"Hige's Healing: Chakra Training Begins!"
Konohagakure
A few days had passed before Hige had sent a kindly worded note for Atsuro to come help him train if he had time. The boy had made himself comfortable here in the training yard once again though he looks dead tired at the moment with his legs crossed beneath him. He has a scroll rolled out in front of him with complex seals on it. Konsho is nearby looking a little worried as he lays on the ground and watches Hige.
From the south entrance comes the sound of small rocks shifting and scraping against one another. Atsuro and Taizen are approaching, walking across the rocky ground to where Hige and Konsho's scent is coming from. "This area is sure getting a lot of action lately," says Atsuro once they're in comfortable speaking range. Taizen woofs in greeting as they stop a short distance from Hige. Atsuro looks down at the scroll. "What's all this about?" he asks.
"Well it does need to get some attention, doesn't it. It's gotten less since you started getting angry at people for breaking rocks," Hige says with a tired smirk as he looks up at Atsuro. "Hey, thanks for coming you two. I, uh, have a favor to ask you both." He holds up a hand to forestall any questions as he adds, "Before you ask, no you won't have to break a sweat or worry about your pretty figure."
"Started?" Atsuro repeats. "I've /always/ been angry at people for breaking rocks." He waits intently for Hige to say exactly what it is he needs, but instead ends up rolling his eyes intently, exaggerating the gesture to a ridiculous degree. "I figured you needed a favour," he says, "And you realize it would have been easier to just tell me what the favour is, rather than telling me how vain I am or whatever?" He folds his arms. "So, what boon shall I grant you?"
"Need I remind you that you broke some rocks the other day in showing me those attacks?" Hige asks, his tone a bit dry. "If I don't remind you of how vain you are you might just forget, and we don't want that to happen." Hige takes a deep breath as he motions to the scroll in front of him. "Remember when I told you that Kenta was helping me with my messed up chakra network? Well he finished and now I need to practice and train for a while to get it flowing completely naturally again. This scroll requires a very precise and constant chakra flow without any bumps to use. It doesn't do anything besides light up when it works but…anyways! Since it's still kind of raw I guess I might burn through quickly and…pass out. So I just kind of need you guys to keep an eye on me and talk some wisdom to me when I need it."
Atsuro grins. "Not en masse," he says, "If people keep their rock-destroying to a reasonable level, then that's no problem." He waves a hand dismissively. "I know how vain I am at all times," he says, "Moreso than a /lot/ of other people, lemme tell you." As Hige explains what they're doing here, he nods and sits down on a handy boulder. "Okay," he says, "I don't know what kind of wisdom you think I have about chakra, but sure. I can teach you /life/ wisdom." Taizen lies down nearby.
"You can tell me if part of the seal is not lighting up, or if part is brighter than the rest. IT means I'm doing something wrong. And…well, since I'll be focusing as much as I can I'm going to have my eyes closed. I haven't really channeled much since we finished so…I don't know what might happen anyways," Hige explains to Atsuro with a sigh. Really he was supposed to give it a few more days before he tried but everyone knows Hige is impatient.
"I was sorta hoping I could just nap," says Atsuro, "But I guess watching a scroll will be nearly as restful." He leans back on the boulder, shifting around a little bit until he's in a comfortable position. "'Haven't channeled much?'" he repeats, "And you're worried that something might happen to you? Much as I appreciate the implied trust, it's starting to sound a little bit like you should have a mednin doing this. They'd probably have better wisdom too. About chakra, I mean."
Hige shrugs lightly at Atsuro as he talks about having a med nin present instead of himself. "Not much they'd be able to do. If I wear myself out you can carry me home just as easy as someone else could. Plus, you're more observant than any med nin. So you'll just have to deal with it." Hige smirks up at Atsuro. "And as for your nap…don't you sleep enough?" As he speaks the boy places his hand inside the two circles on the scroll as he prepares.
Raising a brow, Atsuro asks, "If you wear yourself out, shouldn't you get medical attention? You just said you're not sure how all this is going to work out. Plus, I /don't/ know that much about chakra. I do some ninjutsu and I use the Inuzuka techniques, but so far as chakra control goes, that puts me at normal." When told he's more observant, he snorts. "And it's really paid for itself." He looks down at the scroll as Hige begins. "Not lately. Someone keeps asking me to come out and help them train at the crack of dawn."

"Oh boo hoo, you're making yourself just sound older /ojii/," Hige points out, glancing sideways at Atsuro with a faint grin before he looks back to the scroll and prepares himself. His eyes close as his hands go in the circles on the scroll and…well, at first nothing happens. But then, after a few more moments the scroll starts to glow blue, pulsating lightly at first before slowly starting to even out. There are a few parts that seem dimmer than the rest however, likely meaning that part of his body isn't regulating the chakra correctly at the moment.
"Oh no," says Atsuro dully, "You mean like twenty-seven?" He crosses his legs and settles as best as he can onto the surface of the rock. He stays quiet as Hige starts to focus, and watches the scroll, just like he's been told. When it becomes apparent that parts of the scroll are dimmer, he speaks up. "That bit and that bit aren't lighting up as much," he says, pointing towards the two areas. Once Hige's opened his eyes, of course.
Hige cracks open an eye when Atsuro mentions parts that aren't glowing correctly and he hmms softly to himself before he closes his eye once more and focuses the chakra on through the point of his body the symbol resembles. One spot brightens to match the rest followed shortly by the second one, leaving the entire scroll glowing a steady blue at the moment. "Kenta said that some of the more damaged ones he fixed will need a little extra exercise to work normally…thus this exercise," Hige explains in a somewhat distracted tone as he focuses to the best of his ability.
Though he glances up at Hige for a moment as the younger man opens his eyes, Atsuro follows his eyes down to the scroll again. He stays silent as the remainder begins to light up, only speaking when Hige explains. "And you're going to just keep them steady now?" he asks. His eyes continue to flick around the scroll. "They still all look pretty even," he says, wondering how long he's expected to stare at a scroll for.
"Alright…" Hige says before he starts channeling more chakra into it. "I'm going to push it until it goes from blue to green, then I'm going to hold that as long as I can. Just let me know if anything goes dimmer again or if parts turn green and other parts don't. Other than that…just relax." Once Hige explains the process to Atsuro the teen falls silent and starts pushing again, the many lines on the scroll starting to glow brighter blue. A different spot this time doesn't brighten quite the same as the others…
"There are multiple colours? How many?" Atsuro mentally adjusts his estimate of the time he's spending here upwards. Good thing he had a big breakfast. "Go ahead," he says, leaning forward slightly to look more closely at the scroll. "They're not green yet," he says, "Just brighter blue. Except for this one spot." He points down to the area that isn't as bright as the others. Just relax indeed.
"Just to green this time. I do any more than that and Kenta will kill me," Hige replies before cracking his eye open again to see where Atsuro is pointing, then closing his eyes and again fixing it, making that part change back to match the rest. As he continues to pump the scroll full of chakra, much more than a personal normally uses at any one time even, the lines all flare bright blue for a few seconds before it settles into a bright green. The green isn't overly bright but it seems to still hold more within it than the blue had at it's brightest. At least everything shifted at one time!
"I think it's more likely that he'll strap you to a bed and keep you overnight for observation," Atsuro says. He looks down at the scroll again, staying quiet as it changes colour. Once it seems to have reached equilibrium, he says, "It's all even. A bit dim, though. Is it supposed to be brighter than that? Were you supposed to get up to a brighter level today?"
Hige grits his teeth as he pushes chakra through the scroll, the green wavering a bit before again steadying. "Well, actually," Hige admits through clenched teeth, "I was supposed to wait another day before doing this. But I was getting tired of waiting." Yeah, Hige doesn't wait. Everyone should know better than that! "Is it all still even?"
"It's steady now." Atsuro looks up at Hige. "You're not even supposed to be doing this?" he asks, "So you're not worried about how Kenta will react about doing this thing he told you not to do, but doing it /too much/, now that's the risky thing?" He sighs and shakes his head. "Hoo boy. Yes, you've actually made me say 'hoo boy.' Congratulations, I guess."
Hige can't help but give Atsuro a tired grin as he continues to push the chakra through the scroll. After nearly five minutes of Hige pushing it to green and using up most of his chakra, the boy finally pulls his hands away and lets out a tired sigh, opening his eyes to rub at them with his hands. "Wow, that thing really does take a lot to get it going. I feel like I just got finished with a huge battle." Yep, he skips right over the whole 'not supposed to be doing it' thing.
"A huge battle you were instructed not to fight?" Atsuro asks drily. Clearly that five minutes hasn't done a whole lot for his mood. He uncrosses his legs and gets off the rock. "Hooookay," he says in a half-sigh, "So are we done for today? Are you going to need me again? If yes, can we do it somewhere there's music or food or something?" He holds up a hand. "I know you're going to say it would be a distraction, but let me remind you that focusing is all about dealing with distractions."
Hige just sighs and shakes his head at Atsuro. "Yeah, well, it didn't backfire like they said it could so at least there's that, right?" The boy rolls up the scroll before he stands to stretch. It may not have been long, but he went through a lot of chakra in that short time! "How about I just bring you a gourmet meal next time, hmm?" Hige asks with a smirk as he looks over to Atsuro, stuffing the scroll back in a pouch. "Once I get it all to feel natural I'll be fine. It's just going to take a few days…maybe a week."
"Unless you die in the middle of the night," Atsuro points out, doing some stretching himself—sitting on a rock sure makes you feel stiff. "Have a good sleep," he adds in a sing-songy voice. His face very quickly turns serious as Hige makes that offer though. "What would you consider to be a gourmet meal?" he asks with purposeful casualness. "And how many days of this week will you be willing to bring them?"
"Why don't you make me a list of what you want, and at least a few more days." Hige yawns widely as Konsho comes over and the boy does something he rarely does with the large dog. He hops up on his back for a ride back home. "Just leave it on my door and I'll bring it," Hige says tiredly. He gives Atsuro a wave then and Konsho barks a goodbye before the pup turns and takes off with Hige to take him home.
