Land of Lightning
There have really been some strange things around Kumo lately. Most of them are like… Experiments gone horribly wrong. Giant Cockroaches for one, Bus-sized Ants for another. And a third item of note would be fish with legs! So gross… Investigating the remains of any or all of these creatures, however, would lend some insight on 'where' they came from.
The Land of Lightning has always tended to run into mutant creatures for some reason. Or at least, that has been the case for the past four years in a rather sporadic manner. That's because there is a group of crazy scientists that all work apart, yet also together, almost as rivals to try and make the most fearsome creature that they can. They really ought to stop that… The creatures recently were all done by a single scientist, and the remains of the mutant creatures would all have a mark on them hidden somewhere: the scientist's super-secret seal! So scary.
A team of Kumo-nin were selected to go after this scientist. Digging up some Kumo records, they would have been able to find a location that seems to suit where this scientist is hiding. The man happens to be in the south-ish, living in an isolated cabin by a river that connects to the ocean three miles away. That is roughly where this team should be now, under the cover of nighttime.
Hiding in some grass looking towards the cabin, team in hand, was the Yotsuki woman known as Nariko. She looked around her. "Alright. We need to do this as quietly as possible. The plan will be to sneak in and capture. Try not kill him." That would be bad mm'kay? She sat up a bit to look more at the cabin to check for any signs of movement or life.
Nozomi was picked as part of this team for some reason she had yet to figure out, but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. She is crouched down there, in the darkness, with her nejigan active. But strangely enough, she's not humming or singing. Instead she is just looking around, using her dojutsu as a means of night-sight. A small bat sits on her shoulder, quiet as well. Both she and the bat nod, almost simultaneously, as they wait for the order to move.

Arashi was waiting here with the team then waiting for orders. "Alright. I am not too quiet personally, but I can easily create a mist around the place if trouble arises." He waited for her to actually start leading them inwards though. "I can capture him fine. I have been working on that rather than my more destructive skills." Anyways Arashi wanted Nozomi here because she was a good pick for things that involved being steathly. Mainy because she could make the groups footsteps and such quiet. As well as possibly allow them to speak without others hearing. "Alright. Lead the way Nariko. I think we are ready."

It's easy to see a few lights are on in this isolated cabin. Enough that implies the person in question is still awake. However, Nozomi would see any signs of movement, which are likely enhanced by that Nejigan of hers. There was no sound coming from the only floor of that one-story home, even though the lights were on. How suspicious… Maybe there was more to this home than meets the eye?! (always).
Nariko looks to Arashi as he speaks. "Alright good." She didn't really know Nozomi, but since she is a Kumo-nin, trusted her enough. "Okay, so let's move." She begins to make her way towards the cabin. "We need to see if there are any other exits. Arashi go to the left, Nozomi, go to the right. " She motions with her hands to each person. "If you see any movement, either get down or move on the target." If she wasn't trying to be sneaky she would clap and almost move as if to make a team break sound.
Nozomi nods and brings out her flute, but doesn't play it. Instead she emits a soft hum that would ordinarily have increased in volume and completely destroyed the stealth part of the mission, if it weren't for the fact that after the first note, which sounded like a cricket chirp, the entire area goes silent. After another second, Nariko would feel the effects of a very mild genjutsu, easily enough broken if she were so inclined, that whispered a voice into her ear, "Another few seconds, and I'll have everyone set up to relay commands." Ang seems to be the recipient of the other genjutsu, and he doesn't appear to resist at all…

Arashi would just start heading to the left then to flank the cabin. He didn't even react much to anything Nozomi did, and was just keeping everything as least detectable as possible. Which meant everything, but just storing his chakra was off limits for himself until actual attacking or something began. Hopefully Nozomi would get him connected to them quickly. Otherwise he would be confused as to what to do next.
Something seemed off about this mission and as such Reza departed the village behind the main party as both reinforcement as well as overwatch. Reza would land nearby his body cloaked in a lightbending shroud. Reza would maintain distance and keep overwatch for the group as they worked on infiltration. Keeping his elevation raised he'd resolve to act as the eyes in the back of their heads for now.

As Nariko got closer to the door she would become more upright and stands in front of the door to the cabin. She adjusts herself and attempts to make herself not look like a nin from Kumogakure, but instead just a random wanderer who was lost on her way home. She knocks on the door, waiting for the scientist inside to come and open. This was as stealthy as she gets.

Nozomi moves closer to her assigned position, alternating her hum between a genjutsu and enhancing her own perceptions. She would slowly start to move toward the nearest opening to the house as she sent messages to everyone, 'link established.' That done, she would wait for the cue to attempt entry.
Another second later she sends, 'There's some rumbling coming from underneath the structure, but it's too muffled to discern what it is.'

Arashi was not connected and with that he would get to his position and wait for oders. He didn't have too much else to do besides finish things as he had been dealing with every single thing this man created. FISH WITH LEGS! Just why. If it wasn't for others seeing it to he would think he was crazy. Either way he was ready to capture this man, and he just hoped he didn't have worse in store.

Reza would take the time to work to circle the area around the area of operation. Placing his detectiion seals in various key locations with the intent of keeping first alert of any foreign bodies coming in or out of the zone. "Keeping recon. Good luck in there." Reza would keep low as he manuevered the outer area.

The vibrations that Nozomi can see are below the house.. Interesting, no? She would soon find out the reason for this as the door opens and a giant ferret answers the door. Its steps were sort of … booming. There was a scientist gripped in its paws, and said scientist was flailing wildly. "Help! I went a bit… Overboard! ><;" he would say, even as the giant ferret throws the man at Nariko. It may have been fooled by the genjutsu, but it honestly doesn't care what Nariko looks like. Tough luck :(
Then the ferret ambles off, pressing a button that was on the side of a bookshelf. This seems to trigger something, as there is more rumbling, and then a number of strange creations seem to appear from the floor. Wait, where's the door? Well, it doesn't matter too much, hopefully… The door would probably be destroyed anyway, considering the fact that was shattered the floor was a giant wombat. Awww, it's so cute… And then it spits things at the shinobi nearby, and said spit was acidic in nature… c.c;

And when the scientist goes flying she thinks on her toes and looks behind her first. "Don't hit me, don't hit me." And bam, she falls into a bush nearby with the scientist on top of her. "Hi." She says with a grumble. "A little overboard?! Really?!" Oh now she was pouched, not only was she knocked off her feet, but she had a heavy guy ontop of her who created three out of control creatures. She wasn't even going to try and kick the guy off her because she didn't want him running away. So from her position she raises her arm and points her hand at the rodent who threw the scientist at her. Now she was pouched. Out of her arm bolts of lightning fire at the ferret, hopefully hitting them.

Nozomi was more or less prepared for anything… but a wombat? Seriously?! This man didn't need a prison, he needed a padded cell! Anyway, she brings up her flute and the noise around the area resumes as she starts playing. The first sounds form a wave of solidified sound that causes the acid blob to explode safely away from her. With a glint in her eyes, the second sound is a brief melody of her first battle concerto, followed by six notes that sends a series of sound-swords toward the wombat. Okay, Nozomi may not be an animal lover… But she's good at playing music!

Ang alights from Nozomi's shoulders and looks at the wombat, deciding t add his own skills to the fray. He swarms in to attack directly, his wing claws slashing at the beast. That's all anyone but the wombat in question senses, at least. The wombat, on the other hand, is sensing quite a bit more as one bat becomes a thousand.

Arashi just spit out a little strip of water that he would use to gather all the acid up and toss to the side away from him. "Oh fun." He frowned. "I will try to stun the man. Though it might sting a bit to him." He shrugged and didn't care as he raised his hands after making seals and shot waves of lightning to hit each mutated animal as well as the man. He followed that up by firing Laser Beams at the animals(Sparing the man so that he doesn't die.) Hopefully this would work.

Reza witnesses the uptick in action occuring. From his distance he couldn't make out the details of what was occuring but he went with the safer targets to pick off from long range. Forming a single seal Reza would eye the wombat. Hopping to a better vantage point Reza would aim a single glowing finger towards his target before letting loose a sharp bolt towards the wombat.

The ferret that Nariko targets did not see her zapzap at his back, and his glossy sleek fur did little to protect him from immediate shocking pain. He would let out a yelp and hop forward, damaging some of the house's furniture and part of the wall. "My house D:!!!" the scientist would say as he tries to scramble to his feet, moving forward to try and protect his already-damaged home. "Don't destroy my home!!!" he yells out, though more to the creatures than the shinobi.
Mr. Wombat has super fluffy ears, and they help a bit in cancelling out Nozomi's annoying noise, but the sound-swords just sorta slice through its fur and draw a bit of blood. The wombat whines unhappily, and it doesn't look so cute anymore. It shows its nasty looking teeth at Nozomi, but then a bat- no, a BUNCH OF BATS - swarm it, and it backs off a bit, getting scratched at thanks to Ang. Meanie bat ;-;
It is unfortunate, but the mad scientist that came up with these beasties was not fully aware of his surroundings. Arashi's attempt to zap him went through his body, and he collapsed to his side on the ground, arms still outstretched in mid-wave. "owwie…" he squeaks out. His creations have it a bit better, the ferret rolling around to avoid the lightning, and then the lasers. It was … surprisingly speedy :o Even the wombat, though it mostly just stood there, seemed to be unaffected by the lightning. The laser was another story, though, hitting it square in the 'chest' and setting off the scent of burnt fur. Ew… Also, that strike to it made it all skittish, so it started just moving arround strangely, not really caring one way or the other where it went. It got zapped by more painful storm chakra, and it seemed like its running around was going to end up with squished shinobi! …
The ferret looked less than happy, and it was also smarter than its companion. That means that it had enough brains to curl up into a ball and start rolling around as well to try and barrel into Reza, whom it saw the lightning-zap-zap from.

Nariko was glad the scientist had gotten up and allowed her to get up, especially since a stupid rodent was on its way to trample her! She was already annoyed at the scientist. "Really? You didn't think they wouldn't destroy your home? Too bad you now have a new one." And man was she angry. She still had energy surging through her arm and released another round of lightning through her hand. But then she really wanted to hurt that rodent for trying to trample her so some of that collected lightning fizzeled and sparked around her fist that was now appearing as she ran to hit the thing with.

Nozomi watches as the wombat starts to charge. She uses her flute to generate another series of sharp pointy sound objects and then follows it up with a wave of sound to try to knock it off course while making it think twice about going after her. The swords seem to be doing well against the beast, but the sound wave isn't quite strong enough to knock the beast off course, getting her run over in the process. But Nozomi protects her flute, and is right back up with another blast of sound, followed by three more swords in quick succession.

In the meantime, Ang decides to start distracting the wombat by virtue of… you guessed it, another genjutsu! This time it uses its knowledge of the animal kingdom to make the wombat hear the sounds of whatever animal considers wombats prey, amplified by over 9000! And these sounds are all around the wombat, save in one direction that follows a path between various shinobi, giving the wombat one better chance for safety against invisible predators.

Arashi formed a bunch of clones quickly, but most of them got trampled as did he himself. OW! He got to his feet once it had moved on, and quickly started forming seals. "This thing…" Since he was acting last it seemed he wouldn't have time to tie them down for others. They were all already attacking. So he just decides he should try his best to hit them instead. As orbs of storm chakra start circling about his form to be used in either an offensive or defensive form they all suddenly fire off as beams at all the animals. He hoped they would die now, but with his luck he felt there would be more to deal with.

As the ferret barreled towards him Reza would calmly form a familiar set of seals before spewing form a massive water spout to take the entirety of the animal's attack. Reza would then narrow his eyes before raising his hands. The water spout would disperes but not before scattering water near the two. Reza would form a set of seals before extending his hands Water would begin to attempt to envelope the ferret in a large bubble. Regardless of the success of the bubble, water wasn't the only thing being drawn to the ferret. Several sets of explosive tags would also splash around near the creature. "Shame…I really like ferrets."

With the shinobi pulling out all the stops, the mutant critters are defeated! The poor giant wombat's ears got blasted, and then it kinda got stabbed through in addition to getting zapped by Arashi. Oww :( It wasn't dead, but it gave up and flumped on the ground all exhausted now. Ang's Genjutsu had tired it even more/terrified it to the point where it just wanted to curl up and not exist v.v;
Something similar with the ferret went on. It was rolling towards Reza, but it didn't manage to avoid Nariko's zapping and then her punch, which sent it a bit off-course. It bounces off a few trees like a pinball before ricocheting towards Reza, who manages to stop it in its tracks with a water prison before the explosive tags go off and kill it all. Bye bye ferret >.>;
Nariko lets out a sigh as the ferret dies and the poor..wait, no, giant and evil wombats are taken care of. She walks over to the scientist and lookks down a him. "You are in so much trouble." She knows he's unconscious, but she's still going to talk to him. "Alright, we need to take him back to the village and put him somewhere where he can't use any more experiments. That means telling Amani she can't talk to him." She was dead serious. The last thing she needed was Amani thinking of creating large goats. She stretches and cracks her neck. "Let's go home. I'm beat."
Ang flies down and lands on Nozomi's shoulder, then flattens himself against it. Nozomi reaches up with her empty hand and scritches the bat gently, then nods as she first stows away the flute then turns to the others, singing, "What do we want to do with the oversized rodent? I'd move in to finish it off, but with my luck…" She shrugs and looks over to Arashi with a finely raised eyebrow, as if following up that inquiry with 'now what?'
RP: Nozomi reverts to her normal state.
Arashi looked at Nariko and chuckled a bit after everything was said and done. "Don't worry. I agree. No letting Amani near the scientist." He shrugged before looking over at Nozomi and Ang. "You two alright? I can bandage things if you need it." In the meantime he was rubbing some cream on a few spots that were already starting to bruise. Hopefully that would lessen the effects and once bandaged it should be fine/better. "Reza can finish off the other things I am sure." He looked at Reza to let him do it. "The rest of us can either wait or start heading back."
Reza would swiftly close the gap between him and the others in time to hear he has clean up duty. Frowning Reza's tattoos would lose their luster as he took a look around. "Shame we can just put em all on a boat and drop em off on an island somewhere…" Cracking his knuckles he'd frown. "Aye. I'll wrap things up here. So don't worry about it."
