"Raising Life: Razing Life"

Land of Water - Fields

The Land of Water is not well-known for its farmers. It is far more known for its violent shinobi and strange experimentations that occur within seemingly every clan. However, those of the Land of Water do not solely rely on bloodshed. There are always farmers and fishers in the community, and in this particular instance, there are a number of crops that need to be tended to. Spring allowed for a number of Genin to assist in the preparing of and planting the fields, so now Summer brings in the task of watering, cutting back growth, weeding, and clearing away pests. A steady stream of students and genin actually assist in caring for the fields when they aren't busy. How fortunate for Hibiki and Kitaru today.
The overseer of this mission was the one in charge of the farm being tended to. "My name is Hazusashi Nemuri. I work hard in spite of my name, so you three better not slack off!" The man in charge was fit, though he still had a paler color to his skin that showed why the Land of Water's Hidden Village was named Kirigakure. "Today, you three will be working the fields a bit. Seeking out any weeds and pulling those up. Getting rid of pests. There are a number of slugs that like to eat the crops, as well as other nasty critters. Hmm… Also, there might be some rabbits and similar land critters. If you see any, exterminate them. We don't need them here."
Wait, three? Interestingly, a new face would join them. A young Kurogane-Doihara Sayaka. She had experience in being a farmer, and /someone/ thought that maybe she should assist in something familiar to help her adjust to her new home. As such, Sayaka was dressed in clothes that she used to wear: simple brown cloth that serves to protect the wearer rather than beautify her. The girl was there on time, and once she heard Nemuri's little spiel, she offers a quick nod before glancing to Kitaru and Hibiki to see what they plan to do.

Farming.
Kitaru briefly wonders who, exactly, he had burned off to get him assigned to this task. No matter. A mission is a mission and he would complete it as a Doihara could.
Interestingly, his 'sister' was with them as well. She was new to the family, but had quickly been given that care and attention that all of the Doihara family did. As such, Kitaru was slightly surprised she wore the clothing she did. It didn't bother him too much in the end, afterall, her choice what she wears. Kitaru stands atop the water and mud, that mix of water walking and tree walking to keep him above it all as he'd look around. "Alright. I will hunt vermin and remove them. Sister, I believe you know how to check for weeds. I request you start there and show me what needs to be pulled after my initial sweep." Kitaru looks from Sayaka to Hibiki. "What is your specialty?"

~What!? Did they just call slugs a pest! How dare they!? We shall smite them with the power of acid! Hibiki charge!~ 'No. WOuld you not get so loud. You know that they don't know you are in me right? Meaning they don't know they may be talking in the presence of a non pesty slug. Even though you can be a pest sometimes…. Anyways… They aren't talking about you. They are talking about other ones. Though in my opinion you are the more annoying one.' ~But that is my job! To annoy you enough to make you do what I want you to!~ 'That…. Nevermind.' Hibiki seemed very frustrated but most people would think it was because of the mission and the person leading it. Hibiki looked at Sayaka with a raised brow before turning to face Kitaru. "Hmmm… Doihara just forever grow. Seems your family will own the village one day. I could imagine you having one of your family becoming Daimyo one day." He said with a small shake of his head. When Kitaru speaks to him about his speciality he just sighed a bit. "Well I do think I would know what needs to be pulled or not but when it comes to actual skills of the shinobi kind.. Well I am good at ninjutsu. And ninjutsu very focused on killing." He said with no real hesitation.

Sayaka would nod quietly to Kitaru, but then she glances at Hibiki. "… If Hibiki-san knows the weeds… Then I could take care of the bugs…" she offers. She figures that might be a better idea to split the tasks into ones that each of them would be able to perform. No sense in having someone sit out, right? Everyone had their use! Regardless, once it was determined what she'd be doing, Sayaka would start moving to accomplish that task. She had yet to actually learn tree and water walking, so it made sense that she was wearing clothes that she didn't mind getting dirty. She'd feel terrible if she dirtied the nicer clothes the Doihara family supplied.
Sayaka keeps her distance from the house, and then a number of spiders would skitter down her leg and start examining the surrounding area for signs of pests. Things like slugs, snails, caterpillars, and beetles that didn't help the growth of plants in any way would be taken away by her brood for later consumption… >.>; May as well have a bit of a feast, right?

Kitaru studies Hibiki a moment, then glances to Sayaka and nods. "Agreed. You go after the smaller pest, I'll get the larger." Kitaru nods to Hibiki then. "You get the weeds.. and while my family is large, they are not actively seeking power. Simply another clan, just like any other family out there." Kitaru smiles briefly before he'd turn his attention to his work. Namely that Sphere being used to start hunting bigger animals.

Hibiki raises a brow first towards Sayaka and he would watch her a moment as Kitaru spoke. Of course after a moment he stopped and just turned to face Kitaru. "Actively aiming for power or not doesn't say you aren't still getting it. But yes I know. Don't have to tell me too much. I have studied a lot over time." He stated before simply walking to find the weeds among all the other things. Might as well get right to work and try to finish as quick as possible.

RPCOMBAT: Sayaka defends against with a SPIDER-PERCEPTION…16

Sayaka and her brood find very few bugs after a while, so they figure they should clear the area later or they have cleaned it of most bugs. With that in mind, they would continue to travel outwards. The young girl just keeps her attention to where she's stepping while she and her brood move to find any pests. Her task is simple, at least, and one she's familiar with. So it's actually nice to be doing this kind of thing.
Hibiki, as he looks, would see various smaller plants that were weeds. By this point of the summer, a lot of the plants were a lot bigger than what weeds were still around, so it's easy to tell which is which. A few of the later sprouts, though, would need to be eyed carefully before he makes any judgment. Kitaru and his sphere would run into very few animals so close to the house. They'd have to travel out further before they chance upon a rabbit nibbling at one of the plants.

RP: Kitaru transforms into SPHERE.

Kitaru does a very systematic search of the area, the Sphere missing any plants so as to not crush something incorrectly. Ranging out further, he'd spot a rabbit and with a small nod, that Sphere would suddenly launch an assault on it. If the kunai on the chain hits, it'd get reeled back in, taking weapon and rabbit into the confines of the Sphere.

Hibiki just stared a bit as everything he saw. He wouldn't be stupid with what he pulled. Wanted to make sure that he was pulling the right ones and so he would take his time to move efficiently. That meant moving sorta quick and without mistakes. Every so often he looked off to the side to see if he could spot the others killing things.

RPCOMBAT: Sayaka defends against with a SPIDER-PERCEPTION…29

Sayaka would be a bit more successful on the outskirts of the farm in finding insects. Pests. Whatever one wanted to call them. Hibiki wouldn't be able to really see her dealing with her own battles since they were all on a much smaller scale. Her brood was fighting for her since it was between insects… However, Hibiki /would/ be able to see Kitaru deal with the rabbit. Poor rabbit… It was just hopping around and minding its own business when it got speared through! Well, that's one less rabbit to worry about…
As far as plants were concerned, some of wide-spread weeds that Hibiki would recognize for sure happens to be 'dandelions'. The very beginnings of the dandelions, even. They were a very common weed that were hard to stop the spread of. Just picking them wouldn't do much, and the white 'fuzz' was great fun for many kids to spread across the winds (which is why they keep cropping up in the first place!) He needed to get rid of those nasty weeds so the crops could grow properly!

RPCOMBAT: Kitaru defends against with a PERCEPTION…26

Kitaru would continue his travel around. A few more rabbits. Each would be delt with the same way in turn. He made sure that if it was something that could be considered a rodent animal, it was no more. While plenty of people might complain about the job, Kitaru simply did it. Much like how Hibiki thought, get it done quickly so that real tasks can be returned to.

Hibiki just stared and nods quickly. Yeah that was something he expected. Kitaru just killing everything to get it over and done with. As he got back to his own work though he stared at these dandelions and just formed a hand seal that allowed him to form and leak acid out of the tip of his finger. This acid would then quickly drop acid on each of the specific plants that needed to be destroyed completly. His focus was not going to be on the others anymore since he had to make sure not to get acid on other plants. Luckily his control even right now was pretty good.

The day itself seems to go on for forever for the trio, in all likelihood. The tasks themselves were monotonous and easy to perform. It isn't until after two hours of working that some sort of excitement comes about. There's shouting, first. Then there's some rumbling through the ground that Sayaka would be able to pick out because she was a bit more sensitive to vibrations compared to most others. Then the reason for the commotion rears its ugly head…
Some beast from the Blood Marshes was being brought over to the Arena, but it was able to escape its captors somehow. Apparently the beast was a bit smarter than they anticipated despite being one of the younger ones of its type. Some multi-headed serpent of sorts that was biting and lashing out at anyone who tried to come and capture it. Also, it was spitting acid at things and ruining the crops! All that hard work for the past two hours might be for nothing if the creature continues running rampant! D: Obviously, backup was being called for, but… The village was a bit away because Kiri thought /all/ their Chuunin were competent.

Kitaru would continue his hunt until.. well.. that shows up. Eyeing the beast, he frowns and with a motion, would start blocking the acid from getting more crops. It might pit the metal on Sphere some, but it would protect what his mission was about. "Hibiki-san, Sister. We must push it back. Try to not kill it, at least to start with." With that said, the Sphere would have a section pop open for a small mini-gun to pop out, already loaded and starts firing on the thing with senbon.

Hibiki was sweating a bit by now. And he was surely close to done if not just finishing when the snake showed up an that caused a big frown to pop up. "Are you kidding me!? I really don't want to deal with this rubble!" Hibiki was frustrated and just shook his head at Kitaru. "I can't help you capture it. All I am able to do is kill. SO either it stops and one of you capture it or I will kill it. Apologies." He said before sending a few balls of acid through the plants with a lot of skill. They curved around plants as to not damage them and then would smack into the side of the snake with a bit of a thud. They were moving quick enough for it.

Sayaka takes a bit to get herself to where Kitaru and Hibiki are because she happened to be on the opposite side of the field. Her eyes widen slightly at seeing the creature, and she frowns just a bit. Well… That was … Not something you see on a farm everyday. The girl gestures slightly to her spiders, and they'd start setting up webbing that would hopefully trap the creature if it was lured properly. "Hibiki-san… Try to make it… Head there…" she requests of the boy, pointing with her right hand to the spot her spiders were setting up. She figures that Kitaru had the best shot at killing it and distracting it while they set up a trap of sorts.
The beast was, notably, able to avoid Hibiki's acid by just slithering away like a snake. However, when it tries to melt the senbon coming at it, the spray is just too wide-spread and doesn't do anything for the finer needle-like object. This sends some poison into the creature, but it doesn't seem terribly affected yet. Since it can still move and all, the snake creature takes a chance to spray acid across the field and at those attacking it. Mostly, it was aimed at Hibiki, but Kitaru and Sayaka would end up within the range as well.

Kitaru watched as it'd spray that acid around, shaking his head as he'd step back. The bracer on his arm briefly expanded, extending out into a small make-shift shield that let him stop the acid from reaching him. Meanwhile, Hibiki would have that Sphere suddenly swap locations with him, rendering the acid strike at him innert. Kitaru carefully slung the acid off his bracer to the side so it wouldn't harm crops before directing the Sphere again. On the side opposite where Sayaka is, that Sphere would have two more miniguns pop up, the senbon sprayed to not only sting the serpent, but also push it towards the trap!

Hibiki looked at the acid coming at him and was preparing his hand seals to avoid it when someone he was moved? Or something. Whatever happened it completely confused him to the point where he lost track of the snake. His eyes shifted to Sayaka though and he would give a quick nods before starting to look for the snake again to try and use the balls of acid to sorta herd the snake. If Kitaru didn't handle it first that is since he seemed to be doing fine on his own. Hibiki would add acid either way.

Despite the fact that all excepting Hibiki's single acid pitch missed, the monster was still driven into the trap laid down for it. As soon as it crosses onto the webbing, its multiple heads hissing in pain, it would have a sudden cocoon around it. Well… That worked! And just in time for a far more competent Jounin and Chuunin to arrive and take the beastie away. Someone was probably going to get a flogging after this incident… But not the two Genin or Sayaka. They would be thanked before the monster got taken away, and then they'd be dismissed by Nemuri. Their pay would be sent to them later.
