Suna nin deal with a rogue-nin gang possessing an unusual armament.
"The Black Shell Gang"
A mid-sized town [Land of Wind]
It's another beautiful day in the Land of Wind. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and a large black half-sphere is trundling into a medium-sized town. o.O The citizens stare and murmur as the strange object goes down the street, a few of them having to hop it rather suddenly to get out of its path. What the alien-looking contraption is doing becomes suspicious as it nears the town bank, and then blatantly apparent when it rams right through the wall! D:
Inside the bank, specifically within the vault, several hatches on the weird vehicle flip open, and out pour several masked men. A couple of them race over to the vault door and obstruct it from opening, while the rest quickly load as much cash as they can lay hands on into their transport. After less than a minute of this, they all pile back into the tank and hit the reverse, pulling out of the hole they just made and making to head off into the sunset. What a bizarre heist!
But wait! There is hope yet for the townsfolks' wallets! Sunagakure intelligence caught wind of this gang's movements, and they sent a team of ninja to deal with them! Said team is just now arriving in town, because getting there in time to stop the heist from ever happening would've been less exciting wasn't feasible. So that's your situation Suna team, the Black Shell Gang is making off with the town's money! What do?
Uh, okay. So apparently Arika is leading this mission, what? The girl is about as baffled as any other, especially considering…. Well, let's not get into that. Hopefully this mission goes okay, though, and she can always look to Ayumu or Jiro for a bit of help, right? The team would get to the town, not sparing a moment to actually arrive and scope out what was happening. Okay, so there's a giant black shell thingy filled with people that have people's money. "Umm… D'you think we can cut it up? Or maybe Ayumu-san could somehow sneak into it?" she suggests uncertainly.
That thing is mighty strange looking to Jiro but, well, he wasn't going to be stopped from helping out since it was with Arika and all. The young Amaro is standing right next to the older girl and kind of staring at the giant rolly poley thing. "Tha's…weird…" he mutters, not really having seen anything quite like it before. "I c'n try an' cut it with my cloth," he says, pulling off the sash cloth from around his waist. "Dunno if it'll 'elp though." He glances to Ayumu to see what the no-longer-Suna type has to say about it all.
Indeed, Ayumu was not in charge despite being the more seasoned shinobi, but that had largely been by choice than politics or something else. Their expectations however remain clear to the Iga, eliciting many a dreary sighs from the man during the teams travel. And then they are the town, just in time to sense/see the roley-poley gang make their exit.
"Hm? Ah.. no, not while it is mobile I'm afraid. My sneaking in that is, though cutting it up should certainly be possible, yes." He nods vigorously. "Crippling it at least, but.. the decision is yours, Arika-san. One I'd make quick, unless your intent is to try and track them." On that note, Ayumu began rubbing his chin and pondering on how anyone has been having trouble not bringing the gang in. It wasn't as if they were subtle…
While the shinobi stand there and debate the best course of action, the Black Shell Gang makes their way past the edge of town and starts into the wilderness. By the way, the way the sun glints off that semi-sphere makes it look like it's made of cast-iron or something. Probably pretty durable whatever it is, considering they smashed into the bank vault with it!
Arika squints at the strange shell thingy. "Well, it's worth a try! Don't let 'em get away, whatever happens!" she says, pretty straightforward in her approach. "Maybe we c'n trip 'em up or something…" she muses as she dashes forward, considering the giant hulking thing. Then she looks back towards Jiro and Ayumu. Then the village. She could really do anything for now… Just wait. And maybe send some cutting wind to try and slash through the armor on that odd vehicle. "Ayumu-san, try and figure out any weaknesses it has!" she says. "And me 'n Jiro-kun can try cutting it up or stopping it!" Yeah, that plan will do. Sure…
As the rolling ball of metal starts making it's way away, Jiro gives chase, grumbling a bit as the thieves try to make off with all the villages valuables. "Tha's not cool…" he mutters before looking to Arika and nodding a bit. Then he jumps forward quickly, flashing into place next to the ball before he gives it a few good whips with the cloth, hardening it into steel like sharpness before it hits. Best way to see if he can even scratch the thing!
Ayumu takes off along with the others, though he largely trailed behind them, dividing his attention between them and the ball. While he cannot launch a tongue far enough or fast enough to confirm its quality, his nose more than makes up for it once they are behind it. Well, /if/ they followed behind it, but ultimately it did not matter.
The orders from Arika earns her a small smile from the Iga, as well as a curt nod. A moment later, Jiro is hammering away at the thing, relying on brute force and wild luck as far as Ayumu can sense. "Hmm… Center sides, Arika-san, or a good strong uplifting gale aughta break its traction." He says while calmly wrapping an explosive tag around a kunai.
*PING!* Yeah, direct cutting attacks don't seem to have much effect. I mean, a strong enough wind technique or something could probably cleave through the shell, but even a shinobi capable of that would likely be better served finding a more intelligent solution to the problem.
Arika nods a bit to Ayumu's suggestion, thinking… "Maybe …. If we get far enough from the village, I could really go at it. But 'til then, let's try to get it upside-down!" Turtle the half-sphere? Well, okay! "Ayumu-san can help me with that, right? And then Jiro-kun, you try to dart in and make sure no one escapes once we flip it over!" She nods a bit, then glances to Ayumu. When he's ready (and if he accepted the task), she would make a few handseals and aim a burst of air right at the tires/wheels that the thing is traveling on to try and get it to go flying onto its 'back'
Alright so it's definitely a nice strong metal that he can't cut through. That would've been the /easiest/ method of course, so this just means that Jiro has to do something strange and painful. Think. It really does hurt sometimes. The boy listens to Arika's instructions before he nods, grinning toothily at her before he rushes to stay in front of the half-ball so that if/when it ends up flipping over they won't be able to run out the front without meeting up with the kid. And maybe his youth and innocent appearance will help make them think he's harmless. MUWHAHAHA!
Three separate kunai bore tags by the time the new order comes in. After giving no more thqan a simple nod, Ayumu let fly all three kunai at the same time before Arika's technique truly formed. His intent had been to destroy the tracks while hopefully uplifting the tank just enough for the wind to do the rest, but just what were the odds of that succeeding?
Hmmm, realism or Rule of Cool…oh what the hey, the idea that the passengers of something so heavy could propel it with any useful speed isn't that realistic either. ;) *BOOMWHOOSH!* The explosive tags lift the front end of the black tank and Arika's wind tips it the rest of the way, causing the contraption to tumble onto its 'back'. There's a lot of muffled shouting from inside, then several hatches pop open. Interestingly enough, the men who tumble out take the hatches with them, detaching them from the vehicle and bearing them as shields. "Get the big one first!" one of them shouts, and they all rush at Ayumu trying to crush him between their armor plates. >.<
Arika blinks when a bunch of guys come out. Seems like they're underestimating the two smaller shinobi, though! Arika signals to Jiro to get them from behind, since they have their backs to the Amaro by charging Ayumu, while she sends a giant burst of downwards wind to try and stop them in their tracks from the side.
Oh wow these are some brave (or foolish) folks to not even try and run with their loot. They just head right on for the biggest and baddest of the shinobi. They must not be right in the head. That being said, Jiro isn't about to let Ayumu take them all on by himself, not that he doubts the Iga could. Jiro just wants to have some fun too! When the men start chasing towards Ayumu the young Amaro hops forward and whips out his steel cloth, attempting to wrap around the leg of the person that's the furthest behind to try and trip him up so that Jiro can separate him from the group and prepare to whoop on him some.
What sounded almost like joints popping precedes the dropping of two short spear-like bars of iron from the Iga's sleeves and into waiting hands. In the next moment, he snaps into a stance as if he intended to rush forward and meet the charging shields. He may have followed through with it too, but then, Jiro and Arika just had to take a piece of the action. A weak chuckle escapes him just as one spear is launched after the other, further off-balancing Jiro's target by striking the top half of the shell, and with any luck, the second would knock down one of Arika's as well.
With his hands free once more afterwards, Ayumu wastes no time in summoning a shadow clone to his side.
Jiro's target gives a surprised grunt of nonsense syllables as his leg is arrested. >.<; Instead of falling, though, he manages to turn around with a hop and make a backhanded swing of his shield at Jiro. These guys might be just a desperate collection of bandit-nin with a weird gimmick, but they're not total pushovers! Arika's wind does push down on two of the gang members, but one of them turns around from a kneeling position and faces his shield at Arika, launching a few shuriken at her from some mechanism inside. Of course, as a result of that he's wide open for Ayumu's thrown iron bar. x.x His companion keeps his shield facing forward and intercepts the other bar that was headed for Jiro's opponent. Finally, the remaining gangster was fast enough to avoid the area of Arika's gust, and throws himself at Ayumu in a shield-first tackle.
Arika blinks a bit when it seems the bandit has random shuriken. They end up hitting her, the girl practically running into them. The scratches she got heal, though, or are in the process of healing when she charges right at the guy who attacked her, slamming into his side and relying on her speed to rush him so fast he can't avoid it. Stupid shields ruining her plans of getting all of them at once!
Jiro's grin widens when he manages to wrap up the leg of one of the thieves and he starts to tug on the cloth but…oh wait, he didn't fall. There's a moment of dumbfounded stupidity before he takes some metal plating in the face. Ouch. Jiro falls on his rump but doesn't release the hold on his cloth. He glares up at the man before rolling backwards and jumping to his feet, then giving the still clinging cloth a yank to try and pull the punk off balance.
'Don't think'
'Don't falter'
'Don't… hesitate'
As the thoughts come to minds of both original and copy one after the other, the duo flashed through a set of seals before diving to the sides. The shield barrier might catch one or even both of them, but not without having to push past the very same wind that made their escape all the quicker.
'We must—'
'End this quick'
With any luck, their able to hit the ground rolling. Neither bothers turning about to face their opponent. Instead, following the forming of a single seal, the bindings on their ponytail splinters from its rapid expansion. Soon enough, a tidal wave of crimson would either enclose the shield barrier caught between the two clones, or reconsider not making a break for it.
The guy who attacked Arika is still recovering from getting Ayumu's bar in the side when Arika tackles him from the other side. x.x The result of this is not pretty, as he topples sideways and lands on the bar, driving it deeper into him. X.X His nearest friend turns and gapes. "Y-you killed Doru-kun! You little hellion, you didn't even give him a chance to surrender!" DX He pulls a kunai from a compartment in his shield and takes a wild stab at Arika. The guy fighting with Jiro isn't pulled off balance so easily — he's a lot bigger than Jiro, after all! But he is distracted by the cries of his comrade, and furrows his brow at Jiro. "Y-you guys do that kind of thing?! All the rumors say Suna nin are more conservative than — " "GYAAAAHH!!!" The bandit's jaw drops in horror as he witnesses his other compatriot enveloped in what looks to him like a gruesome, multi-stabby, really frickin' creepy hair-death. D8 He immediately starts trying to hack Jiro's cloth free of his ankle. "Lemme go, lemme go! Keep the money, I just wanna leave!!!" ;.;
Ooops… Arika didn't mean to kill they guy! ;_; She just … you know… wasn't thinking too hard when she charged into his side »;; The girl is so surprised that he died that she didn't even have the chance to avoid the stab, and the kunai embeds itself into her shoulder. Owwie! That hurt! Okay, that changes things… The girl eyes the new attacker, eyes darker than usual, and she disappears with a burst of wind aiding her footsteps, reappearing behind the man and slamming her elbow into the back of his head. The good news: she isn't that strong, so the worst it could do is knock him out.
Jiro doesn't seem to mind the robber death. After all it's a bad person to be stealing so much from people! Jiro would never do anything like that. He only steals /small/ things. Not whole vaults of money. When the man asks he just continues to grin, "We dun like bad people 'ere." He says, hardening the cloth into steel so that the only thing the swinging blade is met with is a loud ringing sound. "Put down yer weapons'n the money an' I won't hurt ya."
Truth be told, a few of those strands /did/ come with barbs. They just weren't directed at killing the imprisoned bandit. Oh dear no! Their purposes was more akin too… cattle prods? Yes, something along those lines. Just a few jabs in the hand, and arms to get the imprisoned bandit to let go of the shield. As soon as it is free of the man's grip a few those strands drag it out of the weave. Such fine work, and yet not one of the Iga appeared to be even remotely focused on the task at hand. Then again, they needed not swivel their heads or strain themselves ot monitor the battle.
"Another drop for kindle, eh, Yu-yu?" The original simply shakes his head lightly. "Sheesh, if your gonna be like that I mine as well take over from here."
"Do what you will," Is Ayumu's curt response before loosening up his portion of the binds. His efforts are slow going, but soon there remains only a neat cocoon with just barely enough breathing space for the trapped man to breathe. Ayumu does not wait to see how the copy responds before making his way casually to Arika's opponent, sensors slipping free from shrinking locks and scattering throughout the area.

The hysterical bandit who just stabbed Arika gives a twisted smile of bitter satisfaction — then a look of cheated desperation when she disappears, followed by blank surprise as he topples forward unconscious. o.o *PAF* The one by Jiro whimpers as his wrist stings after meeting the hardened cloth with his blade. "Okay, okay, I give up! Don't get crazy on me!" ;.; So, that's one dead, one tightly bound, one unconscious, and one surrendered…looks like the Black Shell Gang is all dealt with. n.n
…UNLESS THERE'S ANOTHER ULTRA-STRONG GUY STILL HIDING IN THE TANK!!! >8O
…But nah, it's empty apart from the loot. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Arika sticks her tongue out childishly at the man she just felled, then pulls the kunai out of her shoulder, which means it bleeds a bunch more. Yayyyyy~~. Fortunately, the bleeding isn't too bad, so she doesn't worry about it. Yeah! The girl peers at the guy she felled and peeks over at Ayumu. "Ayumu-san can tie these guys up. And me and Jiro-kun can get all the money they stole and give it back to the town!" She nods, making a handseal that creates a shadow clone to help lug things back. "Oh, and Ayumu-san can carry back the prisoners!" Make the biggest one do all the heavy lifting!
Sounds like a plan to Jiro. He makes sure that Ayumu has his person before he releases the cloth, still grinning despite the bruise he'll have on his face from that smash earlier. Ah well. He does his part, taking the money back to town that he has to, and maybe skimming just a tiny coin or two off the top. Surely no one will miss that, right? With that done, and with Ayumu doing all the heavy lifting, Jiro is glad to head back to Suna with a job well done and a little bonus.
