"Southland Pirates"

Sea between the Southlands and the Shinobi World

Ever since the ship from the Southlands made it to Tea, half burned with few crew still alive and most of it's cargo stolen, the Daimyo of tea has been informed of a group of pirates that have some strange jutsu that allows them to come in unseen, and suddenly attack merchant vessels as if they were ghosts. This sort of attack on Tea's thriving merchant ties with the southland can not be tolerated, and thus with all things that require a soldiers on the ground, the Daimyo has likely taken a personal investment into bringing them down.
Ryuusei was amazed that the vessel she was aboard looked exactly like a merchant vessel, but that in itself was all a part of the plan. The pirates wouldn't attack a heavily armed vessel with heavily armed soldiers aboard it. The vessel had to look as if it was defenseless, as to make a more suitable target. According to the reports, after all, the vessel only appears when they are attacking. This has made it impossible for the military of the Southland's government to track them down in light of all the instability the southlands has been under recently. "Daimyo-sama. I have to wonder if we even have weapons on board this ship, or if… or if you plan on letting them attack us openly." Ryuusei was no strategic mastermind of the waves, but she was not openly aware of any weapons. A credit to the Daimyo's planning, of course. Who knows where a weapon might be stored. There are plenty of crates after all.
Everyone aboard has been on the waves for two days, and everyone has been on high alert. Something has to happen soon, because they aren't far from the coast of the Southlands now…

Shuuren himself owns many merchant vessels, including fake secretly armored and weaponized ones that he uses to lure in pirates and yakuza, but Ryuusei hasn't seen all that there is to see of that side of the Daimyo's business ventures. "There are many ways we can attack in return. I've got some hidden around on the ship, but we can probably handle it without that," the Daimyo replies as they sail. His signature suit has been traded for his black combat attire. Considering how many merchants have reportedly been taken down, it seems he is not expecting much negotiation.

A samurai was aboard the ship but out of sight. The man wore red and golden armor, patterned like the scales of a dragon with a definite demon motif. The helmet and mask were intricate and demony.. And the eyes were crimson. Though the man was small in stature he clearly worked for Shuuren and had in the days prior, set out to hire Taro to come along on this little field trip. He gave the wanderer a prepayment of gold and a set of travel papers wit the Daimyo's seal.
He had met Taro then at the docks long before Shuurena nd Ryuusei had come on board and the samurai had remained belowdecks to be sure not to let his presence be seen. He sat on a field stool, full armor on, mask still on, watching Taro while he read a book written in a language Taro would only recognise if he had spent a lot of time around the Land of Iron and the noble samurai clans therein. R Finally he set the book down a bit. "What brought you to Tea?" He had a soft voice, though those eyes seemed to peer right into one's soul.

Taro was quiet mostly. He needed money so he was willing to accept what he assumed would be a simple job. He was looking at the book and he didn't know it perfectly, but he could read that language enough to get through a book with a little struggling within. Finally he was asked a question. "I was just traveling. Buying supplies from places before I leave again. I have somewhere to be, but the place is nice so I might come back someday. Maybe soon with all the people here being so…well most of the people here being so welcoming." He kept his face expressionless. He had some armor on himself, and had two swords at his side as well as a big shuriken on his back.

Imire leans against the side of the ship, keeping a lookout for anything suspicious. He sighs, wondering if he'd even be useful here. There was a samurai, though, which gave him some confidence. And then Taro was here, which implied that the physical fighters were not completely unnecessary. The young teen would straighten and turn to move towards Ryuusei, mentally assigning himself as her guard despite the fact that he was supposed to be working for Shuuren. Well, as long as Ryuusei doesn't do anything stupid, this arrangement would work, right? Right. Imire was dressed in black clothing with green trim that matched his sword's patterning as well (along the hilt especially).

They must all be on a fake merchant vessel now, armed to the teeth. This wouldn't bode well for the pirates at all. Not to mention some of the Daimyo's top fighters were here. Ryuusei felt particularly cozy on board a vessel with an unknown, but likely high amount of firepower. If this was a -single- pirateship, they would be A-okay. She herself does not see anything, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of strange jutsu being used to mask a ship tailing their own. The sea had an eerie feel to it to Ryuusei, but she noticed nothing out of the usual. "Oh… Hey, Imire…" She says as she places her hands on her lap. She herself was in very basic armor, nothing like Daoma's. Things like armor had to be earned, so in the meantime she merely had a lamellar chestplate upon her, aside from the black battle-kimono that the Daimyo supplied to her. She brought her voice down to a whisper. "Taro seems… rather talkative. He seemed colder when he was around me. Do you… think he is impressed by Daoma?"

As the samurai speaks, Shuuren glances over his way then back ahead toward the sea. Since he has rather acute hearing, he doesn't have to listen in too heavily to get the information asked. Since he's not being specifically spoken to, he keeps his mind to the task at hand, keeping an eye out for pirates. Despite the eerie feeling, he seems completely focused as they sail along.

The samurai watched Taro as he explained his curent life plan. Of course if he /was/ an assassin he wouldn't go around stating that. Still, he seemed harmless. (so to speak.) "Shuuren-dono wanted a few extra hands today." Indicating the book he had set down he raises an eyebrow, crimson eyes watching him closely. "You can read this?"

Imire would continue to stare at the distance, but part of him was uncertain. His attention was quickly grabbed by Ryuusei when she spoke, though. "Hey, Ryuu-chan … Taro-san is here, huh? It's a bit strange for him to be here, isn't it?" He wonders aloud. His voice is still sorta soft, of course. He didn't want Taro to hear him.

The air was silent, the ocean breeze was soft. It didn't seem like there was anything out there. For the moment, things were calm. Ryuusei admittedly was a little shy when Imire suddenly picked up his voice. "I-Imire-kun! Q-quiet! W-what if he is on deck right now?" Her head scanned the deck, and she sighed. "H-he isn't, but… I-I whispered for a reason, Imire-kun! D-don't do that again please… P-please?" She asks, hunched a little, slightly embarassed…

As they sail along, Shuuren reaches into his coat and withdraws a small box that contains some sort of soldier pills. He pops the top on it and tosses it into his mouth, chewing and then swallowing it. There's a sudden massive spike in his chakra as he closes his eyes for a moment as he sends out a pulse of chakra to search for signs of life around them.
"… On your guard. There are about ten ships around us," he commands then brings his hands into a seal, creating a few Shadow Clones around himself in preparation for the coming battle.

The samurai nodded and slipped the book back into a pocket under the armor. "Good. If you understad it will be much simpler. But realize that if I thought you were here to harm Shuuren-dono or the Land of Tea.. You would not be here right now."
Shuuren's words got the samurai to nod. "Now is your chance to prove to him that you aren't going to try and kill his new pet." A wink and the samurai moved away, toward those gathered above, a hand on his sword.

Taro nods slowly. "Well I supposse that is a good thing then." Her words of new pet made him pause. What…did he mean. He probably wouldn't have paused any if not for the wink. Though Taro then does get up and walks out to follow Daoma. "Alright….I can do this easily enough. I hope. As long as they don't have some super form of ninjutsu that sinks the boat." He sighed and looked out towards the others. Particularly Imire and Ryuusei.

Shuuren would have trouble with his sensor abilities. This Jutsu was creating a large screen that seemed to be large enough to cover over ten ships. Yet, he was able to see the faint signatures of the many individuals on board. There were one hundred people scattered across 10 ships. Strangely enough, despite having 10 ships, the pirates were not outright attacking. Not only that but their chakra signatures were strange. While perhaps an effect of the barrier they had errected, their signatures were scattered. Could this be the incorporeal? Shuuren's ship comes to a stop as Shuuren gives the combat order. Only one of the ships seemingly moves forward to engage, slowly making it's way towards the ship. It would be the firs to leave the barrier, the ship slowly slipping through the light-bending chakra and arriving. It looked… very shoddy this ship. The sails looked torn as if attacked by countless other merchant vessels, remaining unsunk.
This would surprise Ryuusei, who immediately drew her blade. That didn't surprise her the most, however. The fact that Shuuren created several copies of himself bothered her more. "I don't like it either… I-I've never seen the Daimyo use the clone technique like that…" Pretty amazing. What wasn't amazing was what came from the ship. A chakra spike was felt, before it appeared that flame was lobbed toward's the Daimyo's vessel. A ghostly blue flame. The problem came that the ghostly blue flames were not actually aiming for anyone at all. No. It appears that this ship was trying to sink the boat! One might guess that the ship will be set ablaze if more than two hit!

As the attacks come, each of the Shuurens bring out tags from their coats and throw them at the edge of the vessel before bringing their hands into seals. Upon activation, walls of chakra come up and deflect half of the incoming artillery. The original then reaches into his coat and draws a heavy spear that he tosses over to Daoma while the Shadow CLones flicker off at some of the ships to go directly at their lower structures and try to burst them and cause them to sink.

The samurai came up to the deck of the ship and watched as the pirates surrounded them. Not being one of those super sensitive types the samurai moved swiftly, making the entire ship tremor under her feet as she drew her two swords with such force and speed that the fireballs simply went out. Blocking fire with swords.. an interesting trick… Then he turned and caught the spear thrown by Shuuren.. One two.. step and … flung it straight at one of the attacking ships' hull, looking to pierce it just below the water line….. Anyone near the samurai would feel the wind whip and the small shockwave when he threw the spear.

Taro looked at Daoma charge in and blinked a few. That sword blocking fire trick he needed to learn. Could be useful. Anyways he followed, but his only range attack wouldn't really pierce a ship. It wasn't meant for piercing as much as cutting so..humans. No problem. SHips….yeah nothing. For now he would wait, and his swords still stayed at his side, but he did pull his shuriken off of his back. He was ready for them to get close and within range for him to throw this..and retrieve it.

Imire stands on the ship's deck awkwardly, not entirely sure what to do. He couldn't stop the flames, otherwise he'd burn to death. And he couldn't dive into the water because he was a terrible swimmer and didn't know water walking. And he could punch a ship because … well, it wouldn't do anything. The teen would frown just a bit, unsure what to do. "Ummm … it's pretty amazing … But I don't think I'm of much use here, Ryuu-chan …" Imire notes with a frown. "I shouldn't have come with you."

"Stand fast, Imire. You are not worthless… Shuuren and Daoma just sunk their ship! Surely their next move will be to board our ship. When they come, we will be useful!" She did have something technically ranged, but the technique is far less strong at a range. She'll remain a short range fighter. She also had no doubt that Daoma and Shuuren would be able to block the enemy fire. Excellent! What isn't excellent is that rather suddenly, little spears shoot out from the hull, sinking into the Daimyo's ship. These spears had chains attached. This was pretty bad, because it meant if the chains were not cut they would drag their own ship into the bay!

That wasn't all. Rather soon after the dredge-lines connected, wooden boards were pushed by almost seemingly nothing. Then the sounds of boots were heard. Clearly the pirates were using some strange technique to keep themselves hidden!

After taking down the ships, Shuuren's clones flicker back toward the boat and swat the spears headed at the ship away to keep them from sinking into it. As the men trying to come aboard try to attack, he calls out, "We're not alone on the ship. Look out!" He extends his hands out then, sending a wave of snakes from his sleeves to strike out at the throats of the men on board their ship while his clones move to perform the same attack on other ships.

Daoma looked up, when Shuren alerted them to others onthe ship she looked to the water spraying about them. And took the hint. She brought up her blade to deflect the slashes. Then she jumped over the side of the ship.. Keeping attached to the ships with tree walking, she brought her swords to bear, slashing aiming to cut the chains tethering the ships to eachother.

Taro with help from Shuuren alerting them would be able to avoid any swords. Then Shuuren seemed to attack everyone here as well, and simply blinked a bit. He figured his clones he made earlier wouldn't be able to do as much so he simply ran closer to one of the other ships now that they were a bit closer and through his shuriken with a smaller, but still sizable one hidden in its shadow. "Your clones able to recover my shuriken if they don't swiftly return from my arc?" He looked at Shuuren as he spoke.

It seems as if Shuuren's awesome powers brings no challenge to the pirates, and the ships that were behind the barrier are suddenly attacked by shadowclones. The remaining ships that haven't been boarded turn around and flee to fight another day, though most of the ships have been captured. With the chains severed, the ship sunken beside the Daimyo's vessel is quickly sunk. Even the shinobi that are fighting everyone on board the vessels are taken out by Shuuren's jutsu. Ryuusei was able to block every incoming strike with her stationary phase of condensed water released by her blade with a quick slice. She managed to be alerted by Imire just in time, sadly though… Imire had tripped overboard before his opponent could even attack him! He was nearly sucked under into the water by cavitation! Poor Imire. Suffice to say, any other pirates that are alive and are on board the vessel are likely surrendered. "B-BAKEMONO! B-B-BAKEMONO!" Was it far from the truth anymore. Even Ryuusei watched Shuuren single handedly defeat a pirate fleet as if it was nothing…

With the pirates conquered, Shuuren chuckles at the name he's called. "Most just call me Daimyo. Now kneel for your capture," he says then gestures to Daoma and the others who're available on hand and not otherwise busy to bind the remaining pirates up for interrogation at a later time. Questioning them should prove productive in finding out the hideouts of the rest of the pirates. Glancing over to Taro, he says, "I suppose. You should probably invest in some wire or something."

In rows he reached up and unfastened the mask covering his face… Then came the helmet. A mass of long black hair fell from thehelmet and there stood a woman with black hair and red eyes. She sighed as if bored but turned to Taro. "You did well enough."

Taro nodded to Shuuren. "I hope this helped show that I could be trusted… At least for things like this." He bowed towards Shuuren before turning to Daoma. And right as her mask came off he blinked a bit. "Oh… You're a woman. I don't see many women samurai. Nice to see one. Thanks for the compliment either way." He rubbed his hand through his hair. "I will say that I wouldn't mind learning a bit myself…from maybe you considering you are the one I saw block fire with your sword." He raised a brow as if using it to show it is a question. "Either way we can talk about that when we get back." He made sure his shuriken were recovered before relaxing a bit more. Oh and if Imire needed it he might go help him.
