"Hunted Hunter, the Trap is Sprung"
Land of Earth
In every village, the threat of bandits and thieves is high. That is why the Shinobi village sends patrols out, of course. Of course, just because patrols are getting sent out doesn't mean things are going to go well for the nation… Today's patrol involved Akio being escorted by a few Chuunin NPCs. Not to guard him, no, but to ensure success. A single genin is a good match for a bandit, but Iwagakure isn't inclined to let their genin die (easily). Murasame Rika was no longer suffering from a broken leg, so she opted to take the genin out for a bit. The woman wore a half-mask and traditional shinobi attire, though no weapons adorned her body today. Perhaps that is just one signal of her being a ninjutsuist. The woman is at the gates, waiting for the other Murasame…
Akio moved quickly to the gates for this mission. Being a patrol it was hopefully something he could enjoy well enough. It wasn't long before he would get there and greet the Murasame he saw. Wasn't that the woman he saw from before. The one he helped who also happened to possibly be Kaneko's mother. "Hey. So just a simple patrol is what we are going to be doing?"
Rika offers a nod. "Along Circuit 120. The place we're most likely to encounter bandits would be the mountain pass. They like to sit and wait for any victim since the terrain is, for them, a major advantage. Until then, it should be fairly straightforward." Rika starts moving at a steady pace so that they can get the patrol done quickly and maybe even before the sun sets. It's already noon, and the days were getting shorter. "Any questions?" she then asks.
Akio would follow and shake his head slowly. "I don't think I have any questions about the mission no." Though any questions he may have for her would be things that can wait until later when they are not on the mission. That way they don't have to worry too much about getting distracted.

"Good! Very bright, at least." Rika would continue onwards in silence, keeping a steady pulse of chakra through the ground so that she could check on things up ahead. "Only wildlife so far… We might be lucky this time around and not have to worry about anything…" That would certainly be nice… The Murasame would glance back to Akio and ask, "What do you know so far? Technique-wise. If we get into trouble, I want to know what to expect of those I work with. Underestimation is just as bad as overestimation, but I'd rather never do the latter." She frowns as she recalls just why she was recovering from a broken leg in the first place, but the frown doesn't last long.
Akio looks at Rika for a moment. "Well. My skills that I know would involve our clans skills overall. I know one metal technique that I was taught early on, and it used to drain a lot from me, but after much practice it isn't too hard. Branching Metal Binds. And then I can use the earth replacement which most people have resorted to calling crumble and a few fire techniques. Sear and Comet. I can also sense things through the earth." In which he does right at that moment send chakra to do it.

Rika listens and nods slowly. "I see… So you're more of a ninjutsuist." She falls silent as she tries to listen to the tremors along the earth, but she doesn't get much feedback from the stones around them. That could be good, or it could be bad. "Let's just be a bit-" She breaks off when there's a sudden 'bounce' along the rocks. She can tell that the ground is shaking up ahead, and Akio would be able to feel it too. "That's coming from the beginning of the pass… And here I thought we'd be bored…" She glances to Akio, then. "Keep up," she says simply before she starts running. The pass, at this pace, was only five minutes away.
Akio does have a little trouble keeping up, but it isn't too bad. "What should I do when we arrive? Just follow your lead?" He would do that if nothing was said, but one thing was certain. he would ready his chakra right now before he ended up in a situation where he didn't have any ready.

The sight that greets the pair is one that is fairly common, yet not at all pleasant. A poacher had decided to try and catch himself some critters, and today's trap just so happened to catch a bear. Not wanting to put himself in harm's way, the man had used a long bullwhip to try and punish the huge bear, which caused quite a bit of ruckus. The bear itself was rising on its back legs and trying to smash the rather small-looking cuter with its forepaws, though the man was out of reach.
Rika would tell Akio nothing until they actually were able to see what was going on. "Akio-san, I need you to work on freeing the bear. It's in pain, so it might lash out at you, though. So be careful. I'll deal with the poacher…" Her grey eyes were hard with anger, and she was quick to make a handseal so that her own binds of metal would seek to trap the trapper…

Akio didn't want to make the bear uncomfortable or harm it more, but something needed to hold it still. Before moving over there he would try to bind up the bear and then quickly move that way. Once he knew it was safe to move further he would work to get off. Hopefully it wouldn't struggle too much. Maybe he could make it quick if he just used this sword to cut the rope. Which he would try if he could. Hopefully it would snap and not hurt the bear more.

The poacher was hardly expecting any resistance, so when Rika suddenly had her metal binds shoot up from the ground, the most she got from him is a small hop. And then he was caught… The man frowns, unable to use his weapon of choice because the bindings snaked upwards to wrap around his whole frame.
Rika's gaze is cold from anger, and she makes her way over to the now-trapped poacher. He had failed to avoid her metal, and he was gonna pay for this as soon as she managed to force him to spit out the truth. "Is there a reason why this bear is stuck in this trap? And whose trap is this, and why does it seem you are tormenting the creature?" the Murasame asks in a low tone with barely concealed anger.
Akio wouldn't really be able to get close to the bear. It was moving around too much and managed to avoid getting entangled in anymore 'traps'. Since Akio is starting to move closer to it, it lashes out with its forepaws, trying to come crashing down onto the younger Murasame and pummel him to the ground in a rather slow strike from above. Akin never even got the chance to cut the rope D:

Akio was hit but luckily before he was squished he was able to break apart and get away. He didn't want to be bad at this, and glancing back at Rika he frowned. This was something he had to do. He had to prove himself as a Murasame. With her being someone that will probably judge him, but at least judge him fairly he thinks at least. Then he turns back to the bear and increasing his concentration he would move to trap the bear and then cut the rope…hopefully it would work this time…unlikely but a boy could hope.

The man rolled his eyes a bit. "I dun have t' answer t' yew," he mutters, though there is suddenly a spike of metal at his throat. He can't help but gulp a bit and say, "'s mine, 'course… Nuthin' wrong wi' a bi' o' huntin', righ'?" Of course, the whip in his hand was meant more for cruelty, and he had very little regret when it came to actually trapping that critter.
Rika shook her head a bit and lowered the spike. "Well, you can't really stay here, it seems…" And then she notices Akio managed to get the bear free, and now the creature was straining at its new binds. The woman is quick to start tying up the poacher, and she makes it so that he would be able to walk, but not run. "You're coming with us to the next village." Then she drags him off to the side so he can't run away before going to check on Akio.
The trap was pretty durable against a bear, but after a few strikes from Akio, it eventually broke down. The wire was still deeply embedded in the bear's paw, but at least the bear wouldn't feel like his leg was being cut off.
Akio frowned as he watched the bear for a moment. "Ummm… Should I try to get the wire out of the bears paw? Or should we just walk a bit and me drop the metal binds? I don't want it to get worse." If Rika told him he could or should then he would do so quickly before looking to her again. "So we taking the poacher with is then?" If they began to leave he would drop the binds when he felt that they were safely away from the bear. He seems to be thinking and looks up at Rike. "Is that a common thing? Trapping animals so cruely?"

Rika would add her own binds on top of Akio's, then gesture for the younger Murasame to get closer to the bear. "We should get that thing off. If you know any first aid, I'm sure it would help. Otherwise I can try and wrap some herbs around the injury. It won't do much, but I'd rather not use actual medicine on the bear, and bandages would … Well, it's less than great." She would wait for Akio to do his tasks, then move in to do her own. With all that done, they could make their way onwards.
"In two minutes, the jutsu should be released. The bear will be able to free itself normally, so we don't need to do anything but lower the binds so it can move and break out. The nearest village is two miles away. I'll carry this lug, so we'll end up getting to the village in 20 minutes."
Akio follows along nodding slowly to Rika. "Sounds good then. Was a simple mission all and all, but really. I don't see why that man would torture the bear. What reason would he have for it, and what does he gain from doing it?" He glares at the man they have captured. "I am glad we caught him, so that he can get punished for that." He then turns to face the area in front of him and just in case this poacher was not alone would send another blast of chakra into the ground. Hopefully that was the last they had to deal with.

The rest of the mission would see nothing else wrong.. The man would be dropped off at the next village and the local council of that village could deal with him how they felt. The return trip was nowhere near as exciting as the trip out, which is probably just as well. The duo reach Iwa's gates about an hour before sunset. "Good job today, Akio-san. I'll be sure to file the report." With that, she offers a bow, then makes her way to the Kage's administration building.
