Jutsu Description
A companion skill to Hyper-Speed Chain Kill, Hyper-Speed Blink Dodge is more than simply a 'fast dodge'. Because it makes use of NO Chakra, the user of this defensive Taijutsu must be trained to superhuman levels of speed and skill. In essence, Hyper-Speed Blink Dodge allows its user to attempt to parry an incoming attack with a blade or equivalent weapon and yet already be moving to evade before the attack even lands. Further, the exceptional speed of this Kenjutsu means that a small shockwave of displaced air sufficient to provide an imitation of weapon-on-weapon contact will occur that matches the after-image of the defender left behind, giving the illusion that the defender is still standing in one place while the real article has already moved to another location — typically right behind the attacker.
Hyper-Speed Blink Dodge is perfect for setting oneself up for counter-offensives. Further, even if a full evasive maneuver is not possible, the preparation to parry may leave the defender better off than would otherwise be the case.
