"Uchiha Police Escapee Files: Fuma Yumi"
Fuuma Alley
Some of the escaped prisoners from the day the Storm Brigade attacked Konoha are still at least, particularly some of the trickier ones or ones that know enough about stealth to keep themselves hidden. Generally the Clan Head sends teams after these people, but this one he decided to go after himself. Perhaps he wanted to stretch his legs, or perhaps he wanted to prove to his subordinates that he will not send them to do anything he would refuse to do himself. It could also be that he plans on recruiting this one to Konoha's forces later on once her time has been served if he can manage to rehabilitate her.
Fuma Yumi, a mint-haired woman that's fond of masks, fishnet, and black clothing. She carries something of an enchanting presence about her. One would almost dismiss thoughts of her being a threat were they to not perceive her nature. This woman, however, is quite a formidable assassin. She has injured a number of Konoha shinobi on missions and killed those they were sent to protect. Some might prefer her killed, but her loyalty currently simply lies in money. Tatara hopes to fix that some day.
In a forest near Fuuma Alley, the Clan Head currently stands in a tree with his three-tomoed Sharingan gazing out at the area around him. There is a rather serious look on his face as he searches the place for signs of his target.
Naruko's travels had her fairly versed with the idea of traveling about the Fuuma Alley. A lot of people considered it a crime ridden cesspit but there were nice and fun parts of it, not quite a lawless as many sought to believe. She accompanied the Uchiha Clan Head as an assured companion from Kumo to offer any expertise she may have on the situation/area and honestly just as a show of good nature from one village to the other. The younger Uzumaki didn't quite know him though, so she mostly minded her usual loud tones and remained focus on the situation before them, she always knew the the Uchiha to be a bit "intense".
So the Uzumaki actually stood on a branch a little higher than him, looking out into the distance with a slightly clueless demeanor. "So….what are you trying to look for?" Naruko couldn't help but to ask. Afterall, she hadn't really a clue what the Sharingan actually did. "You have a scent tht I can catch perhaps?"
Fuma Yumi was particularly good at sneaking back into the shadows. She didn't have any particular feelings of gratitude toward the Storm Brigade for freeing her, though. Because they didn't. They simply provided an opportunity, and she took the chance to flee. And she was good enough that she managed to get away cleanly. With her newfound freedom, the first thing she did was change into more comfortable clothes that suited her style.
With that done, she spent a week trying to figure out the situation she was in before she started taking on some small jobs to earn the cash she needed and loved. Each job would slowly lead her back in the direction of the place she planned to hideout in: Fuuma Alley. Now she managed to get a decent dwelling and has a few 'regular' customers. For now, though, she's choosing to spend her time at one of the local drinking spots. Such fun.
Tatara hadn't completely counted on having a companion on this mission, but it's a welcome surprise at least. Perhaps when they're not trying to hunt down a dangerous criminal, Naruko might find out that this Uchiha is a lot more laid back than most of his kin… at least when he's not on a mission. He can be incredibly intense then, but only because he's serious about his duties. Some might even consider him laid back then really, as he doesn't seem to stress out about it. He simply looks out for his target calmly and waits for his opportunity to capture her.
"Mainly her chakra signature or anything that might lead us to her," he answers as he casts a brief glance at the Uzumaki girl before looking out once again. "She's not out here, though, it would seem, so we should check in the village." With that he leaps down from the branch of the tree and begins to head that way. "I don't have anything of hers you could get a scent off of, no, sorry. I do have a picture of her, though." He reaches into his jacket, grabbing the paper with a summary of the woman on it, including her known skills, crimes, and her picture of course, and handing it to Naruko.
Perhaps by some luck the drinking place she is currently inside will be pretty close to where they're looking, but they'll figure that out as they search the area.
"Hmmm…" Naruko muses quietly to herself as she takes the picture into her hand and examines it closely. She looks like a pretty normal girl, no one too threatening… Almost hard to believe that such a person existed within the photo. "Well I guess all I can really do at this point is look out for her. I'm not able to sense chakra…Not that I'd know what to find. So perhaps your eyes would be most needed. Does she know people are out looking for her? Depending on how safe she feels…It might be easy to run into her." Naruko suggested, following in closely behind him as she analyzed the paper further, getting more information about the type of jutsu and other related things that would help. " Stopping for a snack might be a good idea huh? Will give us a bit of room to mingle and ask around for information…while also filling out our stomach…" Naruko suggests, her own stomach growling faintly. The idea was a little self serving.
Yumi didn't expect anyone … She had slipped back into the feeling of security now that she's back in her own town. So she's fairly casual at the moment and just watching various people in the bar as they talk about their latest travels. Mostly, she was just hoping that she'd be able to snag a job out of one of the travelers and maybe even charge a bit more than usual for her services. After all, it's not like they'd know better… Unlike other folk present, she wasn't drinking. She kept her mask up and her head down as she observed potential 'customers'.
Tatara blinks a couple times at that thought then shrugs. "I would assume she knows people are going to be looking for her eventually, but perhaps she thinks she's safe in a city full of people like herself…. Maybe we can get the drop on her and get her out of here quietly. Otherwise we might have to beat up a bunch of other people to drag her in." It doesn't sound like he'd really mind that TOO much, just that it'd simply be a minor inconvenience in their journey so long as they manage to bring Yumi in.
"Alright. We'll find a spot to stop," he says, nodding to Naruko before he turns to glance inside a window of a place… No sign of the girl… and nothing really that looks good to eat… So he keeps walking to try and find another place.
Naruko slightly glanced into the store Tatara was peering into, she muses slightly and simply reaches out to take him by the hand. "Not that place, totally sucks. I know of a good place that sells some awesome Sake AND you can get a bite to eat!" And with that, she snatched his hand further and began to tug him along in the opposite direction (easily resisted if he wished). They would go up a few more feet into a slightly less known "gem" in Fuuma, as Naruko would articulate. " This place is really awesome. We can skip out on the drinks but the food…we definitely have to get something. What kind of foods are you into? Vegetables? Seafood? Red meat?" Naruko appeared to be blabbing on at this point…she also didn't appear to be looking around for this Yumi character. Instead she just kept blabbing about food and drink, ushering Tatara into the store front where Yumi would be located… She was good for something, but she didn't quite know what, yet.
Two ninja walk into a bar, and neither of them look like ninja. Honestly, they look like a couple… Tatara appears on the grumpier side, perhaps, because he's being dragged around by a very eager girlfriend? That's at least how it appears to Yumi… Maybe she trick them somehow… She continues to stay in her little corner of the room, watching Tatara and Naruko for any openings that might allow for her to either steal from the pair or otherwise con them. She didn't think they'd have need of her assassination abilities, sadly. She could get a lot more money using them…
Tatara blinks when his hand is grabbed, but he doesn't resist. The Clan Head is not used to being led around by the hand, but he hasn't had much social interaction that wasn't for the purpose of building the clan in some way in a long while. The cons of working hard toward a dream. It's all worth it, though, if his dream for the Uchiha can one day be achieved.
"Sounds good," he agrees with a smirk as he follows along behind the Uzumaki or rather is dragged willingly to where she wants to go. As they enter, however, he blinks as he sees their target right there… There are a few ways to handle this, but perhaps subtlety is the best route at this point if it can be achieved. Of course, at this point he can't tell if Naruko is oblivious or just a really good actress since she doesn't seem to notice Yumi at all so far.
What's more… Their target doesn't seem to know who he is. Tatara seems to have a lot of bind luck today… So he plays along with the part of boyfriend being dragged around and simply walks with Naruko to find a seat. "I like almost anything. Do you have a favorite?" he asks with a laid back smile, easing into the role of the enamored new boyfriend until the opportune time to strike comes.
"Heck yes I have a favorite!" Naruko simply replies back, the two of them where guided to a set of stools near the front of the bar, behind it was an assortment of delicious mind altering beverages combined mixed with the scent of fresh smoked foods. "Smoked salmon is definitely up there if you like the rawness of the fish but afraid of eating something uncooked…" Naruko explains, not suggesting that she had any problems eating raw food of course. With that simple comment she begins to scout her eyes around the room, looking for a waiter… or someone to serve them up. "Oy. I think we are ready to order!" Naruko simply calls out, adding attention to themselves, though not quite malicious as it may have originally seemed.
Naruko's voice cuts through what din there is within the bar, and someone comes over with a fairly grumpy expression. "Whaddya want?" the bartender asks with a bit of a sigh, tapping his fingers along the bar top as he waits. Yumi would watch as most of the eyes in the bar turned from their conversation partner to the very loud Uzumaki, and a few of them gave the recently-arrived couple some dirty looks. Maybe now was a good time…
Still clinging to the shadows a bit, Yumi slips over to where Tatara and Naruko are seated, casually saying in a voice low enough for them to hear, "If you draw too much attention to yourselves, you might not get out alive. I can offer you some protection services for a price…"
Well, there went not being noticed. Tatara smirks at her tact, or lack thereof, and says, "That sounds good. We'll get two orders, but perhaps we should get it to go. We seem to be disturbing the other patrons here." And then their luck takes another serious upward turn as their target offers to escort them. Could this mission really go this easily?
"That's probably a good idea. If you'll escort us out once our order is made, I'll pay you well. My pouch with that kind of money is in our wagon just outside town." A decent enough way to bait her to stay with them if she wants a big pay day.
It was at that moment Naruko realized how lucky they were. She peered over towards Yumi to whom she almost cackled with evil laughter, and gasped for air. All in her head of course. In Reality, her cheeks merely swelled as if she was going to burst into tears until finally she whispers. "All…orders…to go please. Smoked salmon…" She simply relents. Something quick, easy, and already pre smoked since the meats were sitting out. At this point she doesn't use any names, instead to loops an arm around tatara as if giving him some reassurance. "Sounds like a good idea to me. This place spells trouble and looks like I may have gotten a few patrons antsy already…" Naruko mentions, refering to the "protection services".
Tatara was offering to pay a handsome sum? That was almost too good to be true… At least given his tone. Usually folk sound more nervous when they accept her services… But greed won over wariness for Yumi, and she would give a slight nod to the pair. "Very well. I'll keep an eye out for any trouble and make sure it doesn't come your way for the time being. Don't worry if you don't see me." Then she slips away into the crowd, making herself as inconspicuous as possible … Of course, she still looks interesting with her hair and fishnet and such and so, but even with all that, her 'presence' is small.
Tatara nods to Yumi simply enough then looks back to the bartender. Once their order has been delivered, he reaches into his jacket to grab a money pouch and pays for their meals. He then turns to make his way out of the bar, picking up the bag with their plates with one hand and grabbing Naruko's hand with the other to lead her out and continue to play that role they'd played from the time they entered the bar. "Let's get to the wagon," he says with a smile and then would begin walking toward the edge of town, assuming Yumi will follow along with or behind them so she can collect her pay…
Naruko simply smiles back and following along with Tatara, though this time she was a little more cautious this time around due to Yumi actually being around. Everything seemed to be all going according to plan. She merely followed along at this point, sticking close to Tatara. More for cover than anything else.
Yumi keeps to the shadows, even when guarding her client. If someone chose to try and stir up trouble, she'd take care of them in her own silent way… Of course, no one really caused Tatara or Naruko much trouble once they left the bar. They only managed to cause a ruckus while they were drawing attention to themselves. Most of the street rats that might try to steal from Naruko were warded off thanks to Tatara's appearance.
Everything is going according to plan thus far. Perhaps Naruko is a good luck charm. Since things are going so well, he decides to leave his Sharingan at a mild level for now so as not to be so obvious. Without much ushering from Tatara, Yumi would feel her subconscious tugging at her to tell her she should stick closer to the pair since there could be danger and she doesn't want to wind up not getting paid because someone else killed them and took the loot. A simple glance from the Clan Head is all it takes, his stride and demeanor as normal and relaxed as ever as he strolls along hand in hand with Naruko.
Naruko on the other hand became less relaxed as time went on. eventually she removes her grip and looks over in Yumi's direction, keeping a close eye briefly to see what would happen next. After all, she had no idea Tatara was casting a genjutsu. So for the time being she simply kept her ears and eyes open for any sudden movements which would go against the norm. Things were definitely going a little too easy. But maybe she wouldn't actually have to fight to complete this mission.
Not knowing the enemy, Yumi wasn't one to immediately suspect genjutsu. A majority of her targets are taken out before they can fight back, and the few she encountered tended to be straightforward in their attacks. Hence, the genjutsu took ahold of her mind rather easily. The only thing it really did was make her even more paranoid, though, because she felt something warning her that 'something bad' would happen. She moved just a bit closer to the duo, but she also stayed hidden as best she could and kept a close eye out for any sign of unusual movement. A hand rested on some smaller shuriken in case something did decide to rear its head…
As both Naruko and Yumi tense up, the Uchiha Clan Head remains completely calm. He leads them out a bit further from the village so they don't get noticed before the color of his eyes turns a lot brighter. As they lock onto the girl within the grasp of the Genjutsu he just cast, another invades her mind. Assuming its success, she would experience her world blacking out as if she had just lost consciousness while in reality a Genjutsu is setting in to cause this effect. "Bind her," he instructs Naruko as he keeps his eyes locked upon Yumi's position so as to be sure eye contact is not broken and she remains under the jutsu's influence at least until she is properly bound for transport back to Konoha.
It seemed as simple as that, Yumi began to slump and make it easier to bind her up. Naruko grins at this, blinking in wonder at Tatara. Naruko hadn't never really been introduced or had to deal with genjutsu. This was a time where it definitely was a useful attribute. She nods and begins to slip her hands into her cloak, revealing a very small by tribraided rope to tie along yumi, binding her wrists behind her back. "I have to be honest. I was thinking there would be a fight….this was super….smooth…"
Yumi is starting to get more and more suspicious as they head out of town. There was no wagon in sight… Which either meant bandits got to it (which is completely possible in this area of Fuuma Alley), or it was a trap. The Fuma would move from her hiding place to make her way to Tatara and Naruko, about to question them on the whereabouts of their cart when Tatara turns his eyes and locks them onto her own. A new genjutsu grabs ahold of her mind, and she ends up passing out quite suddenly. Well, that was easy c.c;
"Simple and clean. No need to get crazy and violent when things can be handled this way," Tatara says with a smile as he walks over and picks the bound Fuma girl up to sling her over his shoulder so he can carry her. "Now there is actually a wagon down the road. It has a cell built into it for prisoner transport. If you'd like to ride back with me, we could eat our salmon on the way and I could treat you to something good in Konoha once we get back there this evening for all your help."
"Sounds like a good idea to me!" Naruko simply conclues, though she is sure to take the packaged food in her hands so he could focus on carrying the poor girl…Well she was a criminal so not really poor. " I have more business to do there anyways so I will be in Konoha for a bit, no problem following along." Naruko further explained, positioning herself next to him so she could follow along. She was glad the mission was more or less complete.

Yumi is starting to get more and more suspicious as they head out of town. There was no wagon in sight… Which either meant bandits got to it (which is completely possible in this area of Fuuma Alley), or it was a trap. The Fuma would move from her hiding place to make her way to Tatara and Naruko, about to question them on the whereabouts of their cart when Tatara turns his eyes and locks them onto her own. A new genjutsu grabs ahold of her mind, and she ends up passing out quite suddenly. Well, that was easy c.c;
