Before the Storm Brigade troubles popped up, Kumogakure found themselves dealing with a series of strange events happening within the Land of Lightning's capital: Raiun City. To recap, a small organization decided to take it upon themselves to dispense justice on various criminals. Of course, their 'justice' was a bit harsh. Minor crimes were punished by death, and the absolute worst would be found begging for death if they hadn't passed on already. The ring of 'criminals' were narrowed down to a few specific households, each of them taken care of separately.
After the chaos of the latest world events, things settled down, but the torturers remained at large. This family, which Kumo's intelligence now knew to be the Rangyuza family, had escaped to a neutral territory between the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning. Since any information on the main perpetrator of the violent crimes was known, the shinobi sent on this mission were given very simple instructions: destroy the family.
Naruko was selected because she was already in the Land of Fire. Ryouji was selected because he could move quickly. They were to meet where they could, and a map was given to each of them so that they knew the targets' location. Right now, thanks to it being winter, it was cold and snowing. The clouds obscured the sky enough that it was difficult to tell the exact time, but one could at least guesstimate that it was after noon.
Ryouji runs along with the map rolled up in his hand as he zips along. Snow flies up behind him as he nears the rendezvous with Naruko. The family shouldn't be too far away so Ryouji slows down, dropping to a normal running speed. Ryouji looks at the map once more before coming to a stop at the location. Nodding, he rolls the map up and finds a pine tree, slipping under it's snowy branches to wait for Naruko. Ryouji frowns, looking up at the cloudy sky, unable to spot what time it is exactly. Still, he might be early so he slips against the trunk of the tree, pulling out a pad and pencil to scribble something down for the time being.
Naruko wasn't too far away from Ryouji. As soon as he began to pad a few things down she showed up, body cloaked in gray with a hood shadowing her golden locks. She looked pretty normal, though nothing spelled that she was from Kumo, unless someone could see the necklace hidden under her cloak. With that, she offered Ryouji a slight wave of her hand upon approach, a half smile spilled across her lips. "Normally I'd say Yo but the situation at hand is a bit tense, yeah?" Naruko comments while arching an eyebrow in curiosity. They literally had to destroy an entire family, an evil one at that. They definitely picked the right two people for the job. "Search and destroy, right?" Naruko clarified, not even bothering to dig down into the details just yet.

Ryouji lifts a pencil in greeting, slipping the pad and writing implement away for the time being. Ryouji gives a shrug, "A little, yes. But whether it's rogue clan members, bandits, or an entire family, a target is still a target." He nods to the question, "Right, search and destroy. We can do it a few ways, but we might want to get some intel on their strength before barreling right in." He wishes at this point he would have done it before time, but since Naruko is already there he asks, "You didn't scout out the area already, did you, Naruko-san?" Just to be sure, he makes a hand sign and opens up his chakra senses.

"Not enough to really get a feel for their numbers. Naruko replies back as she takes another look about the area. Really just looking for any traces of footprints in the slow. This mission was going to be a bit tough she felt, depending on the amount of shinobi they were going to face. "Gotcha, let me take a quick look around, see if I can sniff out any fresh scents or check for tracks in the snow. I'm not sure how many we will be dealing with. Whatever the situation I'm sure we can handle it though…" And with that she offers a friendly bow of her head, performing a quick analysis of the area, considering using her shadow clones to help if need be.
Ryouji would really only detect chakra from his own companion since the people they were after weren't shinobi. They didn't use chakra. They - or at least the bad people - just hired others to do their dirty work. Naruko would likely be able to tell a bit more thanks to the fact that she had heightened smell and hearing. The scent of smoke indicates there are actually people nearby somewhere. Likely their targets. However, there aren't any footprints to see outside of the two Kumo-nin's. Likely because the snow is still falling and wiping out those kinds of tracks.
As Naruko moves off to try and scout the area, though, she would find that the area was more protected than it first appeared. That is to say, she triggered a trap. One of those 'run of the mill' traps that you'd see every day. You step on something, and then a net suddenly hoists you into the air! :O Which is what would happen to Naruko if she didn't avoid it in time.

Ryouji gives a shrug, "No other chakra but yours…" as she moves off to scout around. He keeps an eye on her from his spot under the pine tree before the trap is sprung. He quickly looks at the trap springing, but it's a net, so it's not 'lethal'. Still, no harm in keeping his eyes open as he smiles at Naruko. If she's caught, he could easily cut her down. He pulls a kunai out of the center pocket on his hoodie, just in case she's caught. Then pushes off from the tree to head over there. Well, jig is up at any case. It would be foolish to assume that the family has no way to tell if their traps are sprung. At this point, stealth isn't much of an option. "Family setting traps, while all I do is raps. Can't they see it's a shame, so let me proclaim, that trap was lame!"

It definitely was a close call as the trap was sprung and instantly Naruko found herself rolling off to the side in the snow. The net was raised but thankfully she wasn't caught within it. "Whoa…did not see that coming…" Naruko huffed under her breath as her eyes set upon Ryouji to whom she exudes a pleasant smile. "Totally definitely a lame trap, even looking at it now it couldn't do crap…" Naruko then wipes the snow from her knees, standing up start and pointing a finger off in the linger faintess scent of smoke. "But i'm pretty sure over yonder they ponder… There may be no need to be too quiet because it seems like they may fight like pirates." Naruko muses and lastly shakes her head. "Let's just try and make sure we get them all, no survivors." An odd thing to say for such a laid back Uzumaki.

Lame traps they may be (even the GM agrees c.c;), but that doesn't mean those traps were the only thing that the pair needed to worry about. There were a few … 'guards' lingering outside of the house that their targets were staying in. None of them used chakra, of course, so Ryouji wasn't able to pick up on them. But they did look like they had fought in more than a few fights, which means they weren't to be taken lightly. They weren't trying to hide, either, though it wasn't completely obvious where they were until the two shinobi drew closer.

Ryouji gives a thumbs up at the rhymes and says, "Sick beats, Naruko-san!" He pulls out a set of kuani explosive tags as his free hand begins to crackle. "Shock and awe time!" he calls out, launching the crackling sphere of lightning behind him. It explodes in a blinding white light that lights up the guards and hopefully blinds them to Ryouji's exact position. Like looking into a spotlight, Ryouji might be hard to see. But while he does that, the tag kunai fly out of his hand, a pair heading to each guard to explode.

As Ryouji had went in to launch the tags and explosive lightning, Naruko followed up, hoping to fan the flames with a turret of wind. She applied a few hand seals and began to weave her hands into the direction of her enemies, winds whipping about the area, sharp enough to be blades in their own merit. She was to trap them in a whirlwind of lacerations while her attention looked further to see if anyone else may have been attempting to get the jump on them. So far the guards didn't seem all that though, at least for now…

Ryouji's attempt to catch the guards off-guard (hahaha…) failed, and they were able to avoid his incoming explosive tags with surprising ease. Of course, then Naruko's wind came about, slicing at them from all angles. They had to move out of the way quickly, but the initial damage was done. Once out of the way, they launched their own attacks. Primarily they just did a lot of THIS and THAT and SHARP THINGS were thrown.

Ryouji tries to dodge the sharp blades coming at him pushing his body into his kekkei genkai, but gets stabbed and turned into a dart board. Ryouji growls, pulling the blades out and looking at them. "Man, you've got to invest in better weapons. This is sad." Making a hand sign, he focuses his chakra, causing the ground around him to swirl. His hoodie flaps around him as he goes fully blurred. "Hurm….got another one in ya?"

The favor was returned as lacerating blades sliced cleanly through Naruko's flesh, her blood coated the snow below red as she staggering back to regain her footing, only to crouch down and release the hidden chakra burning within her. A single tail of black and blue flames erupts from behind her, the same coating of flames moving along one side of her body and wrapping around her right arm. It was almost instant that an orb of fire chakra forged into her hand and from that crouched position she launches herself forward, aiming for a single guard to shove the explosive burning sphere square into their stomach, hopefully to blow them into bits….

Perhaps feeling a bit cocky, the guard Naruko aimed herself at would try to move away. He was just a bit too late, though, and Naruko's attacked hit him right where she wanted to: the middle of his stomach. The poor guy now has a very large hole in his stomach… Luckily, he doesn't have to worry about it since … Well… He's dead >.>; His companion, though, is not, and that man tries to take revenge with more stabby stabby and slashy slash at the pair. Stupid… c.c

Ryouji is ready now and easily sidesteps the blades as if he never was there. Ryouji grips the blade at his hip, sending a slashing line of silver horazontaly across the guard, then up, then down. All in just under a second. The white sword at his hip clicks back into place, as if it never left. Ryouji gives the guard a sideways glance and frowns as he slides his stance wider, ready to really let this guy have it if he's still dumb enough to go against him.

Stabby stabby and slashy slash wasn't really cutting it. Naruko manuvered between each strike of the blade before providing enough motion to swiftly and "strongly" manuver a pair of kicks picking up the winds about her. The tail behind her, allowing her to strike even faster than she normally would in an attempt to catch the guard off footing and send them staggering backwards, Assuming ryouji's quick stance with his own sword didn't dice the man to bits. It was clear that Naruko wasn't at all willing to offer any mercy… instead she kicked back to get some distance, her wounds suffered early slowly begining to heal back up.

So while Ryouji's attacks aren't getting through (why is this baddie so agile??), Naruko's counterattack was able to do the job. At the very least, it knocks this guy into a tree, and he isn't eager to get back up and continue fighting. Playing dead or actually dead, it doesn't really matter. The point is that there aren't any other baddies to fight, and if the two scouted around a bit, they would find the Rangyuza family was all cozied up in their 'house'. … House… Haha… It was actually a bit more like a fortress considering the fact that it was made of metal. They probably paid some Murasame to build it for them or something. But thanks to their home being 'indestructible', they don't seem inclined to run away anytime soon.

Ryouji goes all out for this. Well, more than he usually does. Ryouji cranks up the blur up to master. He'll be feeling it by tomorrow, but this is worth is. Lightning crackles from his hand as he follows through a few hand signs. The lightning jumps out, hitting the ground in front of him as it rears up taking the form of a giant bear. It roars and charges at the building as Ryouji holds his arm out to direct it. It's rare he pulls out Onikuma and this is a perfect time for it.
The roaring bear is making it's way towards the house. It was definitely something Naruko had never witnessed from Ryouji, wasn't he just mostly a sword guy? She grinned at this, obviously destined for a conversation for another day. Naruko would be sure to make this a combined assault though, wishing to make sure the house in it's entirety would be destroyed. Her body hunkers down on all fours, the sound of flesh and bone ripping and sorching out of place as blue and black flames envelope her body which had elongated into a large leopard sized cat. Eyes of blue and moonlight and soon a terrible roar briefly shook the ground, in the wake of her transformation. Suddenly though there is silence, as Beast Naruko opens her maw mixing a form of black and white chakra. It starts off as a massive sphere before condensing down to something far smaller, which then slingshots into the base of the house… Not into the house itself but the ground right before it, hoping to penetrate the flooring and explode upwards into the house. That combined with the lighnting bear, Naruko was sure the effects would be devastating.

Ryouji's giant bear runs into the door that is (unfortunately for the family) not made of metal. Of course, that means that the house has a wide opening for Naruko to take advantage of, and the blue-black flames of the nibi swallow everything in its path. That means that the family is basically no more after all is said and done. Even the house, despite being made primarily of very strong metal, doesn't exist. Well, that's what happens when a tailed beast ball is launched at things… It looks like a mini-meteor hit this area! Mission complete!

Perhaps feeling a bit cocky, the guard Naruko aimed herself at would try to move away. He was just a bit too late, though, and Naruko's attacked hit him right where she wanted to: the middle of his stomach. The poor guy now has a very large hole in his stomach… Luckily, he doesn't have to worry about it since … Well… He's dead >.>; His companion, though, is not, and that man tries to take revenge with more stabby stabby and slashy slash at the pair. Ryouji is ready now and easily sidesteps the blades as if he never was there. Ryouji grips the blade at his hip, sending a slashing line of silver horazontaly across the guard, then up, then down. All in just under a second. The white sword at his hip clicks back into place, as if it never left. Ryouji gives the guard a sideways glance and frowns as he slides his stance wider, ready to really let this guy have it if he's still dumb enough to go against him.

Stabby stabby and slashy slash wasn't really cutting it. Naruko manuvered between each strike of the blade before providing enough motion to swiftly and "strongly" manuver a pair of kicks picking up the winds about her. The tail behind her, allowing her to strike even faster than she normally would in an attempt to catch the guard off footing and send them staggering backwards, Assuming ryouji's quick stance with his own sword didn't dice the man to bits. It was clear that Naruko wasn't at all willing to offer any mercy… instead she kicked back to get some distance, her wounds suffered early slowly begining to heal back up.

So while Ryouji's attacks aren't getting through (why is this baddie so agile??), Naruko's counterattack was able to do the job. At the very least, it knocks this guy into a tree, and he isn't eager to get back up and continue fighting. Playing dead or actually dead, it doesn't really matter. The point is that there aren't any other baddies to fight, and if the two scouted around a bit, they would find the Rangyuza family was all cozied up in their 'house'. … House… Haha… It was actually a bit more like a fortress considering the fact that it was made of metal. They probably paid some Murasame to build it for them or something. But thanks to their home being 'indestructible', they don't seem inclined to run away anytime soon.

Ryouji goes all out for this. Well, more than he usually does. Ryouji cranks up the blur up to master. He'll be feeling it by tomorrow, but this is worth is. Lightning crackles from his hand as he follows through a few hand signs. The lightning jumps out, hitting the ground in front of him as it rears up taking the form of a giant bear. It roars and charges at the building as Ryouji holds his arm out to direct it. It's rare he pulls out Onikuma and this is a perfect time for it.
The roaring bear is making it's way towards the house. It was definitely something Naruko had never witnessed from Ryouji, wasn't he just mostly a sword guy? She grinned at this, obviously destined for a conversation for another day. Naruko would be sure to make this a combined assault though, wishing to make sure the house in it's entirety would be destroyed. Her body hunkers down on all fours, the sound of flesh and bone ripping and sorching out of place as blue and black flames envelope her body which had elongated into a large leopard sized cat. Eyes of blue and moonlight and soon a terrible roar briefly shook the ground, in the wake of her transformation. Suddenly though there is silence, as Beast Naruko opens her maw mixing a form of black and white chakra. It starts off as a massive sphere before condensing down to something far smaller, which then slingshots into the base of the house… Not into the house itself but the ground right before it, hoping to penetrate the flooring and explode upwards into the house. That combined with the lighnting bear, Naruko was sure the effects would be devastating.

Ryouji's giant bear runs into the door that is (unfortunately for the family) not made of metal. Of course, that means that the house has a wide opening for Naruko to take advantage of, and the blue-black flames of the nibi swallow everything in its path. That means that the family is basically no more after all is said and done. Even the house, despite being made primarily of very strong metal, doesn't exist. Well, that's what happens when a tailed beast ball is launched at things… It looks like a mini-meteor hit this area! Mission complete!
