"The Split Patrol"

Land of Lightning

Michiko had called together a small patrol. Sure, it's a bit strange for there to be a patrol with the second in command and two Chuunin, but it is what it is. Michiko stands at the gates of Kumogakure, the girl reading a book of all things as she leans against the gate in anticipation for her teammates' arrival. "Interesting…" she muses quietly to herself as she flips through the pages. This particular book involved poisonous plants.

Arashi would head out with a yawn, and upon arriving at the gates wave towards Michiko. She was reading a book, so she may not have not noticed. Either way he would probably pull out his own book before speaking up. "So anything specific about this patrol. Nothing to worrisome is it. I mean considering who is going on it the risk must be higher then normal?"

Arriving at the gate, Furoo leans on a wall and peers at Arashi and then at Michiko, "So, we under seige or something? Or we just going to become so much more hardcore than before? We doing a new thing where Hiei has a team, Michiko has a team, and maybe the head of the Reizei will have a team? Genin are the new students?" She chuckles and then shrugs, "Just seems like overkill."

"We still have the Storm Brigade to worry about, sadly," Michiko points out, not looking up from her book. The girl marks the spot and tucks the read away for now. "That being said, yes, this patrol is a bit overkill. But better something than nothing, hai? We're going on a fairly long route today, so we'll be splitting up a bit. Arashi-san, you'll be heading directly to the village that's five miles south of us. Furoo-san, you'll be taking the trail that goes around the small mountain before it reaches the town. I'm going to be handling the other side of the mountain. Questions?"

Arashi listens closely before nodding his head. "Okay so I head directly to the village? Alright fine with me I suppose." He makes sure everything on him is together once last time before checking the others. "Alright I am good to go. I guess I will meet you two there." He moves slightly along the path. Slow enough though to see if they had anything to say first.

A salute and Furoo chuckles, "Sounds like a great deal of fun if you ask me. Off on my own with enemies possibly looming on either side." She grins and then taps her chin, "Should I perhaps give them a handicap?" She chuckles before shrugging, "Either way, we meet at the village then, yeah? If someone is late we head off and help or we just wait? I mean, don't want to spoil anyone else's fun but at the same time don't want anyone risking death."

"It's currently noon. If people don't return by sunset, assume that something is wrong. Hai?" With those instructions, Michiko would let everyone scatter before she would continue along her own route. Like most cases, the beginning of the journey was never fun. It was quite boring, even, but both shinobi might be able to use that time to think or something equally as fun. So long as they kept an eye out for anything suspicious, right? Michiko would test the ground every once in a while, checkin got the one-mile radius around her every half-mile she traveled. Nothing so far, though, so things were going fine?

Arashi simply kept moving then. He had heard that if it is sunset before the others arrive then he may need to worry, but he figured the others had better chances to be safe then he did. Anyways it wouldn't take long for him to get very bored, and with a yawn he pulls a book from his pack. Although he does read some every once in a while he is keeping an eye out. Maybe if anyone wants to attack they will think he is distracted when in fact he isn't.

Taking to it like a race, Furoo races off in her direction with some incredible speed even though she isn't at all using blur. She just takes off at a healthy clip. She grins as she goes, looking around as she moves and seeming more than absolutely happy to be out for this run. She really does hope someone is dumb enough to attack her because, well, she's kinda itchin' for a good fight.

Well, it apparently doesn't take long for Furoo and Daichi to be attacked. The bandits on the trail just couldn't help but attack such easy-looking targets. One was a female (that obviously implies weakness, right?) and the other was just casually reading! What luck! Each group of bandits was comprised of 3-7 people…
First let's zoom over to Furoo. It seems her group has 7 folk in it! All of them are armed with swords, and it seems as if they might have a few other female 'trinkets' in their grasp. Furoo would only see signs of a recent fire, as the group had largely scattered. The ashes were still cooling, though, so they can't be far.
Arashi's group… Well, he would quite literally stumble upon them as they were trying to make a trap for the Hizumu. A giant hole had been made using earth jutsu, and they were standing on the side opposite from Arashi and talking about plans with their backs turned towards the Hizumu…

Arashi puts his book away, and without a word raises his hands out in front of him. The hole in the ground is enough a reason for him to do this. He fires off two beams, and each one splits into threes to hit each man. Once they were fired he would move back some, so he would hopefully be out of range of another hole in the ground.

Arriving at her location, Furoo taps her chin as she looks at the cooling ashes. She then looks around casually to the left and right and then forward and then back before she walks around the fire idly and then states, "So, you gotta be around here somewhere." She hmms and nods her head, "And that means you all wanna get beat up real good." She nods her head and then starts looking left and right, "Ok, so, I have an idea." She then sits right down next to the fire and grins, "I'm gonna take a nap." She then flops on to her back and feigns going to sleep."

EEP! The trio across the way didn't think Arashi would be able to reach the :( Two of them end up getting zapped, but they take more care not to get hit by the second as they prepare their jutsu. The final dude avoids the first laser, but he is knocked back by the second. Then the trio just get up and brace themselves before unleashing a barrage of mudbullets at Arashi. Take that, you nasty Hizumu D<
Furoo might get a rude awakening if she really does fall asleep. Six of the seven targets move down all sneakily after a few minutes of waiting before they try to just flat out attack her with their swords that they have! Yep. They know how to not use them! Most of the attacks go a bit wide, as the ones that don't know what they're doing try to avoid hitting their comrades in the thick of things.

Arashi being the guy who rarely moves around when he finally has to he gets clipped. Great. Now he had something else that would need healing. Anyhow now he would once again move to avoid the last few before stopping a little early being hit by the last one. He puts his hands up again before firing two more lasers that once again would split into three seperate beams. These explosions need to take these guys out unless he was doomed…

And they swing and slash and slash and swing at the area where Furoo was. They are just tearing up that dirt! Even as they finish swinging they might all at once realize they were swinging at nothing even as Furoo stands about ten feet away from them standing on her tip toes peering at the spot where she was, "Soooo…what you guys swinging at?" She hmms and peers at them and then back at the ground, "You sure seem set on killing whatever that was." She points at the dirt where they swung, "Sure glad I wasn't there." She then looks around, "So anyway…" Then she seems to vanish in a burst of speed, appearing briefly by each man and then stopping at the other side, "…this is the part where you fall down."

Furoo is quite adept with that weapon of hers, unlike her attackers. They try to avoid the strikes, but they all end up getting cut up like cheese or something. Yeah, so now Furoo has a bunch of injured slavers on her hands when a huge net drops down onto her. If she doesn't notice it in time, she would be caught up in it! And then they could capture her that much easier~.
Arashi would be able to kill two of the random bandits, but the one remaining was able to avoid the Hizumu's attacks. "Oh no!" he says, noticing that his companions are dead. Well, Arashi's gotta pay for that, so the man makes a handseal, and a hand of earth would shoot up and try to grab Arashi!

Arashi watched as two of his beams connected with their targets. They got shot down quick both seemingly being killed by the explosion. Sadly before he was able to do anything else a hand rose up from the ground to grab him. Sadly he is caught and unable to move at all.

And with that, Furoo watches the men fall only to have a net fall on to her and then she blinks as it falls on her, "A net…?" She then looks at it and then looks around before looking at the net and then sighs as she idly stands there, "ok, so, who threw a net cause I'm killing you. This is the level of stupid I can't begin to describe." She then considers the net idly, looking at it and not panicking in it, just staring at it as she idly reaches down to her hip to try to pull out a kunai.

The earth user makes a few handseals, creating a dragon of earth so that Arashi would be pelted by a lot of earthen bullets at once. Take that you evil shinobi! Just attacking them and all that, gosh :| Of course, the earthen bullets also wear away at the demonic grave that held Arashi, so he should be able to break free once he withstands the barrage.
Furoo would get to see a man, the main slaver, step up. He peers at Furoo and grumbles. "Not good enough… And you cut up my men…" The man steps back and signals for his men to get ready, and then a whip with thorns along it would come striking down upon Furoo. It would tear into her skin, even as the other swords start slashing and the like. Of course, sharp things + net —> bad for the net, so Furoo can get free pretty easily if she isn't too badly injured.

RPCOMBAT: Arashi took 500 damage.

Arashi is stuck as the earth dragon pelts him als destroying his cage of sorts. He lands on the ground slightly angry, and puts his hands up. Two beams just for him, and hopefully this would send him to find his buddies again. Once they fired off he would begin looking for a way to, and then crossing the path to ignore the hole in the ground, and he could hopefully move on after that. Otherwise if he was to live he would ready some lightning in his palms.

The man who comes out with her caught in a net catches her eye. She looks at the man and then winces as she is whipped and turns with the whipping, screeching out in pain and then nearly dropping to a knee. She then growls and suddenly yells out in rage as she rips open the net. She stands up and points at the man, "You get a full fifty percent." She then licks her lips before vanishing. She rushes by the man, attempting to whip his leg out from under him with a smashing blast of her staff before she turns around and rushes back at him. With full force she attempts to slam the staff right into the small of his back and push him down to the ground. The sheer force with which she'll aim the staff would put the man not just into the ground but possibly crater the ground if it hits. Like a pole vaulter, she'll ride the attack up and over only to land on the opposite side from him and then state, "I hope your spine is broken."

The person Arashi was facing would try to avoid the laser, but he was a bit too slow, and he ended up getting zapped into oblivion! Well, he fell forward into the very hole he dug, but still… He had dug his own grave, in that sense…? Furor's enemy wouldn't even make a sound. Sure, he tried to keep up with the Reizei, but she was gone faster than his eye could see, and then he was broken in half. If he wasn't dead from that, he was definitely paralyzed for good… The men around him sort of shuffled awkwardly before they started to flee.

Arashi was now sure that he was good for the time being. For that reason he pulled out his book again doing the same thing as he walked along towards the village. No need to keep the others waiting any longer then he already had, but still he now had to keep an extra eye out in case of more attackers.

Finishing up with the man who had struck her, Furoo looks at those fleeping and whips out both her half staves. She looks at the men fleeing and then she disappears before reappearing on the other side of the men. Each strike is barely visible as she hits each one in passing before appearing on the other side and shaking her head, "You people really divide me off." She then releases her chakra and turns and starts off, "I'm gonna send people to come drag your bodies back to Kumogakure. Don't go anywhere now." She then idly walks off toward the village and shakes her head, "Bunch of jerks attacking someone who just wanted a fight, not a whipping with a thorn whip." She shakes her head, "Who even uses a thorn whip? That's like so against the rules. Thorn whips and nets." She shakes her head.

RP: Furoo reverts to her normal state.

Well, at least Furoo and Arashi don't have anyone else to deal with! The rest of the patrol would go with nothing exciting happening. Michiko didn't encounter a single thing, by the looks of it. Or she just sorta… Knocked people down before they got to her. One or the other. Either way, she looked perfectly fine! The girl blinks a bit at the pair when they finally make it to the meetup spot and says, "Looks like you two ran into some trouble. Need a spot of healing?"

Upon arriving he looks at the other two. Furoo seemed injured as well, but Michi…was fine. "Ummm yeah I could use some healing. I think I could survive until we get back, but you seem healthy enough to do it. You didn't encounter anyone?" He frowned, and continued reading his book for now expecting her to do some healing.

COMBAT: Michiko heals Arashi for 1181 with RESTORING CHAKRA PALM.

Grumbling as she arrived, Furoo looks at Arashi before she shrugs, "They cheated, is all." She then points back, "There's about seven guys that way who are all in various states of paralysis or death." She shrugs, "They should probably be rounded up. I can't carry 7 people at once." She then looks down, "And I guess I could use healing…then again so could they."

COMBAT: Michiko heals Furoo for 1158 with RESTORING CHAKRA PALM.

When each speak, Michiko would move forward to heal their injuries. They would come away just fine, though they weren't completely healed if the injuries were too serious. "I see… Well, we'll go back that way, then. And I actually did manage to encounter a spot of trouble, but it was almost nothing." Michiko shrugs lightly. "Just a few bandits… I got them before they got me." Then she glances to Furoo before hmming faintly. "Alright. We'll get a cart for the way back and go along Furoo-san's route. Good work, you two."

Arashi would nod slightly as he healed. He was mostly fine now, but he should probably head by the hospital upon arriving back to make sure. Well he was sure, but he didn't need Amani getting on his case about it. Either way he would stay silent most of the time they walked back engrossed in his book.
