud slams into him, but the force of all those tons of water and earth is absorbed and deflected away, so that Kenta's body slices right through the streams of mud like a bullet. He pauses long enough to slash a chakra scalpel enshrouded his hand at his attacker, but continues moving along immediately afterwards. Hopefully, he injures their attacker enough that Daichi can make quick work of the enemy shinobi. «Daichi, the one with Shinobu-chan is more important. If you can't take that one down, keep following me instead.»

Daichi didn't hesitate to flip over the attacks. Eremi wasn't wrong… the gate…makes him feel so much quicker..so much stronger. So much so that he was ready to end this first guy quickly once Kenta hit him with the scalpel…hopefully hit. Daichi would then flicker from view only to appear under him. From there he kicked upwards and into his jaw which sent him(hopefully) flying into the air. Daichi would then shadow him once more trying this trick before aiming a kick and calling out. "Leaf Great Whirlwind." And he would hopefully send him crashing down hard into the ground below.

Scary chakra scalpel! O.o; The man avoids that quickly, using chakra to fuel his leap away from Kenta. Only for the man to run into Daichi's kick that would send him into the air. He was in a bit of shock as he just stared at the sky above him, and then he was kicked into the ground, something cracking audibly. A decent-sized crater appears when the smoke and dust clears, revealing a dead man on the ground.

«Good job» Kenta tells Daichi over the telepathic link. He sends out a few more pulses of medical chakra to determine where the last kidnapper is. Nothing. «We have to force them above ground. Be prepared to get Shinobu-chan away from the kidnapper if I manage to do that.» Kenta slows down slightly, but that's because he needs to draw in a deep breath. The young man makes several hand seals and expel the air out again at great speed. Since he doesn't know where exactly the kidnapper is, he has to guess at the target. Piercing wind bullets blow from his mouth to blast into the ground. They probably won't penetrate too deeply, but that might be enough to force the kidnapper out without injuring Shinobu badly.

Daichi didn't reply and as he landed he was already feeling some side effects of the gates, but not enough to stop him yet from worrying. He just moved to keep up and was ready to save Shinobu. Honestly if he could get her away and leave he would, but he knew Kenta may need some help as well… He would need to try and help. He couldn't attack if the guy didn't come out so he simply waited for now and was ready to strike….and also ready to do more if it came to it.

The wide-spread bullets of wind struck the intended target, yes. But it also hit Shinobu a few times, injuring the girl enough that she'd wake from the pain and then pass out because of the same pain. The man beneath the ground is forced to resurface for a lack of chakra, bleeding in a number of places and looking quite dirtied as well. but he doesn't quite give in at the moment. Two arms of earth would shoot out at Kenta to try and grab the medic, as the man believes Daichi isn't much of a threat currently.

It's too bad that Shinobu got injured, but most worse can happen if the kidnapper succeeds in getting her away and there -is- a medic around. Now, there's a chance to save her. When the earthen arms shoot out at him, Kenta sends two tag-wrapped kunai flying. The tags create walls of chakra that the earthen arms shatter against. "Stop right there and let Shinobu-chan go!" Kenta exclaims. He enforces the command by weaving the seals for the Mind Body Switch jutsu and attempting to take over the enemy's mind. The medic-nin stands there, face rigid with concentration as he puts everything he has into the compulsion.

Daichi wanted to hurt him a bit for taking Shinobu, so when he saw he was frozen he didn't hesitate to give him the same treatment as his friend from before. Him being frozen though mean he didn't have to kick him into the air. So all Daichi did was charge him quickly and send two leaf great whirlwind barrages to his chest and head to quickly send him flying elsewhere. Upon landing he would be next to Shinobu and was already moving to pick her up and into his arms so he could get out of there.

The kidnapper wasn't expecting the medic to also be a Yamanaka. He had very little defenses against someone trying to take over his mind, and his whole body was frozen in place. He strained a bit against the mental binds, but it wasn't enough to free himself, and he ended up getting struck down by Daichi, the solid kicks knocking his head back and snapping his spine somehow o.o;; Well, guess he wasn't all that strong in the end?
Shinobu was bleeding pretty badly from Kenta's earlier attacks, and there was a bump on her head and on her arms where she hit the ground. Other than that, she was okay… Just unconscious.

Kenta didn't have to use the poisons that he swallowed so far. That's a good thing, because using those jutsu require a lot of chakra, but he still needs to expel it later. For now, he keeps the reserves inside his body just in case. Kenta jogs over to Shinobu and immediately begins to heal her. "We're bringing her back to the cart immediately. We can't just abort this mission, so we can't turn around to head back to Konoha. Ummm… but we can send Kame-chan to get backup while we continue on our way -slowly-," Kenta explains to Daichi. As soon as he finishes with the healing, he gestures for Daichi to follow him and make their way back to the cart as quickly as possible.

COMBAT: Kenta heals Shinobu for 1599 with CHAKRA SCALPEL.

Daichi just nods in agreement with everything Kenta says as he wanted to get Shinobu out of here and to safety. He then quickly made his way to the cart with probably a few body flickers thrown in there to assist in his speed as he wanted to make sure they were good. Considering he thought he saw Kame try to follow them(poor dog…if only she wasn't so tiny)he looked for her on the way back and would probably sweep her up and into Shinobu's lap as he held both of them on the journey back to the cart.

Kame was chasing after the group, but she kept getting left behind D: The pup just sort of sat down next to the first dead body and waited for her friends to catch up, whining faintly. And then Daichi came to the rescue, picking up the black labrador and carrying her back to the cart. The journey itself would take much longer due to the slowed pace, but they would get to the Land of Tea without further issue.
Long after the team of Leaf-nin disappeared, someone would appear by the dead bodies and dispose of each if Kenta did nothing. "Looks like this'll be harder than the last time… I shouldn't have sent anyone after her, either…" he grumbles to himself after he stores the bodies away into a scroll and fixes the terrain so it looks like nothing happened.
