Summary:
In this What If? story, a red mist has descended onto Konohagakure, making anyone who inhales the gas murderous and angry, Kyuketsuki and Zori are both in the Hospital, where the gas is for some reason not entering. Hige attacks!

Medical Facility, Wing Two, Recovery Room 1
Its a strange gloomy day in (What-If) Konohagakure, the clouds hang low and look stormy as well, but no rain has dropped yet, in the hospital Kyu lays, conscious and fully capable of moving, but the place has been pretty quiet. Kyu was being visited by Zori when this all happened, out the window they would see a red mist seemingly spray out of the sky, coating the area, almost immediately after the sounds of explosions, fire, and combat can heard outside, those that look closely out the window can see the mist swirling around and going into houses, and all that, but for some very very odd reason, the mist isn't going into the hospital. Anyone who inhales the gas gains the extreme and uncontrollable urge to murder anyone either not under the effects of the gas, OR that they didn't know prior to the gas. They retain all memories but their perception of these memories are twisted a bit, a small offense to them, when under the effects of the gas, may seem like something worthy of hunting that person down and killing them.
Kyu looks out at the mist from the window. Seeing fire and ninja arts being used all over. "This cannot be good, I think that red mist is doing this…" Kyu turns to Zori, "We can't go out there. We have to stay put until it clears up or something. This is very bad. Very very bad."
Zori looks at Kyu, as he remains seated in front of the coffee table that's across the room from Kyu. Moving both of his arms to rest on the coffee table. "Red Mist? Kyu are you under the influence of drugs or something?" Zori grins as he takes his arms that's resting on the coffee table and firmly clasps his hands together. "Describe whats happening, i don't feel like getting up"
Ahh yes, red mist, destruction, death, mayhem. Sounds about right for killin' ta happen. If there's anyone in Konoha that has taken a number of minor insults it would be one Inuzuka Hige. And there just happens to be some people in particular he's wanting to visit.
Kyu looks at Zori kind of annoyedly, "You're telling me you cannot hear the explosions going on? And just look out the window! I'm surprised the hospital hasn't been burned down!" He gets out of the hospital bed and moves to the window, looking down at the destruction. He looks back at Zori, "Look. I'm not crazy, something weird is going on. We have to do something, block the door maybe?" The room lights up brightly as a fireball makes a close pass by the window.
Zori shrugs his shoulders. "I heard a explosion but nothing major to me. Let me take a look" Zori calmly get up out of his seat and walks over towards the window. As he looks out the window the fireball lights up the room. "Hmm maybe we should block the door." Zori walks over the the double door and unravels his string, tying it through both the door handles wrapping it around as tight as he could. Zori then grabs the coffee table and chairs setting it in front of the door. "Hehe ain't nothing getting through there."
Who needs doors? Pff. Fireballs loom, lighting up the night sky, and also illuminating a figure jumping through the air - right at the window. No, not just one, but two. As the boy nears his eyes are crazy, feral, deadly. Blood drips from his fangs and claws to show he's already helped some fools to their deaths. Time to help some others. The duo start spinning as they near the glass, smashing through it with ease before smashing into the pair inside the room.

Kyu hears the glass shatter and his eyes reflexively turn red and gain the tomoe, he whips around and makes the Ram seal but isn't quite quick enough, what Hige would see is Kyu make the Ram seal, poof into smoke, and appear again, sliding backwards and bleeding from a newly opened gash in his chest. He looks instinctively at the window, the mist forms a seemingly solid red wall, not entering the room, what is this stuff?! Well, whatever it is, it's controlling Hige, kill or be killed, right?! "Zori!" Is all he says while he makes the seals for Out of Body Experience, followed by a Binding Illusion to hold him still for one of Zori's attacks since the illusion takes a moment to set in. He would start to feel detached from his body, as it stops listening to his commands, his vision rapidly fading, then chains would seemingly erupt from the ground and hold him down, obvious genjutsu. Kyu can tell this isn't a game. Just look into his eyes. "Hige! I don't know what that mist did to you but I won't just let you kill us!" is all he says.

Zori blinks when a shadowy figure bursts through the window as the glass shatters everywhere. Zori flinches as he realizes that its Hige. "Hey Hige whats u-" Zori's eyes gets big from the sight of blood dripping from Hige's fangs. As Hige made his way at Zori with his gatsuga, Zori tries to block it with his string but was not fast enough resulting in getting hit in the chest directly. Zori gets pushed through the table and chair just before hitting the double door with a loud thud. Glancing down at his chest, he could see a large gash going across it dripping blood. Zori stands up and says "Alright I'm with you, No point of talking him out of this. This isn't the Hige we know. That mist already got him." Zori extends both his arms launching out his wires in Hige's direction aiming to wrap him up completely and then twist and squeeze the wires causing them to collapse on the Inuzuka, slicing him.

There is nothing but growling from Hige and Konsho both. No response to what is said, neither verbal nor otherwise. When the genjutsu comes the boy digs his claw into his leg without taking his eyes from the pair, the pain keeping him free for the moment. The wires are simply avoided with an ease that he never has shown before. It's almost like he's always held back but no longer is.There's no pause, no hesitation, as Hige and Konsho charge Kyuketsuki, the genjutsu doing nothing but annoying them ever more. Lightning flickers as each of the pair slash down towards the Uchiha.

Kyu makes the Ram seal as he sees the familiar lightning! Not this again! He tries to use the Clone Mirage illusion on both, both from the angle he's being attacked from, a clone doesn't help, he takes two claw strikes to the torso as he momentarily drops to his knees, his vision quite blurring and blood practically pouring from the wounds, he coughs up a bit of blood and stands back up, ignoring the pain and wooziness, he turns around, pretty much running off instinct and will, his eyes look distant as his consciousness only hangs by a thread, he makes the hand seals for Out of Body Experience once more, he does it twice in fact, its almost as if that's all he can do right now. Even if he makes it out of this battle, the survival probability seems low for him. If the attack worked, Hige would be pulled out of his body and Kyu would simply stare blankly at him, refusing to fall unconscious and leave Zori alone with this… monster. He would be unresponsive and sway slightly, fighting for consciousness.

Zori watches as Kyu takes two life ending slashes from Hige. Zori shouts "Kyu!" as he quickly jumps on top of the hospital bed. Glaring at Hige he says "You lousy mutt! Leave Kyu alone!" as he places his both his hands on the hospital bed, the wires shoot out from Zori's palms through the bed and into the ground slithering its way over to Hige stopping under his feet, it would then shoot up out the floor wrapping around Hige. Twisting and Squeezing him as much as it can.

Mutt? Really? Hige turns to face Zori, pretty much missing the wires at first, but moving away from the second ones with a little hop skin and a jump. He starts towards Zori in a flash, but the genjutsu gets him first and he skids to a stop as his consciousness drifts away from his body. His physical self just stands there, growling, but unmoving.

Kyu's barely functional mind grinds for a moment, thinking of what to do now, he thinks, 'no killing unless I have to', stops and stares for a brief moment, "I have to" he mutters lightly before making quick hand seals, "Blazing Shuriken!" He manages to yell, blood basically flowing out of his mouth. He exhales a large barrage of Shuriken sized bolts of pure fire, attempting to burn his motionless, commander-less, and distant body down to cinders!

Zori jumps back as Hige starts making his way towards him. Seeing that Hige has stopped, Zori knew the Genjutsu has taken effect now. "I'm Sorry Inuzuka clan but another one bites the dust! also don't worry Konsho I'm not gonna bury you I'm just gonna throw you in the trash can!" Zori grins evilly as he moves the wire that's already in the ground below Hige, upwards to wrap around Hige, squeezing and twisting and slashing and slicing.

Alright now he's angry. Oh wait, he was already angry. So he's…angrier? Angriest? Angrierer? Regardless he's pretty fogged off and that mist stuff doesn't help. The pain hits him as he is forced back into his body and it's pushed away, even as he bleeds from many wounds and has black patches of skin from t he burns. Nothing is looking all that great on him. But that doesn't stop him, nothing will stop him, not now not ever. He moves in conjunction with Konsho, the pair spinning as they pretty shred the room. Twice over.

Kyu sees him start spinning, but in his injured and confused state he was only focused on Hige, he makes Hige see him still standing there, in reality he leaped up and stood upside down on the ceiling, the dripping blood dropping down onto the floor, then Konsho slashes past his chest, opening a huge cut, the claws happening to go between his ribs and slashing a hole in his lungs, with a small grunt the chakra around his feet, the thing that Hige had taught him to do, faded and he fell headfirst onto the floor, flopping lifelessly onto the floor, covered in his own blood and his lifeless, distant eyes looking in Zori's direction, the red eyes still there, Zori would get to see this for the second time. Except this time, there's no medic to save him. He stares blankly across the room. Obviously dead. Unmoving. Staring at Zori's feet with the spinning duo of death still bouncing around the room.

Zori retracts his wire back after witnessing Hige move out of the stun. Still standing on top of the bed, he shouts "Kyu watch out!" But the gatsuga already got him tearing him up. Zori looks at Kyu and shouts "Noooo" But then Zori glances at his Sharingan. He thinks to himself "I'm gonna get those Sharingans hehe" Zori takes one step while on top of the bed in motion towards Kyu and his dead body or soon to be, either way. But forgets that Hige was after him, turning around just a tad late. The Gatsuga hits him in the chest as it propels him in the air still slashing and slicing at him tearing out organs even his heart. He bounces up to the ceiling from the impact with a loud thud, the ceiling cracks as Zori's lifeless clan-less body falls and hits the bed. His head hits the pillow as hes laying on his back looking up at the ceiling motionless. His body laying on the hospital bed as if he was taking a nap.
Death dealt, the bleeding Inuzuka and his pup turn their focus back out the window they'd come crashing in and walk towards it. But what the hey, better stops and patch up one of them wounds first! A little bandaging and he's ready to go. He's got a long list of people to kill. Best to not waste any time. Konsho takes a second to deal with some business as well, hopping on the bed and lifting his leg on Zori's head. Ahhh, better. Okay, off to kill more!
As both the lifeless Zori and Kyu lay still on their respective death points, and Hige leave, the mist seems to come into the room and surround their bodies, seemingly doing nothing but sitting on them for a moment, after that moment is up, it retracts, back out the window and all the mist covering the town seems to get sucked up into one point, forming a human-like shape, the shape taking off into the low and gloomy clouds, after a brief moment lightning lights up the sky, and the warring village filled to the brim with hate, destruction, violence, and death. The thunder rings out and the clouds start dropping rain, the wind blowing just right to make the droplets fall into the room and onto the corpses of Kyu and Zori, as if the sky is crying, not only for the loss of them, but for everything that's going on in the village. And so ends this tale…
