Land of Lightning
Within the Land of Lightning, strange disappearances have been occurring. Nobles, Lords… The Daimyo's kid. Who was doing the kidnapping? And why? They even attempted to take two of Kumogakure's highest-ranked shinobi (at least… in terms of logistics). Of course, that also means that they are the highest on the 'kidnap list' these strange folk have. Of course, being unsuccessful in some ways means that they've resorted to other methods. Namely: kidnap someone important to both of them.
The middle of the night. Whenever Sakuya goes to sleep. Someone was waiting nearby… When the Hebisuuhai shut her eyes, the strange person would wait a bit longer… And then he/she would strike out. Sakuya was stuffed in a bag, though Zuzu had the chance to escape since the snake wasn't actually accounted for. They figured it was just some weird henge Sakuya did after all those weeks of watching.
Clearly Zuzu, the nin-snake whom was born to bond with his outrageously silly nin-human, was sleeping silently underneath the bed. Usually because while he is a nin-snake, he at least has the courtesy to let his master sleep undisturbed… That, or he just isn't the kind of snake that cuddles. Nevertheless, not even he was able to sense the coming of this individual.
Sakuya was sleeping restfully. Why wouldn't she? She's not an important political figure after all. Sakuya was not wearing her kimono when she was snatched, rather, wearing the clothing she usually wears underneath. An outfit underneath the outfit of course. A sleeveless shirt, and pants short enough so that the legline is not seen from her skirt. All of her equipment, even her precious notebook, was always in her skirty-kimono. She would be taken without any sharp tools to tear her way out of a bag, even if the bag allowed for it… and without Zuzu's gentle guidance, she wouldn't be able to fight her way out of the panic to be able to do something about this. This means that when she awoke, she would be helpless. Her limited skillset not enough to help her out of this situation…
Zuzu would awake, sensing something wrong. His master was not in range of his senses. This has never happened before. The snake had never moved so fast, slithering out from under the bed and finding the house of the nearest comrade he knew could do anything… Michiko…
Michiko finds herself awakened by a snake… "Zuzu-san?" she says, sounding wide awake despite having been asleep moments before. "What's wrong?" she asks with a small frown. Once she gets the report, though, she's immediately giving out orders. "Zuzu-san, go find Yori-san. Tell him what you told me. Meet me at your home. Hai?" As she speaks, she's grabbing clothes from her closet and changing into them quickly, pulling on a sheet of armor that moulds to her body. It's likely that Zuzu is the only one to see her do that! At least for a long while. Then she's gone, disappeared into the ground and traveling swiftly to Sakuya's home to hopefully pick up the trail.
Yori was actually sleeping for once! Figures that when he's actually sleeping something would happen to wake him up from it. Of course when Zuzu comes to him he's immediately alert, grabbing his items before grabbing a Zuzu and putting the snake around his neck. Then he moves in multiple speedy bursts to get to Sakuya's home just that much quicker. His face is…neutral, not showing any emotion as he arrives.
Zuzu would likely tag along with Yori, by wrapping around his waist, just to use less energy moving around. He can feed off his partner's vitae, but without her, he's limited to his own reserves. The less he uses the better. "I'll ssstick around here." Zuzu says, hijacking Sakuya's voice as usual. Remaining with Yori, unless ordered, he would likely fight alongside him, though he is far more limited in what he can do without his nin-human around. When eveyone convenes in her house, her adoptive but loving father, Miyazani Kaku is already speaking to Michiko. The dark-toned man with his full beard is in full chunin regalia, after learning that Sakuya was taken. Right under his nose. His squinted eyes are revealed, with his usual magnifying goggles slid up his face. "Michiko-san. That's currently all I know. I ward my house nightly, It's impossible that someone just slipped by like that. I'm glad you came. You're free to look around, and take anything you think will help."
Zuzu would indeed agree, that they could use anything to try and help her. This was important…

"They're not going to last very long when I find them, Kaku-san… I'm sorry this happened," Michiko says. "Yori-san, look outside and around the house. Zuzu-san, try to pick up any scents. In Sakuya-san's bedroom. Kaku-san, can you tell me anything about your wards? Did you pick anything up from them?" Michiko builds up her chakra, gathering it before releasing it in a single pulse. Then another. A few more so that she can sense where Sakuya might be, the Iwata picking up any signs of movement that happen to be nearby.
Sakuya would be in her bag, trapped. Her hands were bound in such a way that it'd be impossible to form handseals. Her mouth had a nasty rag stuffed and taped into it, and her legs and arms were bound together to prevent movement. The voices around her were muffled, but she might eventually realize there were only two people. They were heading North and West. Being sensitive to temperature like a snake, Sakuya might also notice the weather getting windier…
Yori doesn't mind Zuzu riding along at all, only looking to Michiko and Kaku as they speak. When Michiko tells him to search around the boy does as bade and goes outside to try and find out which way the kidnapper went out and if he left anything. "Zuzu-san, can you sense where she might be at all? Even a little bit?" the boy asks as he searches, his tone just as neutral as his face at the moment.

Zuzu wishes he/she could. "They've traveled outside of my ability to communicate to her using genjutsssu. This indicates they are more than a half mile from the village at minimum at thisss point." Zuzu states. "I might be able to track a faint scent, but the wind is strong. I have been trying this entire time." Zuzu would quickly look at Sakuya's kimono, hanging up on the wall.
The wind does make scent hard, especially since she is locked away in a bag at the moment. She would struggle about inside. Hand seals impossible, she is tied up to the point that she can only wriggle around inside as if she were a snake. She attempts to yell through the gauze forced inside to no avail. Her eyes dart around as she doesn't understand what was going on. She was panicked, and needed time to work through her fears before she could even begin to attempt to think of a way out of this…

Miyazani is definitely up for a smoke right now to calm his senses. He wasn't at all concerned that Sakuya was taken. He was mostly concerned that his barrier was breached. "They're trip-wire scrolls are set off whenever someone's chakra-network intercepts the lines of chakra connecting them." The large man crosses his arms and grunts. "Upon being tripped, they release lightning clones that I have stored, that immediately attack intruders. Usually, the loud noise a clone makes when dispelled is enough to wake me." The man slams his hand against the doorframe leading into the room. "I spent years perfecting that technique! Unforgivable!"
Of course, the wiggles are noted, and Sakuya would get hard by a random fist. "Shaddap in there!" yells a rough voice, male. And then they would continue along on their journey.
Zuzu certainly wouldn't really sense anything, nope. A brief one, if anything, but he wasn't looking in the right place, either. Yori would eventually notice, through the darkness, a few footprints and scraps of cloth from the makeshift bindings.
Michiko hmms softly and nods, wincing a bit. "Please refrain from hitting anything,' she requests. Then the girl manages to get a lock on the location. "Yori-san, let's go! Tell me your findings while we travel." And then she's on the move, grabbing Zuzu if he/she/it happens to be on the ground as she passes by. Her chakra becomes nearly oppressive as she focuses it all at once.
Yori crouches carefully so as not to squish Zuzu as he looks over the footprints he'd found. The teen picks up the scrap of cloth to examine it as well, eyes hard and even a little angry. Once he hears from inside the house he stands, eyes scanning briefly before Michiko comes out and they start to move. A nod is given and Yori takes off after her. "Footprints, only one person was in the house. IT looks like another might have been waiting. And I found some cloth scraps as well which leads me to believe she might be tied up." Short and informative.
Zuzu isn't capable of panicking, but one can feel the concern welling up in him. The way he constricts around Yori obviously shows his distaste. He continues to search the air for scents…
Meanwhile, after getting punched, Sakuya remains still. Her aching side made it clear this was not a really sad practical joke, but that she was removed from the village… But why? Why her in specific? They can't ransom her back to Kumo, they'd get payment in steel if they did. She's not a rich individual. She's not a Daimyo's child either. She's just the Hebisuuhai most likely to disappear without her clan really giving too much thought into it. She only knows that somewhere out there, her team is trying to locate her…

It's not long before Michiko and Yori will likely catch up to the pair in front of them, considering how fast they are traveling. Yori even manages to overtake Michiko for a bit, though she's more trying to preserve her strength. However, the two kidnappers still have the lead…
In the time it takes for Michiko and Yori to enter within Zuzu's range of perception (for Sakuya), the two men have stopped and regrouped. There are others around, it seems… The kidnappers had reinforcements. Sakuya might just realize they've stopped moving. An ambush is being planned!
Yori moves as fast as he can, not really worried so much about saving his strength at the moment. AFter all what was the purpose in saving your strength if you never actually caught up to the kidnappers? His features remain neutral as he moves swiftly. Hopefully Zuzu is wrapped up tight so he doesn't go flying!
Zuzu is now able to communicate, but unfortunately, without Sakuya able to even move her fingers a little to focus her chakra she wouldn't be able to reply. «Sakuya, you should be thankful that I wasn't nearby when you were taken. I have brought the rest of team shield to assist. Please attempt to struggle. You're clearly not showing your devotion to the village as you are now.» The snake bites into her mind.
Clearly, Sakuya would begin to squirm a little more now. Groaning and Moaning, she was honestly going to keep calm and try to reason with these people when she had the chance. After all, she was not going to fetch a high price…
Now it's a different matter of whether this was a ploy to make some extra money, or if this was meant to attack a someone close to Sakuya. The ambush makes the true purpose convoluted…

And then the alarm is called out. Sakuya is dropped, and she would feel the thud of the ground. Well, she could wiggle all she wanted. The overseer wouldn't let her get away! In the meantime, Yori and Michiko would find themselves under a hair of kunai and shuriken, all of them thrown rather expertly. Also with a bit of wildness to make it unpredictable.
Michiko blocks all of the attacks aimed at her, even managing to deflect one of the blows for Yori with a shield of metal. "Yori-san, cover me," she requests, staying still for a moment and focusing her chakra, gathering natural energy surrounding her after making seals to summon Kimura, who arrives with a *POOF* and climbs onto Michiko's shoulder to form a fox-scarf.

Yori evades all of the kunai and shuriken, vanishing from where they're aimed to appear in front of Michiko, keeping his body between her and the baddies. Once Kimura appears Zori's eeyes focus on the bag that he assumes is where Sakuya is and he doesn't hesitate, moving past the majority of baddies in a flash before going straight for those closest to the bag, his sword coming free and slicing quickly.

Sakuya continues to struggle, almost shedding tears up when she hears combat. They came, and she can't do a damn thing to help. No matter how much she struggles, all she can do is roll off in a direction, and whenever she feels she is making good progress someone's foot stops her from rolling.
Zuzu in the meantime, attached to Yori, would be taken forward close to those holding the bag. He drops off his waist at some point, and focuses the chakra into his chromatophores to blend in with the ground. His target was clearly the person whom was keeping his human-nin from escaping. He would lunge out and attempt to bite, certainly not concerned that there might be retribution…

As Yori strikes out with his sword, the man guarding Sakuya tries to block him. Of course, he's a bit too slow and only ends up getting slashed across his legs. "Dang it, you slither!" he huffs out, even as Sakuya would likely end up tumbling out of the bag she was contained in. The man is rather quick to act, though, using his uninjured leg to kick out at Yori before punching /really/ hard at him.
Michiko takes a breath, then suddenly seems to undergo a transformation. The girl has ears and a tail, both the same color as her hair and tipped with white, now. And she seems to have an even greater aura of chakra about her. "Looks like it's time for these guys to die," she comments, forming handseals before suddenly hands made of earth shoot out to grab at the various folk that are /still/ sending knives, arrows, and jutsu at her. Yori at least was able to slip by, so technically he didn't have to deal with all that trouble.

All of the random attacks just seem to bounce off of Michiko harmlessly, at least. The girl had sent a bit of chakra through the metal she wore on her body, and it was able to take most of the attacks, stretching and shaping as needed.

Yori raises a hand to block one of the punches but the kick makes it through. In the end it only pisses Yori off however and his swords lashes it quickly at the man, lightning flowing through his sword as the blade sings loudly through the air in his attempt to pretty much take his head off.

Sakuya would roll off a distance, several yards away, and down into a ditch safely out of combat. Her fingers are still tied up, wrists bound, legs wound up in rope. She still couldn't talk. Yet there was still one individual whom could communicate to her. Her nin-snake, Zuzu. Contacting her through genjutsu, he lets her know that… «If I could actually help you, I would. Unforunately, I lack thumbs… Hands or feet, really. It's rather silly that I thought they would want you, out of anyone else in the village. Clearly they were using you, just like everyone else does.» The snake is still free, and crawling along the ground. It's chromatophore-filled cells changing color and keeping the snake low-key. An imperfect stealth, but he still manages lunge out to sink his teeth into the back of one shinobi that had just recently dodged Michiko, using his distraction to his advantage…

The ones that were grabbed? Well, all but one was able to be captured, which says something! Yori was left to his own devices, and likely because Michiko trusted him. It seems she had good reason to do so, even, as he was able to slice the guard in half quite cleanly. The opponent was very poor at blocking…
The man that Zuzu struck out at was so triumphant about avoiding Michiko that he didn't notice a certain snake slithering around. And then there's a very loud OW and a bit of hopping. Well, that's a good distraction as any, no? Michiko's gaze is on the others, though…
The Head Ninja shakes her head a bit. "I don't think any of you will ever learn… Don't mess with the shinobi of Kumogakure. /Especially/ not the ones that are on my team." As she speaks, she draws a block of metal that has a handle at the end of it. As she grips it, she draws her hand back, then lets it loose in a rather smooth motion. The metal extends, then, turning into a wide net to capture and pierce the men that were caught in her grasp. "One of you gets to live for questioning. The rest do not. Figure out who, or I'll decide for you." Her voice is, though steady, filled with a cold hatred.

Yori cares little for the remaining kidnappers as Michiko deals with them, flicking his sword to the side to free it of blood before he sheathes it and flashes over to where Sakuya went into hiding. "Hold still," he says softly, his voice and his face still neutral as he draws out a kunai to cut her bonds before quickly checking her for injuries and taking away the bruising she suffered from her trip.

Sakuya first order of business as soon as she is freed is most certainly to remove the gag. The nasty cloth put in her mouth was the worst part of the entire trip, given her sensitive 'taste of smell'. "Yori… You came." She says, as she stands up. "… I didn't doubt you would for a minute." She says, which is the most heart-felt thing she could think of, in the midst of combat. In the event that there were more to fight afterwards, she would make a handseal and beckon Zuzu to her, whom would wrap around her waist… "Thank you…"

Michiko watches the men scramble in the net, a lot of them finding their energy getting drained until they're weaker than they were before. The effects of the poison were also kicking in. "I… I'll help you…" says one, raising a hand rather weakly. His face is contorted with pain. Michiko simply nods and allows him to survive while the others all end up getting spiked to death. "You made a good choice," she tells the man, who seems about ready to pass out. "Yori-san! Sakuya-san! Are you two alright?" she asks, even as metal binds the man's hands and feet so he isn't likely to go anywhere.
Yori nods to Sakuya at her thanks, then without really seeming to think about it he hugs Sakuya tightly, glad to know she's safe. When Michiko calls to them he releases the girl and turns to look at Michiko before he nods. "We're both fine Michiko-san, thank you." Yori's eyes turn back to the man who'd been holding Sakuya hostage and ponders cutting him into smaller pieces so beasts can digest him easier…
Sakuya was truly ready to finish off any remaining enemies in the name of the village! Yet, Yori decides to instead fluster her… with… a close and warm hug. She blushes a little, her calm cool demeanor wrecked by just a simple hug. "O-oh, uhm… W-we're fine Michiko-sensei…" She clearly rubs her face with a sleeve to hide her reaction, especially since the morning seems not far off. The sun's rays are coming up over the horizon. Zuzu bites his very own partner on the shoulder. "Pay attention, Sakuya. Fool. There might be more."
Michiko raise a brow at the reaction. "Yori-san, I didn't realize you cared so much about Sakuya-san. Try not to let it get in the way of team-training, okay?" She smiles faintly, nodding faintly to Sakuya. "We're done here. We've a prisoner; and we took them out. I don't think they'll be missed anytime soon… There were a lot of them. But from here on out, we're proceeding with caution." She pauses for a moment. "Yori-san, I need you to form a team. Have them circuit around the Land of Lightning and check on our local leaders. I have a bad feeling about this…"
"There's no more," Yori says to Zuzu and Sakuya. Well not besides the one Michiko has taken hostage. His gold-brown eyes turn to Michiko and he nods slightly at her words. "Yes Michiko-san." Whether it was an answer to one or both statements is rather uncertain. Yori glances back to Sakuya, then vanishes as he makes a speedy return to the village to begin checking on the others.

Yori disappears in a flash, leaving Sakuya with Michiko. The young genin's purple eyes rest upon the bodies of the men who easily captured her. How weak was that? To be captured. Her expression fades from the initial excitement of being rescued and cared for, to a moment of feeling useless. "I want to be there when you interrogate him." She tells Michiko, in regards to the prisoner. "… I want to witness it. Any pain you have to put him through. Any techniques you use to get the truth from him." It's not a vandetta, either. "It's… not unreasonable is it? I sort of want to see what it looks like when someone cracks under pressure… I think it would help me develop something…"
Michiko glances to Sakuya as she grabs the man and starts dragging him none-too-gently back to Kumo. "Hmm… If need by, then yes. But you can only watch. Okay, Sakuya-san?" she asks the Hebisuuhai. Once she has confirmation, her tail and ears would fade, along with Kimura. "We're heading back. I need to make a report on this… And I need you to go check in with your father and look around the house for any other signs of your kidnappers."
