Land of Earth
Evening has come in the Land of Earth, and what more joyous occasion to be out and about is there than a mission? It's been a bit since Shuuren came out himself for a mission, but this one is particularly delicate. A caravan was being delivered to the Earth Daimyo for a gift for his daughter's wedding, a rather expensive one at that. It passed a checkpoint about 3/4 of the way through the country southwest of Iwagakure and suddenly stopped sending messages back. Not one to step into a country and step on the toes of its Hidden Village or ignore them, Shuuren approached Iwagakure for a mission to come along and help him locate and/or rescue the caravan from whatever fate has befallen it.
At the helm of a fast-moving wagon of his own with horses that've obviously been fed some kind of serum to speed them up to shinobi speed, the Tea Daimyo races toward the last checkpoint the caravan stopped at. Along with him would be Mika, one of his current diplomatic and shinobi apprentices, and the team from Iwagakure that the Tsuchikage decided to bring along for the ride. His eyes show a deadly determination and focus, yet he seems almost as relaxed as ever in this. Perhaps he's enjoying being out on the hunt again since it's not something he's been able to do as often as he used to in quite some time. Whatever the case, they're making record time toward hopefully finding the caravan and retrieving it.
Riding along with him, Juudai shakes her head as she rides along, "I must say, Shuuren. These horses are not properly steady for a woman to enjoy a proper cigar." She shakes her head and glances back at the others before looking forward, "I almost think I might have to wait till we arrive to enjoy one." She then glances back again. Kaneko was allowed along with this mission but she was told to stay back and observe only. To involve herself only if necessary. After all, students aren't normally allowed along but the majority of the students were in Kumogakure and she got left behind so it seems she had to do something this evening.
Mika declined a horse. Mostly cause the animals seem to get spooked a bit around her. And teh woman doesn't want to get kicked in the face with a hoof, or thrown off. She took one of Shuuren's pills though, so manages to keep up decently. The woman is wearing a robe as well. Something formal, yet hides her appearence from all those around. They just know that Shuuren brought her along, so whoever she is, is either good, or very talented in something…For now, just what that is…Who knows…
Shu doesn't trust horses so he and Kimi travel on foot…paw…all fours, etc. He scoffs at Juudai's comment and tries to hold his tongue. Kimi has less faith in Shu than that so she gives him a wide birth as to not end up a casualty of Juudai's retaliation. Deciding against it for now, Shu directs his attention the mysterious two who joined them on this mission. "Fancy guy in white and some mysterious figure in robes. Seems a bit cliche if you ask me eh Kimi?" Shu only now notices Kimi's distance. "…what are you doing?" Kimi gives him the same look before looking to Kaneko. And like that Shu is instantly reminded why he was in a disgruntled mood about all this. "Big mission like this and I'm babysitting the runt. Figures."
Kaneko was going on a mission. An /actual mission/! It was a bit hard to believe, and the girl was excited. Her parents could hardly disapprove, too! This was a ch- oh, she had to hang back… Sigh! The girl rode on horseback, a smaller horse to fit her small stature. The girl looks around eagerly, happy to see beyond Iwagakure. "So … We just need to watch for the caravan? What exactly did it look like, anyway?" she asks the nearest person…. Who happens to be Shu.
Shuuren casts a smirk over at Juudai as they ride before looking back ahead at the road. "I'm not certain I'd blame my horses so much as your bumpy countryside, or at least call it a combination of their speed and that." Another glance would be cast to the others who're going to exhaust themselves before they even reach where they're going by trying to keep up with these horses that have Jounin-level speed, figuring he'll let them learn from their ignorance.
After some time traveling, they finally start to get close. As they do so, the Daimyo's eyes narrow slightly, and he announces, "Get ready… There are dozens of enemies up ahead… At least one with a rather formidable chakra."

"I am the Tsuchikage." She shrugs and pulls out a cigar, "I can blame who I please." She then puts the cigar in her lips and smirks as she looks over at Shuuren. She then looks forward as they near their destination. She considers what Shuuren states and then nods her head as she watches the area ahead. SHe nods back at theo thers, "Be prepared. Remember, Kaneko. You are to stick to the outside. Don't go near the true fighting." She then nods to Shu, "Keep her safe." She then looks forward as she prepares by pushing her chakra out.
Shu blinks at Kaneko "It…looks like a caravan." Shu answers dryly. "Well maybe not. Depending on what happens to it." Kimi reminds Shu that he's falling behind. "Capit. What's with these things?" The horses were unnaturally fast. Defeating his distrust of horses Shu's loathing of overexertion allowed him to make the rational decision and hitch a ride. As they near their destination Shu sighs looking towards Kaneko. "Aye I'll keep the pipsqueak safe." Shu focuses a modest amount of chakra just in case things dicier than he'd hope. "You'd better do the same runt." he advises in an irritated tone.

RP: Shu transforms into KIMI.
"Got it, Sensei!" Knack says cheerfully, giving a quick salute. The girl's horse can at least keep up. She was to use it to stay back from the fighting, after all… Even if she is supposed to stick close to Shu. It was hard to figure out which was the better course of action, though. "Wh- enemies?" the girl echoes feeling a powerful wave of chakra from Juudai and Shuuren. It was a /lot/, even for a non-sensor! The girl flinches a bit, readying some of her own almost instinctively. "You don't have to tell me twice!" she tells Shu, her own tone matching his.

As the team races toward the area where the caravan is mostly likely parked due to the amount of goons hanging around, the first group apparently decide it's best to try to slow them down. While the others prepare for the coming onslaught, they come as the first wave. Beginning while Shuuren and the team from Iwagakure are still en route, they begin a rain of arrows at them.

While they get closer, Shuuren would send Mika back on the trail to be sure none of the goons try to come back that way with the cargo. When he feels the attack about he happen, he calls out, "Fire coming from above. On your guard!" He suddenly yanks the reigns, bringing the wagon to a halt as he leaps into the air with inhuman grace. The horses are armored and tough enough that it doesn't faze them at all. With a flicker the Daimyo is up closer on the trail with arms extended out toward the men. As he does so, snakes begin to eject from his sleeves at their attackers with intent to bite and take down as many as he can at a time.

Frowning deeply as Juudai watches the incoming, she stands up from her spot and doesn't seem to have issue doing so. She has to reach up and deflect one arrow coming toward Kaneko only to get caught in the shoulder by another and spins slightly so she can't catch another one coming her way. She growls as she watches blood well up on her shoulder. She looks over toward the enemies ahead and even as Shuuren attacks, she leaps down and lights her cigar before she starts toward the enemies at a walk. She watches his snakes and even as he sends snakes, she simply sends her gaze toward the enemies ahead. Her horrific presence, all the death she brings washing over them as she walks toward them, "Shu, see to Kaneko. Kaneko, attack from afar but do not come in close." She then puffs out some smoke, "I am now annoyed to say the least."

Shu can't evade all of the arrows but he manages to keep his hide somewhat arrow free. He tries to shield Kaneko but his leg seems to have been struck by one of the arrows. "Ouch. Dynamite. Looks like you're on your own kid." Shu winces as he makes his way over to Kaneko. So much for keeping her safe. "See to her. Gotcha…starting now." Shu nods. "Try to protect your vitals at least." Seeing as he was on guard duty it would make no sense to attack. He'd leave the goons to their grim fate with Shuuren and the Stone Hag. "I almost feel sorry for them."

Well, sure, you can tell Kaneko to do a lot of things! Whether or not she can stay safe is a whole other matter. Despite her attempt to just duck down and keep low, Kaneko ends up with a bunch of arrows in her, and she looks like a pincushion by the end of it! Well, it's needless to say she'll be pretty useless! Not even able to take a few arrows… At least she can say she tried? Regardless, she does have a few arrows in places where it makes moving impossible! So weak :(

Only one of the goons aimed at manages to evade being taken down by snakes. He's not lucky enough, however, to evade Juudai's genjutsu with the remaining men of this wave. With them all down, the shinobi have enough time to gather themselves and take care of their wounded if a strong enough blow is given to get rid of this defenseless lot.
"Kill them. I'll take care of Kaneko," Shuuren tells Juudai as he sees the men have fallen. With a flicker he appears beside Kaneko, bringing his hands into a seal. He creates a cloud of nano chakra scalpels around his hands and places them over her, sending them into her in a large wave to instantly heal the mass of wounds that were dealt by the arrows.

RP: Juudai transforms into BAKUTON-III.
Turning upon hearing the girl cry out in pain. She stares at what she isn't sure is a body or not and she then looks to Shuuren. She then growls and turns her gaze to the enemies ahead. Lightning starts to arc over her body, exploding in mid air as it arcs over her. She suddenly rushes forward and then states, "Attacking a young girl? Even if by accident is unforgiveable. You all wish for death so badly? Then come, take it." She then suddenly leaps forward and as she sends a palm strike toward one she'll end up sending a blast of power right through that one and blasting into any behind him before she'll turn quickly and attempt another palm strike right for another for a massive blast in his direction as well, "Come now, don't tell me you are all done yet." She then spits out her cigar, "I'm only just now getting worked up."
Shu's eyes widen with alarm for once. "Hey?" he says softly to Kaneko. She wasn't moving and she was riddled with arrows. Is she dead. Shu rushes over to check. "Not quite a corpse yet." Whose fault is this? He couldn't help but ask. Of course he already knew the answer. Why delude himself? She was his responsibility. Even though he gripped about it. That's when Shuuren arrives. Calm and powerful he was in control of it all. Like some sort of magician he fixed…everything. Shu can only look on in pure awe as Kaneko is basically resurrected. This time he wouldn't let her fall victim. "Kimi…" Shu calls for his partner. Kimi understood that they'd be guarding her with her their life now. He glances to Shuuren, envious of that power. It's exactly what Shu wants. The power to not need anyone else. "Thanks. We'll take care of her now." he affirms with a fire behind his eyes.
Kaneko feels her wounds healing and she winces a bit. "You're supposed to take the arrows out first," She points out a bit dryly, though her voice is pretty much barely a whisper. She hadn't passed out yet, which was a miracle in and of itself! Of course, by then, she's pretty much hit her limit by then. It had taken a lot of her own energy to not go down just from that one batch of arrows! So now she's passed out. Hopefully Shu takes real good care! »

BOOOOOOOOM! With Juudai's attack, that wave of men is gone in an instant. That, of course, opens up the area for the second wave to come. This one, rather than coming with arrows starts to charge the area. Luckily Juudai is already up ahead a bit, so she and Shuuren can drive them back away from their wagon. Still, now they're dealing with stronger-looking goons carrying swords that seem rather intent on slicing them to bits. At least Kaneko's out of the way of fire for now since Shuuren's standing over her.

"Get her back to wagon and put her inside," Shuuren instructs Shu as he moves in front of the coming onslaught. A couple even manage to cut him, cutting his suit as they draw blood… Bad move… Suddenly there seems to be a bit more fire in his eyes, made more evident as he swallows another pill, which causes a huge burst in his chakra again before he opens his sleeves again and starts to release hordes of snakes after the men.

Looking at the goons coming out, Juudai frowns and pulls up another cigar. She lights it with a passing spark coming off her own body. She pulls on some of it as the men attack her and with but one hand seal she simply looks up at them and blows smoke in the face of one of them, "That the best you got." She then flicks the cigar right toward him, "Try this on." She then turns and sends her right palm right into the face of another and the blast that follows is nasty. She looks back toward the ones htat Shuuren is fighting before saying, "How is my student?"
Shu is ready to sheild Kaneko from the reign of the second wave. Once again Shuuren intervenes. Shu picks Kaneko up carefully. "Right." He sighs despising his helplessness at the moment. "Kimi." as one the two retreat to the caravan with Kaneko. Setting her down gently Shu looks to see how the two fair. "You should be safe here." Shu grins "This time I'm certain of it." He looks to Kimi "Are you getting restless too?" The feline finally agrees with Shu. "Don't leave the caravan." He orders her. There's a deafening explosion in the distance however. Shu whistles "The Stone Hag is really letting loose. There might not be anyone left for us Kimi…"

Within moments Juudai and Shuuren have decimated a good part of the forces, though a few manage to escape the Tsuchikage's wrath. They then come in stronger force, trying to eradicate the two before they can reach the final wave. Something seems just a tad off. No matter how hard they're being decimated, they don't really show fear or stop coming until they've been destroyed. Brainwashed maybe? Still, they're too far gone to have any useful information.

"She's fine, no injury left at all. My best guess is she may be pretending to nap to keep herself out of the line of fire," Shuuren says with a smirk over at Juudai before he sends out yet another wave of snakes. This wave of men isn't going to last too long either with the two of them attacking them. "Honestly, what fool would attack a caravan of this importance in one of the Great Five Nations? That's basically suicide."
"Who indeed." Juudai states and then stops as she watches Shuuren attacking, frowning deeply and then she looks around, immediately starting to glance this way and that. She immediately flicks out several handseals and…vanishes. She then starts to run around the attack and attempts to move into range to try to see where it is all these fools are coming from.

Well, when nobody was looking, Mika had snuck back on a wagon, and was napping underneath some blankets. Nobody really questioned where the woman went cause she was so heavily hidden under the Formal Robes that Shuuren gave her. But then the sounds of battle is heard. The woman yawns a little bit as she gets up, and rubs her eyes a little bit. She even does this pawing motion to rub a little bit of the sleep out of her eyes. THe girl blinks a little bit. "…Oops…I almost slept through the attack!", she mutters. "Going to need to earn my tuna…" The woman quietly moves under the wagon, and starts getting rid of the robe, waiting to unleash hell while staying hidden…

While Shuuren decimates what's left of this wave, Juudai manages to successfully sneak away to see what's left. What she finds isn't very pleasant, a caravan surrounded by a few dozen more bandits waiting for their turn to do battle. Oddly enough their commander doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight at the moment.

With this wave taken care of, Shuuren smirks slightly and looks over to where Juudai has gone. To most people her defense would be perfect, leaving them with no idea of where she is, but this is a man with many ways of seeking out anyone. One might question if he's only let the yakuza who are after him live so long out of kindness to give them a chance to stop coming after him. Maybe all of his enemies are this foolish… He takes a moment to gather himself, opening a scroll that lets out of a puff of smoke. When it fades, he is adorned in a new pristine white suit without blemish. This Daimyo battles in style… He gives Juudai a few moments to assess the situation before he flickers to land near her, ducking down behind a rock as he senses out the situation around them. "… The bigger chakra source isn't among them. Be on your guard," he says in a low tone.
Frankly, Juudai didn't expect to hide from someone who is also a leader. Not with a seal like that. Thing is, she can't make the seal not hide her from everyone. It simply hides her and that is that. When she spots what is going on, standing out in the open without a care because she believes her stealth has protected her and it seems it has. SHe watches what is going on and then shakes her head. She idly rubs her chin before she simply drops the cloak and walks up toward the caravan. A cigar goes to her lips and she lights it with a spark from her finger, "While this has been an amusing diversion, I believe now is the time to end the charade." She then looks around before saying, "This lie is unbecoming and rather annoying at best." She looks down at her cigar for a moment before looking up suddenly and her forceful personality rushing over top of the people waiting, "You have harmed one of my people. Come out so that I might kill you slowly."
Mika growls a little bit under the wagon. Shuuren likely will have noticed that there's still a bit of wildness to her as she hasn't fully mastered this form yet. That tail is swishing back and forth, as she moves on all fours, waiting for her oppertunity to pounce.

While some of the men fall prey to Juudai's Genjutsu, some are trained well enough to get themselves ot of it. Luckily for them Juuday has just given away her position quite willfully. Thus they charge her with their swords drawn, quite intent on kiling her. It seems her words have drawn no response from the leader thus far, whoever he is hiding and orchestrating a battle with these men from behind the scenes.

Meanwhile Shuuren stands just where he was, allowing Juudai to do her bit of showing off while he does something a bit more productive. Closing his eyes, he sends out a pulse that gives him the chakra and health information of every living thing within his large Sensor range. "… I know where you are," he calls out. "Come on out like she says and we'll settle this."

Watching as the men rush her, Juudai takes a strong drag of her cigar and then pulls it from her lips. She makes a couple of quick seals so fast that they are hard to seal with her off hand before she flicks her cigar in the direction of the charge men. The cigar hits right on the tip of one of the blades coming her way only to explode in a horrific blast that she simply whips both hands downward to cause chakra to flow across them and then she pulls them back and whips both forward into a double palm strike into whichever fool is dumb enough to come the closest for a double palm blast that sends an explosive blast away from her before she stands back up straight, pulls out another cigar and then brings it to her lips, "We done playing?"

With the series of blasts lightning up man after man, Juudai has soon cleared a good portion of this last wave of bandits. The pile of bodies is rather high, though there are still men coming her way. Meanwhile a giant blast of flame comes Shuuren's way with intent to blast him backwards. "So the Tea Daimyo himself has come along to retrieve this trinket," a voice comes from the spot where the flames came from, revealing a bald, muscular man in black monk robes. "And a Kage," he says as he eyes Juudai. "I suppose I should be honored that you two personally came."

As luck would have it for the showoff monk, he's not quite fast enough with those flames to strike Shuuren. The Daimyo leaps into the air, landing gracefully about twenty feet away from the strike distance of the flames. He eyes the man before him, specifically the kanji on the side of his robe meaning Darkness. "… So that's it… The Cult of Darkness, or Order as they like to call themselves… I thought you were just a legend told for the monks to keep their young recruits in line, yet here you are in flesh and blood." Lifting an eyebrow, he asks, "What the nitroglycerine are you doing attacking a caravan? Don't you have some dark candles to be lighting somewhere or something?"

Sending up her chakra she attempts to use her passive power over seals to stop the attack but it ends up breaking the seal and stabbing right into her. She winces as she feels the blade slash her across the gut. S he looks down and growls before making several hand seals with her left hand. One hand making the seals attempts to grab hold of the attacker's shirt while the right hand creates a charge of chakra across it. She then pushes off and away as she slams her hand toward the attacker to unleash a shaped charge while also leaving behind a piece of seal paper simply charged with explosive chakra where she tried to grab his shirt, "Well, seems this group does have teeth after all."
There's this growl, and suddenly there's a figure dashing out from under the wagon. Mika runs right past Shuuren, and goes into attack mode, no longer wearing any robes. She's got the trademarked Shuuren Stretchers combat gear on. AKA, Streachy clothes. Mika goes into a wild combination of strikes at the monk, going into a wild frenzy. The Kitten finishes the frenzied attack, moving over to Shuuren's side, purring while rubbing her hand accross her cheek. And yes…That is a Catgirl standing next to him. Note the Tail and the Ears! No touchy them!

Despite Mika's showing, attacking the guy who just attacked the strongest person you know without observing his actual abilities at least a little is generally just a bad idea. When she charges, he breathes forth a rather concentrated ball of flame directly at her with intent to blast her back to where she came from. "You talk a lot, Daimyo, but please do talk all you want while you can because the day is coming that your tongue will no longer be yours to command, just like the rest of you. Enjoy your life. Soak it in before it no longer belongs to you." With that he breathes out another of those fireballs, this time directed toward Shuuren.

Meanwhile over at Juudai's spot, the guys she's left fighting are apparently at least a bit skilled, as they manage to barely avoid her attacks and live to come at her again.
Though Mika might get roasted by that, she kinda earned that herself. He dodges the ball heading is way by simply leaping over it. In that same motion he is aimed directly at the monk with a glowing blade of chakra surrounding his hand that he aims directly at the man's shoulder, careful to avoid causing fatal injury since this man apparently has some kind of vital information. "What are you talking about? Who do you think is going to be able to control me?"

The next attack by the enemies have her blinking as she sighs and blocks it easily this time. She jumps away and drops two weapons at her feet as she moves away. The explosions that follow are one that is bright and loud followed by one that is devestating. She sighs, "That lot was quite annoying." She checks her side and frowns at the blood, "It has been some time since someone has been able to bring me harm." She then looks to the monk and frowns, "Why is it that there are always fools out there who believe they have found the right answers to the questions that can't be answered."

Though he's roasted the catgirl, the monk is unable to avoid the incoming strike by Shureun. This winds up in his shoulder literally being sliced THROUGH by the Daimyo and his arm falling off. He cries out in pain a bit, stepping back, except then he actually smirks at Shuuren, saying, "It doesn't matter that I die here. We got what we came here for." Apparently he's capable of One-Handed Seals, as he then brings one hand into a seal and breathes out a jet of flame toward Shuuren.
Meanwhile those Juudai is fighting seem to almost get away before getting blasted away. There aren't many left now, only 3 but they're still fighting as if there were 1000 of them.

For once Shuuren actually doesn't get out of the way in time, the flames hitting him and sending him back a bit. As he skids back and regathers his footing, he looks over to the caravan, spotting the driver, who is dead and looks rather like he was tortured, probably for information… A scowl crosses the Daimyo's face for once and he charges the man again, aiming this time at his sternum, though avoiding killing him just yet. "You tortured and killed an old man making ends meet all for what? The measly amount of information he might have on what my day to day activities are and where I might be going? What is it that you want from me?"

Once more they come in at her and Juudai notes what Shuuren notes. She growls softly as she hears the monk and the men attacking her simply end up slashing at her paper thin barrier that is able to take care of the blow without an issue. She looks at the old man, she looks back at the cart, and she idly pulls out a small orb. She looks over at Shuuren and holds up the orb, "Shuuren, I'm going to rip this area apart. I'm killing these men and this monk and I don't intend to leave a scrap of them behind." She then looks at him, "DO you have a good way to remove your present and fast? I intend to make an example of a group of people here and now." For now, she doesn't start charging it but instead glares at the men who have been attacking her, she then looks back at Shuuren, "That…or send the monk flying and I'll just give him this present."

Unable to get out of the way once again, the monk is doubled over before Shuuren with the chakra blade sticking into his gut. He looks over at Juudai, a dark smirk touching his lips before he looks back to Shuuren. "… It looks like you won't get to know what you want, but I'll tell you this… We do you honor… You will bring the Darkness… But your part will soon be over… Better act quickly or your trinket will be lost."
As Juudai starts her charge, Shuuren looks over her way, lifting an eyebrow. With only a few men left, she wants to detonate the whole area and make a show for some example. "… Son of a." He looks back to the monk, scowling in thought before he finally just throws the man over where Juudai is while bringing his hands into a seal. Quickly he creates a few Shadow Clones to grab the wagon and move it back to the location of the one they came in, where Mika, Shu, and Kaneko happen to all be hiding out at the moment. "… Do what you must," the Daimyo as, casting a glance at the monk again before flickering to appear back over where the others are.
Having given Shuuren a round of reprieve, the charging power starts to flow into the ball now as she watches the man land near her. She watches Shuuren move. She shakes her head at Shuuren, "I will not have fools like this here anymore." She states, "I don't know who you are and frankly I don't care. I don't care about your darkness. I am sick of fools like you who rule by fear and pain. Who believe only the strongest deserve to live. You have come to my land. You and every other fool I have run into late." SHe then holds up the orb as she finishes charging it, "Look upon your last moments and despair." She then drops the orb at the monk's feet, "Use these last moments for a realization. No matter what future you see for Shuuren, for me, or for this world…you will not live to see it fail." She then stands up and starts walking away, "Consider that my mercy to you." Even as she walks off the energy flowing into the orb seems to simmer as gas begins to leak out, "Shuuren, you have seconds." She pulls on her current cigar as she walks away and gas begins to fill the area behind her.
While Juudai is busy giving her speech to barely conscious, basically dead men, Shuuren and his clones have hitched the wagon carrying the gift to the back of the other one. With that done his horses are able to get the C4 out of Dodge to get out of the blast radius of what she's about to do. The Daimyo doesn't look back, simply leaving it to her while he thinks on the monk's words… /He/ will bring the Darkness… but his part is almost over? That thing is dead with no way back this time. Just what are these monks planning?… Oh well. That's a question for another day. For now he's just gotta stay outside the blast radius and wait until he can come back around and pick Juudai up.
Even as the monk is left in a feint cloud, Juudai simply draws deeply of her cigar as the blast goes off. The damage his horrific. The blast going upward and around the area. All the air within the radius of the blast turned into fuel for the massive blast that rips rocks up and sends debris flying in all directions. The monk and the men at the center are left as nothing more than vamporized matter even as she walks along, "I can't stand these fools." She shakes her head anymore as she draws her cigar, "Too many men with agendas. Whatever happened to people just wanting money and power?" She sighs.

"This world gets more corrupted all the time it seems. It's up to those who can see it to try to correct it, but it will take time, perhaps more time than we have, but we will continue to strive forward," Shuuren says as he drives the wagon back up to where Juudai stands. "You'll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy your cigars now. The others are all healed and stuffed in the cabin. They'll probably sleep for a long while. I've also got some sake in a scroll on me if you want something to take the edge off." Extending a hand down to her to help her up on the wagon, he asks, "Shall we?"
