Purpose
This is where a hopefully comprehensive list of all approved jutsu will be maintained and made viewable by any who are curious as to what's out there. Plus, we all know that in 1.0 was a total pain in the keister because almost all the skills never came with descriptions! XD Hooray for me!
Update(2/27/10): Players will now be responsible for adding their own jutsu and updating any changes to them.
The only things I require from you guys when sticking in your own jutsu is to follow the rules! Mostly that means for Ninjutsu to include type elemental type before the name of the jutsu. IE: Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique and so on, Water Release, Wind, Lightning, Earth… etc. And for the tags, include type type(taijutsu/ninjutsu/genjutsu), element(if applicable), rank and if it's a defense(block or dodge).
The reason I'm doing it this way is because for one, there's just a crap ton that is coming in and it's kind of hard to copy/paste from a +attack/show since it has all those damn side bar decorations on it. And secondly, because the amount of "crap" skills I'm seeing just makes my head want to explode. It might sound mean, but hey! I don't like crap skills! Especially one with less than a sentence for a description. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! *fist shake*
Finally, you don't have to link your jutsu. It's setup so that it automatically shows up on the list.
- To create a new Jutsu, just type in the English Name(Preferably) and hit New Jutsu.
Taijutsu
Taijutsu (??; Literally meaning "Body Techniques") is a basic form of jutsu that generally speaking requires no chakra, but chakra may be used to enhance techniques. Taijutsu generally require no hand seals to perform and are much quicker to use than ninjutsu or genjutsu. Taijutsu is simply put, hand-to-hand combat, or weaponry.
Ninjutsu
Ninjutsu (??; Literally meaning "Ninja Techniques") refers to any technique that utilizes chakra and allows the user to perform actions that a normal person otherwise would be incapable of doing. Unlike genjutsu, which causes the opponent to experience illusions, the effects of ninjutsu are real. Ninjutsu relies on chakra and, most of the time, hand seals to be effective. The hands are put in sequential positions that molds and manipulates chakra in the necessary manner to perform a jutsu. This is not always needed, however, and some jutsu become second nature to experienced ninja, after which they can perform them at will. Additionally, many ninjutsu can be classified as an elemental jutsu, in those cases where a specific element (wind, water, fire, earth, lightning) is used. It can be used in collaboration with Taijutsu to create Nintaijutsu techniques.
When creating a ninjutsu, the two methods of manipulating chakra are referred to as Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation:
- Shape Transformation deals with controlling the form, movement, and potency of chakra.
- Nature Transformation usually deals with changing the physical properties of chakra into an element. (There is also the Nature Transformation of Yin and Yang, but little is known about this)
Genjutsu
Genjutsu (??; Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques") are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals. However, the primary difference between the two is that the effect of genjutsu is illusory; instead of attacking the victim's body, Genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses.
This is often used to create false images or to cause pain from trauma (because the body is led to believe it is in pain); however, there are plenty of other uses depending on the situation. They are not used as often as ninjutsu because they don't physically harm the opponent.
Genjutsu is created when a ninja extends their chakra flow through the cerebral nervous system of their opponent to control their mind's chakra, thereby affecting their five senses. Those with special abilities like the Uchiha clan's Sharingan or with high intelligence have an easier time executing and countering genjutsu, as attention to detail is key. Those under the influence of genjutsu either freeze in place or lose consciousness, depending on how capable they are in recognizing and defending against it.
Genjutsu attacks usually require a lot of skill, and, if performed incorrectly, will not work. Genjutsu is most often used by ninja with very precise chakra control and very high intelligence.
Because Genjutsu effects activity throughout the Prosencephalon structure of the brain, humans and dogs are all affected by genjutsu; however, the Kikaichu, like all insects, lack such a structure of their brain, and so do not even notice it: As the Aburame put it, insects are ruled almost solely by five powerful senses alone, which makes them immune to genjutsu and gives the Aburame clan an ability to detect it when nobody else can.
It's stated that among genjutsu the most dangerous are those that affect the opponent with sound allowing the user to stay out of sight.
