Summary:
Continuing Hanpa's experiments with pushing himself and his knowledge in order to re-obtain Shadow Clones, Kaede offers to put it all to the test while reminiscing about how they first met and what is to come.

The training with Zetto far earlier in the day had allowed for Hanpa to work on a theory and expand upon it immensely, even to field test it a bit thanks to Zetto volunteering. Now Hanpa had to push it further… primarily by not harnessing the power of the master seal. This would be what truly allows him to break through his body's road blocks if he was able to handle it. He needed to make his own body use and maintain the chakra necessary to maintain the puppeted clone. Thus for the rest of the day, he had been cultivating his chakra and one clone at a time, perfecting his method of tethering chakra to it through chakra shaping. He then would perfect both his ability to make it respond as well as his own mobility so that he did not have to sit still and concentrate on it so much. He practiced having the single clone pick up objects and hand them to him, adjusting the chakra flow, frequency, and amount to maintain stability through the tether. At the end of it all, it seems that he was able to keep it stable for hours, and could allow for it to do simple tasks as he moved around the Master Seal freely now. Though the chakra tether was so pronounced and powerful that it was clearly visible to all.
Moving into the training room was Kaede. His mannerism, and gait, were always the same. Though he appeared defenseless, one could not ignore the air he exuded. One of danger, like a coiled snake, ready to spring. There was an air of arrogance in that as well. Long ago, Kaede was barred from training in closed rooms- his techniques were all based around the purpose of mass destruction. But that was a long time ago- now, Kaede, much like Rain, has to slowly come into the power he previously held. It is there he meets his Liege.
"Greetings, my lord." Kaede said, as he looked towards the clone. "You seem hard at work, for a technique you used rarely, as far as I remember."
"This is true… I rarely had use of it before. But as you are aware, times have changed. I didn't have much use for a mask before either." Hanpa would remind Kaede of that much. "This technique, like all others, is a tool, and if used properly… it will allow for me to do more than I can at the moment. But my main concern… is using it to train this body. To explore the depth of my jutsu individually or simultaneously. It will be invaluable in me pushing my limits in the future… even though the experiences themselves will merely be repeated." Hanpa would explain "It will also allow for me to train the others without true harm coming to them. While they should be ready and prepared for danger and even death… we cannot afford to be injured for long periods of time. When Haruna is on her trips away, this will keep injury to a minimum."
"You want to try it out then?" Kaede inquires as he moves to the side of the room, glancing around it for a moment, before looking back to Rain. "Times have indeed changed, but some things never do." He said, tilting his head to his side. "Do you remember when we first met?"
"I will have to test this out at some point yes. See if it will synch up with my thoughts in real time or if there is still a delay. While a shadow clone does not function that way… it will not have to. This is the best I can do with such a fabrication I think." Hanpa would admit. Thus his Pseudo Clone as it were would seem to leap away some distance before checking its balance and finger dexterity with a couple of prestidigeous cantrips of lightning, fire, and wind. "What did you have in mind?" Hanpa would ask of Kaede then.
"Just a spar, really. I have to perfect some of my own techniques, as well." Kaede replies, as he balls his hand into a fist, causing the bones to pop a bit. "But the first time we met, it wasn't such a different situation, as it is now. You had your Sharingan, and your jutsu, and I had a tiny bit of my crystal style techniques."
"I do recall actually yes. You were … a bit misdirected. I think you refused to listen until someone defeated you. I took the time to speak to you while we fought at that level… to try to get you to understand my words. And in the end, I think you did. You decided that you would come with me form that point on… and here we are… shadows of that moment and beyond." Hanpa would chuckle a bit at the memory. "I do not believe I have anything more about your own jutsu or way I can teach or guide you down… but I can certainly sweat, bleed, and crawl through the mud with you back to where we belong… if you are willing to accept that."
Kaede chuckles. "Indeed, I was a lot different back then. And you are right. I didn't listen." He ponders. "When we created the villages, we were supposed to gain techniques with age. Wisdom and strength through unity." He says, as he presses his hands together, focusing his chakra. "But here we are. We gained our techniques and wisdom through battle. And with age, we are only getting weaker. I don't think that's a bad thing. But there's a limit to how little power we can wield. Without strength, we are just tiny pebbles."
He then motions to Rain, a hand gesture for a fair fight.

"Pebbles… hm…. I prefer to be the entire pond, allowing the pebbles to have their ripples every now and then." Hanpa would quip, smirking a bit behind his mask. His chakra would surge through him, climbing up to levels that were closer to a Bijuu than anything resembling a human being. "This time… I do not have my jutsu. Ironically, the things that I fought for with real experience that should never have been able to be taken away from me… are. And it is not because of age…" Hanpa stated as his clone spread his arms out a bit, leaning forward in a readied stance, "…it is because of youth. This body is not adequate to handle the role of a pond. I am hoping however that perhaps a puddle will do for the time being."

Kaede shakes his head. "Techniques are, as you said, merely tools." He says, as he taps his head. "The experience we have will never go away." He stares at the mask and then nods his head, "Not gonna use the sharingan then?" He asks, but before giving Rain a chance to reply, he is already making handseals, opening the spar with a simple earth spire, followed by another one.

The clone would spring in to action, manuvering around, over, and beside the spires of earth that erupted from the ground. The chamber was protected by many layers of barriers and absorbing seals, thus no permanent damage could be done even when utilizing earth. This area was designed for extremely heavy duty training, and it may just be put to the test with Kaede around. The Pseudo clone would rush towards Kaede. Hanpa was aware that Kaede likely wasn't going to gather too much chakra even though he was a ninjutsuist simply because he knew his opponent. Thus Hanpa-clone would not be focusing entirely on stamina draining techniques. Instead, the sword was drawn from beneath the flowing cloak in an under hand swipe that swiftly twirled Hanpa around, his free hand already finished with what ever seal he planned to use as a spray of lightning balls would close the short gap between the clone and Kaede.

The kind of mindgame that goes between Rain and Kaede is, without a doubt, staggering. Considering the low level techniques they are throwing at each other, compared to the mind games, is heaven and earth. To Kaede, focusing a lot of chakra is dangerous, because his opponent can tire him out easily- on the other hand, Hanpa's elemental jutsu will get overcome by Kaede's crystal style, simply on merit of elemental superiority, possibly forcing his opponent into Taijutsu battle— a dangerous prospect against Kaede.
"Seems your clone is doing fairly well." Kaede says, as both of Rain's attacks land on Kaede's not-so-shadow clones. Off to the side, Kaede finishes his hand seals, and makes a gesture with his hand, sending the earth spires bursting into a dirt cloud that gathers overhead— then shrapnel begins raining down on the clone, followed by an Earth Spire, coming through the wall, behind Rain himself.

The clone is quite responsive indeed, able to even deflect and redirect some of the raining earth back towards Kaede with several swipe of the kunai while it charged through them… only to be impaled by one of the earth spires when it is unable to ensure that Kaede is made to hesitate. This distorts the clone for a moment, heavily… but due to the tether, it actually was able to continue moving after it removed itself from the spire. "…Now that is interesting…" Hanpa would comment as the strategic duel would continue. Leaping in to the air, the psuedo-clone would launch down a small, compact ball of flame that would suddenly explode in to a napalm like substance, attempting to blanket Kaede in fire. Luckily the mask didn't need to be removed. Though another hand seal would compell Kaede to fall to a knee as a follow up touch based blast of lightning would try to be landed upon his shoulder.

The explosion and debris is absorbed by a barrier made of earth; however, Hanpa's genjutsu still holds sway against Kaede. Even without his Sharingan, Rain was proficient in Genjutsu. Well, Kaede thought, it was time to pick it up a notch, if Genjutsu is on the field. Of course, the fact that Kaede was susceptible to it, means that the lightning touch is succesful, and gives him a good jolt and wake up call.
He performs several handseals and intones: "Amenonuhoko."
As if commanded to do so by a higher will, the ground and ceiling erupts into dual spears without any warning or hesitation.

Nothing was going to stop those two spears from pincering in on the Pseudo Clone, and while it made a valiant effort to dissuade Kaede from being wholey accurate with it, it seemed that the gods had spoken. The clone remained pinned, skewered from two ends, between the crystaline structure. The clone would, with it's last energies, seek to cause Kaede pain through the one attack that landed on him. Nothing damaging, but something that if he had not prepared to take prior he would possibly be in trouble from if they all land. The surge of lightning that went through him and the internal an external damage would be emphasized, trying to make all of the nerves ache with renewed, fresh pain.

The genjutsu accented attack definitely works wonders against Kaede as he spasms, as if struck by lightning again— but at this level, it doesn't seem to do more than just focus him even more to the task at hand. But as the clone puffs out of existance, Kaede lowers his guard. By the looks of him, he had something prepared, but with the spar over, there was no need for it.
"The clone seems a little bit on the slow side, but I can definitely see merit to them if you had more." Kaede explains.

RP: Kaede leaves the roleplay.
"Yes.. the tethering does slow it down, even when it can receive my thoughts directly. And … it seems that maintaining it through your attacks drains me quite quickly… my chakra is basically used to keep it stable, and the more damage it takes the more chakra I use to keep it in existence. It is.. far too risky to be used in true combat. It would only be a liability. However… I do think that this experiment has helped me control my chakra and expand my pathways significantly." Hanpa stated, his sharingan likely quieted as the clone didn't have any limitation such as the mask getting in the way but he himself does. "That was still a bit nostalgic… even though the ending was reversed." Hanpa would chuckle lightly at that.
"Yeah, but you still have only one tomoe in your other eye. When we did this last time, you had three tomoe in each eye." Kaede reminds Rain. "I don't think the end result would've been reversed if it were the same as last time." He says, chuckling. "Besides, my techniques are all special. None of them are really for 'general use'."
"Meh… I don't like to make excuses even if they do exist. At the end of the day… I will just have to actually push myself to regain it all. And you too. I think, aside from scale… we are far closer to equal footing now than we ever have been. That should make things quite interesting… and entertaining." Hanpa considered.
Kaede ponders and nods. "Yeah, but I am a specialist. I will have my peak again, shortly, but you will outperform me soon enough." He gestures, and crystal appears in his palm. "I was blessed with the Crystal Style. It gives me superiority in ninjutsu. But you have the Sharingan. Your field of expertise is wider. You may not be able to defeat me in Ninjutsu- but Taijutsu and Genjutsu? I cannot compete."
