The narrow path continues up the mountain for some distance, sharp rocks and narrow paths up steep slopes, all dangerous. The distant roar of water can be heard as one of the few waterflows in the area is nearby. To the west, the dangerous trail continues downwards into the distance, boulders and the side of the mountain concealing its exit.
To the north, the path continues upwards, on and on towards the distant peak of the mountain. It is not quite as dangerous as before, and is nothing more then a steep and narrow path, actually covered with dirt and not rocks.
To the east of that trail, the sound of rushing water can be heard, and faint mist is floating down the trail from that direction. It is an easy walk in that direction, it is very rare because it is level, no longer an upward climb. In that direction lies another mountain, the peak rising up just short of the on to the north.

Michiko brings Yori out on patrol with her today, the two walking along the usual paths that would lead them to the western parts of the Land of Lightning. What he didn’t know what that she was intent on trying to teach him first aid, a necessary skill for all shinobi. And for that to happen, he needed to be injured. The girl hmm lightly to herself as she looks around, hoping that they run into a bear or bandit or something so that this plan would actually work. "So, do you see anything, Yori-san? I don't sense anything of note at the moment, but that's always subject to change." She peers around the area briefly, the morning light filtered only barely as clouds cover the sky. Bandits don't have anywhere to hide, so shinobi would be the ones to watch out for. Or at least very very skilled bandits.
Yori is looking around occasionally as they walk, trying to keep all of his senses open to their surroundings as they go on the patrol. Things have changed since the prison break and he doesn't get to go on patrols outside the Village as much anymore. It's weird how much he misses being outside. "I don't see anything Michiko-san." He reports as they go. "Everything seems quiet."

Michiko nods lightly, continuing along the path. Another few minutes of nothing pass, though. That was good that there was no trouble. But if there was, then she could help exterminate the cause. A double-edged sword in a way. "How about now, Yori-San?" she wonders, feeling vibrations of some timid man walking along off the main path. Yori would be able to see the glint of steel that gives away the man's location.
The young Saito does catch sight of the steel and frowns slightly. "There's someone hiding up ahead." He says softly as he tightens his hands into fists, body tensing in case the man attacks them. Regardless if he's hiding they're going to have to find out what he's up to. "I think he may have a weapon of some kind. Please be careful Michiko-san."
Michiko nods a bit. "He has the advantage of a bit of height on us, at least in terms of terrain. But his stance is poor from what I can tell…" She sighs as she thinks. "Let's see… I'll surprise him, and you Attack. Does that sound okay, Yori-San?" she asks amicably, the girl's footsteps slowing as they plan.
"Of course Michiko-san. I'm ready whenever you are." Yori says simply as he matches her pace. His eyes focus in front of him instead of on the mans location for now as he continues to move like he doesn't know the person is there.
Michiko goes unnoticed by the bandit, it seems, and she moves slowly and carefully along the ground. Of course, he looks for her, but he can't find her! He frowns but focuses on the boy, which is a mistake on his part, as he ends up suddenly getting pushed down the slope by Michiko, resulting in him landing in the path of the Saito! "Ow!" he exclaims. "The heck was that?" he grumbles, looking around before noticing Yori. "You! Gimme money!" he brandishes his sword threateningly.
There's really not much time for the man to recover. As soon as Michiko disappears he counts to five before running up the path full speed. As the man falls onto the pathway the boy is on top of him coming at the man full force with one steel covered hand. "Not today!" He informs the man as he swings.

Michiko stays back for now, wanting Yori to take down the Bandit on his own. If she came in, the Bandit would probably end up as dead as a doornail in a few seconds. So she waits and watches as the two fight. The bandit is actually moderately skilled with his sword and manages to parry Yori's attack before attempting to slash Yori with his weapon, aiming for the chest first before ducking and attempting to slash the Saito's legs.

Yori raises his arm to block the first sword strike, his sleeve pulling back automatically to avoid being cut up when metal meets metal. He jumps back away from the second slice and attempts to do the same for the low cut but it catches him enough to draw blood. The Saito lands and immediately lunges forward, throwing a kunai first before giving another swift punch, spinning quickly to bring his other arm around sideways towards the mans head.

The bandit simply moves to the side before using his sword to block Yori's attacks with his sword. He starts to slash at Yori, the same combination as before. "You're close, but no-" his voice cuts off as he begins to gloat, stopped by a river of mud that comes falling onto him thanks to Michiko. "Yori-san, knock him out now that he's stuck," Michiko calls out, wanting to finish this off.

Yori uses both arms to ward off the blows as they come in, moving away as he sees the mud coming to avoid getting trapped in it himself. Once it's in place he's moving before Michiko even says anything, raising his fist to knock him in the jaw, hopefully hard enough to put him out.

The man is pretty much stuck in place, so any attack aimed at him would hit. He ends up getting a strong hit in his jaw, sending him wheeling backwards and confused. Michiko comes in as well and does a sort of flying kick aimed at the Bandit's head, which promptly knocks him out for good. Metal bindings form around the unconscious man and she looks to Yori. "Are you hurt at all?" she asks, going to grab the bandit so she can drag him along.
With the man knocked out Yori relaxes some, though he was fairly useless again. Well, he did cause a distraction maybe. "I'm fine Michiko-san." He says, ignoring the thin trail of blood that shows through the cut in his pants and has started to soak into them. He's not one to admit when he's hurt to a superior.
Michiko shakes her head a bit, pointing to the cut on Yori's leg. "No, you're not. Here, sit down. I'll show you something useful." She points to a rock and makes Yori sit down while pulling out supplies from her medical pouch. "You should know how to treat basic wounds and prevent bad ones from getting worse. Broken legs. Minor cuts. Etcetera." She hands Yori some gauze and a tin of paste that disinfects.
Yori looks sheepish as he moves over to the rock and sits. "It's really fine Michiko-san. It's just a small cut is all." Still bleeding, and on his leg which he'll be using to walk so it won't be able to scab over well. "I don't want to waste your time." He adds a little softer before taking the things she gives him with a confused look.
Michiko points to the different things. "Gauze. It's your best friend for things like cuts and broken bones. Keep a splint held together, or wrap a wound in it. And the paste is to keep it from getting infected and will also quicken the healing process." She tears a bit of gauze from the roll. "Put the paste on the cut, then wrap the bandages around the cut to keep it protected." She hands him the strip.
Yori rolls up his pants leg and follows Michiko's instructions, trying to look like he's done this before and knows exactly what he's doing. Of course he's just kind of winging it at this point. He puts the paste on the cut with a slight wince at the feeling, then starts to slowly wrap the gauze around it, stopping part way through to look up at Michiko to see if he's doing it right.
There's not necessarily a 'wrong' way to do this. So long as the wound is covered and stays clean. "After battle, you want to treat all your injuries. It'll help you in the long run." She gets up after Yori seems to be done, going to grab the unconscious bandit again. "Let's get this guy to the nearest jail. And then we can head back to Kumo."
Yori finishes wrapping the wound and ties it off neatly before lowering the pant leg and standing, moving his leg a little to make sure the gauze will stay in place. "Thank you Michiko-san." He says softly, still sounding a bit sheepish about the waste of time he considers it was to patch him up. "Maybe you can show me some more about splints and such things later?"
Michiko nods a bit. "When we get back." She starts heading to the nearest village, which is about ten minutes away. The girl dumps the bandit, still unconscious, off at the jail. "Hmm… Alright, Yori-san. Let's get back to the village, and we can keep teaching you some basic medical skills. It's something that every shinobi should know, I think. Hiei-san thinks the same." She nods lightly, dashing off back to Kumogakure. She doesn't really slow down for Yori, aiming to see how well he travels with an injury and if he would give up on his own or something.
Yori won't slow down or give up when there's work to be done. Despite the aggravation to his leg the speed brings he says nothing as he follows behind Michiko, still watching their surroundings. He says nothing for the return trip as he focuses on the task at hand.
Michiko inwardly sighs at hearing/feeling Yori follow her diligently. She can understand his stubbornness, but it was aggravating to see someone work themselves so hard they could die… The girl waits until they return to the village before saying that Yori needs to meet her in the hospital in an hour for further training. He also had to get his leg checked over. The patrol was successful, so now it was time to deal with the after-effects.
