A basic technique for many swordsmen is learning to continue the motion of the blade after an initial cut has been made, in order to deepen the wound. Moving with the motion of battle, the swordsman aims to move past his opponent, and draw the blade full across them in the same movement. This vicious technique can even be used to interrupt other taijutsu attacks with its speed.
